We were craving French food in a nice quaint cafe and thank goodness Yelp brought us here. As mentioned in the other reviews, the decor and vibes really remind us of France. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. The service is fantastic as well. Ordering several small plates and sharing an entree was perfect for us. The pate and bread is delicious with a nice sized portion. Ditto with the tampenade. Also can't go wrong with the escargot. The poutine was a pleasant surprise since it is loaded with beef bourguignon. Wednesday night is really nice since they have wine board specials at an amazing price point. To top it off, location, location, location!!! It's great to walk around after over-indulging.

Exceptional experience! Took the 171 down PCH from DTLB right to their front door on Main St. Seal Beach. Easy, no need to worry about parking. We were after their Nicoise Ahi Salad. It's tough to find a Nicoise salad around town, and even harder to find a good one. BSG did not disappoint. Fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented. They have a very interesting menu, but we stayed with just soup and salad. Add a nice cold and crisp glass of French white wine. Also the whole side of the restaurant opens up to enjoy the fresh sea breeze. Definitely worth the adventure!

I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed this place. It has a great atmosphere and even a small market inside. You don't find many spots like this anymore. The French onion soup was excellent and the caesar salad was just as good. The portions are small and the prices are high, but it is worth it.

I have been here before and enjoyed it...today, I came with a group of friends for lunch. I ordered the Quiche Lorraine. I must say that this was a very disappointing meal. The quiche appeared to have been prepared in a large rectangular casserole. Apart from the non traditional appearance, it wasn't good Our wait staff was efficient and friendly.

Came back after first trying this French bistro in Seal Beach . Went for lunch and hopefully a stroll along Seal Beach old town boulevard on a chill midweek day . A Facebook food influencer reminded me to come back and try the French onion soup . The bistro have grown and expanded to include a country store with wine . Sitting at a table by the window certainly add a European feel to dining experience. Love that it's a family run establishment with owners on site and enthusiastic. Food was good for classic French offerings . The total experience was charming and relaxing . Bought from the store and got the ten percent off if you dine same day .

A good spot for French food on Main Street in Seal Beach. Okey service (yes I witnessed worst), slow most of the time so if you come here expected great, fast service then don't - if you got new or experienced staff then you will get fast service on drinks but foods wise....not so sure on that. It's a great dinning area with full bar and decent bartenders, but if you order just wines, and beers then you're good but cocktails...just okey. Nice presentation of the foods, taste is just good, nothing standout. The room is greatly decor with cool posters and they opened a store next door so you get grabs to go. It's a great place for friends/family get together for pleasure evening or brunch to catch with things.

I have always wanted to come here as a local but tonight was the first time I did. I will absolutely be back here. Not only is the burger amazing but Abby went above and beyond when she saw I was struggling with my ice pack (my arm is swollen from an injury I had yesterday) and got me real ice in a real bag instead. Oh my goodness- I am so extremely grateful. Thank you

Yum. I love a good beef bourguignon and snails.. who doesn't!? Am I right? This place is locally owned and they are soccer (football) lovers. They also speak French. They have a local crowd and a good amount of seats. This is downtown seal beach. It's a cute spot. Parking can be somewhat tricky but at the end of the street, across PCH there is a larger parking lot if needed. I would like to go back soon.. it's been a while.

Service: was amazing! Staff was friendly, attentive and very informative when it comes to recommendations. Food: food was delicious, the escargot was very flavorful, the beef stuff was served as a big portion, the beef was tender the veggies were soft and easy to chew. The pork chop was okay it might needed a little more time to cook. Ambiance: felt like you were in Europe. It had a restaurant as well as a shop right inside

Do they serve brunch on Sundays only?

    Yes

    Do we need a reservation?

No unless you have a large group! If you are going at peak hours, a reservation doesn't hurt but i have never needed one.

Do they still offer bottomless mimosas? I can't find anything on the website but past Yelp reviews state they did.

    Yes for $15.

My wife had bought an online special offer that had us try this cool wine bar out. The owner, Theodore, personally brought over each of the four flights of wines that were part of the special. He described the variety, and was super gracious in asking us how we liked each offering. The food was outstanding! Hands-down, one of the best beef carpaccio's that we have had in all of the Long Beach and surrounding areas. Instead of a paper-thin slice like many other locations, it was a more generous slice that still melted in your mouth with a few delicate bites. The goat cheese Brie was delightful. As well as the garlic, red-wine basted escargot. We also enjoyed the bruschetta which was yummy and had a very nice mashed tomato jelly on top of the cheese spread. If you're looking for a nice date night spot for Valentines, or to relax and enjoy a casual ambience for a connected conversation, I absolutely recommend going to Wine on 2nd. We have tried other wine bars from the Wilmore on Atlantic, to the boulangerie on Main Street in Seal Beach, as well as the wine bars in downtown Long Beach, and this one definitely places itself as one of the better wine bars you should absolutely try. Thank you Theodore!

It's a small, charming spot with a relaxed atmosphere. Just a heads up- there's no indoor seating, so everything is outdoors with a small patio setup. That said, when the weather is nice, it's actually ideal. It feels very laid back and intimate, like one of those hidden neighborhood gems you stumble upon. The employee working when we went was super friendly and welcoming, which always makes a place feel even better. The wine I tried was really good, you can definitely tell it's natural wine (in a good way!). They also have small bites available if you want to snack while you drink, though we didn't end up ordering food. Parking is street parking in the area, which wasn't too difficult to find when we went. Overall it was just a really pleasant experience. The fact that I've passed by this area so many times without noticing this little gem feels like a true tragedy. Though petite and easy to miss, this spot is something special. They specialize in natural wines, thoughtfully and selectively curated since they're not a winery themselves. The selection offers great variety, and because seating is limited, it's very much a first-come, first-served situation, arrive early if you want a seat. There's some indoor seating, with more available outside. The wine servers were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. They also host food vendors. There is a sushi spot right next door which is conveniently located next to the theater where you can score discounted bottles if you're catching a movie. Wines rotate as they sell out, so if you fall in love with one, do yourself a favor and grab a bottle before it's gone.

For appetizer, there were two choices: mixed salad or fried zucchini and mozzarella with spicy tomato sauce. We chose the mixed salad, and it was perfectly dressed and very good. There were several options for entrees. I choose the caccio e pepe, and hubby choose Salmon Piccata with potatoes and vegetables. Both were delicious! We finished the meal with two scoops each of gelato. There were several flavors to choose from, but we are a little boring--I got chocolate and strawberry, hubby got chocolate and vanilla. I think our server may have been the daughter of the chef, as I heard them talking and laughing together in Italian. She was great, attentive and very sweet. I am sure we will be back.
