Pizza is one of my favorite foods and so my standard for pizza are pretty high. I would give this a 7 out of 10. The crust was my favorite part thick and great flavor. Sadly there was barely any sauce on the pizza which really impacted the flavor. Loved the cheesiness and veggies on top. We ordered to go and that was a pretty easeful process. Staff were kind and supportive.

This place is awesome! I love the decor it has a mob movie theme and I'm a huge fan of mob films. The staff is very welcoming and it is nice and tidy inside. The deep dish pizza was a thing of beauty! The dough was perfect the cheese pull was phenomenal. This was some good quality pie!

We enjoyed a nice family diner recently at Big E Pizza on a Friday night just after 5pm. Got seated immediately, order was taken quickly. Quite a few tables to eat there, and atmosphere was comfortable if a little basic. Service was friendly and available but I wouldn't call it attentive. Dinner salad came out fast but pizza took 40+ minutes; sure it was busy in there but should a pizza take 40 minutes? On the upside, the pizza was pretty good; we had a meat lovers and cheese, and the kids enjoyed it. Nicely browned crust, well cooked, pizzeria-style pie: heavy on cheese & meat toppings, and a thick and slightly floppy crust. Everything tasted fresh but nothing jumped out flavor-wise, and that's why I'm not sure that it's a pizza I'd crave and hunt down, but the kids liked it so who knows. This place isn't fancy or pretentious, but has some solid pizza, no wonder they've been around since 1986.

Random but true!! This gentleman walks into my jobs. D provides the most amazing pitch in pizza that our entire team just had to try! Well I'm sorry there's only 1 pic. However, this individual sized pizza fed 4 people and the wings were amazing as well! I sat alone and felt like a queen with too much food I had to share later! This isn't your typical Pizza Hut this is authentic and amazing!!! See you all soon

Amazing food my family has been coming here for years but yesterday we went to dine in and the service of the waiter was bad. I had to keep getting up and asked her for things and I don't know if that's normal or not because we always get takeout .but she would look at us and not ask if we needed help or anything and then there was these two dudes next to us waiting to get some service because they had the menu and they ended up deciding to leave because the lady she had kept looking at them and walking away and in my opinion that was just rude because we had asked her for some drinks and she looked straight at them and decided to walk away they waited a good minute I'm not the one to complain this is my first yelp review and my dad loves this place I love this place but tell the waiter to refill the paper flakes bc she told me to go get them at another table and they were all almost empty .

most authentically italian chicken fettucine alfredo in the game service here is always lightning fast i wish they made eggplant parm (but there's a sandwich that's like kinda close)

We love Big E Pizza! It's in our top 3 "go to" pizza places. It always hits the spot! The cheesy goodness is so delicious. Bonus: they are open super late.

Not the best picture, we had already dug in! Delish, as always.

Looking for a great authentic Italian mobster themed restaurant ? Well look no further than the good old famous Big E's right in Signal Hill. This place always has a steady stream of happy customers at all hours of the day (seriously look at how late they stay open!). You can order at the counter and take it to go, or dine in. Service is exceptional and fast. This place is great for parties large and small. Great prices for the portions of food. I always end up having plenty of leftovers for the next day. Everything on the menu is legit. I really like seeing the owner's checking on their customers and thanking them for being there. Plenty of parking out front. Definitely wear your stretchy pants and FUGGET ABOUT IT !

I called ahead to let them know we'd be about 10 minutes late. I was told they hold reservations for up to 15 minutes, so I figured we were fine. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our table had already been given away, and we had to wait another 10 minutes or so. That said, once we got past the initial hiccup, things really turned around. The small waiting area had a cozy charm, and walking into the outdoor back patio--with a live saxophonist playing--felt genuinely magical. The food absolutely delivered. The spaghetti carbonara was spot on, and the lasagna was just as impressive. We finished with tiramisu and cannoli, and honestly, it felt like we were transported back to Italy. Despite the rocky start, the ambiance and food made it a memorable experience.

The food is absolutely delicious, and the service has never been short of amazing. When you walk in, you're greeted by a gorgeous mosaic of Mediterranean decor. The interior is what I would imagine a restaurant in Italy would look like - exposed brick, lots of fun framed pictures and posters, fresh flowers and plants, and even a Vespa. It's warmly lit and such a great vibe for dinner. I always order the paccheri crema di scampi, which is their large rigatoni in a cream sauce with lobster and shrimp. This is my absolute favorite pasta dish. I clean the plate of all sauce remnants - no joke. It's creamy and savory and wonderfully balanced with the acidity of the tomato. The seafood is never overcooked or rubbery, and the rigatoni is a perfect al dente. They also make one of the best tiramisus I've tried. I love tiramisu, and the ratio of mascarpone to ladyfinger here is perfect! Not to mention, their ladyfingers aren't dry or overly soggy with espresso. Soo delicious. The service is lovely. The servers are attentive and welcoming, and the food comes out in a timely manner. They also give great wine recommendations to pair with your food. I would recommend making a reservation to ensure that you've secured a table, especially for celebrations or holidays. Without a reservation, the wait can be some time during peak hours. Visually, the burger was impressive and looked exactly like something you'd want to dig into. However, the salt level was overwhelming to the point where I genuinely could not finish it. What made matters worse was that our server was not attentive with refilling our waters, and when you're working through an extremely salty dish, hydration isn't optional. I left the meal feeling dehydrated and honestly a little frustrated. The bright spot of the visit was the Brussels sprouts, which were genuinely well done and showed some real kitchen care. If I were to return, I'd probably stick to the vegetable sides. For a restaurant with a 4 PM lull and minimal table traffic, there's no excuse for that level of inattentiveness. A simple water refill and a quick check in would have saved the experience. As it stands, the combination of an over salted entrée and absent service made for a tough sell on the value. If you're in the area craving a burger, you might want to save your money and head down the street to Louis Burger instead. Ellie's may shine in other areas; I've heard good things about the pasta, but this particular visit missed the mark.

We'd be happy to come down again in traffic, because it's absolutely worth the drive here. Some find the pizza sizes small or the prices high in comparison to your average pizza joint - but your average, everyday pizza place in California is just...ew. Their crust is very thin, Neapolitan style in a brick oven, beautiful and a little chewy, slightly-charred from the brick oven. Amazing texture. Traditionalists, so we just got the Margherita and Bianco, adding some mushrooms and a drizzle of truffle. SOO good. We also tried the fried zucchini blossoms, which were very light and not oily at all. Caesar salad was very delicious and fresh, also had the octopus, which was perfectly grilled and like eating steak. To finish, we had some amazing coffee with tiramisu. Wow. Not usually a fan, but their tiramisu was super light, not overly sweet, and super good. Thanks to our wonderful server, Diana ! Super friendly and everything came out quickly. Big pieces, soft inside, crispy batter, and plenty of marinara. We also tried the creamy garlic salad and chicken marsala, which were both good.
