All 10s across the board. The intentions of going here were more so for the views but the food held a special places there also. I believe this is another hidden gem located inside of a hotel. I got a steak burrito ; so flavorful and a nice size portion. I do wish there was more of the green salsa it came with. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast plate which I had to try some of. So good the breakfast potatoes were the star of the show. As a starter we order homemade biscuit and butter. Soooo good the biscuit was so butter and fluffy and light . The butter that came on the side was a whipped honey butter 10/10 recommend. The spot will go in rotation for me for a cute brunch can't wait to go back.

Hubby & dined here when it was called the "plunge" a long time ago & I was sad it closed down bc I missed the lovely view & the great food. Glad to find out today that the restaurant had reopened but under a different name. We were in the area & thought we check it out. Place was pretty busy for late lunch but luckily we got a seat by the window & enjoyed the view just like old times. Hubby ordered their fried chicken breast that came with fries & cold slaw. The cold slaw was bland but the chicken was surprisingly very good! The texture was tender & juicy. The amount of crisp was perfect. Fries were good. I had the Mediterranean chicken wrap & it was solid. It tasted healthy & clean. The portions were ample amount. Prices aren't cheap but worth the quality you pay for. Drinks were spot on. I'd definitely order these 2 dishes again. Btw, can't say much about the service bc you get in line to order first & they bring out the food.

Came in for brunch with a friend, the place was a bit small but cozy. The food was flavorful and the Spanish latte was perfectly made. The view was lovely and honestly worth it, even if you go by yourself. Friendly vibe overall; will be back.

You need to check this place out! Hidden within the 1900 E Ocean Ave building is one of the best views of long beach with a delectable amount of food options. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner options at very affordable rates. You'll love it. I went and got the breakfast burrito w/ bacon. If you like a burrito with crunchy bacon, melted cheese, and some fresh potatoes this is the one to get. Their coffee program is pretty good. They seem to know what they are doing and are dedicated to providing a quality product rather than just a plain ol' coffee. Their team is there to guide you through your options so dont feel overwhelmed. This is perfect for a laid back date even, given the views. Or just a casual coffee and food spot. Check it out when you can!

It's not every day you get to review a restaurant that's in your own backyard, but in the case of Hartland's there is no closer or more convenient location than right in my apartment building. Tucked away on the second floor of 1900 Ocean, it's an open and airy space with plenty of seating. I especially love the casual beach house lounge style furnishing. Sadly they are only open for brunch/lunch and close daily at 3 PM (also closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Highly recommend anything off their cafe menu, with the hojicha latte being unique and a stand out. Also have gotten their OG breakfast burrito a few times and it's always hit the spot. Only taking a star off my review because the omelette left a lot to be desired - the egg was rubbery and was not mixed in with the fillings at all. All in all, am convinced this is the best brunch spot in Long Beach for vibes and views, with floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the ocean. Last time I ate here, I even saw a school of dolphins swimming right off the coast - it doesn't get better than that.

Every time I visit my son, this place becomes part of our daily ritual--from breakfast to lunch, we are here. We honestly don't go anywhere else unless we DoorDash. My son is working on his master's degree and is also a Division I athlete, so his schedule is nonstop and cooking or meal prepping is almost impossible. Having such an incredible restaurant right on the second floor of his apartment building is truly a blessing. The food is absolutely astonishing. The view is a million-dollar view, the waitstaff is beyond perfect--so charming, attentive, and welcoming--and the food... wow. I can never get enough of the steak and eggs, steak burrito prime rib sandwich, Avocado toast, Fresh Sourdough bread and the shrimp and grits are unreal. This is where we go every single time I visit, and I'm here for five days this trip--so yes, we'll be at Heartland every day. Thank you for maintaining such a wonderful restaurant and an amazing menu. You've truly made our visits special

Ordered at the counter and grabbed a table right at the window with the views. Had the espresso tonic as they were out of ginger beer for the espresso mule which sounded interesting. The food was brought to our table which was nice for a counter order spot. They have really cool silverware as well. Food came out as it was ready and there were 5 of us for brunch so salad orders came out quickly and then burger and veggie burrito and last was the French toast which worked perfect since I was sharing my veggie burrito and the French toast was more like dessert. The Caesar salad was great they smash up the croutons so every bite is crunchy. The veggie burrito came with a cilantro salsa that was really delicious and the burrito was great too. After that the French toast was the best tasting toast I think I've had. Almost tasted like a cinnamon roll. So good all around and the servers were friendly and brought out whatever we needed.

Came at about 2pm on a Saturday. Plenty of space, but they told us they were busy all morning, so they'd run out of a few menu options. We got the Fried Chicken plate with fries and a beer. Fantastic! We will definitely make this a regular stop. The view is beautiful. The space is quiet and inviting. And the food was delicious. Come support so they have a good reason to extend the hours. Easily walkable from surrounding neighborhoods and the bike path at Junioero beach has stairs right up to the building.

Love this place. What a hidden gem. I'd love to gatekeep but i want the business to thrive LOL! The cheeseburger is amazing, along with great views and ambiance. The staff is great and very chill. Only negative about this cafe is the parking so be ready to find street parking. Otherwise a great spot for brunch.

I live in the building that Hartland's is in, so I've had the luxury of coming here very often. Clover says 31 visits, but I know the real number is probably even higher. That alone shows how much I enjoy this place. Hartland's has become my go-to spot for breakfast, studying, and resetting my mind. Whenever they are open, I find myself heading downstairs to order either the steak and eggs or the steak burrito. Both are consistently great and always cooked well. I used to order the butterscotch latte with oat milk every single time because it was incredible. They no longer serve it, but the Spanish latte they introduced is also very good. The atmosphere is a huge part of what makes this place special. I usually sit in the corner with my laptop, eating good food, listening to relaxing music, and looking out at the ocean and beach in the background. It is one of the best environments for getting work done because it is peaceful, bright, and calming. You order at the front and seat yourself, which keeps everything simple and comfortable. The staff here is consistently kind, and they always make me feel welcome. Rob, the owner, is very friendly and easy to talk to. Every time I walk in, it feels like I am being welcomed home. My only wish is that they stayed open for dinner. If they did, I know I would be down here even more often because the space would make for a great evening spot as well.

I live in the building so I frequent this place. Everything I have had has been exceptional, my favorites are the breakfast burrito & the fried chicken! Though the biscuit on the breakfast sandwich is also incredible. The views are obviously outstanding, the space is always clean and well kept and the staff & owner are always welcoming. There is PLENTY of parking around the building during the hours they are open so don't bitch about that

Delicious brunch spot with an amazing panoramic beach view tucked in the second floor of 1900 Ocean Blvd. I'm glad my friend read an article about this place because I never would've known there was a restaurant here! You have to hunt for street parking but there were several spots in the neighborhood along 1st Street and it's a short walk over. We ordered our food and mimosas at the market counter and then picked our seats - we chose the booth but every seat has an excellent ocean view. The ambiance is modern, open and airy, and even has a homey lounge area with comfy couch/seats/pillows. Service was great and brought our meals to our table. The prices were also a good value for high quality food. We got the sausage biscuit sandwich, side of grits, veggie burrito, bar burger, and French toast. All of the dishes were amazing! The sausage biscuit was especially delicious - fresh made biscuit and homemade sausage that was savory with a subtle hint of sweet - probably the best that I've had and I would definitely go back just to get that again. The veggie burrito was also surprisingly good with tater tots inside for an added crunch and chimichurri dipping sauce - I would also definitely order that again. The burger with crispy onions and side of seasoned fries was great, and the French toast with thick cinnamon brioche and fresh berries balanced out our meal perfectly with some sweetness. My friend called ahead to confirm dogs were allowed and they were fine with us bringing her dog to the inside seating area since it was a chilly morning. So it's a perfect brunch spot to do a beach walk along the bike trail right before or after. Definitely an awesome brunch place that is a hidden gem!

Tons of board games, books and wonderfully mellow music helps make the experience feel comforting and inviting. Our drinks were prepared quickly and shouted at the coffee bar for pickup. The presentation was great, but the flavors, out of this world! The Cinnamon Dulce Latte was OUTSTANDING. So good, in fact, that my girlfriend stole it from me! The Chicken & Waffles, previously a staple with three wings, has switched to dark meat only (thighs) with zero substitutions. As someone who isn't a fan of dark meat, that was a major letdown. I opted for the Lemon Pancakes ($21), and while the presentation was stunning, the taste was underwhelming and the portion size was surprisingly small--my son's kids' meal actually had more food than mine. Bristy, our server, thoroughly explained the details of certain dishes such as the Mac & Cheetos. She also checked in on our table throughout the meal and came around often to refill our water. As for the food itself, it was very delicious. My favorite dish was the artichokes. They had a somewhat smoky flavor and the outermost leaves were crunchy and a nice contrast to the soft inside of the artichokes. They were also served in a tangy sauce that complimented the vegetable well. My friend's favorite item was the macaroni and cheese. It was chewy and creamy, and the pasta, which Bristy informed us was made in-house, was what my friend thought elevated the dish because it was a nice texture. We additionally ordered the gumbo which was also tasty but not as yummy as the other two dishes that we ordered. It is not a spicy dish if one is concerned about spice level. As for the ambiance of the restaurant, we enjoyed how the atmosphere felt casual and almost like you were sitting in somebody's house (the wallpaper and interior design is pretty) while still maintaining an elegant aesthetic design. We came on a weekday so getting a table quickly wasn't an issue. Points for the service. The…read morehostess and server were good. The restaurant has multiple parts. There is inside seating what looks like a converted house? There is outside seating at tables or at the bar. The menu was interesting which had a theme of shrimp; there was eggs Benedict with shrimp, but not an item to order a regular one without it? Sure maybe could have ordered and asked without shrimp but pay the same price? Pass. Ok when I called they mentioned they serve brunch until 3? 3:30 I can't remember. The server mentioned they serve the brunch all day? Either way when I got to ordering this month on the menu it highlighted the shrimp po boy. I tried to order and nope, out. How can you be out of the item highlighted as the special in the middle of the day? When the place is not packed? I tried to order the lobster roll and again, out. I was tempted to order their short rib poutine since in theory it sounded good, but at this point I tried something simple I would hope they have in the kitchen chicken and waffles. The plate came and it looks good. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the chicken you can see a dark something. As I lift my chicken I found a huge burnt piece of breading pictured next. On top of the chicken is green onion I think? Who eats that with chicken and waffles? If I am wrong, a garnish is totally unnecessary for this dish. The chicken was moist. There are spices in the flour breading I can see but hard to taste what it is. The waffle is a hard pass for me. The waffle was crispy which is good, but also thin and dry and I couldn't taste any sweetness until I put maple syrup on it. The syrup came out warm which was nice. It's clear watching the people at the bar this is a local hangout. The chicken and waffles were $19 which if I was in the bay I think it's about right, but I think a little high considering the level of food I got. Supposedly this place is packed specifically on Sundays. The server doesn't know why? I'm not interested to even try to come back for a second chance and just be told sold out of the menu.
