I love the handmade cards and the candles. I loved the plants and the open concept where the doors open to the outside. The whole set up makes this place so inviting but also entirely cozy feel it's fantastic! I had an absolutely great experience on a Saturday! It was so good that I came back the very next day on Sunday to get the same thing. Unfortunately, I couldn't even consume my order the second day. I ordered the green machine smoothie which was absolutely phenomenal the first day the second day it was an entirely different color and crazy sour taste. The front end person making my drink told me that this was due to the differing amounts of spinach each person makes it with. The crazy thing was this second smoothie wasn't green like the first day so how does less spinach make it sour?? Honestly it seemed like the milk went bad and they didn't want to say anything. They didn't remake my drink and seemed offended when I asked clarification on why it was an entirely different color and taste. Here's to a well-deserved updated review to end the year. Since posting my first review for them, RightMealz has become family. Chris Sweeney has become a beacon for the local community (Long Beach and Los Angeles). He speaks up for many who have been through it within the past year, and never makes you feel like you're forgotten. Admittedly, sometimes I've avoided stopping in due to funds being tight and he's let myself and the community know he's here for us. I've volunteered with RightMealz during the fires that devastated the greater LA area. He was the one who put our city on the map first with multiple drives for necessities, and delivered with a uhaul regularly. Usually, I fiend for the avocado toast with a slightly runny egg because chef knows how to make it just right. I pair it with a lavender latte, or an iced Chai latte. Other times I'm checking the fridge for chef's turkey mushroom meatballs with cashew cheese. I do not like turkey or mushrooms... But that meal is cleverly made to make me eat both and want more. My SO loves the breakfast bowls in house. I'm a sucker for the open-air space. I take people to RightMealz for the food, ambiance, and for the hospitality. Decided to try something new and healthy for lunch and RightMealz delivered! I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl with veggies today, and the chicken was very flavorful and juicy. Veggies were grilled and seasoned perfectly. Service was on point, as the cashier and owner were incredibly nice. They recommended I try the chicken bowl based off what I was in the mood for. The restaurant's decor is very trendy yet cozy. I could see myself grabbing a smoothie and just kicking it on the couch haha. So glad I stumbled upon this gem of a cafe. I have recently gone gluten free and dairy free and this cafe was perfect! So many healthy options that are GF and dairy free friendly so I didn't feel like I was making a compromise by eating here! I ordered their seasonal Fall Turmeric Latte which is made with their in house vanilla syrup that is naturally sugar free (loved that)! I ordered their breakfast bowl and it was delicious, all the flavors went well together. Only critique is that the sweet potato's were a tad undercooked. Other than that everything was great. Because of its location, I would have given this place a shot even if it only sold WrongMealz. Get it? WrongMealz? ;). I bought a cookie the size of a cheap frisbee for $5, and a mineral water that was probably another 2 or $3. This place can miss me with its $17 avocado toast. A whole avocado is still only $3. Does toast account for the rest of the price? 5 stars because the cookie was very good, the staff was helpful, and the space was quiet. Zero chance I look to this place for an actual meal though. I found a whole hair in my burrito and on top of that, it wasn't even that good. Burrito was dry no sauce. Adding a couple cubes of chicken to the bowl would have cost me $10 alone. Right Mealz is great on food and service. Visited last week for the 3rd time. Options are super tasty. Portions are measured it seems which aligns with the idea of health, but far too pricey for the outcome of what lands in the plate. I can't imagine spending $26 dollars a day for a bowl and a small latte. Make the food a bit more robust and I wouldn't care. I both love and hate the location. Transient activity far too close to the entry way and along the walkway. The facility itself is so nice. Great seating and lots of sun. Such a shame. I know it's not their fault but it's a huge part of the star decline- that and the portion sizes. Also a slight fruit fly issue which was a bit tiring to address. I also noticed last week they use those standard barista syrups in their drinks. Please get rid of those and make your own or source the syrups without all the junk in them. Perhaps the staff/owner/cook was distracted due to the network news crews and police camped out a short distance away. One would never know that a slew of crime problems was attracting such attention because we were enjoying a really peaceful and sedate lunch in the amicable outside seating area. Convenient parking is directly across the tree lined street. Combine this with positively delightful attention from both Chris and his server and this was a high star experience. Yet, the items that we ordered could use some tweaking. As mentioned, it could have been an off day because the menu is nicely thought out and dishes are beautifully arrangled. This new attempt at a healthy life still hits all the right notes whereas the execution of the food has not. The turkey chorizo tasted dry and needs some rethinking to give it a better texture, The grilled vegetables were mostly difficult to eat. While the charred squash and peppers were perfectly tender with both delicious aioli and hummus added, the broccolini fought back. The carrots and cucumbers seemed blackened but raw and crudités require more compatible sauces for dipping. Staff very pleasantly welcomed any feedback.
