I was told by a friend that this place was a pretty good Mexican restaurant. We came here, as we were waiting to order we noticed some music coming from the back room. What a surprise it was a bar adjacent to the restaurant divided by a door entry. Will come back some other day to check it out. We placed our food order and decided to dine in. I ordered their Shrimp tacos, and my friend ordered the Carne Asada tacos. A little disappointed that they did not serve the Mexican drinks. All the workers here were extremely nice, and helpful. This is a cute little place that has been around for 32 years! We never knew about it until today! We were so warmly welcomed by the staff, so friendly and so nice! The server got us chips and salsa before even we placed an order. The salsa was so fresh and delicious. When we asked about their vegan options, they said they could customize most of their menu and a lot of things like the rice, beans were already vegan. We ordered a veggie burrito and tofu burrito without the cheese. The burritos were delicious. The veggie burrito reminded me of the authentic food that I had in a small village in Mexico! This was my college yrs place to go for cheap taco meals and cheap drink. It is a small joint (hole in the wall type) that connected to the Reno Room (bar). There are only 2-3 table and window seats but the vibe is cozy, friendly and just fell unwind right away. Foods are great for the prices (it gone up of course but still affordable). Good service since you order directly at the cooking area so it's fun. Glad that I stopped by for good old tacos meals. Parking can a challenge but street parking spots are all around. read more

Been trying to find a good breakfast burrito and this spot set the bar well. Little did I know that after walking in, I was more than surprised and happy to see this spot connected to The Reno Room. While waiting for my breakfast burritos, I walked around the bar to check things out. The breakfast burritos were good. I really enjoyed the carne asada with hash browns and eggs. I really like the red salsa that came with it, and the green sauce wasn't bad. My girlfriend had the chorizo breakfast burrito. And it tasted like her mother made it. She didn't really care for the green sauce, but she did love the red sauce as well. She feels that the tomatoes were not ripe enough to make the green sauce as perfect as it should be. I'm not sure what happened, but the food and experience has decreased in quality. I always order the tacos and I was surprised at the portion size that was served. Both options were flavorful; however, the tofu could be improved by cutting into smaller cubes rather than slices to facilitate easier consumption. The spicy pico de gallo added a nice touch of flavor to the tofu tacos. Personally, I preferred the mushroom tacos and would recommend them, with a gentle caution that mushrooms may occasionally drip. It was Taco Tuesday and decided to get some tacos at coco Renos vs Hole Mole and since coco was nearby, Opted for that. Was very disappointed with the food! I've been here a couple times before and it was good. Last night was a different story. We ordered the fish tacos, shrimp And beef tacos. It was horrible! The tacos were super spicy and the fish tacos looked stale and tasted stale. The beef was decent but could have been better. The tortillas looked dry and tasted bland. And with the fish tacos, it looked like they gave half of what it was supposed to be. Very disappointed with their Taco Tuesday. I would give only one star for the food but the service was good friendly and prompt. Ambiance Is not bad, simple walk in taco Shop. But definitely going to Go for another taco shop. Used to always come here back in the day and loved it so I thought I would stop by as I was close by. I don't think it has changed a bit. There is a small place to park in the back but parking is tight. It's connected to Reno Room as well so you can enter from there too which is around the corner. The complementary chips and salsa are so tasty because the salsa is fire. Same recipe I remember but they definitely turn up the heat. I typically get the carne asada burrito wet. It comes with the typical beans, rice, and meat which is pretty basic but I love the way they season the meat. I could use less or no rice next time as a filler but the burrito is as good as I remember. The burrito also comes with a scoop of sour cream and guacamole and some lettuce if you want to add inside I suppose. It's huge so there will be plenty to share or take as leftovers. Place only has three small tables so it mostly a take out place. I still love it non the less! Simple and delicious. read more

Amazing food and great location. I had heard great things about this restaurant and finally got to try it. I came on a Saturday during the early evening and was seated right away. Our server/hostess gave us chips and salsa within minutes. These were in point and it was hard to save room for the main dish. We ordered 3 carne asada tacos. I ate one and my partner ate 2. They are SUPER filled with meat so I was honestly satisfied off just one. I put the meat that fell of my taco onto the tortilla chips and made makeshift nachos. I like that it is close by and that I can get a carne asada wet burrito without moving my car, but there is definitely better Mexican elsewhere in the city. Haven't been here since COVID hit, but what brought me back in was the recent announcement of a $5 breakfast burrito. I don't care who you are, that's a good deal. Now, when I got it, I understood why it was $5 because it is definitely on the small side, but still a great deal. Also, it is pretty rich with shredded cheese, bacon, eggs and a hash brown patty so you can only have so much of it. For me, the smaller size for less money was just right.
