Food We were wandering around solvang and craving some sweet and went into danish mill bakery enticed by the display. We ordered a princess cake and some aebleskivers to share. Princess cake was pretty good. Loved the texture of it and wasn't overly sweet but wasn't a fan of the overall flavor. At least that's how many I found myself in, searching for exactly what I found here. A friend and I walked in and out of each bakery looking for what was craving. Every bakery sold the opposite of what I was looking for. Most of them would add sliced almonds in the fruit of the danish. The bread used didn't look fluffy or soft. I was on a serious search and was about to give up until we landed at this establishment. They were neat and organized. Their danish was beautiful to the eyes (I could taste the fruit with my eyes) and wonderful to the tastebuds. I had to exercise self control with my choices. From the fruit inside to the icing on the top, these danish are addicting. I definitely plan to return on my next visit to Solvang. My family and I briefly checked out Danish Mill Bakery just to see what they offered in comparison to the other bakeries in town. Upon entering, we realized how hot it was inside - like uncomfortably hot to the point where I got overwhelmed and just needed to get out of the shop. Before I did, I bought 2 packs of their Danish Haribo gummies that I had never seen or heard of before - we brought them back for a friend of ours who loves Haribo! I also noticed their massive glass counter display of Danish pastries - they looked amazing! We didn't buy anything from them since I was in a hurry to get outside, but man...did they look tasty! We picked up pastries before we left and we picked up a raspberry danish, eclair, and a bucket of cookies. Since we arrived early, we were able to get in and out pretty fast since there weren't too many people there yet. The pastries itself were alright, they were a bit too sweet for my tastes but the flavor was good. We were very surprised at how good the bucket of cookies are! We asked the cashier if we could sit inside and take a bite of some of the patries we bought, she said yes. Here comes another staff very rude and kicked us out, she said if you have to go box you cant sit. The cashier, didnt even explained to us having it in a box. You order at the counter but if you choose dine in, you can sit down and then pay at the end. If you choose take out then you pay at the counter. None of this was clear when ordering though. 9/12/2026 in the afternoon, we walked into the shop it looked nice, the pastries were beautiful. My cousin ordered a few pastries and said she wanted them to go since it was just her eating. My dad then got a few more and we paid and decided to eat there since we all ended up getting pastries. We went to sit because we had not known it would be an issue if we wanted to sit down and they said we could not sit because of a difference in tax (which is BS because we were charged tax and also left a tip) we tried to pay the difference but they refunded our ticket when we went to ask for a knife to cut the pastries, so we left and the pastries were wasted. Danish Mill Bakery has been in Solvang for over 60 years. You can come here for many different pastries and treats. My neighbor brought me a bucket of cookies here and every time I go to Solvang I have to come and pick up a bucket of their butter cookies. Their butter cookies are good and my co-workers even enjoy them. Each bucket comes with five dozen cookies. You can't go wrong with any of them. Danish Mill also sell other treats like Danishes, Danish cookies, cakes, truffles, macaroon, macarons, Kringle, homemade granola, Viking bread, and coffee.
