Terrible service and mediocre food. I decided to cut the server some slack at first but when I overheard her say that she was the owner I could not believe it. She was rude, short and clearly had no serving skills. On top of this the food was meh. Nothing stood out. The corn ribs were the only thing we liked but it's also a simple item that anyone can make at home. We tried the churro dessert- the churros were rock hard... $14 for rocks was criminal. The ice cream was good but I'm assuming they don't make that in house. Overall disappointed. Not worth the drive and the 10 minute time to find parking. We got two of their burritos--asada and I can't remember the other protein--and nachos. The nachos were delicious, but at the same time they were mostly just beans and cheese and some soyrizo. I wish there were some onions and cilantro and guacamole to add more variety to the nachos (but maybe that's not super authentic, so if that's the case then disregard!) As for the burritos, they were HEFTY. My husband and I shared the nachos and then could each only finish half of our burritos. They were delicious though and I really enjoyed the leftovers for dinner as well! I visited PlanTita's Kitchen today for a small to-go lunch and I absolutely loved everything about it. The food was AMAZING. I had two tacos, one shrimp and one mushroom with the side of rice and beans and I also had horchata. Everything was so good, I think the mushrooms packed a little more of a punch because of the chipotle sauce, but the shrimp was refreshing. I was so excited as well for my very first vegan Mexican meal AND dairy-free horchata. I'm very lactose intolerant so everything here was safe for my stomach. I am a ten year vegetarian and when I tell you that this is the best plant based Mexican food I've ever had I mean it. It was me and my friend's first time here, but it wasn't very long until we felt at home as the staff was super nice and welcoming and the restaurant itself is very homey. The waitress let us know how the food is rooted in their grandma's home recipes and we soon found out that abuela was not messing around. We started out with the elote ribs, the corn is so sweet yet savory with all the added spices. Then came the main course, carnitas tacos, beans and rice for me, while my friends got the burrito and the loaded fries. I've eaten a lot of meat substitutes over my tenure being vegetarian, but this is the most realistic tasting carnitas I've ever had. I had 15 years of meat eating experience beforehand, so my judgement is fair. Also I must give a special shoutout to the side of beans that came with my taco plate. They were AMAZING. The little meat crumbles mixed in were delicious. My mouth is literally watering while writing this part of the review. My friends enjoyed their dinner as well and unfortunately because of that there was absolutely no room for dessert. I was able to snag a couple bites of the burrito and it was just as tasty as my tacos. The guacamole on the loaded fries was top tier too. Do y'all see that color???? Been here three times and cannot say enough good things about this place. Food: Tried the flauntas for the first time and the carnitas is well balanced against the cheese and potatoes. They are a nice hefty size and not too small or light. Comes with rice and beans as well so you get a full plate of food plus the two sides. Plus one did the mushroom burrito and it is still the best option from the proteins. The mushrooms are so flavorful and cooked and while we love all of the proteins, the mushrooms work so well in the burrito. Churros, we always say we will not get them, but then do and do not regret it. Next time we will get the appetizers because we want to try more of the food options and get out of the things we always go for. Service: Same server (I think cousin or sister?) of the owner and she's attentive and works hard to manage the tables. Checks in and not overly pushy or anything. Ambiance: Great little place and plenty of tables now that the hype has died down a bit more. It is nice that you are not waiting for tables as long as you did when they blew up on socials. We ordered the loaded fries with mushrooms, taco plate with asada and mushrooms, elote, an asada burrito, and chips and guac. Since it was slow, we did have to call the server from the back a few times. Once more people started coming in, she became much more attentive. Food-wise, the only real complaint was the lack of seasoning in the guac. I had to add salt to pretty much everything except the burrito. This was my first time trying PlanTita's so I ordered four tacos & a burrito to go... that way I could try one of each protein. Asada and Al Pastor were by far my favorites so those are the two proteins I'd get if I go again. My boyfriend got the burrito which was delicious too, but mainly rice and beans. Then one day while delivering for Uber Eats, I noticed people ordering from here and got curious. Today, June 17, 2026, I finally decided to give it a try, and wow--I was blown away! As PlanTita as it gets! This extra delish treasure-like restaurante in the city of Long Beach, off Willow Street is crazy amazing. It's savory with a hint of sweet (Churros on their dessert menu). I knew of P.K. since they opened their doors in 2023, but rarely get to the LBC, except for more recently on trips down, usually with my dinner date. We glanced at their menu online, but got the hard copy of all their offerings including tacos, burritos, plates, starters, plus todo los bebidas on the back of the menu. Beverages on beverages! Beer, Cocktails, Horchata, Soda and my personal favorite, Wine!! When I saw the bottles on display on their gorgeous counter top and beautiful decor #AllAreWelcome I knew this place was gonna be an instant favorite. But let me tell you the food was 12/10, my flauta plate which was going to be the enmoladas (will have them next time), was so rich, cheesy and decadent. Like what magic sauce blended with jackfruit carnitas did I just enjoy? Asking for a friend Novio has their awesome Asada Burrito and we shared a little with each other. 11/10, it was big, beautiful and not heavy. Their chipotle mayo and house made salsa really elevated his meal. Our server was fun, thoughtful and attentive. She had great tips and recommends including on my flauta plate mix up being the best/one of her personal favorites. We definitely noted a few things for our next trip including the elote fried ribs as well as the queso loaded fries (or nachos, or both). Parking is limited in a very very tiny lot, but there's street parking close by off Hayes Ave/Willow St, not to mention on Willow and neighboring blocks Plantita has great decor. Delicious food and good service. I wish I didn't live so far away from PlanTita's Kitchen, because I'd come back often! The prices aren't low, but you're getting food that tastes like it's made with care and attention. I had a burrito with baja shrimp, and it was very satisfying (in fact, more than I could eat in one sitting). Next time I'd try asada or al pastor. We ordered chips for the table, and while they were pricier than we thought chips and salsa should be, they were clearly made in-house and we all enjoyed them. The salsa was just hot enough to have some kick. The restaurant is small and certainly isn't fancy. My only complaint would be that our table was wobbly, something they can hopefully fix. First impressions: the presentation feels rustic and a bit too bare for the price point, though the atmosphere itself is pleasant. Unfortunately, the experience didn't match expectations--our table was dusty, which set a poor tone. Overall, the food is good but nothing to write home about. The flautas plate was tasty, but at over $22, it felt significantly overpriced for the portion and quality. The horchata was confusing--it had a pink color, didn't resemble traditional horchata in flavor, and was initially forgotten, so I had to ask for it. The churros with vanilla ice cream were a nice concept because I've never seen round churros but were underwhelming and the ice cream itself stood out, but they forgot the caramel sauce but included the $2.06 side of 1oz mediocre chocolate sauce. The dish as a whole still didn't justify the price. The queso-loaded fries with drunken beans were good, but again, overpriced for what you get. The guacamole was especially disappointing--bland, under-seasoned, and tasted like plain avocado. Along with the shrimp, which had an unpleasant texture, these were the lowest points of the meal which I would love my money back for. With a total over $85, the experience simply doesn't match the cost. Aside from the vanilla ice cream, nothing stood out as worth returning for. I did not have the best experience here like I thought. I called and placed my order and I was told 20min for my order. I waited 25min because I figured they were probably busy since I only ordered their Taco plate that came with two tacos, rice and beans. I waited a little extra just so I can grab and go. She looked at the bags to see if any of the orders were mine but mine wasn't in that "Ready" section so instead she charges me, leaves to charge two tables other tables, then goes to the kitchen and told them that my order wasn't ready and had them work on it. She said "It'll be right out" At this point I wanted to walk out but I had already paid for my food and hadn't eaten so I had no choice but to wait. I don't mind waiting for good food but wasted time after waiting the given time is not very respectful to me. Time is very valuable for a lot of people that run businesses and I was quite disappointed with this place. Not the safest (several stray cats and slow driving tinted window cars) so not sure I'd bring a whole group here it's somewhat off the beaten path to. That said I got the mushroom burrito and it was delicious. Note I'm not a vegan but I don't like most meats due to fattyness, I know I'm weird. I use to go places like native foods once a month when they were still open. Also if there's a vegan option on menus or restaurants I'll usually try it. And the toughest thing about vegan food is getting the flavors and textures right and this place I can say 100% did it right. SO YUMMY!! I had seen a TikTok raving about this place and had to try it out - and WOW!!! Exceeded all expectations, and I will certainly be back!!! Absolutely delicious! The asada tacos were PHENOMENAL!!! The food itself looked picture perfect and didn't even come close to capturing how flavorful and good it was!!
