Split the Itallianisimo sandwich with my husband today for lunch and it was so good I wish I would have taken a picture. We are visiting from Texas and close to the hotel we were staying. The lunch option comes with a Caesar Salad on the side, that was pretty good too but may need a little more dressing and Parmesan. Didn't try the Pizza but will stop here next time I'm in the area! Expired foods, they don't care, poor customer Service, and absolute price gouging. They must think potential customers r stupid to pay 2-3x more than what most convenience stores would charge. Be aware!!!! I went to cash in scratchers today, the gentleman behind the counter tried to cheat me!! Short story, I gave him 5 & said I know this one is a winner. He said yes and kept the rest to double check. When I said I wanted them back for 2nd chance drawing he acted "dumb" then said "I haven't scanned the others" even though the screen showed $40 (which was 2 tickets) He was clearly trying to keep a ticket!!! New part of the store serving Middle Eastern fare. Very tasty and affordable. We ordered two chicken kebab plates, a Greek salad and some falafels on the side. The chicken was delicious and perfectly cooked. The hummus was smooth creamy and delicious. The rice was tasty as well. The falafels we're very tasty and cooked nicely. The chili sauce was a nice compliment but you need to ask for that. All in all a great place for take-out. read more

Loved my experience today after trying the food, they have a new management for the Mediterranean Deli. The Falafel was amazing with the hummus & tabouleh. Also the chicken Shawarma was wonderful. I went into the market yesterday to pick up a bottle of tequila. Cashier asked me what price range I was looking for and suggested something in that price range, and then charged me almost double the price and hid the receipt in the cash register. They have food items for sale that have been expired for 3 years!! I found 3 different items like that!! Many items on the shelves were dusty. Maybe they were going to do their monthly dusting later that day, I don't know. The food is way overpriced, too. It's convenient to walk to when the nearby RV Park market is closed, but it's better to get in your car for a 2min drive to Albertson's where it's cleaner, there's a MUCH LARGER and less expensive selection where nothing sold has an expiration date that will make you gasp. I ordered the Chicken Shwarma wrap and was very impressed. I sat at the bar and the cook personally asked if I liked spice and would want to add chilli. The wrap had a golden brown crisp to it. Everything was fresh. The pita bread they served with our dishes was stuffed with juicy meat. Excellent service. Hidden gem in the back of the market. came here after an awful experience at another mexican food place. this place was on point. no taco bar but they set you up with the basic cilantro and onion..i asked for pico and i got pico. 2 tacos chicken and asada de rez both really bomb. and the red salsa is habanero spicy as F**k! and the green salsa is fire! its like avacado tomatillo salsa! price was fair too! loved it! read more

What a wonderful surprise to see this little Buellton Market spruced up. The best surprise was the Mediterranean Grill tucked inside. Great food at a reasonable price. I'm a local and will be back. Heard that this place was new and changed over from old Korean place so we popped in after a round at La Purisima. For those of you who crave good tabbouleh, babaganoush, hummus, and shwarma and feel marooned in SY Valley, this is your stop. Okay, it is a sit-down deli in a liquor store. But the food is top notch, and the owners and staff are really nice. There are about 4- 5 tables and a flat screen TV. I had the rib-eye plate and my friend had the tri-tip plate. We shared some of the tabbouleh and babaganoush I bought to take home and it was excellent. The tabbouleh you get at El Rancho and other stores is full of bulgar wheat as a filler, but not the real thing -- and not the stuff from this place. The prices were super reasonable. Lamb and chicken shwarma are my favs, so I will definitely be back to sample those pretty soon. Granted, if you want to the full-blown Mediterranean restaurant experience with sit down service, flaming lamps, etc, you can't beat Zaytoon in SB, but if you live in SY Valley and want someplace you can walk into anytime of day, looking like you just worked out or played golf and have a great meal, this is it. read more
