    The Hari Bowl
    Tocher K.

I needed to find a vegan spot on my way to the beach for a sunset Chill dinner by myself. Looking at all the options I didn't recognize Vizzi so I took a look at the menu. It was exactly what I was looking for with fast flavor forward and interesting plant-based food. I read a few yelp reviews before settling in on the Hari bowl. I ordered online and the order was ready as soon as I walked in the door. I was warmly greeted by the owner Akhil. We got to chatting and you could see how proud he was of his restaurant. I told him how excited I was to try a new vegan spot and loved the modern vegan Indian fusion type vibe. I don't know of many vegan Indian places so this is going to be a fun experience. We got to talking and finding out he is an IronMan triathlete got us geeking out immediately. I probably could've stayed another two hours talking, what an awesome dude. I started to get hungry so asked about other suggestions on the menu and he had mentioned the Raja fries. I made an order and he included two chutney and ketchup to try to see what I liked the most. There are so many things on the menu. I want to try, but I had to limit myself to two of them for this visit. I thanked him for a suggestion and was honestly bummed. I don't live in SoCal because we would probably be friends and vegan triathletes and foodies lol. Awesome vibe at the place, high ceilings, open space and looks like a great place to gather with friends or family for some unique vegan options. I went down to the beach and immediately enjoyed going back-and-forth between the Hari bowl and the Raja Fries. Each bite was different in the Hari bowl with so many layers of crunchy vegetables, soft and moist rice, and the prana protein, which was perfect for my post run recovery from earlier. The one thing I would change would probably be the crunchy chickpeas and just have them be seasoned and soft chickpeas. There is so much going on in the bowl, You don't need the extra crunch from the crunchy chickpeas, softer ones would do well I think. For the chutneys I didn't even prefer one of the Serrano chutney over the Mango Habanero. I really enjoyed alternating bites to get different flavor profiles for each fry. Nice little kick of heat with each bite too. All in all the pick up experience, getting to talk with Akhil, then ultimately the food experience. It was all a resounding success, and I'm glad I stumbled upon it. I'll be back as soon as I can. Can't wait!

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great option for casual vegan fare in the evenings. So glad the great Wild Chive space is now being used in the evenings by this all plant-based eatery. Their limited menu is basically Indian-spiced vegan comfort food (think burgers, tacos, fries, etc). On our first visit the hubby and I shared a Burger, Nuggets, and seasoned fries--all very yummy. On the night we went the atmosphere felt a little austere, maybe because it was a bit dark and there was no music? The service was friendly and efficient, and the prices reasonable, so we knew we wanted to return. On our second visit we got food to go: I got the Hari bowl, probably their most health conscious offering, with kale, cabbage, rice, vegan protein, beans--i thought it was delicious and really hit the spot on a night I didn't want any fried foods. The hubby got the burrito, which he really enjoyed. On the nights we've walked by recently things looked more lively so maybe they're getting into their groove. We're very happy to have this kind of option in the neighborhood, and hope they thrive.

The tacos were average. Very fulfilling. The service was quick and easy. The restaurant had plenty of seating. My only critique is the food could be a bit more flavorful.:) side note: grab a dessert it's worth it!

The ambiance is perfect, service was wonderful and the food is perfectly made and wonderfully unique. Definately worth a try!!

My parents and even my uncle who isn't vegan have raving about vizzi so i went with them to see what all this hype is about. i've been going to wild chive for a while so i was used to the buzz and vibrancy of that atmosphere, but vizzi is a much more relaxed different vibe. there were times i had to check myself to make sure i wasn't talking too loud because it almost felt disrespectful to the space as it was very quiet. my parents speak very highly of the owner, unfortunately he wasn't there when i went but the waitress who was serving us was incredibly sweet , efficient and accommodating. shout out to her she even gave us a free bag of dog treats for our dog! i ordered the loaded fries, mango drink and dessert, each having a really pleasant and unique flavor profile. I found the fries to be somewhat average but the drink and dessert were delicious!! i tried some of my moms bowl she ordered and it also fell somewhat flat for me. even though the main food menu didn't wow me, i would definitely come back if i was ever wanting a sweet treat because i loved my drink and dessert! i feel like vizzi has lots of potential and i'm excited too see them expand

We visited them twice in a week of their opening, so that should already tell you something about the place. Lovely food and very warm staff. We ordered the Bhakti bites, Lanka Loaded fries, the Infinite burrito, the Chariot burger, Tamarind Lemonade and the Amrit Mango Fresca in our first visit. We thought that the Mango drink was da bomb! So so good! We thought of trying different items in our second visit and definitely did not miss out ordering the mango lassi of course. The Hari Bowl and the Kinetic Tacos quickly became our favorites. Tasty, flavorful and good quantity. What we also loved was their very reasonable prices! The same food would have costed us more elsewhere. So it's a place that we would be visiting often for sure. I also forgot to mention, they are open till 10pm and that worked out perfectly for us because we decided to go out for dinner at 8pm when most places were either closed or were closing at that time.

    Tikka Masala Farfalle

The Tikka Masala Farfalle at Vizzi Dish was absolutely delicious! The sauce was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. It had me craving more after every bite. Definitely a dish I'd order again!

Hari bowl with Amrit mango fresca....pure deliciousness.

I love that Vizzi is housed in the same space as The Wild Chive. I dropped in on a Wednesday evening & met the owner, who is super nice. I ordered the Hari Bowl & he recommended the Amrit mango fresca. They were both absolutely delicious. I'm looking forward to trying the rest of the items on the menu.

    Lanka Loaded Fries
    Regina L.

This was the best plant based Indian food I've ever had. The kinetic tacos were my favorite but the Bhakti nuggets and Lanka loaded fries were both fantastic. We tried all of the accompanying sauces and I bc couldn't choose which one I liked the best. They were all amazing. We got to try the dessert that will be on the menu soon and it was so tasty. I can't wait to bring more people back to enjoy this great food and ambiance. The owner was the nicest, sweetest person. He's so passionate about everything on the menu.

First time experiencing Vizzi and it was such a lovely experience. The seasoning on the food was wonderful and the rose spritz was delicious! Will definitely be coming back again

What a great dining experience! The owner is so kind, the food is delicious, & the drinks were 11/10. We can't wait to come back for more!

We came all the way from Santa Clarita and we're not disappointed. Past all the namebrand places by the aquarium and came here and we're not disappointed. I had the work burger, which has fried portobello mushrooms. Others in our group had grilled cheese and poutine burger, and Italian burger and the hotdog and the breakfast burritos. No one was disappointed actually, we were surprisingly pleased with our selections. Sleeper items are the fried cheese curds by themselves. Make sure you get these. Also the onion rings are batter dipped. And beyond delicious! Only bummer is the drinks are cans, so if you need more than one drink, be prepared to pay for each can. The food was super delicious!!

I'm not sure if it's always that lively on Friday nights, but it was the weekend of Warped Tour, so there was a lot of music and energy. If you're looking for a quieter meal, this may not be the best night to visit. The food itself was good, but the wait was much longer than expected. We waited almost 40 minutes for our order. Unfortunately, my burger was also made incorrectly. I ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger but was served a different burger instead. Not quite sure what it was, but it had mushrooms and American cheese. Since we had already waited so long, I decided to just eat it rather than send it back. The burgers were flavorful, but they were smaller than I expected for the price, and they don't come with fries. To round out my meal, I ordered the poutine fries. They were decent. The fries were nice and crispy, which I appreciated. My husband ordered the Burger Don Chendo, and that ended up being the standout of the night. I usually don't like spicy food, but this burger had just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but between the long wait, the incorrect order, and the portion size for the price, the experience was a bit hit-or-miss. I'd be willing to give them another try, especially for the Don Chendo burger, but I'm hoping for a smoother experience next time.

Booth the food and drinks were nice. This visit, we stopped by in the afternoon just as happy hour was starting. There was a good amount of people already inside which could be that in between lunch rush and beginning of happy hour. Getting a table was a cinch as we were seating right away on the patio. It is pet friendly which is also nice. Layout of the restaurant is, majority of the seating is outdoor which is covered. There's the dining area inside the restaurant which is pretty small, another patio to the side of that as well as the private room to the side for more of an intimate experience. Mainly the front patio and bar area tends to be the busiest. Staff were all amazing and friendly which is a major plus. Nobody wants to come an establishment where service is snooty and rude. Everyone was a major doll and the sweetest. Our waiter, I didn't get his name was the sweetest. As it was HH, they only had that menu available. Limited but still decent for what was offered. A good selection in cocktails items and for the price, they were great. As for food, same with limited items but pricing was great. They're known for the Mac and cheese with hot Cheetos as pretty much loads of the tables had ordered it. We've had it prior but this time opted out on it. Started off with one of their sangria which comes either red or white and an old fashioned. Both on the HH menu and very reasonable for 7.00 a pop. Cant beat that. Sangria was quite refreshing with the fruit slices while the old fashioned, it was strong. Actually worth it for 7.00. Food, a mixture of things to share. An order of their fries with parsley and rosemary with an aioli sauce for dipping, 8.00. The braised cheddar brat with house mustard, caramelized onions, Calabrian chili with basil and shallot for 11.00. Quite tasty and flavorful with all the topping and served in a nice roll. The chicken sandwich which was quite big. Fried chicken with cheddar and American cheese, chef sauce, pickles on a benne seed bun for 11.00. And lastly the attic cheeseburger with new school American cheese, pickles, grilled onion aioli, caramelized onions on a benne seed bun cooked medium for 12.00. It was tasty but between that and the chicken sandwich, chicken takes the leads. Pricewise for the sandwiches was great. Everything is à la carte on the menu. They do have other main dishes but we just stuck to the sandwiches. Also a second round of drinks was had. The mango margaritas and the classic. Both tasty and for 7.00 a pop, can't beat that. The whole experience was great. Service was excellent and all the staff were amazing. Patio seating is great as it's perfect for people watching and enjoying the outdoor. Until next time.

Dear Team at The Ordinarie Tavern,…read more The Ordinarie has officially become one of our favorite places! We love it so much that we cannot wait to bring more of our friends and family. During our visit, we wanted to try everything on the menu. The presentation was very nice, the food and the cocktails was delicious, the portions were just right and the prices were reasonable. Booking a reservation was super easy. I reserved a patio table for 6 guests at 6:30pm on a Friday night in the middle of summer! I was easily able to modify it and received text verification of my reservation. I didn't pay a dime to use the online booking system. The ambiance was very nice, semi private and the weather was perfect However, the best part of our evening was our server, Isabella. But I'll be answer this place is really interesting with so many vintage pictures and paintings and photos on the wall that you hardly see the wall at all. It feels very British. There's a really pretty bar with colored backlighting, and a nice patio for outdoor seating. There was a band playing, and wow! They were really good! All of their covers were on point! The kind of fell flat on the food for me tonight. I did not taste the burger that my husband ordered so I can't speak for that. But I did try the Ordinarie Fries, which the menu said were covered in beef gravy, green chili cheese sauce, and cheese. It sounded really delicious and interesting so we ordered that as an appetizer. It was quite a let down. It wasn't really smothered, so you pretty much didn't have any toppings on the fries below. The beef gravy was good, but I didn't ever get a taste of green chili and that bummed me out. I would not order these again. I ordered the wedge salad and add it on salmon. The wedge salad was pretty basic. There was very little bacon on it and way too much blue cheese. In fact, I ended up leaving a huge amount of blue cheese on my plate. The salmon was quite small and super salty. Overall I was not happy at all with the food here, although I will say I've had good food here before. Also, my husband and son thought their food was pretty good. I would come back, but order something different. And absolutely come back for their pop-ups which are amazing!

***UPDATE FOLLOWING DIANA M'S *EDITED* RESPONSE***…read more After deleting her prior response to this review, she is now just focusing on the complaint about the online service fee. I never suggested that it was a "hidden fee", I just pointed out that it is a very high fee for ordering online. As pointed out before, ordering online directly from a restaurant does not usually incur a fee, let alone a $6 fee. If Diana feels that ordering online is so onerous, then maybe she should deactivate that feature and encourage her customers to phone in their orders. Diana should also consider not badgering customers that did not have a good experience with her restaurant and consider taking some classes in Customer Service 101. It's not a good way to run a business and the fastest way to lose customers. ***UPDATE FOLLOWING DIANA M's RESPONSE*** It's unfortunate that the owner responded with excuses and condescension. A simple "Hey, sorry for the mishap, we will make sure it won't happen again" would have sufficed. At least that way, she likely would have had a returning customer since the food is good. But now, no way Jose. And the $5.00 online service fee is egregious. I order quite a bit online and always try to order directly through the restaurants website to avoid fees. I don't know if any other restaurants that charge fees to order online unless there is a delivery involved. --------------------------- Well, not sure what to say. We put in an online order last night, which went through with a $4.95 service fee. (We ordered through their direct site rather than a third party sight to save on fees) If that wasn't bad enough, I showed up at the designated pick up time, and the place was closed. WTF? About an hour later, we were refunded our money, but why is the website taking orders and collecting payments when you're not even open? Talk about inconvenience. And clearly their posted operating hours are inconsistent.
