So starting off with a full disclaimer, I'm a total snob with Mediterranean food. I grew up on it. All the flavors and textures are embedded into my very DNA. It takes a lot to impress me. That being said, for a chain, Luna Grill is actually pretty solid. Came in on a Wednesday evening, it was busy but there was plenty of seating. Service was friendly and patient. We tried the classic pita with gyro and schug (aka zhoug), loaded fries, and a kids meal (kids eat free Mon-Thur, so long as you download their app). All of the ingredients in the pita tasted fresh and the veggies still had a nice crunch. The gyro meat was flavorful and not too dry. Their schug is definitely an unsung hero in their condiment lineup -- if you've never tried it, think of it as like chimichurri's spicy, minty cousin. It's addictive and so good. Their tzatziki is also chef's kiss. The fries were a little pricey for what you get, but are delicious. Adding a protein and making it a whole meal might be the way to go with this one. I am pleased that I now have a Luna Grill so close to home. The food is always fresh and delicious here! The staff are super accommodating and always make conversation with me. Stunning new location next to CSULB, but my food was salty. Two new restaurants next to each other in the plaza recently opened and I chose to try Luna Grill. Luna does fast casual Mediterranean. They have plates, pita sandwiches, bowls and salads. You can mix and match chicken, gyros, falafels, koobideh and kabobs. Crunchy Pita with Gyros and Fries - My pita arrived stuffed to the brim with goodies. It came with an extra sauce and the fries were a good portion size and were tossed in their seasoned salt. The pita sandwich had a good balance of veggies, crunchy stuff, sauce and meat. Where the dish took a turn was that the fries were double salted and then the gyros meat also seemed extra salty. The cashier was helpful and the food arrived quickly. The restaurant is new and spotless inside. I'm hoping the salty food is due to only being open a month, everything was good other that. Not sure why it happened to both the fries and the gyros which are both different prep processes, but hopefully it's something the restaurant can check on. read more

Holy cow, some of the best Mediterranean food we have here, especially as far as take-out! Beats Olives on 4th and rivals, if not beats Zankou Chicken. I got their lamb plate with hummus and pita and their pita was so fluffy and delicious!! The hummus as smooth, flavorful, and one of my favorites in the city (even over Open Sesame and the other spots I named already), and the lamb and rice were so perfectly cooked. Soooo good! Always my favorite go to. The Santorini Bowl has a little bit of everything. We are definitely excited to have this location near us. I do miss having the shrimp. I understand it was seasonal. But the roasted garlic lemon shrimp was next level. I usually get the chopped chicken which is pretty good. Service is always great. Not to say I don't like the food, I just think the pricing is a bit high for what you get and this kind of food is everywhere. Just an opinion from someone who doesn't like chain restaurants. We've always really liked Luna Grill so we're very happy to see one pop up in our area, as the closest one before was in Cerritos. This location is very clean and staff is always very welcoming. Last time we went, Gianna took our order and answered some questions we had about the menu, and she was so sweet and helpful! The food has been consistently hot, fresh, and delicious. The food was tasty and fresh, but it is fast food. Lots of options for vegetarians. Basically they would sub substitute falafel for any of the meat. Ordered the Santorini bowl and substituted the chicken for falafel. Boyfriend ordered the falafel kebab with a side of Mediterranean salad and their spicy hummus. You get two sides with each kebab. Service was good. It's kind of like a café. Not fancy - casual. Parking in the shopping center can at times be challenging as they have several restaurants in a busy space. A small gesture that goes far when plenty of these types of establishments just treat customers as numbers. Another thing that stood out is Luna Grill's more defined menu. The medi macro leans into the health benefits of a Mediterranean diet. I ordered my food and waited about 30 minutes for it to come out. The restaurant wasn't even busy--there was only one other person waiting for food besides me. The wait time was pretty disappointing considering how slow it was. After finally receiving my food, the chicken was burnt and the rice was cold.
