In the heart of beautiful Solvang, the winery has picturesque grounds that are nothing short of breathtaking. Whether you're sipping wine inside or strolling through the grounds, the scenery alone makes this place worth a visit. Speaking of wine, the selection here is top-notch. We tried the Signature tastings and ended up leaving with 3 bottles. Every glass was a delight and Scherina was so kind and knowledgeable. The wine is clearly crafted with care, and the staff is more than happy to help you find the perfect pairing to suit your tastes. But what really took this experience to the next level was the food! The lobster roll was out of this world, fresh, flavorful, and packed with lobster that had just the right amount of seasoning. If you're in the mood for something a bit more casual, the smash burger is a must-try. It's juicy, perfectly cooked, and served with a side and a side of chips. It went well with a red blend. We went with a group of five. It was a beautiful day and the vibes were great! Service was very good although the kitchen was a bit slow. We had an odd experience on the way out. We had sent someone up to go up to the stand to pay as we'd been waiting a while and hadn't gotten our check. They paid and we were leaving when we were approached to talk about our bill. We were informed we didn't pay for the full amount of our bill. Rather than being apologized to, as we had asked to pay our bill and thought we had paid, we were accused of trying to leave without paying for everything. It was very uncomfortable considering our service was good and we fully intended to pay our full bill. Strange experience and I did not appreciate feeling accused - the same thing could have been handled through just admitting a mistake and rerunning our card. read more

We opted to sit at the "beach chair" style wooden chairs outside near where the vineyard is and we're able to enjoy the nice breeze as we sipped our wines. We got both wine flights and liked them. I really liked the spicy Pinot from the signature flight. We also got the charcuterie plate to share. Rideau is a must visit if you're in the area! This beautiful vineyard offers Estate Wines, locally grown and Reserve wines. There's plenty of outdoor seating and open space for a group setting. Bring a charcuterie, snacks, food if you plan on being here awhile. They do have a limited menu that offers pizza, smashburgers, and lobster rolls, but it's kind of pricey if you're on a budget. On my visit, I came with a group of friends. We were kindly greeted by the staff and they were very helpful with getting us seated. Reza was our server and did a great job dealing with our group. I say this because we kept changing our seating. It was a sunny but windy day, and a little cold. We couldn't decide whether to sit inside or outside. Eventually we made up our minds! Thank you Reza for being patient with us. If you want to sit inside with a big group, then make a reservation. As for the wine tasting. I tried the Signature wine flight which was really good! This flight includes 2022 Estate Viognier, 2022 'Zotovich' Chardonnay, 2019 "La Encantada" Pinot Noir, 2021 Eighteen Eighty-Four GSM (an expression of 3 Rhône varietals, and the 2021 Chateau Duplantier. The day that my partner and I visited this winery happened to be the day they had a live blues band performing in the outdoor area. We sat at the shaded wooden table, which allowed for a great view of the band and dancers, but there are many other spots outdoors and indoors to sit at as well. We shared the Adobe Flight, a margherita pizza, and a charcuterie platter. The big draw for both my partner and I to this place was that they offered more than just a charcuterie board for food, compared to other places in the area--Rideau has their own in-house kitchen with more hot food options. The wine jam was a big miss for us from the charcuterie platter, but we enjoyed everything else. We both liked different wines from our wine flight, and we were also given a few more to try outside of the tasting menu! They did push the wine club on us, with an additional tasting of a members-only Petite Syrah to try, but we both do not drink enough wine to justify a membership and appreciated the pitch anyway. We're happy to support this winery and their efforts in sourcing and growing locally whenever we're in the area. Walking in and around the property grounds was just as enjoyable as dancing to the band underneath the shade of the large tree that they were set up under. LOVE this place! It's tucked away and feels super peaceful. I came here on mother's day and loved the atmosphere. There were plenty of families enjoying the day with wine. Everyone in our group loved the flight they ordered. There are plenty of tables of customers outside to enjoy the weather, but I recommend bringing blankets as well on crowded holidays. There are two bathrooms available which I'm sure is plenty when it isn't a holiday, but it can get a little crowded during a busy day. The parking lot isn't huge, so I recommend carpooling if you're planning on coming on a super busy holiday. Overall I love this place and definitely will come back! read more

We were excited to visit this location! We each got a tasting flight, and it came in pour your own glasses, which I believe allows for the service to be less frequent--it feels very casual. The wines themselves were good, but the service was not so great. We chose to sit outside as it was a beautiful day, but I do think that this greatly affects the quality of service. It took a while for the serve to come out, and then for us to order both the flights and some food. When the flights came out, there was a brief description of each wine, nothing in great detail. I was hoping to learn about the winery itself and some background about the vineyard, but this was not the case. It feels more like a brewery in that you drink and enjoy the space, as opposed to learning about the process or the vineyard itself. Then, we were disappointed when the food came out, but also now understand why outside food is allowed to be brought in. The pizza didn't seem to be fresh as was my understanding based on the menu, but appeared to be a frozen pizza that had been heated up. The charcuterie board came with a plastic knife which broke when we tried to cut into a soft cheese, and had very small portions of certain things (small slice of apple cut into smaller pieces, 4 pieces of salami). We waited for our server to come back to ask for both a new knife and some plates, but after 15 minutes I just went inside to ask for them. Overall--this is a great casual option. I would come back, but with adjusted expectations. I see that they offer a wine tasting and food pairing experience which I would like to try, and might provide more of the wine descriptions that I am hoping for. read more

I'm so happy my friend found this gem of a vineyard while we were in Santa Barbara. Drove here for a little wine tasting and fun. First, the property is gorgeous. There are areas for people to cop a squat and fo a tasting or just buy a bottle and sip. Picnic tables with shading or Adirondack chairs and tables. Or you can sit inside in the shade. This was my husband's and my first wine tasting ever and we are so happy to have done it here at Rideau! It's a very short drive from the Solvang town center but far enough where you've entered a beautiful country feel that's tranquil and peaceful. We didn't have a reservation but got there when they first opened so we got our first pick of the outdoor seating. Their wine tasting patio and lawn is gorgeous, it was giving cottage core vibe. Our waitress was so friendly and informative. I believe her name is Shrina? We ordered both signature and adobe flights upon her recommendation and she gave very detailed descriptions about each tasting. We order a charcuterie platter and margheritta pizza to share and the food was yummy and just right to pair with the wines! Turning off the road to go to Rideau is a driveway lined with tall trees and the property is just as gorgeous. The main adobe house was built in 1884 and has a bar area and kitchen. There's a covered patio with beautiful décor and lots of seating. The property is huge and has many outdoor seating areas as well with shading, heaters (they also offer blankets) and lawn games. Our pup loved laying on the lawn in the sun. All of your winetasting is given to you at once, so you can drink it at your own leisure, which was great because we barely saw our server and had to go find her when we were ready to head out. We enjoyed the food options and had two pizzas that paired perfectly with the wine. Weekend lobster rolls are also on the menu and we will definitely be back to try these! read more

This winery was really pretty even though we went on a rainy day. They had indoor seating with a transparent tent so we still felt like we were somewhat outdoors and there were heaters inside too. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in. The charcuterie was tasty but we weren't a fan of the 2 wine jams - just not my cup of tea I guess but the thought was there. It was unique. They offered 2 flights, both came with 2 whites + 3 reds. I'm not a fan of reds so I do wish there was an option for an all white wine flight. We got 2 of the same flight (per our server's recommendation) but she brought out the 2 tastings as one large flight instead of two separate flights. A bit disappointing b/c we had to eyeball the pouring of wines to make sure we each had an even serving. If we had our own, we could've just poured the whole thing into our glass w/o trying to measure. Not sure if this is b/c they didn't have sufficient flight vessels to give us our own? Lovely little winery 10 mins from main Solvang. Parking spaces around the building. Part of the lawn overlooks the grapes and what's great about Solvang area is that it's usually a beautiful day out. Make sure to snag reservations on Tock ahead of time. They offer two wine tasting flights: Signature and Adobe. Both feature both white and red wines and showcase the variety of wines Rideau offers as well as neighboring wineries for the Adobe flight. Favorites included the 2017 La Encantada Pinot Noir (signature), 2018 Cuvée Dorée Roussanne, and 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon. Charcuterie Board was fair for $25. Really enjoyed the cheeses, salame, and prosciutto offered. Note one of their jams is wine-infused and best for those with an adventurous palate! read more

First time at Rideau Vineyard. I have been to Los Olivos, Solvang and Santa Ynez area wineries many many times and never visited Rideau. Let me tell you how happy I'm to have stopped by. My husband and I loved the grounds, the service and the wine. Got a few bottles to take home. This place is spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. Family and pet friendly. I was so excited to check out THEE Rideau Vineyard. Iris Rideau is the first Black woman winery owner in the US. So, of course I had to make it a point to get here during our visit to the area. First, we had our little with us and this is a child friendly place. There aren't chicken fingers on the menu or a play place but there's a lot of space to let them run around (supervised and not bothering others, of course). I think they had a pizza on the menu so that might be kid friendly. Onto the wine! It was delicious. Like, everything we had was amazing. I almost joined the wine club. Like, I was verrrrry close but I'm in 3 others so I had to relax hahaha! We took 2 bottles home, but it was really hard to narrow it down to only 2.
