    Soft pretzels
    Holly C.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining here this evening with my team from work. It was the second time I'd been in - the first was last week with my brother. Let's start with last week. My brother and I had a comedy show near by at the stand up live and had some time to kill before the show. We were walking around and saw this place, and decided to give it a try. When we walked in around 5:45, the place was almost completely dead inside, so we had our choice of seating. Ultimately, we were sat by the window, overlooking the city. We shared the soft pretzels and single barrel jack daniel's whiskey and both were phenomenal. I was astounded how smooth the whiskey was and was really impressed with the pretzels. Service was great as well - prompt and kind. Our server even made sure we got the $2 off appetizers as we walked in at the end of happy hour. Tonight when I went with my team, the place was HOPPIN. I'm glad we had a reservation, as we were a large group. I ordered the smoked meatloaf, a long with a Shirley Temple. For how busy they were, and how large our group was, I'm really impressed with how well the servers did and how attentive they were - my drink was never empty. The food was SO GOOD. Their BBQ sauce is out. of. this. world. A total must try. The one negative I'll add is this - between the music playing (a very solid playlist, might I add!) and everyone talking, I barely heard a thing tonight lol so that's something to keep in mind. Price wise.... It's a little on the expensive side for me. My meal alone was $24, and that doesn't include the drink. You definitely get what you pay for though - the portions are pretty epic. All in all, would I go back? Yeah! If anything, just to have another single barrel whiskey!

    Salmon with risotto

When we walked in, the place was pretty empty. We were seated right away. Our waitress super sweet, friendly, attentive. The restaurant's decor matched its name with a bar filled with bourbon. It could be a bourbon lover's lair. The food on the other hand, could use some work. We ordered some deviled eggs & artichoke dip. Artichoke dip lumpy & it tasted like it was made a few days ago & just heated up, deviled eggs were okay. We ordered salmon with mushroom risotto, grilled pork chops topped with mushrooms & loaded baked potato & South west chicken pasta. Salmon overcooked, risotto swimming in cream. Grilled pork chops, they forgot to top it with mushroom & sauce too sweet & watery. The Southwest chicken pasta was basically a chicken enchilada deconstructed on pasta. The only thing that tasted perfect was my Heaven Hill 10 year bourbon, neat. This place could have high potentials.

Side House salad and Bourbon Glazed Salmon

Went here for dinner while I'm in town. You go up an escalator to get there which was cool, and they have a nice bar. I ordered a side house salad for only $5, and I chose the bourbon glazed salmon. I was expecting to have my salad first as like an appetizer but it came out with my entree. It was very good but I didn't eat much of it because my entree was hot. It wasn't a big piece of fish but it was tasty. (I would have liked a heavier glaze. ) I didn't think I was going to like the mushroom risotto it came with but it was tasty. I liked the vegetables too, especially the carrots! I was full but I ordered creme brûlée to take back to my hotel. It looked mushy but when I ate it later it was delicious!! Overall I enjoyed my meal and would go there again.

The Phoenix Bourbon Room has had the best draft beer list I've found in this part of Phoenix's Downtown. Their menu and brand seems to mock me as a native Kentuckian, but I'm very glad I finally stopped in for the draft list I found deep in local Arizona beers to amuse and delight me.

Came in for Lunch. Unexpected lunch that was a nice surprise. Plenty of space. Attentive staff. Reasonable prices. Small portions though. Definitely worth coming back for another lunch. The crispy ribs I had I would say were less crispy and more dry rub but with a side of sauce. It was good. I wasn't mad about it. Not sure I'd do it again but would say definitely give it a try.

It was a horrible experience, when we went in the place was semi empty. We put in our drink orders along with the appetizers. When we ordered the food I asked for an update on our food since it had been over an hr. The waitress came out and said our food was on the grill already. 20 minutes passed and still nothing. We ended up canceling our order since we had an event to go to. When the waiter came out he mentioned something different about our order not being out in correctly into their system so they apologized but they never offered to make it right, they charge my card wrong. The whole experience was bad.

Old fashion...I would expect a bourbon room bar to have superior cleaned glasses with a clear big block
    Jason M.

Ordered the old fashion as it comes off the menu. Great selection of bourbon as expected but Disappointed a bourbon room lacks the Crystal clear big block ice cube and the glass was not super clean. Looks like calcium deposits on the glass. We ordered the PBR burger. Messy but tasty. Cooked well. Wife order just a stuffed potato. Would expect the potato to be a little larger and the cheese to be hand shredded instead of the bought pre shredded stuff. Service was good. Fast and friendly. Overall, an okay experience. Would expect more with the prices they charge.

    Bourbon flight
    Ray O.

So first let's start with the positives, the food was good. We started off with the win, place, show bourbon flight and an old fashioned. Surprisingly we liked the Calumet 8 year better than the 10 or 15. It was smooth with hints of Vanilla and oak. We also had the coconut shrimp which was also tasty. I Had the glazed salmon with vegetable medley which I was looking forward to all week and my Valentine had the Southwest chicken pasta. The pasta had a chipotle sauce was spicy but not overly spicy served hot. For desert we had the tiramisu which was very rich and delicious. So now why I gave it three stars. We had a reservation for 7:15 and arrived at 7. It was Valentine's Day but they weren't overly busy and I felt like they may have been understaffed. There was no host and after about 10 minutes of waiting I think it was the manager who took us to our seat so it was actually a few minutes early than the reservation. My first impression of the restaurant and bar was I felt it was very classy with a separate tasting room which I think was closed. But when we got to our seat the restaurant that had an upscale feel to it had so many tv's it felt more like a subdued sports bar. While that was not necessarily bad it wasn't what I was expecting. (For a sports bar it would have been underwhelming as that didn't seem to be the vibe for the night anyway). We were given menus but no silverware or napkins were present just two menus and the bar list. The prices weren't bad $55 for the three pour flight and less than $20 for the old fashioned. After about 20 minutes the server came over and asked if anyone had come over yet and when we said not yet, she said she would get us water and started to move away. Before she could slip away we ordered the coconut shrimp and drinks while we were debating on the entrees. The server was pleasant. By the time the drinks and appetizer came out we had been sitting down for about 40 minutes. When she came back she took our order. She was pleasant and smiling for sure. But it was another 30-40 minutes before the entrées came out. The pasta was delicious and well prepared and hot. But the salmon and vegetables seemed like they had been prepared well before because it was luke warm. I work for the fire service so I am used to being late for dinner or eating long after meals are prepared but I didn't expect it from here. The salmon was delicious though and the vegetables were cooked well just not hot and the Rice (mush or whatever it was was only ok). We finished with the tiramisu which was well presented and delicious. By the time we were done it was nearly 2.5 hours which just seemed long. At one point someone had spilled water on the floor on the main route from the entrance to the seating area and numerous people had to walk around it and one woman almost slipped. It was there for almost an hour and not cleaned up. When we finished parking was validated but it still cost because we had been there longer than the validation period. The parking was inexpensive and due to an event downtown it was difficult to find a spot but that isn't on the restaurant. Over all it was a very nice evening with good food and great company but lackluster service. I probably won't return but more because there are so many places to eat downtown, we will try someplace else next time. In summary, good food, friendly staff, slow service. If you give them a try let me know what you think. Bon appétit. Feel free to add me as a friend to see more reviews.

Sirloin steak (special) with roasted carrots.

So another place we tried by our new apartment. We came here on a Monday and the place was not busy. We were seated by the big picture window that faces south. Great view!!! They have an extensive liquor menu, my Old Fashion was outstanding. I ordered a Manhattan and it wasn't that good. Food: They have a diverse menu, but for the money they have a special (sirloin, filet or Pork Chop) comes with 2 sides. My Sirloin was outstanding cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. I had a house salad and Carrots for my sides. My hubby got the filet special he got the carrots and baked potato which he said was the best baked potato he has gotten in a while. B Desserts i got the Panna Cotta with berries it was ok, it was frozen. Hubby got the apple Crisp with ice cream snd it was excellent. Nice flaky crust, slightly tart slightly sweet. Excellent!! We will be coming back.

This is Andrea, Most amazing server, everything she recommends is a must!! Will definitely be back, it's a must visit

Amazing! We loved our service with Andrea! She's knows what good & has great recommendations, Fantastic Food & drinks, will definitely be back

A sultry lit ambiance at all times of day due to some sort of dimmable tungsten lighting leads to a Super easy happy hour to make as it starts at 11 and ends at 6pm every single day! It's easy to pick between the deviled eggs the Kentucky Fried Chicken Tenders with all the sauces! I'm a fan of a glass of red they serve here 'A Substantial Red' and it's only $10 for this tannin filled mystery nectar. Matt was a fun open kind of bartender who I'm sure is schooled in whiskey and bourbon but definitely entertained all things wine with me!

I recently went to this location on lunch while working at the superior court today. This location advertises lunch specials and we decided to check it out. As we walked in the doors the staff was sitting down.. we showed ourselves to the bar, asking if we could have a seat as we walked in. We at the bar, i ordered a glass of wine priced at 15 bucks a glass. No biggie. The coconut shrimp and i had wanted a fresh veggie and ordered the Brussel sprouts. The coconut shrimp appeared to be frozen. It was very much lack luster. The Brussels were SOGGY Beyond belief. They were literally mush and there was absolutely no way they were prepared within the 8 mins it took them to bring out food out. The were soaked in oil and mush the entire way though. The server never once even bothered to come over to inquire about how our food was, if we even wanted a to go box because we clearly left a full serving of food on the table. This place seems to be a watering hole as they have every whiskey under the sun. They do not seem interested in food service at all-... after receiving my check my wine was priced higher than the menu listed price, and the server still never acknowledged or asked how our meal or food was. Probably because he knew it was trash. Isiah just seemed to be there to collect hours. Our water has zero ice as the ice wells were still empty from the night prior. No to go containers were offered and the service wasn't what we were after either. Check the prices. Be aware of days old food or frozen. Or just don't go.

It's hard to put into words how great this place is. Have you ever been somewhere when everything…read morejust feels "right, balanced, happy"? That is Farish House. The cozy, intimate comfort of what used to be Coup des Tartes blended seamlessly with the deep, peaceful, gentle "love" you felt from House of Tricks into one calm, warm, easy spot. Farish House is a real, soul-warming experience across the board. The service, care, comfort, ambience, food, value and clear love they put into everything make Farish House our new favorite place. We walked through the front gate, up onto the front porch and inside where we took one of three small tables in the cozy front salon of this soul-warming 1899 French Bistro. *Food: we started with a bottle of Australian Cab. Shockingly good. And not crazy expensive, especially on Thursday when bottles are 30% off, it was an amazing deal. Turns out, the owner, Greg, was in the wine distribution business for several decades, curating wine programs for top Valley restaurants, so he really knows his stuff and their vast wine selection is amazing. We were offered a basket of truffle popcorn, mmm, salty, crunchy, and rich. We ordered the Chef's Selection Charcuterie and Warm Noble Baguette & Marinated Olives to get started. Both were beautifully curated, balanced, and incredibly high quality. The flavors and textures blended perfectly. with cheeses broken from large wheels, rather than cut and sliced, house-made pickled grapes, unique and unusual ingredients, smokey meats, compound butters, just awesome! We then moved into one of the cozy dining rooms and ordered the slow roasted Peposo Short Ribs and fingerling potatoes pan fried in duck fat served with Moroccan spiced aioli. Both were rich, warm and delicious. For dessert, and yes we thought we'd explode from all this food, we ordered a massive slice of bread pudding, some of the best I've ever had, rich, gooey and incredible. Along with that we ordered a beautiful Espresso Martini and an off-menu banana cream martini. Their drinks are not "poured" or mixed here, they're balanced and expertly crafted. This is French Bistro comfort food at its finest and it's unmistakeable. *Service: it just doesn't get better. Everyone working there is "family". And that's how they make you feel; like family, cared for, wanted, welcomed. Service isn't a choreographed masterpiece, no tuxedos, cloths draped over arms, napkins frantically re-folded when you step away, dishes served and cleared in unison. No, it's relaxed, warm, friendly, kind, like being at your grandmothers house and knowing you're surrounded by people who care. Met Greg and Katherine, the owners, and their daughter Alexandra and several other "family" members taking care of us. Their appreciation for your presence is unmistakable. *Ambience: it's just plain comfy, cozy, easy, relaxed, warm, deep, gentle, worn (in a good way), wise, and calm, that's the best I can describe it. Hard wood floors, cozy rooms, soft, warm lighting. It's a non-pretentious, French bistro that feels like the home of a favorite grandma or great aunt living in a warm family cottage in the outskirts of Paris. *Value: it's perfect. It's not ridiculously expensive like Kai, Brinkley's, Cafe Monarch, Christopher's, or French Laundry where you go, "okay, that was fun but we'll only do this very occasionally/rarely and it's probably worth it, but dang that was pricey!" No, Farish House is 100% value to experience, not cheap, but not overpriced, the balance is just right. It's a place you can go often, and we will. Yes, our meal with apps, drinks and dessert, some on happy hour and the Thursday wine special, was around $200. I'd happily say this experience was worth every penny. *Overall: I can't recommend Farish House highly enough. Parking is on the street or in a nearby lot, and that's a downtown thing. There's a small lot in back. The food, ambience, service, quality, and experience were stellar. I wish I could rate them 6 stars instead of just 5. I'll return often and highly recommend Farish House to everyone. I genuinely hope you enjoy as much as we did!

There is such a contrast of two vintage homes, one being the Farish House in a sea of highrise buildings in downtown Phoenix! If you like a restaurant with a great wine selection, this is your place. I was lucky enough to have both of the owners (Kathryn and Greg) come by and greet us. This bottle (pictured below) of Pinot Noir was suggested to us, and we decided to have with our meals since our chosen dishes were beef and pork. One of the best wines I have had recently. We had the stuffed date appetizers which were devoured so quickly I did not have a chance to snap a pho My friend chose the beef short rib dish, which was well presented and extremely flavorful. After carefully reading each item, it was very hard to make a choice. I ended up with the pork chop meal, see cauliflower/potato mash, asparagus, and the awesome sauce along with the perfectly cooked pork chop made my taste buds very happy! We had service by Ella who is fabulous and also got to meet the owners daughter Alexandria. But there's more! After much deliberation and compromise, we both decided to share the bread pudding. I have been to New Orleans many times where they make fantastic bread pudding. The Farish House bread pudding can stand up to the best of the bread pudding in New Orleans and that is saying a lot. My spicy margarita was also top notch! However, the salmon left a bad taste in my mouth!

Thoroughly enjoyed a Saturday morning brunch at the Match Market & Bar located inside the Found:Re…read morehotel. I ordered the ham eggs Benedict while my company ordered the Eggs Any Style which included bacon, breakfast potatoes, and sourdough toast. We both enjoyed a Bloody Mary. The Benedict was lovely in presentation and taste but the portion was not enough to be filling. I would recommend adding a side of breakfast potatoes to round out the dish. My counterpart throughly enjoyed his meal with the note that the side breakfast potatoes were perhaps a little too crunchy. Overall, this place is a vibe and definitely a cool spot to bring someone visiting from out of town. Service was quick and friendly, they were serving a large conference of folks with no impact to service.

You order at the counter, and they do ask for a tip, but after the lack of service we received, I'd say it's best not to leave a tip in advanced since you don't know what service you will get. My personal opinion, bring cash if you want to tip. We received our food, and truly did not get checked on once. I had to get up to ask for a drink refill. Again, the restaurant was not busy and there was plenty of staff. The place itself is cool and I do plan to come back to give it another try. Hopefully it will be a better experience.
