This dive bar is our 'Cheers-where everybody knows your name'. My husband and I are regulars. I used to get upset with him because we'd go here 2-3 times a week; but as I've gotten to know the bartenders and other locals, I have a deeper appreciation for this place. I've formed so many great friendships here. Some who I now consider family. It's not a typical dive bar. You can totally sit at one of their tables in the outdoor patio and have some mimosas on a sunny afternoon. There's a billiard room where they hold pool tournaments on certain nights. You're allowed to bring in outside food. There's a great pizza place across the parking lot, a liquor store and a donut shop all in the same plaza. And a UPS in case you have anything to ship. :) Bathrooms are clean, prices are fair, they have beer on tap and bottled, full stocked liquor and for the lightweights- white claws, trulys and corona seltzers. This is the perfect neighborhood bar!!! A little bit of everyone migrated here. Friendly bartender @macthebartender who works on Wednesday is the best! They upgraded during the pandemic and now have more spacious seating and air conditioning/ventilation. There is a pool room and juke box for entertainment. Not to mention all the new televisions . As we are trying to walk inside the bar "keep in mind this our first time here" the place is pretty crowded and we try to approach the bar we CAN'T?! Chill as fuck. Two pool tables, a patio, and popcorn machine. Classic Long Beach- young and old, dark, not obnoxiously loud, and super friendly to a guy like me who after 24 years in Long Beach finally came in on the way to and from the airport. Were very rude to me cause I wasn't a local and even told me to leave because they were closing even though they let the locals stay after hours. Then a couple of the customers harassed me in the parking lot and when I said they didn't own the parking lot and I had the right to sit in my car the bartender came out and said I was 86ed...good riddance. Not to mention I don't do drugs and everyone was just snorting coke in the bathroom. If I could I'd give this place 0 stars. My husband and I have came here a few times & never had a problem but the last time we came we quickly realized that not only do they favor their locals/regulars but they are racist. The bartender Kenny kept ignoring us when we tried to order drinks instead he's chatting up with the regulars & would even walk right past us and go serve his regulars . We would have to wait almost 15 minutes just to be acknowledged. When we closed our tab we didn't tip and ol Kenny wasn't happy about that. We tried to keep it fun and even try to joke around with him but his racist side came out instead. Telling my husband by the way ,black man, that he needs to work hard to even get 25 CENTS. & I got it on video. & then he's Telling other customers we didn't tip. Very unprofessional and racist. If youre not a local/regular and aren't in their shade, they will treat you like you are beneath them. Will never come back and def will not recommend to anyone. read more

Friendly staff and smells really good inside. Super clean place with clean bathrooms. Most days I've been here had a nice atmosphere. The only reason I took off stars is because they overcharged us. We got charged $14 for one drink which is a price I would expect to pay at a nice restaurant, not a dive bar. Last time we came the drinks were way cheaper so idk if it was a special but it's why we came back. We ended up paying $70 and didn't drink that much. I don't think I'll be back though. I have lived in the LBC for well over 15 years and I have pretty much experienced every bar around, but for some reason I had never made my way to Blondie's. Well now I can officially say I came, I saw, and I conquered another lovely dive bar. Though I wouldn't really say it is a dive, it is pretty clean and very well kept together. Lots of seating, outdoor gated patio, and plenty of tvs for sports. Came in on Memorial Day in the early afternoon to a warm reception. Ended up seeing a few friends that frequent the bar and hung out and got my drank on. The bartender was great, and put up with our loud asses and a good time was had by all. Downside no food, but that is no big deal. They have a few places near them where you can purchase some grub and they do not mind if you bring it in... just clean up after yourself. A laid-back local joint with cheap drinks. To wit, two Blue Moons and two Bacardi and Cokes came to $15--I thought they'd messed up our bill. Doesn't have much of an ambiance and the crowd can seem a little rough around the edges but it's not a bad place to hang out with friends and catch a game on one of the 3 large TVs, shoot some pool, or play bad music on the juke box. I don't really go out enough locally. Could be good or bad, but for the most part, I've missed going to Blondies enough. I've been a few times, and while every experience has been good, just never put the effort into going back. Now thats probably changed. This is the tale of two bars in one nights, and having the stark compare and contrast experience, to Dempsey's just a few blocks away, I'll be coming back to blondies more. Blondies is a dive, but has good seating, and is well decorated, with tacky, neon, posters, but it works, and actually sets a pretty good vibe. Getting there about 5, I saw a great rush of the kind of after work types come in for about two hours. The bartender (blonde) was great, and their wednesday special $3 wells was good too. I went there with a date, and we did 3 rounds of Coors Light and Whiskey and Coke. Total $19.xx. Whats better, the bartender remembered my drinks, so everytime she saw me head up to the bar, she just gave me a nod to see if I wanted the same thing and made fast work of the drinks. The patrons are regular middle class types, but all polite and friendly. It was a great place to relax and the patio was perfect for holding conversation. After that we took off to Dempsey's for what was a shocking experience, at twice the price and about 1/16th the service. This is probably what made blondies stand out finally, that you realize just how bad a local bar can be, and just how great of a job the owners and staff of blondies do, to make a welcoming dive. I really like this local bar it has to pool tables variety of beers and other alcoholic beverages. No food period but they do have peanuts and some bags of chips. Happy hour is pretty good.
