Very nice little pizza place near Cal State Long Beach. Seems like a great place to catch a game grab a beer and pizza and eat with friends. Seems like there's a lot of locals that fine here too. They also have a very nice salad bar with lettuce and all kinds of different toppings, including mozzarella cheese and small slices of diced ham. The lettuce was very fresh and all produce looked great. If you're a student, they have tons of lunch specials. I would definitely try them out. read more

Pizzamania is our favorite neighborhood pizza place. No special toppings...just good basic pizza with a crust that's doughy in a good way. We like to take it home and heat it on a pan so the bottom gets crispy. The salad bar is also really good at an affordable price. And hubby likes to come for the lunch specials -- they have sandwiches and pizza slice combos that come with salad and a drink. Tonight we got a large pepperoni. When I walked in, Sergio knew my order. There is a good-sized seating area with TVs to watch the games and a few video games for the kids. It's not usually too crowded. This place is good for a quick and affordable lunch. I essentially work next door at the university so when I'm running short on time during my lunch hour, this is a good spot to pick up something. I've only tried the pizza slice lunch special and the sandwich lunch special. Both come with a trip to the salad bar and a soda. The pizza is good. They have that puffy crust kind of pizza, that sort of reminds me of Costco pizza. With the lunch special, you can get pepperoni or cheese. For the sandwich special, it says it's a 1/2 sandwich, but it's like a 6/7" sub so pretty sizable. I've tried the pastrami, and the meat itself was decent, but the condiments and pickles were lacking. The highlight for me is the salad bar, which if you have good piling skills can be pretty sizable. It's not a huge bar, but they have nice, fresh toppings, including pepperoni and ham. I like to get a big salad to fool myself into thinking I'm eating healthier even though I drown it in dressing. read more

After my pizza spot BURNED DOWN ive been needing a new place. I knew pizzamania whittier wasnt a chain so imagine my surprise when it came up in long beach! They are related or they used to be. Anyway, i ordered my usual. Since i called it in it came out fast. It was HOT and exactly as i wanted. My only issue is it needed more sauce & im sure i can just have them put on extra next time. Really good pizza tucked away in LBC. First time here, but very familiar with a location in Whittier with the same name and really liked their pizza so why not. Much smaller location, but food was pretty good and salad bar was a nice touch. Not a ton of options, but very fresh ingredients. The pastrami pizza was really good and loved how crispy the crust was. Wings were very good as well. Love how friendly they are and how they come and check up on you to make sure all is good. Whenever back in LBC this is a must stop pizzeria. This place has been a long-time neighborhood favorite establishment and has withstood the comings and goings of businesses over the years. It is located in the subtle food scene of the CSULB neighborhood. There's a medium size dining area, but it's also pretty obvious (an unintentional decoration of pizza boxes) that they make a huge bulk of their output through take-out. Parking is tight as it shares a small lot with other businesses but if you go during a low-peak time during the day, it shouldn't be an issue. Order at the counter, and find a table. They have a variety of pizza toppings to choose from. We ordered a large Ham pizza (The Huz' favorite) and just to make sure we had enough food, we also ordered a small Sausage Pizza and a small Pepperoni Pizza. I love chicken wings so I also ordered the lunch special of 7 chicken wings (BBQ because they didn't have Garlic Parmesan available) which comes with a small salad (self-serve and with fresh ingredients) and a small self-serve drink. Everything we had was delicious and what one would expect from a pizza meal. Overall it's a good value and a good place to have a meal with a small (or maybe even large) group. The amount of food we ordered was enough to fill us all up, plus leftovers--we're not mad about taking home Pizza for future eating. The service was adequate--friendly and accommodating. read more

The big girl at the register is so rude. I would frequent this place as it's next to the campus. The place offers a student discount to attract more students. I've noticed that I've been paying full price even when they applied the discount. I asked the cashier about this and she smiled like she got caught stealing. She said she didn't know how to apply the discount. I came back a month later thinking she has figured it out. Nope. She said the discount applied to certain items. She basically said I had to order an XL pizza to get the 10% student discount. I just wanted a slice of pizza and a salad. Then she said won't apply the discount because she doesn't know the system. I will not ding Pizzamania for the screw up - we love their Pizza which is why I ordered a large pepperoni pizza for the men working in our yard today. I will just give a warning for others like me who don't order food and are not as savvy. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza on this Yelp site and apparently it automatically goes to grub hub. Also it has a default of "contactless delivery". So apparently the driver leaves the pizza on my front porch with ABSOLUTELY NO NOTICE!! No knock, no email - just drops it off. I finally call the pizza place and they tell me it was picked up 30 mins ago ( we live 5 min away). I walk aside to find a cold, cheese pizza (NO pepperoni like I ordered). My new favorite local pizza joint! Tens across the board from the freshest ingredients to watching them grate fresh mozzarella cheese for their pizzas! Even the chicken on the buffalo chicken pizza was fresh and juicy! Crunchy veggies and a very clean and well stocked salad bar! The pizza crust was perfect and like they say if the pizza crust is good the pizza is going to be great! The only thing I would criticize would be the ranch dressing! Super watery but in the grand scheme of things that does not even matter because everything else was 10/10 read more

I found Pizzamania back in 2005 and I have been eating there ever since. The staff there has always been so friendly. Over my lifetime I have had many pizza's from many places, but theirs is by far is the best pizza within 100 miles of Long Beach. The staff is always kind and if you've been there a few times they will even greet you by name... that's just how they are. The crust is fantastic and as for the toppings well how do I say this... They actually add toppings. I don't know about you, but I've had pizza where I was left thinking Ummm, could you spare a mushroom or an olive? Not there! Pizzamania tops their pizza generously. This place has been added into our family's rotation of favorite pizza spots. The dough is my favorite part- it's super soft and fluffy so even the crust is a big part of the appeal. The prices are fair and their salad bar is good, too. They have two or three games that the kids like to play when we go there. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the customer service is comically terrible. We literally laugh at how incredibly rude the girls that work the register are. One of the girls is much more rude than the other. One time we were ordering and my husband ordered a sandwich. She asked him if he wanted the sandwich, hot or cold? And he said, "oh, hmm how is that hot?" And she gave him an annoyed look and said, "it's heated up." LOL Then one time my four-year-old dropped his cup on the ground before we were able to get a drink, so I asked her for another one and she pursed her lips tilted her head like she definitely did not believe me and then rolled her eyes and gave me another one. I think it speaks to how good the pizza is that we still come back here pretty often despite how rude the customer service is. I went in being the only customer at the time and I looked over at the menu and ordered myself a slice of pepperoni and cheese combo which entails a small salad and a soda. The young woman placed a tray with a cup and an empty bowl. Empty huh? And i glanced to the right of me and noticed that there was a salad bar. Woohoo. I didn't get greedy. Just a bit of lettuce, a few slices of cucumber, kalamata olives and doused it with Italian dressing. Then when I went over to get my drink, I saw Barq Root Beer. YES!!!!!!! Haven't had some in ages. Pizza - to my surprise, it was very good. The dough was thick and fluffy but not soggy. Guess it was from all of his air tosses. The crust was nice and crunchy. Wish the entire slice was like the crust. It was lovely. The pepperoni wasn't overly salty which I get sick of from other pizzerias. The only thing that kinda surprised me is that the prices seem less a value. It was never great pizza but it isn't bad and the sizes are generous. I DO NOT recommend this business! Most unprofessional interaction I've ever had as a customer! We popped in on a Thursday evening for a quick bite but had the worst and rudest response from the employee. It was our first time here, so we ordered two slices and waited patiently for our food. The staff did not give us a dine-in number or communicate with us about the wait time. No worries, it was pretty empty at this time and we just thought they just needed to warm up the premade slices. But after about 10 minutes of waiting and seeing full pizzas go in and out, we asked if everything was alright with our order. The woman working the register responded "yeah they're warming them up" and walked away. At this point, we were a bit confused and disappointed, so we asked for a refund (which we received). What happened next was that things got bizarre. The young woman working the register handed us a receipt and said "next time, don't be so rude." We were shocked and when we tried to understand her and why this was happening, she began to berate and insult us. In front of other customers, she attempted to instigate a fight with us! This level of rudeness and aggression was shocking, unwarranted, and hateful. I really don't like leaving a negative review, so we tried to call the following day to speak with a manager about our experience. Unfortunately, the person who answered the phone hung up on us and ignored our calls once they heard our request. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Long Beach, but this is clearly not one of them. I am not exaggerating when I say that this restaurant is the single most disrespectful and unprofessional place we've ever attempted to dine at.
