This iconic bakery is my favorite bakery in Solvang! There are so many bakeries in the area but this one has outdoor seating in pink, the floral decor throughout is beautiful. Inside is a plethora of dessert all wonderfully packaged. It's very difficult to decide what to get! We managed to get a treat for each of us. A souvenir of Solvang! They package it in a box with their monogrammed sticker. Definitely stop her while in Solvang!
Sarah Bernhardts was the one bakery item I wanted to bring home but the ones at Danish Mill Bakery looked different than the last time I was there. Good thing I only bought two to try as it tasted different as well. Solvang Bakery came through with how they're supposed to be. Moist, not dry almond cookie topped with a chocolate ganache enrobed in more chocolate. So good, I bought 2 boxes of 6 to bring home and to share, lefse which I rarely see, and apple streudel even though our hotel had breakfast. Worth every bite and the service is excellent as they answered all our questions.
Super cute bakery which had a few different items than the other bakeries in town. Got a jalapeño cheese and ham croissant and a chai latter. The crossaint was warmed up and was delicious! The latte was good as well and service was friendly.
The Solvang Bakery was our last stop before heading out. During busy weekends this little shop is so crowded that we've avoided going inside. Today was a perfectly slow day that we found ourselves the only customers in the late afternoon. We were able to take our time browsing every shelf and display. The gingerbread houses were amazing. Everything looked so tasty, especially those Danish buttercookies beautifully boxed and wrapped with ribbon. I found myself going back to them until finally giving in to buying a couple to share with family. The type and shape of the buttercookies is slightly different in each box. A small bag is also available. Super-cute, bright, clean and organized. Friendly staff. I'm so glad we finally had a chance to visit.
i had seen many people mention this bakery as one of their stops for solvang, and i had to check it out since it was such a cute pink bakery !! the bakery itself was very cute with the all pink tables & chairs and building, and i liked seeing the gingerbread house displays. the shop is pretty small and can get a little stuffy when crowded, but the service is pretty fast. i only ordered the gingerbread cookie to try, and it was honestly just ok. it was pretty dry and not that strong in cinnamon or ginger flavor, so i wouldn't get it again. they did have a cute design tho for summer where the gingerbread has a swimsuit, so i give them props for cuteness! unfortunately since i didn't try the other things, my review is based solely on the gingerbread cookie, but i may try the jalapeno onion cheese bread if i'm ever in the area again since it looked pretty yummy!
The Solvang Bakery is one of a couple Danish bakeries in Solvang California. They all offer similar pastries but in their unique way. The Solvang Bakery offers a delightful section of pastries and breads, including their Jalapeño Onion Cheese Bread, amazing gingerbread cookies, almond kringle, and authentic buttery Danish butter cookies. I personally could not get enough of their amazing Jalapeño Onion Cheese Bread loaf. It has a blend of cheddar cheese, poppy seeds, onion, and a bit of garlic, creating a flavorful experience. Along with its cozy ambiance, clean bakery, and friendly staff, this is a must visit location when in town.
If I could rate them a 10, I soooo would!!! This bakery is bright & full of delightfulness!!! Tons of cute presents for yourself or others. And the service was supreme!!! Their display case was full of goodies & makes u want 2 buy it all. My sister bought many cookies so we each could have 1 & the ladies gave her a discount which they didn't have 2. Super friendly & just a delight 2 shop in!!! Come on in & show them some love!!!
We stopped in for a quick gingerbread cookie to-go and ended up grabbing a small dog-treat bag for our puppy too. Both my dog and I loved our versions! I do wish they had a small bag of the gingerbread men in a cute little gift bag like they do for the butter cookies. However, it was Labor Day, so maybe that's something they offer around Christmas. Either way, it was a cute little stop and definitely worth grabbing a treat for both of us!
Staff? So kind! Inside? SO CUTE!! Outside? Even cuter being pink! Bakery good? I got the lemon bar and it was so good!!!!! The level of lemon and zest in the piece I got was delicious and worth the $4 I paid! Parking can be limited if it's a busy day, right outside of shop but it was pouring rain when we went so we got front parking. Restroom is closed to patrons so we had to walk about a block to go to the public restroom, but they were really clean!
Solvang Bakery is seriously the cutest spot ever. The inside is so visually aesthetic: everything has this adorable pink theme that makes it feel warm, cozy, and picture-perfect. It's one of those places where you walk in and immediately want to take photos because it's just that cute. The service was so nice and welcoming too. They were patient, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. We got the strawberry cheese danish and it was sooo yummy. The filling was creamy and smooth, perfectly sweet but not overpowering. The strawberry on top added a fresh, slightly tangy balance that made every bite so good. The pastry itself was flaky, buttery, and soft in the center, you can tell it's made fresh. Overall such a sweet little bakery with great vibes and even better pastries. Definitely would come back.
Cute shop! A variety of baked goods and little Knick knacks. Cheese danish- 5/10 Gingerbread man - 2/10 (according to my sister. Couldn't taste the spices of a traditional gingerbread man. Stale) Brownie- 7/10 my niece said it was good although there was too much frosting on it) Wicked sugar cookie - 5/10 nothing special. Cute printed cookie. Eclaire - 8/10 (according to my mom) she said it was good. Would buy it again when she's around town. Service was fine. Not too friendly nor rude.
I like the Sarah Bernhart cookies here the best. It's got a good almond cookie base, small ganache and chocolate top. Just the right balance, nothing over powering other parts. Also has apple strudle for breakfast, they can warm it up for you if you like. I saw small birthday cakes, great when you only need it for 2 or 3 people, as opposed to getting a giant 8 inch cake. I want to go back and try more. Service was great, they answered all my quetions and was able to provide shelf life for all the items.
The cutest little bakery with charm and old school feel. The inside boasts lots of fun gift items! ...and is just lovely! The outside reminds me of the perfect bakery! Service is swift and friendly! We got quite a few Danish but ate them in the car all i had left was a strawberry cake
The Solvang Bakery is SO good! I got the Armando on Jasmin's recommendation, and I'm so glad I did. Did I mention you can take a cute pic of you by the windmill as well? Not only is the Solvang Bakery so yummy and pretty it is also situated in a very cute location too. The Solvang Bakery was a top choice for me given all the bakeries here in Solvang not only for the quality, but the price points. Staff is so sweet too! Jasmin could not have been lovelier. She knows the bakery so well and took the time to tell me about all the different baked items before helping me decide on the Armando. I was so impressed by how much Jasmin knew. The Armando is this delicious ring of apple cake with raisins and walnuts, with just the right touch of honey sweetness. SO good! I also love that they have gluten-free options. From the decor to the bakery items, I would say this place is a five star because you can see the care and the homemade aspect of each item but I love is the variety of cookies and pastries and of course people talked about the strawberry cheese danish, which is pretty delicious, but you have the variety of danishes from berries to apple and actually got a small crumble pie there. Service was great. It was pretty quick. It did get busy later on in the day so I would suggest going early seeing the fresh pastries and trying to get what you can. read more

I've been visiting Solvang bakery for more than a decade and the quality is consistently good. During the holidays, the interior transforms to a storybook dream as it's filled with abundant styles and sizes of gingerbread houses and treats that are both cute and tasty. I purchased a dozen gingerbread people cookies and they were still tasty a week later. The bakery gets extra busy during the holidays but the staff keep the line moving efficiently. read more
This bakery is located in heart of the Solvang. They sell a variety of baked goods. They also have different kinds of danish goods to choose from. They have hot and cold drinks too. They also sell packaged cakes, gummies and candy too. For ambiance this is a little bakery . There are couple of tables outside. It is better to order and leave since there might be enough tables. For service, the ladies helping customers was nice and friendly. No complaints about the customer service. P.S I would suggest going to this bakery when you're hungry since there are so many yummy pastries. lol read more
Everything was delicious. There was a long line, but it went pretty fast. We got a regular croissant, a kringle (so delicious with that almond filling!), and a big shareable apple cinnamon bread (similar to a gooey monkey pull apart bread), bringing our total to $21. We have been trying to come here for every trip to Solvang!!! We finally succeeded! It definitely did not disappoint! You approach a candy wonderland with a community bistro vibe. Everyone was just greeting each other, and we made friends while in line! The bakery itself smells so yummy and filled with so much deliciousness! I wanted one of everything! Luckily, we had the regulars share some secrets! We ordered a KRINGLE, LEMON BAR, LEMON DANISH, CHEESE DANISH, STRAWBERRY CHEESE DANISH, BEAR CLAW and a GINGERBREAD MAN. OMG!!! My family bakes, so when I say these are blessings from Santa's own magical oven, I mean it! The lemon bar was demolished by my hubby (lemon anything connoisseur) ... He liked the lemon Danish too but loved the bars! I cut a piece of the strawberry cheese Danish, and good gracious! Not too sweet and the combo of fresh strawberry jam and cheese on a flaky crust was heavenly. Didn't stop there! Tore into my Kringle, and the light flakiness with the perfect filling of custard, cinnamon, nutty flavor with a hint of magic went perfectly with my cafe sua (hot Viet coffee). The cheese Danish was perfectly creamy and not too sweet. Loved it!! The BEAR CLAW is waiting for my hubby...I stole a small piece! Crispy, lightly sweet with cinnamon and yummy! Don't tell him! They forgot to pack the gingerbread man, so we called and they put one aside for us!!! I can't wait to taste that yumminess. The service and bubbly personality of Bree and Barbara put everything over the top! That whole bakery is a welcoming community feel! Came for an Easter theme cookie for my toddler. I was amazed by how much easter decorations they had on display. They usually have a theme for the season. There are many bakeries on Solvang but I seem to always be drawn here. It was not busy when I came so my daughter was able to order the cookie she wanted pretty quickly. Late Review: Solvang Bakery is a boutique bakery that is family owned and operated for over 30 years. This bakery offers Danish pastries, but also specializes in custom gingerbread houses. From what I've read, many celebrities purchase them during the Christmas season. Of course I had to try a gingerbread man! On a side note, we planned to try a Kringle, a type of Danish pretzel with custard and marzipan, topped with toasted almonds. However, we were shocked by its large size and price. $19.95 for a huge pastry that we might not even like, given we were sorely disappointed by the Danish fare we tried earlier. I asked if there was a smaller size available. The employee said she could cut it in half for me. Hmm, I'll just take the gingerbread man please. read more

Is a must stop when visiting town. The pastries are fresh, flaky, and full of flavor, with lots of great Danish options to choose from. It does get busy, but the line moves fast and service is friendly. Definitely worth the stop if you're in Solvang. read more

Warning: some bakery items contain alcohol but they don't tell you. Delicious pastries and danishes. The Kringle is good. Adorable little bakery shop. Beautiful gingerbread houses for sale. The cashier seems to think cold brew and ice coffee are the same thing. (It's not the same, cold brew is less acidity and brewed cold for that very reason.). My son picked something that looked interesting. The girl said it's "oats". My son was eating it, got to the center, and said it has a weird tasting center. I tasted it and holy smokes! There's strong tasting alcohol in the filling! read more
So much to choose from. We were on a hunt for a dessert that was peanut and tree nut free as we had someone with a food allergy in our group and The Solvang Bakery did not disappoint. They had a ton of items to choose from that weren't just danish pastries. They had chocolates chip cookies, butter cookies, cupcakes, etc...the ladies were super helpful and trying to narrow down which would have the least amount of cross contamination and no nuts involved. We ended up getting a bluey/bingo cookie and it was delicious! Highly recommend if you are looking to get a variety of items. Cute little pink shop too! There are quite a few bakeries In Solvang, and many of them sell similar items. However, I would say that the Solvang Bakery has a much greater variety of baked goods and other items. The food is fresh and good and is reasonable priced. They were crowded but had plenty of friendly staff to help. There was a nice seating area outside and was great place to hang out and enjoy the great food. read more

Walked through Solveng on the way up to San Luis Obispo, and heard great things about the bakery, so we had to try the Oreo Brownie. So much good food on this block, the service was laid back and helpful. We wanted to try everything. Ambiance feels like you're in a sliver of Copenhagen or Europe but in Central CA. Nice local getaway for SoCal, if you want to ditch the crowds, get some solid treats and known for the holidays from what we hear. Brownie was good, soft and super sweet. But nothing too special, I want to try the peanut butter one next read more
This quiant bakery is located within the villages stores on Alisal Road. The outside is cute and the inside is bright and welcoming. The girls at the counter are both friendly and helpful. They explained and answered all questions with patience unlike another nearby. The danish are filled with fruit and the crust is buttery. They are so yummy, and they have a wide variety of danish, cookies, etc. This was our fitst time but it wont be the last! A Must when in Solvang! read more
