First off, I would like to say that I have literally said out loud during previous team parties at other locations that Long Beach needs a legit pizza and arcade spot to hold parties that actually has good food! And tonight I found it! Ok, now that aside... this place checked all my boxes. The service was great- fast and friendly, thanks Christina! The portions were huge, the food came really fast and was piping hot and it was DELICIOUS. I told my husband that this just may take the cake for my new favorite pizza spot. Really good food and really good service! We had a party here for my cousins graduation and all of the food they served was delicious! I loved the salads, the Brussels sprouts, meatballs, and of course the pizza! The pepperonis were crispy and even and little spicy! Inside they have a lot of space and it looks very nice. Definitely a casual type of feel. We were in there event/party room and it was pretty big but for the amount of people we had it was a little cramped haha. Good enough space to sit down just not move around. The service was awesome! The waitress was super attentive! She remembered was everyone ordered! It was great! We went for a baseball team party. I was initially worried because two other teams were also having their party in addition to the regular diners. It was packed on a Wednesday night. Once we were seated, the servers took our orders and put each family's food/drinks on a separate tab which was super helpful. Ate here for our adult son's birthday. First time here. Very spacious inside, good for families or watching a sporting event. They also have a cool, small arcade for kids. We ordered the wings, the elote pizza, and a half sausage, half haight ashbury pizza. The pizzas are big and only come in one size. But you can order pizza by the slice. The wings were good, the elote pizza tasted more like Mexican street food on a pizza, but pretty good. The half and half was good, too, but probably wouldn't get the haight ashbury again as it was a bit too heavy on the veggies for me to think of it as pizza. read more

Long time Friday lunch customers here. Something was very off today. The server--didn't catch her name (blondish curly hair with clear rimmed glasses) who has served us countless times before is normally very responsive, but today I can truly say her service ranks as about the worst I've ever experienced anywhere. The difference between the past experiences with her and today is like night and day. I feel like there is something personal going on with her. She was totally and completely checked out. She shouldn't be working. To MANAGEMENT...please inquire after her mental health or at least get someone else to assist her with the Friday lunch shift. She was very abrasive when we arrived. Was offended that we were going to sit in a booth. We hadn't realized it hadn't been cleaned up yet. After we were seated, it took literally 10 minutes for menus to arrive. Another 10 minutes to take the order, and then she served our beers AFTER the food arrived. She asked one of our party if they'd like a taste of a certain beer before ordering a pint. When she came back she gave everyone else their drinks and completely forgot that she had even offered a taste to our other party member. It was pretty bizarre. Looked at our guest quizzically and literally said "What was it again that you ordered?" Wow! Well after the food came, she randomly dropped off a couple cups of ranch which no one asked for. No one at our table said a word. We all just sort of looked at each other like WTF is happening? When it came time for the bill the server was quite confused about splitting the bill. We literally have done this so many times with both her and other servers. She just walks away and didn't come back. So, we (and one other party) had to walk up to pay the bill so we could all leave in a timely manner. So, what does she do at the counter? She rings up the entire bill on the register and gives one of our party a malevolent smile. She knew what we asked for and willfully decided she was not going to allow us to split the bill. So the first person in line basically had to pay for everything. It was very disconcerting and she didn't say so much as a word as we all walked out. She was apparently too engrossed with a conversation she was having with a See's Candy employee who works next door to care about her customers. I personally don't EVER want to be served by this person again. You've tarnished what was previously a very enjoyable Friday lunch spot for us for over a year running now. There are plenty of other options we will seek out in the future. read more

IT'S TOO LOUD. Not conductive to a nice meal when you have to yell! We celebrated a birthday yesterday and tradition dictates we get take out. With 7 relatives, there are an equal amount of palates. My first legit gripe was I could barely hear the order taker over the extreme banging and clanging of the kitchen and he could barely hear me. I would have ordered on line but as D4 virgins, we did have more questions and requests. Understandably the one request denied was 1/2 a pep pizza combined with 1/2 elote because the sauces are different. Save that for another day. The order was being packaged when our army of 4 arrived. Now understand, raising 3 baseball players from t-ball to high school years ago, we spent countless hours and countless dollars with teams, meetings, gatherings at the former Ecco's. For years, it was our meeting place and the nosiest house in LB! But we loved it! Briefly, with a Sunday afternoon crowd including little league teams (moving the arcade from the back door to the middle of the restaurant=BIG MISTAKE) it was unbearably loud. We probably won't ever dine in. I wonder if because they removed the barrier of booths mid way it just created an echo chamber. But, the pizzas, antipasto salads, moz sticks and chicken strips were unanimously voted great! It was "the best pizza I've ever had!" This comes from 2 kids-to-adults who lived on pizza growing up. As the treat-er I was perfectly fine with the $150 (including tip) tab. Especially considering 2 households have leftover pizza for another go-round tonight. Not only was she taking care of our large party, but she was also managing several other tables at the same time. Despite the hustle, she made sure everyone--us and her other guests--received exceptional service. Ashley handled every request with a smile, kept everything running smoothly, and delivered prompt, professional, and friendly service throughout the evening. Let me be clear, the pizza is very good but my rating for the pizza is 4/5. The atmosphere is nice and so are the staff. What really surprised me is how good the sauce is. We tried 4 different pizzas (including one gluten free), calamari, arugula salad, fries, 3 types of wings and a few pitchers and everything was delicious. We had 15 people attended and they all loved everything from the private space with 4 TVs, the food and most of all, the spectacular service provided by Jennifer. Had our son's 7th birthday here as a last minute "casual" celebration and it was great! Perfect atmosphere for parents to watch sports and the arcade was just enough for him and 6 of his friends. It was also easy to keep an eye on them while sitting at the tables. We pretty much had the place to ourselves on a Sunday at noon. Our waitress Jennifer was amazing. Went for the first time since Ecco's closed down. This place ain't Eccos. Sorry for the comparison but Ecco's was the bomb. D4 crust isn't bad but it is thin with a slight crisp. The sauce is a bit bland but they don't put much cheese on their pies. It was pretty thin. Really couldn't taste any mozzarella, more the Parmesan. Ecco's cheese was thick, rich buttery and stretched. No such thing here. Ecco's sausage and pepperoni was flavorful and spicy, not here. For $24 I expected more. Again Ecco's is gone and this place style is different. It was ok but not worth going back to. They did do a nice job redecorating the place. read more

We visited District 4 Pizza again and they have made changes (in a positive way) to the menu they opened with. They no longer have both round and square pizzas, but are going with one size 18" round which is 8 large slices. You can ask for double cut, which is more manageable for kids. They also now offer a few of their pizzas by the slice. My favorite pizza is still the Elote, which is not offered by the slice, but my husband got the "Meatball Hiro Panino" and it was Heaven between house made focaccia! This is a close second favorite for me. I can honestly say, if you're looking for amazing pizza and a very family friendly atmosphere, make sure you pay a visit to District 4 Pizza, you won't be disappointed. read more

As a long time Eccos lover, we decided to give District 4 a chance and I'm so glad we did! I will say no, the pizza is not like Eccos. BUT the pizza we got was delicious and the crust is exactly what I want my pizza crust to be. Nice and light but crispy. We got the Meatball Mafia pizza which tasted like lasagna. I feel like I'm picky when it comes to meatballs but these were SO good and fresh. It's supposed to have hot honey on it and I didn't taste it at all so not sure if it doesn't have much flavor or if it missed the pizza completely. We also got the mozzarella sticks, and unfortunately these were a big miss. The breading was good, but the cheese was completely solid. I understand getting mozzarella sticks for takeout aren't going to be fantastic, but the texture of the cheese made me gag. It is pricier than most pizza places around, but we're excited to come back and try other pizzas. Since they recently opened they were super busy but got my food in the time they said. Tried to call in an order at 7:00pm on Tuesday...no answer, just rings. Called at least 4 times. Drove in to put a to go order in person...no small pizzas, only the large...not sure why. The menu posted here in the images is wrong...there are no sandwiches either. Pizza was ok, I got a Barwinkles (BBQ Chicken) for me and a Half Pepperoni/Half bacon for the kids. $55 for two pizzas is a bit much. The bbq chicken was the better of the two. The standard red sauce pizza looked cheese anemic and my wife said it tasted very tomatoey. The sourdough crust had a nice chewy texture but I wish it had a little more marbling and crisp to it. Speak Cheezy by far owns the title as best sourdough crust pizza in Long Beach, this is a C+ to their A+ in that regard. Lots of tvs, plenty of seating (it's a big place), and a better aesthetic than Ecco's before it. I'll try it again in 6 months after they've worked out the early opening blues. read more
