Skewers

Why did I wait so long to eat here??? Food is fantastic, service is great, vibes are so cutesy. Food: spicy hummus wasn't too spicy. Smooth and very good. Arugula and beet salad was FIRE. Pita is perfect. Skip the chicken skewers and go with beef or steak instead. Shrimp skewers were great. Beer and wine only! Parking: structure nearby, 2 hours free Wait: 5 minutes on Saturday right before 5pm. Get the reservation if you have a group or go later than that. Such a good place for groups, events, or dates. Absolutely staying in the rotation.

Found Infatuation's 20 Best Restaurants in the LBC and made a last minute reservation. Caught the beginning of the Dinner menu at 3pm with my niece and a friend of hers for an award celebration! Faryn took great care of us and even recommended a nice Sancerre. Everything from start to finish was amazing.. What a gorgeous restaurant with all the finest design details to match the divine food! Thank you, Chef Dima Habibeh for sharing gorgeous journey through this culinary experience. Look forward to coming back to try the other dishes! Congrats on being a 2026 James Beard Semifinalist for Outstanding Hospitality! You're the winner in our eyes!

OMG what a delicious and delightful find. I had the brunch hummus and fresh pita bread +2 fabulous desserts. Everything was very flavorful very well balanced flavors and beautifully presented. Clearly homemade from scratch with the best possible ingredients. The bread was fresh out of the oven. Definitely the best brunch I've had in many years. Couldn't be more enthusiastic. Even the waitress was adorable and very friendly. Extra points for having an outside area where my dog was aloud to sit at my table. I was too busy enjoying the food to take pictures of it. So I'll have to drive back there from LA soon to eat there again.

Lavish Levantine lunch in the LBC! You must start out your meal with the housemade pita bread. It's served puffy and airy, so you know it was freshly baked. Though do note that hummus is an extra $14. The Mini Beef Shawarma Wraps were deceiving... because they weren't as mini as I thought! Fairly substantial portions. Comes with tahini sauce on the side. I ordered the Levantine Toast, which is a healthy combination of avocado, labneh, cherry tomatoes, radish, pomegranate seeds, zaatar, with extra virgin olive oil drizzled on top, all on a piece of sourdough. Aromatic and delicious . Add an egg or smoked salmon for an extra $4. Very nice atmosphere inside. Outside patio area is great too. Reservations recommended, but they'll accommodate you if there is space.

Try the family feast... this was suggested by Erick our wonderful server that honestly we couldn't ask for more!!! The food is delicious a whole experience... I came here like a couple of years ago with one of the city council members and I always wanted to bring my wife that by the way she's a great fan of this food!!! The place is pleasant with its street terrace...

Wife and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this Mediterranean themed restaurant. Even though we were in downtown LB for a moment I felt I was in a whole different hemisphere. The service was excellent, and informative of the dishes. Can't wait to return. Again and again, and again. Did I mention the Ice cream desert was outstandingly delicious.

Phenomenal experience. ARAB LEBANESE always the best of all middle Eastern Cusine taken as a whole. The Lebs simply love their food and it shows it the preparation. These days all they have left is their food, I should know, my father and friends are in daily danger. Enough said. Sorry. Hey check our the toilet art. See photos. Terrific service and parking is a hassle.

Got the chance to celebrate my birthday with a couple of girlfriends at Ammatoli and it was such a great experience. The space is cozy and beautifully designed. It feels intimate even with other tables nearby. What we ordered: Family Platter - We chose 2 chicken, 2 ribeye, 1 gyro and 1 salmon for our proteins with hummus, pickles and olives on the side, plus tabbouleh for our salad. It also came with rice pilaf. I loved that it included grilled veggies (tomatoes, onions, bell peppers and jalapeño) along with a variety of delicious sauces. Everything was beautifully presented and the food tasted fresh and flavorful. The pita comes straight from the oven which makes such a difference. They also offer cucumbers and carrots if you prefer or if you're gluten-free. Drinks - My friends had the rosé and white wine and I ordered the mint lemonade. Everything was crisp and refreshing. Dessert - We were so full but still shared a pistachio baklava with ice cream and Turkish coffee with cardamom. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The baklava was a little different than what I'm used to. It didn't have the usual layered structure, just phyllo on the top and bottom so it fell apart a bit when we bit into it. Overall, no complaints. The food was amazing, the service was top-notch and I can't wait to come back and try their brunch.

Lentil soup- Sooooooo good!

The service was incredible. Our waitress made sure everyone was not just content, that we were happy and satisfied and we were. The good was by far the perfect amount of richness and spice. The Naan I got had small crumbles of falafel and was perfectly fluffy, soft, and crunchy on the outside. The dressing on my salad was so tasty it made my mouth water. Overall, I give it a delicious vote. Very good for the price.

We came to Ammatoli for a birthday brunch for my husband, and honestly, it was such a good choice. The place is really pretty and feels relaxed enough to enjoy time with family. Mary took care of us and she was great--super helpful. We followed a lot of her recommendations and she didn't miss. We ended up doing more of a family-style spread, which was perfect for our group of 5. The hummus with chicken shawarma, fattet hummus, foul mudammas, and mutabbal were all really flavorful. The shakshuka was a standout, and the falafel came out fresh and crispy. Everything paired so well with the warm, freshly baked pita. For mains, we shared the mixed mashawi--kafta, ribeye kebab, and lamb chops and everything was cooked just right. The meats were tender, well-seasoned, and you could tell they knew what they were doing. We also had vermicelli rice on the side, and of course had to end with dessert--knafeh and Umm Ali, plus Turkish coffee. Such a good way to wrap up the meal. It was just a really nice, easy celebration--good food, great service, and time with family. Definitely a spot we'll come back to.

We had a party of 5 for a 40th birthday dinner and everything was phenomenal. We were walking around the Promenade and were indecisive of a nice sit down restaurant. So glad we settled on Ammatoli. We ordered the family meal, and every dish was fresh and flavorful. It was great because we got to try a lot of different meats. I wouldn't say the family meal is enough for a famished party of 5; just enough room for dessert. Our server Cameron provided excellent service and kept everything running smoothly. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion with great food and a lovely vibe. While we were lucky to walk in, I suggest making a reservation. The restaurant was bustling for a Sunday evening.

I came here during brunch. There's plenty of parking on 3rd St in the City Place parking garage just 0.1 miles from the restaurant. The first 2 hours are free. You check in at front. I was a walk in so the waitlist took about 15 minutes. Not bad. The inside is really nice. I love the decor. Food Batata Harra - this was good. It had a sour spicy taste. I liked it. Roasted Beets Labneh - This was my first time having this and I liked it. Pita Bread - came out fresh from the oven. Beef Shawarma - the beef was dry. Everything else that came with it was good, but the beef should be the star of the dish. Service was good. They were friendly and welcoming.

Ammatoli! Such a delightful dining experience. We started with the mezze. The spicy hummus and falafel were amazing, as was the bread that came with it. Definitely order the potatoes. They are so good. My friend and I shared the lamb, which was cooked so well. Dessert was the recommendation from the bartender and we're so glad we listened. That pistachio baklava was the best way to end that meal. Our server made our dining experience so much better.

Yes, you can order any of the food items from the bar that you would be able to get from a table.

So why not email them?

Would it be possible to rent out the place for 1 night for a small wedding reception? I'm asking for a friend who's getting married next year😊

You would need to contact the owners directly for the answer.

Hello, when we previously asked about your chicken shawarma, we were told that you make it with only chicken breast. On my last visit, I noticed some dark meat mixed in, so I wanted to make sure and ask if there was a change? Thank you!

Thank you for your question! As we started to make the chicken shawarma on the spit, we have been adding chicken thighs in addition to the chicken breast. This makes the chicken shawarma more flavorful and more juicy. Previously, we used to make it… Read more

Tons of board games, books and wonderfully mellow music helps make the experience feel comforting and inviting. Our drinks were prepared quickly and shouted at the coffee bar for pickup. The presentation was great, but the flavors, out of this world! The Cinnamon Dulce Latte was OUTSTANDING. So good, in fact, that my girlfriend stole it from me! Not to worry, her Blueberry Lavender Latte was also top-notch, with a smooth, not-to-sweet flavor combination. I started with a cup of their beef and barley soup. My wife and I both make this at home from scratch and we're both impressed by theirs. My wife took a taste of mine and instantly ordered her own. Very rich and flavorful. I kept looking at photos of their take on chicken and waffles and knew I had to try it. Seriously epic and was good as it looked. They coated the chicken in a chili rub that gave it a sweet and spicy flavor when paired with their maple syrup. Served on top of a waffle and topped with an egg. I loved it and would probably order again on my next visit. My wife had the American plate which was your classic eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast combo. High quality ingredients elevated it beyond your typical diner food. Drinks were great too. I had their house made bloody mary which had a nice kick to it. My wife had their brunch version of a Corpse Reviver cocktail. After our meals were done we finished with an Irish coffee since everyone was ordering them. TLDR; It's expensive, and not worth the routine visit, but worth the one-time stop in to experience the festivities. The Miracle pop-up at The Ordinarie is somehow even more decorated and extravagant than you'd expect from a seasonal pop-up. The line looks long outside, as there are no reservations, but it moves quickly since they hold everybody to a pretty strict 2-hour time limit. The drinks are good, the cups are cute, and everyone is festive. It's an all-around fun experience.  I think because of this, you do pay a premium price tag for food and drinks that are just good or okay. I think it's something that is worth the visit if you've never been and you enjoy getting into the Christmas spirit. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. It't not a pillar of the food scene if you're a tourist, but it is a good, late night spot if you work in the industry nearby. They have a great late-night menu with a killer smash burger.

Bristy, our server, thoroughly explained the details of certain dishes such as the Mac & Cheetos. She also checked in on our table throughout the meal and came around often to refill our water. As for the food itself, it was very delicious. My favorite dish was the artichokes. They had a somewhat smoky flavor and the outermost leaves were crunchy and a nice contrast to the soft inside of the artichokes. They were also served in a tangy sauce that complimented the vegetable well. My friend's favorite item was the macaroni and cheese. It was chewy and creamy, and the pasta, which Bristy informed us was made in-house, was what my friend thought elevated the dish because it was a nice texture. We additionally ordered the gumbo which was also tasty but not as yummy as the other two dishes that we ordered. It is not a spicy dish if one is concerned about spice level. As for the ambiance of the restaurant, we enjoyed how the atmosphere felt casual and almost like you were sitting in somebody's house (the wallpaper and interior design is pretty) while still maintaining an elegant aesthetic design. There is inside seating what looks like a converted house? There is outside seating at tables or at the bar. The menu was interesting which had a theme of shrimp; there was eggs Benedict with shrimp, but not an item to order a regular one without it? Sure maybe could have ordered and asked without shrimp but pay the same price? Pass. Ok when I called they mentioned they serve brunch until 3? 3:30 I can't remember. The server mentioned they serve the brunch all day? Either way when I got to ordering this month on the menu it highlighted the shrimp po boy. I tried to order and nope, out. How can you be out of the item highlighted as the special in the middle of the day? When the place is not packed? I tried to order the lobster roll and again, out. I was tempted to order their short rib poutine since in theory it sounded good, but at this point I tried something simple I would hope they have in the kitchen chicken and waffles. The plate came and it looks good. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the chicken you can see a dark something. As I lift my chicken I found a huge burnt piece of breading pictured next. On top of the chicken is green onion I think? Who eats that with chicken and waffles? If I am wrong, a garnish is totally unnecessary for this dish. The chicken was moist. There are spices in the flour breading I can see but hard to taste what it is. The waffle is a hard pass for me. The waffle was crispy which is good, but also thin and dry and I couldn't taste any sweetness until I put maple syrup on it. The syrup came out warm which was nice. It's clear watching the people at the bar this is a local hangout. The chicken and waffles were $19 which if I was in the bay I think it's about right, but I think a little high considering the level of food I got. Supposedly this place is packed specifically on Sundays. The server doesn't know why? I'm not interested to even try to come back for a second chance and just be told sold out of the menu.
