This is a great cafe. Located close to the center of town, amongst many other shops and restaurants. It can be busy - an attestation to the great coffee, food, bread, and pastries here. Despite the thick crowd, the friendly and helpful staff keep the line moving along. There's a fair amount of comfortable seating and tables. The coffee shop is charmingly decorated with warm wood tones and artwork from a local artist (shout-out to Pavolv Art Gallery). I wasn't able to participate, but it appears that they make fresh bread here and even host bread-making workshops. They also have Whale Bird kombucha on tap and you can purchase a growler too! I was grateful to find a welcoming spot to grab high-quality coffee and savory and sweet breakfast options while visiting! Will definitely be back if/when I visit again.
Mason was our barista, and he was absolutely amazing! super friendly, welcoming, and attentive! The whole place has such a nice, chill, laid-back atmosphere, which makes it perfect for relaxing and enjoying your drink. I also really appreciated that they have a wheelchair-accessible ramp. There are no TVs, which honestly adds to the peaceful vibe and makes it feel like a place where you can just slow down, enjoy your coffee, and be present. We ordered a lemonade and a vanilla latte, and both were amazing! The vanilla latte was especially delicious. Great drinks, great service, and such a relaxing atmosphere. We really enjoyed our experience and would definitely come back!
Ian greeted me with the warmest welcome. He was fabulous at explaining the menu and helping me decide what to order. I ended up getting a hot maple cinnamon latte with oat milk. They roast all their own coffee, making for some delicious espresso. The interior of the coffee shop has plenty of seating for working or chatting. The latte was the perfect temperature but a bit mild in flavor.
Dropped into this cute coffee shop while we were visiting Solvang. Very modern and charming vibe. Their menu is pretty small, but I got an iced latte made with oat milk. The coffee itself was very bold, aromatic, and just the right amount of toasted and nutty with the addition of the oat milk. Service was friendly and the ambiance is welcoming. It was the perfect way to top off the brunch we had just had. Hubby got their iced Americano and he was not as impressed. I think had he ordered a latte or a nitro cold brew it would have been better. Overall I would definitely visit again.
Visiting from San Jose and grabbing morning coffee is great here. The cinnamon roll was my favorite item there- sooo big and the cream cheese is divine (plus tip... heat it up it's life changing).
Came here on their first opening day years ago and knew this place was the next best thing. Visited again and tried their oat milk latte. Refreshing, not too sweet with their classic sweetener and just all around well rounded cup of iced coffee. Great place to relax and study or hang with a friend. Service was friendly, stylish! And offered some knowledge on their menu which is always appreciated.
i usually come here when i'm looking for coffee in solvang! it's solid with great service. the owner seems to be a one man army a lot of the time, which i respect a lot! the space itself is super cute and i'd do work here if i needed to. the most recent time i went, i got the velhrona ganache iced latte with oat milk and it was... just okay sadly. i looked through reviews and people are pretty mixed on its flavoring- to me, it tasted like hershey's cocoa powder and nothing more. it was interesting that i was getting little clumps of cocoa powder in my drink? i also couldn't really taste the espresso in the drink at all. perhaps it just wasn't for me.. also not sure if things have changed, because i remember asking if there are more shots with size increases. i was told there were not, so i got the smallest size available for iced drinks. if i came again, i'd just play it safe with an iced americano or iced vanilla latte or something :p
Stopped here while on a girls trip to Paso Robles. I had always seen it on my trips to Solvang so I am glad I was finally able to try it. It's a cute little shop. They do have limited seating as well as limited parking spots in the parking lot they share with the other businesses. I think we got there and went at a good time since there was only 1 person ahead of us to order. I ended up getting their Turmeric Latte and one of their scones. Like how they have vegan/gluten free pastries. I wish they had a little bit more variety of things but what they had worked for me. That turmeric latte was the best I have had. It's not sweet so do recommend adding your own preference of sweetener. I was able to taste the turmeric which I feel other places I have had one, I would always question if they added turmeric. The scone was really good and flavorful. I was sharing it with someone so I didn't eat a lot of it. Overall, cute little place. Would come back. Especially for that Turmeric Latte.
So happy we stopped in on our way to Paso Robles . Really enjoyed my latte / cinnamon roll was huge! Also, service was friendly . It's a cute spot with parking on the back. It was busy but line moved fast ! I would def return.

I'd first heard of The Good Seed through an influencer on instagram. Blame my algorithm for constantly presenting random videos showcasing popular cafes (well, maybe because I AM always in search of good cafes). We happened to be planning a short road trip and Solvang was one of our stops. The Cinnamon roll came highly recommended and I was lucky to have the very last 2 rolls sold that day. "Wow! I would say that's beyond lucky... that's what they say is 'meant to be'." Ian, our cashier, had just stepped away from the register as I had come up to the counter. I watched for a few mins, waiting patiently to place my order, as he displayed a master class in multitasking. My attention in those few minutes were hyper centralized on Ian's hands as he swiftly placed numerous amounts of cups to their order receipts and filled each one with its desired ingredients. He moved so fast my eyes couldn't keep up. By the time he'd returned to the register to formally greet me - I was so impressed - not a hair out of place and not a change in his mood. His attitude ... consistent. Undisturbed. Composed. His smile ... refreshing. It's what service is supposed to be. "10 out of 10" I didn't get to order any coffee unfortunately; However the cinnamon roll did not disappoint. It was as delightful as I'd expected with great service as the cherry-on-top. Thumbs up on the Good Seed.
Good beans indeed. If you're not sure what to get, try a FLAT WHITE breve (they use Clover half and half) rich and wholesome. $6 tiny but mighty.
This place was packed as the only true coffee shop in town (besides the coffee offered by bakeries but save those for the pastries). But the wait was worth it! I ordered a cortado which if you select "for here" comes in the most gorgeous hand made ceramic cup, as well as a slice of their homemade sourdough bread. The bread can either contain walnuts or not, and come with butter and jam or just butter. It was hearty without being tooth-endangering and the perfect savory complement to soak up the coffee. If you didn't sugar yourself out on the other danish bakeries they also had a delicious and non-danish selection of pastries available. Logistics: - Indoor and outdoor seating - Limited street parking in front but several free public lots nearby - Gluten free sourdough bread and pastries available

My husband and visited the area together, for the very first time and he knows I gotta have my coffee in the morning. We were also looking for dairy free treats(he's got a dairy allergy) or even vegan(easier to find) and holy cow! We found a gem of a place! First off let me tell you about my iced mocha... made with imported French cocoa powder: Valrohna! Say no more. That alone sold me on the mocha! Being a pastry chef and working with this brand over the years... It's amazing! I will most definitely be back for another mocha, next time we're in town. Now, the peanut butter chocolate cookie (not sure if that's the exact name)...AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! Now, I have no food allergies... however, my husband always shares with me. ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY WITH THIS COOKIE! It was a cross between a brownie and a cookie! We were still talking about it, over the next few days! We loved the super comfy rocking chairs! Cute coffee coffee shop in downtown Solvang. My husband is a big coffee snob and he got the Trifecta with Ethiopia Buku and it exceeded his expectations! I got the Turmeric latte with honey and it was so delicious. The employee that took our order was very helpful with his recommendations. Would recommend and visit again next time we are in Solvang. read more

Came in on a Saturday afternoon and I really wanted to love my dirty chai but it just wasn't great. :( there was a good spice flavor to it but I couldn't taste the chai and cinnamon as much as I wanted to and the shot of espresso was weak. It tasted more like milk than anything and was $7.55. I've def had better chai for that price. I'm sure their coffees would've been better so maybe I ordered wrong. It's a comfy chill and pretty spacious cafe with seating and some tables inside. The baristas were friendly and walked me through their menu but it was just so busy that day. read more

They offer a welcoming smile, competitive price and good coffee. Their menu has a modest collection of coffee (hot/cold) and pasties. I came to try their Flat White (s). And it was good. Staff and service was phenomenal. Design and layout were minimal and spacious, respectively. They sell merch and tumblers for visitors. This place is such a gem -- warm, inviting, and full of good energy. We tried the Turmeric Latte and the Blue Moon Milk Latte, and both were out of this world! The turmeric latte was perfectly balanced -- earthy, comforting, and just the right amount of spice -- while the Blue Moon Milk latte was dreamy and soothing with that beautiful, natural color and subtle sweetness. A quick stop in Solvang before the treacherous drive back to LA had me needing a refreshing caffeinated beverage. Came across Good Seed Coffee Roasters and was instantly greeted by the friendliest of staff. The inside decor was very trendy and artsy and the AC was ice cold. I ordered an Iced Mocha that was refreshing and bittersweet making for a decadent, rich coffee drink. Was highly satisfied, thank you! read more

My boyfriend and I found this spot while walking downtown Solvang and it did not disappoint! The matcha was delicious and tasted yummy. My boyfriend really enjoyed his latte too! The vibes were good and the cafe is very cute. Service was also fast despite it being busy on a Saturday morning, I will have to come again next time I am in Solvang! read more

This is a cute spot in solvang and one of the coffee spots that open on the earlier side. The ambiance looks industrial and there's not much in the way of seating but it's got a cute aesthetic and the beans are high quality. I got a latte with vegan chocolate, very rich, decadent, and beautifully made. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about the beans and helpful. read more

Lots of danish bakeries in solvang and very few coffee shops. We stopped by Good Seed for a morning coffee and I had a vanilla latte. Pretty average California tourist pricing for an average latte. Drinkable but nothing to call home about. Solvang needs more cafes! read more

Don't want a Danish breakfast while in Solvang? Are you looking for some delicious coffee? You will find it here at the cute little coffee shop. As a self declared coffee connoisseur I enjoyed a flat white and a cappuccino that had rich crema and velvet texture. Definitely one of the better coffees I've had in months! They also have nice breakfast options that are on the healthier side and they sliced the sourdough fresh for toast. The service was quick and friendly, we forgot our hat and came back for it they were waiting for us! read more
First the good: coffee is delicious and service is friendly. It's crowded on the weekend so be prepared to wait. I get the feeling we should have ordered espresso beverages, those came out quickly and looked good. Our drip coffee took forever because they had to brew more (didn't tell us when we ordered) and they made it wrong and had to pour out and do over (?!?) The comped one, but the wait cost is almost an hour. And the chai latte was so heavy on cinnamon it was too spicy to drink. If you like coffee strong, it's the only place in town though. Update: it's VERY different on a weekday. Quick , friendly, no chaos. Got my daughter a mocha instead of a tea. They make it with housemade ganache. Very rich and chocolatey! read more

I got an iced lavender latte-- it made me feel: refreshed and impressed. The decor? Imagine if Vikings discovered coffee and invented Scandinavian modernism at the same time. It looked like turn-of-the-century furniture from some alternate timeline--clean lines, natural textures, and this subtle historic energy that made it feel both innovative and rooted. I've truly never seen anything like it. And get this: the owner bakes his own bread every morning for the café. You can feel that level of care in every detail. During our family trip to San Luis Obispo, we stopped by Solvang and looked for a good coffee spot -- we found this place based on reviews, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The coffee was excellent, just as everyone said. The stylish interior also stood out and added to the experience. My child's iced Americano was mistakenly served hot, but when we asked for some ice, they kindly made a fresh one instead. That thoughtful gesture really impressed us. Thank you! read more

Lovely place to stop by for a caffeine break before our drive back to Santa Barbara. They feature this Trifecta brewing system for their "pourovers", which they described as an automatic Aeroptess. Really clean, vibrant cup of single-origin coffee (tried the Ethiopian). read more

I ordered the maple oatmilk latte. The woman working gave great service and was very friendly. The latte was DELICIOUS. Honestly best one I've ever had. Highly recommend this place for delicious coffee and lovely atmosphere. read more
I ordered a vanilla latte with almond milk, and you could tell right away they actually care about what they're serving. Smooth, not overly sweet, and the almond milk didn't overpower the coffee. It was balanced, super clean tasting, and honestly one of the better lattes I've had. The vibe inside is relaxed, bright, and just feels like a spot you actually want to hang out in, not one of those "grab your coffee and get out" places. There is parking on the streets and also in the back of the building that a lot people seem to not know. It's a great tip. Service was friendly, and the whole experience felt personal without being over the top. Highly recommend coming here. read more
