This was the first time we ate at this restaurant since we were in this area . The ambience was great and noise was not too loud. Service was not that great as I expected. We ordered papaya salad, Tom Kha , drunken noodle and a drink for my daughter. We loved the Tom kha very much the taste was excellent and delicious. Papaya salad was 6 , one thing was missing during our meal was that they forgot our last order. We mentioned to the waitress twice about the drunken noodles, but it finally came out after we were done with the meal, without the apology for delivered late. I almost cancelled that order. The tables next to us came late but got all their orders. That was sad that I had to mention over with the waitress. Well , that was it , I valued very much on the service but this was very sad and SUCKs Won't be back for sure.

Amazing! Staff were quick, welcoming and friendly. Ambiance was really nice, loved the tables and chair set up. Good amount of items on the menu. We walked in on a sunday night and was seated within minutes. Ordered the thai iced tea, panang curry and the crab fried rice. Everything was delicious! Would highly recommend, and we'll probably be back.

One of the various stops on my friend's bday food crawl last month. Definitely a delicious Thai food restaurant that bring tons of flavors. Kin Long Beach is located on the corner of E Broadway and Alamitos Ave, with the restaurant on the E Broadway side of the street. The lot is small and I don't know if there is any other parking options besides street parking (not my fav). Found a spot right out front luckily! The restaurant front it unassuming, with the plain yellow signage at the top. Don't let that fool you how beautiful and modern the inside is. Small to medium sized space but beautiful. What I can only describe as golden basket house pendant lights, dark wood beams and an open area design the space looks much bigger. It's separated by 2-seater tables on the right, 4-6 group tables on the left, a beautiful private10-person banquet room with more upscale cushioned seating and a TV, which then leads to an outside dining space, which is where we sat. The server was very kind and answered all our questions. I started with a Ruby Fizz for a drink, while my friend ordered the Thai Ice Tea. The Ruby Fizz is a gin based drink, but you could hardly tell it was in it which is exactly how I like my drinks. It was delicious! The Thai Ice Tea is definitely a show piece but every bit delicious. It comes with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melts into the drink. For food we ordered the Chicken Satay, Beef Pad See Ew, Avacado Curry, and Pad Thai. The Chicken Stay was nice a juicy and the peanut sauce went well with it. Pad See Ew was savory with nicely charred noodles, the Pad Thai was everyone's favorite and my friends said the best they've had so far, sweet and tangy, tender noodles, and we got it with beef. Now the Avacado curry was my favorite! Red curry spice, creaminess coming from coconut milk, and the perfectly sliced avacado adding more creaminess to it. Perfect for vegetarians and meat eaters alike...I did not miss the meat. Delicious Thai food and great for groups!

My bf brought me here for Valentine's and I had a wonderful experience. We were able to bring the fur baby along which was a plus! We couldn't find any parking besides a parking lot directly across the street which turned out to be for Roscoe's (oops). Don't make the same mistake we did and be sure to find proper parking somewhere amongst the lively intersections of Alamitos & 7th. The service was great here; the staff were kind and attentive throughout our meal. Our food also came out within a timely manner. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and is perfect for date night for outings with friends/fam. I was so happy with everything I had! I ordered the Colossal crab fried rice on the spiciest level and it was absolutely delicious! They also give a generous portion of crab unlike many other establishments that skimp on the premiums. I also ordered the chicken pad se ewe on the spiciest level and it was equally delicious to me. My bf had the beef pad se ewe and he enjoyed it as well. Their Thai tea was pretty good too! Overall, I'll definitely be back very soon and I highly recommend Kin! Support your local businesses!

Came here for dinner. Clean and nice decor inside. Ordered a pad thai and panang curry. The chicken in the pad thai was a little dry but the noodles were al dente, which is good. The pad thai was sweeter than we preferred. The panang curry was pretty good. There were many pieces of braised beef and artichoke. Went really well with the included white rice. The Thai tea with popsicle was good. We prefer it creamier or with more milk though. It tastes better when the popsicle melts into the beverage or in our case we broke the popsicle down into the tea. Water tasted like tap water. Affordable menu price. Excellent service. Free parking in parking lot. Close to Pike Outlet and Shoreline Village.

Kin Long Beach - Late Lunch Gem I stopped by Kin Long Beach for a late lunch around 1:00 PM and was able to catch their lunch special just before they closed at 2:30 PM. Honestly, the experience was so warm and welcoming--it felt like they gave me a little extra grace while they were transitioning into their dinner service at 5 PM, which I truly appreciated. Food: I started with the calamari (salt & pepper style), and it had this nice kick--almost like a mix of Sriracha and Tajín--with a dipping sauce and lime on the side. The batter did fall apart a bit when picking it up with chopsticks, but the flavor and crunch definitely made up for it. I also ordered a Thai tea that came with a large popsicle--such a cute and unique touch--and it kept my drink cold as it melted. For my entrée, I had the shrimp Pad Thai from the lunch special, and the presentation alone was beautiful. It came with a fresh spring vegetable roll and a side salad with cherry tomatoes and a creamy balsamic vinaigrette that I absolutely loved. My guest ordered the colossal crab fried rice, which was just as impressive. I also loved that they bring out their signature spice rack so you can customize your heat level. Service: The service was incredibly kind and attentive. The staff was super sweet and even allowed us to stay about 15 minutes past closing before they reset for dinner. That level of hospitality really stood out to me, and I made sure to leave respectfully. Ambience: The vibe is chic and modern, with a large screen by the bar showcasing Thailand's street food culture and authentic cooking scenes. It really adds to the experience and makes you feel connected to the roots of the cuisine. Overall: 10/10 for me! I would absolutely come back, especially to try their dinner menu. They also offer free parking, which is a plus--but spaces are tight, so I recommend coming early.

KIN in Long Beach seriously impresses us every single time! The Thai food here is some of the best we've had. We ordered the Thai fried rice with chicken and the coconut soup with chicken, both at medium spice, and wow, the spice level was no joke. If you're sensitive to heat, definitely go mild. Medium was much spicier than we expected! That said, the flavors were incredible. We also tried the baby back barbecue ribs, and they were so tender and delicious. They leaned a little on the salty side, but still totally worth it and packed with flavor. Parking can be a bit tight in the lot, but spots tend to open up quickly, and there's always street parking nearby if needed. Overall, such a great dinner experience, we'll definitely be back!

I had a friend recommend this spot and had to immediately come check it out. I had been craving Thai food and there aren't many options over on my neck of the woods so we made the drive to Long Beach. Upon arriving, we were greeted and asked to sit to wait for a table. It was busy but not crowded. The waitress handed us menus to look at while we waited for a table which was a nice gesture and allowed us to be ready when seated. It took less than 10 min to get seated. Once seated, they were fairly quick to come and take our order. We ordered: 1. Satay chicken 2. Yellow Curry with Chicken 3. Beef Pad See Ew and 4. Shrimp Pad Thai Everything was absolutely amazing! I could eat yellow curry for the rest of my life and this was one of the best ones I've had. We did get a red Eden cocktail and a beer. The cocktail was good! Not too sweet or strong. Service was great, too! Friendly and very attentive. The restaurant itself is very clean and the decor is very demure haha it's cute and spacious. Very welcoming! This is such a hidden gem! I'm so happy we decided to try this place out. We will definitely be back!! Worth the drive!!

Probably hands down the best Thai food I've had in my life so far - I guess I haven't had too much Thai food in the past and I've definitely never been to Thailand before but this is THE spot. The green papaya salad was so crisp and refreshing, but somehow savory at the same time?? It was just made really well. And the panang curry just had such a nice umami aftertaste to it. Pad thai was solid too. I didn't get to try their drinks this time but I sure will if I ever get to come here again, they got a full bar inside in its own separate area. The interior is quite modern and classy, which is quite a surprise for thai spots. It definitely fit the occasion seeing we were there for New Years. The waiters also checked in often enough. I really hope to try the colossal crab next time, it looked really good and I definitely will swing by if I get the chance to visit long beach again.

We visited from NorCal and were able to sit down before the end of brunch service. So so happy we got to sit down and enjoy their food! We started with a couple cocktails which were so yummy! Then we got the spicy pad Thai (10/10) with the brunch entree of beef spicy garlic sauce (10/10). Everything was sooo delicious!! The interior is so beautiful and the service was really attentive and welcoming! We would be happy to visit again!

Wow! Absolutely so good! I was stuffed. Service was great! Fast with food during the lunch hour! This place is pretty popular for everyone working DTLB. I had the pad Thai beef and my colleagues had the lunch specials which were really good! The Thai iced tea comes with a Thai iced tea popsicle. The mango sticky rice was my favorite!!! Will be back again.

Kin Long Beach Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Kin Long Beach

Does the place take reservations?

I believe not. A few weeks ago I was meeting some friends for dinner (Sunday night) and one of them called Kin Long but was told no reservations. The place can get busy at times. You might call ahead to see how busy they are.

This place is listed today as having outdoor seating. Is it still available? If it is, is it covered or heated? How many people can sit there? / June 8, 2023

Yes, they have a large patio. It has a roof and walls, but there are open windows. I sat there a weeks ago.

Do they have any mocktails?

yes! they have many. My favorite was the margarita on fire!

Do they have a happy hour menu?

Yes they do.... We always order the appetizers because they are to kill for

Definitely worth it! The vibes are unmatched. It's a unique blend of "top notch cocktail crafting" and "beer and a hot pretzel after work." You can dress up, you can dress down, it's very 'just be yourself' which I love. I've literally had caviar AND hot dogs there in the same night at an event. They know how to blend high/low. Incredible knowledge and ingredients but not snooty patootie. Super inclusive and fun, with cool popups and events happening all the time. It's a full bar so you can get any cocktail you would normally order if you're keeping it simple, or beer, wine, boilermakers, etc. There's a span of offerings and price points, so something for everyone. The Wicked Wolf is a kind of place that offers the opportunity for whimsical mischief. For…read moreinstance, they have a rooftop area. And this one time I was there alone with another, no other patrons just staff members walking around from time to time. We stole the moment to dance under the Long Beach sky, just the two of us as a famous Christina Perrio song gently wafted in the night breeze. At another separate time, I was at the Los Angeles County Fair with another. We rode the ferris wheel at such a time where our gondola stopped at the top just as the sun set. The moment was nothing but beautiful and life affirming because the sinking of the sun's light was like a real life video of nature happening in front of us, unburdened by static or data stall. We witnessed nature resting, and I feel, that it was a kin to a beauty falling into a gentle sleep. These two instances have a common factor: momentary bliss arrived to bless an experience because the environment supported discovery of unplanned joy. That is what I associate with the Wicked Wolf, and this time the joy arrived eventually because when my Mom and I arrived to their high tea on Mother's Day the experienced seem like it would land nowhere good. Truth be told, my mom and I arrived 15 minutes early and there was no host in the stand and the place was empty except for a foursome. The energy felt lacked luster. One or two minutes after, the bartender informed us that we were early and the host would come soon. We sat in an available sofa for two, a loveseat persay. This gave us an opportunity to admire the decor that transported us to a storybook forest where good fairies reside, not like swamp creatures and trolls with malevolent fangs and dragon green eyes. I especially loved the large roses in the ceiling. To set the stage, the black ceiling had vines hanging from it, and the few roses were pops of crimson red displayed above. These were wonderful accents to the central mural of the joint that invited the viewer within deeper into the fairy forest where a light shone on an unseen meadow. The place had the decorations and general environment to be a lavender fairy's lounge, but, it did not fully work as a team room. For instance, my mom and I were sat in another lover's couch. Initially, I did not want to sit here because we were given circular tray sets. So imagine being told to sit in a couch, and each of us would get a tv tray. So I was left to wonder if we were going to be served tea in Belle's living room or if were going to watch a flick as we ate pollo loco bowl? But then as I settled into the tranquility of the moment, saw more people come and find their seat or couch, and as the serviced picked-up I realized that this was high tea in a place that had taken disjointed beauty and tackied it together for a patched tea experience that worked well. It was like the experienced was blessed and allowed by the same spirit that brought forth Raggedy Ann. For instance, the pictures show these pretty violet petaled tea cups and matching plates. This pairing was dainty and perfect for a tea party happening under pink veils. But then the sugar cubes came in a hedgehog shaped holder which was just as precious as seeing a piglet in a carriage built for one. Then the cream carrier was in the shape of a milk carton. I wondered where the missing child portrait was? The pastry plate was in the shape of a tropical flower like the ones scattered all over Hawaii. It belonged in a beautiful lei. Each of these elements was cute in its own delicate and whimsical way but together they made an eclectic hodgepodge, not a coherent tea set. And in this asymmetry laid the glitter of their error. The host also brought these clip on dainty hats that were perfect touches for make believe tea party. He carried them around in their original packing, including the box they came in. Not exactly the tailor of the queen, offering hats to the villagers as a gift from her to them, but still the effort magnified the moment. The tea food was the worst stumble that Red took as she was being chased by the Wicked Wolf. To begin with the end analysis, the tea offerings in general were standard, and not bites fit for a princess and her wedding court. For instance, the cream cheese and cucumber sandwich was just that---- a cucumber and cream cheese sandwich. I detected no effort to make it more than that. The blueberry scone was solid, nothing to skip through a meadow about. But once you added the jam of the table to the scone it was much easier to enjoy. I also had a madeline that was fluffy in the center but could have been purchased maybe at Costco. I had a Macaron and same thing, delicious but I have had something similar before and I suspected that it did not come from a place afloat with Parisian affairs. The best part of the tiers was this puff like thing that had like a Concha texture and design at the top. It was a sweet filled bite that was fit for a man made of muffin.

But sadly my mom could not hear us, due to the music being so loud, we did ask twice if they would turn it down a little to no avail. PARKING Valet is only $10, which in Southern California basically qualifies as a love language. (Note to Fairmont Breakers Management: Listen up, my friends! Please keep it that way, gas is $5.97/gallon and my wallet is already in therapy.) I handed the valet a $5 tip before I even stepped out of my car, just so I could glide into the lobby feeling like a full‑blown princess making her grand entrance. Before you leave, you simply pay the valet in cash or card and they'll have your car right there before you can even blink. AMBIANCE Walk in and boom! Rob Fontana was performing tonight, and his music was so good I found myself time‑traveling back to the good old days. Every song hit, Rob. Good job! SERVICE Our server, Nia, was a star. Attentive, sharp memory, and smooth service all the way through. Zero notes. FOOD The menu is small, so if you show up ravenous, pace yourself or plan to Uber home after a cocktail‑heavy evening. Drinks are not my thing since I enjoy company without alcohol's help, so I can't help you with that. DATE‑WORTHY OR NOT? Absolutely. Alter Ego gets a double thumbs‑up from me and a strong recommendation for your next Silver Singles date. The lychee margarita was my favorite because they light it up table side for a fun presentation! The food tasted great and was very affordable priced! Our group ordered multiple items and shared them family style, which seems to be a common approach here. The shrimp fried rice was delicious and my favorite food item. One order was plenty to share between 4 people. Per our server's request, we also tried the cucumber salad which was really refreshing and a great side. I tried the popcorn chicken but honestly they packed a kick and were too spicy for me, so be warned. In sum, the service, food, drinks, and ambiance were great and I will definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious food at reasonable prices. Probably the best fried rice and edamame I've ever…read morehad. Service was decent, didn't get quite as much attention as I would have ordered more food had someone stopped by faster. It's a really small location so it's a little bizarre that service is a bit on the slow side. That said, everything else was fantastic so it's a small sin as such things go. Overwhelmingly recommend this place, just maybe order a lot up-front so you don't end up waiting around for more. It also has 2 speakeasys attached to the "main" restaraunt, but book early as those spots are even harder to get into.

False Advertising and Total Failure of a "Speakeasy"…read more This place should not call itself a speakeasy. According to their website, they are strict about dress code, reservations, and no large parties. None of that was enforced. People arrived wearing sports clothes, tennis shoes, and flip-flops, and a group of more than 10 people was allowed in. That group was loud, drunk, and screaming, completely destroying any speakeasy ambiance. We had a reservation booked one week in advance for 2 tables of six, yet by 8:30 pm, we were told no food was available, despite the bar being almost empty. The water was already on the table when we arrived and tasted strongly of chlorine, with no ice. The waitress was clearly new, untrained, and unprepared. She did not know the menu, didn't know how to take an order properly, and provided no guidance whatsoever. There was one bartender Ricardo, who took over an hour to prepare cocktails and showed no sense of urgency or care. The dramatic cocktail descriptions sounded impressive, but the drinks did not match the descriptions at all. Because of the delays, we were never even able to properly toast or celebrate our friend. The charcuterie board took forever and arrived with an absurd amount of cheese and only six pieces of bread. To make things worse, part of the food we ordered never arrived at all. The live jazz band advertised and promised never showed up. When asked, the staff responded with: "I don't know, they were supposed to be here. I don't have their phone number." That level of disorganization is unacceptable. At the end of the night, we were shocked to receive a check close to $600 for two tables, despite each person only having one cocktail and shared food. The bartender, Ricardo, approached us and said: "Well, sorry, we really tried tonight! It wasn't the best, but we tried." Honestly, that comment made the experience even more frustrating. I can't imagine how bad it would have been if they hadn't "tried."That statement perfectly summarizes the problem -- trying is not enough when everything fails. I would not recommend this place for a speakeasy experience. This is not a speakeasy. It's a poorly run bar hiding behind a concept it does not deliver. Do not recommend.

I give it a 1 because 0 was not an option. Absolute disaster. Avoid this place at all costs. What…read morewas supposed to be a classy night celebrating a 50th birthday turned into a complete nightmare. This is not a speakeasy, it's a tiny, rundown bar pretending to be something it's not. The staff was inexperienced, dismissive, and unprofessional. Drinks were outrageously overpriced and took forever to arrive. The food was a joke, a $60 charcuterie board made up of cheap grocery store cheese, ham, and crackers that didn't come close to justifying the price. We were served warm water that tasted like chlorine, and the response from staff was literally "I don't know, I just work here." At one point both waitresses vanished, leaving the bartender overwhelmed and everything grinding to a halt. The live jazz band they advertise never showed up, and staff had no explanation or contact info. The so-called dress code was completely ignored, with groups in jeans and sneakers flooding in, turning the place loud, chaotic, and classless. This place delivers nothing it promises. It's not a speakeasy, it's a poorly run bar that shouldn't be in business. Strongly do not recommend, and honestly, I want my money back.
