The prices aren't low, but you're getting food that tastes like it's made with care and attention. I had a burrito with baja shrimp, and it was very satisfying (in fact, more than I could eat in one sitting). Next time I'd try asada or al pastor. We ordered chips for the table, and while they were pricier than we thought chips and salsa should be, they were clearly made in-house and we all enjoyed them. The salsa was just hot enough to have some kick. The restaurant is small and certainly isn't fancy. My only complaint would be that our table was wobbly, something they can hopefully fix. Omgg our meal was so wonderful!! The owners are so lovely and were very gracious and accommodating with helping me find a meal that was gluten free and celiac safe. First impressions: the presentation feels rustic and a bit too bare for the price point, though the atmosphere itself is pleasant. Unfortunately, the experience didn't match expectations--our table was dusty, which set a poor tone. Overall, the food is good but nothing to write home about. The flautas plate was tasty, but at over $22, it felt significantly overpriced for the portion and quality. The horchata was confusing--it had a pink color, didn't resemble traditional horchata in flavor, and was initially forgotten, so I had to ask for it. The churros with vanilla ice cream were a nice concept because I've never seen round churros but were underwhelming and the ice cream itself stood out, but they forgot the caramel sauce but included the $2.06 side of 1oz mediocre chocolate sauce. The dish as a whole still didn't justify the price. The queso-loaded fries with drunken beans were good, but again, overpriced for what you get. The guacamole was especially disappointing--bland, under-seasoned, and tasted like plain avocado. Along with the shrimp, which had an unpleasant texture, these were the lowest points of the meal which I would love my money back for. OMG! I can't believe how freaking delicious this place is! I live nearby and pass by it all the time. Honestly, I always thought they were selling plants, so I never stopped in. Then one day while delivering for Uber Eats, I noticed people ordering from here and got curious. Today, June 17, 2026, I finally decided to give it a try, and wow--I was blown away! I ordered the flauta plate, and everything from the presentation to the flavor profile was absolutely amazing. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The people here are wonderful too. The owner, chef, and server all rolled into one made the experience even more special. They're welcoming, friendly, and LGBTQ+ friendly, which I truly appreciate. Been here three times and cannot say enough good things about this place. Food: Tried the flauntas for the first time and the carnitas is well balanced against the cheese and potatoes. They are a nice hefty size and not too small or light. Comes with rice and beans as well so you get a full plate of food plus the two sides. Plus one did the mushroom burrito and it is still the best option from the proteins. The mushrooms are so flavorful and cooked and while we love all of the proteins, the mushrooms work so well in the burrito. Churros, we always say we will not get them, but then do and do not regret it. Next time we will get the appetizers because we want to try more of the food options and get out of the things we always go for. Service: Same server (I think cousin or sister?) of the owner and she's attentive and works hard to manage the tables. Checks in and not overly pushy or anything. We ordered the loaded fries with mushrooms, taco plate with asada and mushrooms, elote, an asada burrito, and chips and guac. Since it was slow, we did have to call the server from the back a few times. Once more people started coming in, she became much more attentive. Food-wise, the only real complaint was the lack of seasoning in the guac. I had to add salt to pretty much everything except the burrito. This was my first time trying PlanTita's so I ordered four tacos & a burrito to go... that way I could try one of each protein. Asada and Al Pastor were by far my favorites so those are the two proteins I'd get if I go again. My boyfriend got the burrito which was delicious too, but mainly rice and beans. As PlanTita as it gets! This extra delish treasure-like restaurante in the city of Long Beach, off Willow Street is crazy amazing. It's savory with a hint of sweet (Churros on their dessert menu). It's all dine inside, but they clearly do great takeout and delivery as we noted a handful of orders being picked up as well as more people coming in to feast. I knew of P.K. since they opened their doors in 2023, but rarely get to the LBC, except for more recently on trips down, usually with my dinner date. We glanced at their menu online, but got the hard copy of all their offerings including tacos, burritos, plates, starters, plus todo los bebidas on the back of the menu. Beverages on beverages! Beer, Cocktails, Horchata, Soda and my personal favorite, Wine!! When I saw the bottles on display on their gorgeous counter top and beautiful decor #AllAreWelcome I knew this place was gonna be an instant favorite. But let me tell you the food was 12/10, my flauta plate which was going to be the enmoladas (will have them next time), was so rich, cheesy and decadent. I've eaten a lot of meat substitutes over my tenure being vegetarian, but this is the most realistic tasting carnitas I've ever had. I had 15 years of meat eating experience beforehand, so my judgement is fair. Also I must give a special shoutout to the side of beans that came with my taco plate. They were AMAZING. The little meat crumbles mixed in were delicious. My mouth is literally watering while writing this part of the review. My friends enjoyed their dinner as well and unfortunately because of that there was absolutely no room for dessert. I did not have the best experience here like I thought. I called and placed my order and I was told 20min for my order. She said "It'll be right out" At this point I wanted to walk out but I had already paid for my food and hadn't eaten so I had no choice but to wait. Not the safest (several stray cats and slow driving tinted window cars) so not sure I'd bring a whole group here it's somewhat off the beaten path to. I use to go places like native foods once a month when they were still open. Also if there's a vegan option on menus or restaurants I'll usually try it. Wow, I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw a Vegan Mexican joint opened up in the West Side of Long Beach but boy was it good! When you look at the menu itself, it doesn't at all scream Vegan--they have all the dishes you'd expect and even a breakfast menu; there are plenty of proteins to choose from none of which are animal-based but do resemble respective meat choices. The menu also details what's in everything so you know what you're getting. I opted to try a carne asada burrito and I honestly wouldn't have known it was not meat! It's like some kind of magic trick. It had just the right amount of spice and kick to it and was super flavorful. There's a sauce drizzle on the outside of the burrito so just keep in mind you'll probably have to eat it with a fork and knife unless you like getting your hands very dirty (possibly you could ask not to have it if you want to eat it with your hands?). It can be a bit on the pricier side but I think that's to be expected when creating Vegan food at this level of flavor and quality of ingredients. The burrito was pretty filling though, I was super full after just half so you could definitely make 2 meals out of it which balances the price out a bit. The inside of the restaurant is super cute and looks brand new, service is really friendly and food came out pretty fast for a to-go order. Decent (albeit overpriced) food; terrible customer service. My partner and I came in on a Friday evening, and there was a party of 6 people in the center of the restaurant that were being extremely loud/rowdy (probably drunk). The restaurant is small and sound bounces off the walls easily, so it was impossible for us to hear each other (or the waitress) without yelling. The loud party had already finished their food around the time my partner and I arrived, but they stayed in the restaurant seemingly just to continue chatting. After waiting about 20 minutes for our food while the party continued at the same volume, we decided to take our food to-go because we couldn't tolerate the volume anymore. We waited for about 15 more minutes (in complete silence, since we literally couldn't talk to each other) and then went up to pay for our food and leave. My partner and I complained about the volume, and instead of asking the party to quiet down or leave, the staff just apologized and said there was nothing they could do. They charged my partner in full, and then when we opened our food in the car, the chips & guac were under-salted, and we realized they didn't give him half of his order (rice & beans were missing). We couldn't go back inside to get his food because the restaurant had closed by that point. I find it to be a genuinely baffling customer service decision to allow a party to stay and completely overtake your small restaurant by constantly yelling and hollering, well after they have finished their food, at the expense of everyone else in the establishment. The staff agreed that the volume was too much and could have easily politely asked them to quiet down or leave, but instead, they acted as if there was nothing they could do. I am by default sympathetic to small businesses (especially vegan ones), but this experience completely destroyed my opinion of PlanTitas. My partner and I will not be coming back here. read more
