We came here towards the end of the day and there was a good crowd. My bf and I sat at the bar and were quickly attended to. Bf was unsure as to which beer he wanted so the bartender offered taste samples of his recommendations, which was nice. We ordered a beer each and a burger with fries to share. We scarfed down the burger because it was that good. The fries were plentiful (maybe because we told them we were sharing), but we left with happy tummies. The service was also great. When our first bartender was busy with other customers, another person would come in to check on us to make sure we weren't waiting too long. I know Solvang is all about the wine, but sometimes, you just want a cold beer and this is a good place for that. read more

I was there last weekend with my family for Christmas and service and waiters were absolutely the worst. Our waiter had a attitude problem from the beginning and the food was just not cooked. Ordered nachos, wings, fries and beer and everything was just stale. Beer was flat. Food was not edible and to top it off the guy took forever to come around. Place was empty you would think we would get more attention but nope. They bring the food to the table then they disappear. Plates, napkins, utensils? Be careful when you ask the guy will stop you dead in your tracks and tell you "I'm busy, when I'm done I'll get that in." Get that in? Brah you are busy entering another beer I just told you to enter and the plates should've came without me asking lol. Left went next door bought some craft beer and called it a day. read more

On our trip to Solvang, we decided to eat at Fitzpatricks for dinner! We were so glad we did. Although we did wait for a bit, it was perfectly fine. We were able to rest and visit. The girl that was working (did not get her name) was kicking butt on service! She was the only one that was the host, waitress and bartender. She was able to handle a good 10 parties (maybe a few more) all by herself and was able to do it all while being friendly and chatting with each party. We had the chicken pot pie, the guinness (sp?) stew as well as a pulled pork sandwich. All three tasted amazing. The chicken pot pie had a great flaky crust and the chicken mixture tasted perfect! Our first time at Fitzpatrick's. Went for lunch on a weekday. Staff was great -- food was great! I am a huge fan of pub food and miss the real deal from pubs in England and Ireland until now. :-). The ambience was even very pub-like. Hubby and I both had Guinness Stew and ale (mine was Guiness Stout and hubby's was Blue Moon so we both got our favorites!) Truly - the stew was one of the best things I ever tasted. We went around lunchtime on a weekday and didn't have a wait at all. Looking forward to going back. Waitress was by herself and she was amazing keeping up with tables and tending bar. Food was not the best, I had to send my chicken club back twice, first 1/2 the sandwich was missing chicken and 2nd time chicken was undercooked in several places. They took the sandwich off the bill but didn't seem apologetic about it. I expressed a concern of not wanting to get sick and they responded oh you won't. Delicious food and great service. While we were visiting Solvang, take out was our only option for dining. The gentleman that took our order was great, answered our questions, appeared happy to have our patronage. The food was great (Bangers and Mash) made quickly and hot. We walked to our hotel to enjoy it , and enjoy it we did. For drinks, I recommend the Malarkey Mule (yum, sorry no picture). We were in Solvang recently, and spent a couple of nights at the Petersen Inn. We were looking for a good burger. So I Yelped our location and we landed here. Glad we did. We split a Dubliner Burger, and we also split a side of homemade Mac'n'Cheese. It was an extra $3 for the split and they cut the burger in half and served it to us on two separate platters and gave each of us a fair amount of their handcut fries. It was plenty for both of us. The Mac'n'Cheese was a little on the bland side but still good. The burger we ordered rare and we got just that, and we both agreed it was one of the best burgers we've ever had. The meat was flavorful... just fantastic. I rarely drink, but when I do... I have a Shandy! (Harp and Sprite - $7 for 16oz) The staff were very friendly and attentive. Solvang isn't the same as it was years ago. It still has it's Danish charm to a certain degree, but the original Danes are long gone and the restaurants have lost something in the passing down to kids/grandkids (or selling off the businesses). I highly recommend Yelping the restaurants here before trying them. Fitzpatrick's Tavern was true to it's reviews. We look forward to coming back to try more of their offerings. read more

Great food and even better service. We got into town later than we expected (630pm) and nothing was open other than Fitzpatrick's. The owner took our order with 15 minutes left before closing, was beyond helpful with his suggestions, and had an awesome attitude. The food was great and the portions were huge. Also, the beer on tap is a must. Again more than pleased with the takeout experience and would recommend Fitzpatrick's to anyone. Definitely disappointing. Would not recommend. The menu says the beef is braised in red wine which would the beef would be shredded. However the beef is ground beef. On top of that there is no available restroom and the beer was warm. read more

We love this place. They have some good Irish dishes as well as American fare. We ordered a Shepard's pie, spicy melt burger, and the top sirloin entree. No complaints about anything. DELICIOUS! The back had a house specials sections then a dinner section after 4. When we were going to order the house special they said it wasn't available till 4...I was like so it's 1130 and the Irish breakfast isn't available? One of the best I have ever had. The meat was so good, tender, piled high and not too salty. My husband was crazy for the onion rings, tempura style, onion sweet and soft. The kicker...I had ordered a hard cider and the owner said you have to try it with Guinness. I'm not a dark beer lover, but he made me a Snakebite on the house and I'm sold! Reason for only 4 stars is that we saw 2 different menus, the one at the door and the one at the table. Both different prices. When we received the bill it was even higher than both the other menus. I appreciate the precautions that the restaurant is taking due to Covid, however, my first time in Solvang, first restaurant I encounter and the waitress was so RUDE!! She yelled, did not ask politely, to wear a mask to our table. As we sit at our table, we notice we are extremely close to the table next to us. My husbands back was almost touching the person behind him at our table, so we moved our table over to be more then 6 feet apart, the waitress yelled at us! Yelled, " I can't have you moving furniture, everything is exactly 6 feet apart." Clearly it was not.
