Not at all surprise that Grains and Grounds is a place I'm going to rave about! It's truly one of my favorite bakery stop in Santa Ynez. This little bakery is located inside Chumash Casino and I get more excited about this pastry shop than the actual resort. Not only are the desserts aesthetically pleasing, they are simply WOW! A different array of desserts are presented each month depending on season or special events. And don't forget about their in house made Gelato Bar. Yummy! Personal favorites are the cake pops and specialty cakes. The cake pops are dangerously delicious and the art, along with the distinctive flavors in their cakes are just astounding. Need something a little bit more filling? Grains and Grounds also serves fresh, pre-packaged salads and inviting sandwiches. A healthier fare that will tie you down until your next meal. Craving Starbucks? This shop also has you covered with some of your favorite Starbucks coffees and drinks. Masks are required for service and social distancing is enforced. Enjoy and please be safe always.

It's a bummer when you lose $ at the casino AGAIN!! Ugh! I was disappointed, but I saw something sweet that can make me feel better. A chocolate cake!! Chocolate marquise ($3.99): chocolate cake, layered with mousse, very thin fudge, topped with sugary chocolate icing and a dark cherry on top. I could really taste the chocolate and it wasn't too sweet. Non chocolate lover would even eat this cake. Starbucks coffee is also available at the bakery. Super friendly and helpful workers. QUCK TIP: IT IS LOCATED AT CHUMASH CASINO, NEAR THE ENTRANCE. 4 stars!! Sweet Stop Cafe is yummylicious!!

We absolutely love the corgi theme. It adds so much personality and charm to the space without feeling gimmicky. The shop has a cozy ambiance, but the standout feature for us was the huge back patio. It is spacious, peaceful, and ideal for getting work done with a laptop, or even with big groups of people. The patio covers provide plenty of shade so the sun does not feel overwhelming, and the WiFi was strong and reliable. We ordered hibiscus iced teas, and they were delicious. It was perfect for an 80 degree day. Overall, a great little coffee shop.

My barista informed that all drinks are two shots so I would recommend the 12oz instead of the 16oz or ask for an extra shot if you're a caffeine lover. There is a great outdoor space for the nice days and a cozy bookstore area for those looking for a calmer atmosphere. Restroom is clean but there is only one as far as I saw which thankfully was not busy. Parking is all residential but it seems like there is plenty and for those looking to do work on their laptops there are definitely plenty of outlets so enjoy. Thanks Lefty's, maybe I'll stop in next time I'm in the area.

The Caesar salad had the dressing on the side (not a problem).. but when I came to eat it the lettuce (no dressing on it) was beyond salty.. it was as if someone had poured salt instead of Parmesan on it. I almost ordered a small charcuterie board for us to share but then thought it'd be too much food so I held off. The sandwiches were unique and not your typical tuna or turkey sandwiches. We were impressed with the taste and quality of the food in addition to the customer service. We ended up coming back a second time 30 minutes before they closed at 3pm. I got the tri-tip sandwich while my husband got the meatloaf sandwich. The owner even came out to meet all 3 of our Shih Tzu. We will definitely have to come back the next time we're in the area.

We were greeted…read morewarmly as we approached the front steps by none other than our waitress from Coast Range and her family, who were having a lovely breakfast themselves ! This cozy gem has limited seating, but is clean, bright, and downright neighborly !! We felt like we've been coming for years by the way we were treated! We ordered the basics .. A bowl of Oatmeal with brown sugar for Wifey, and Classic Eggs Benedict for myself, while we split a generous plate of bacon. The oatmeal was not as creamy as expected but more "natural" as it kept a touch of graininess without detracting from its yummy sweetness. My Eggs Benedict, on the other hand, were "properly" balanced, meaning the eggs were poached with just enough firmness and thick, yolky consistency !! Loved the Hollandaise Sauce as it maintained a thick, buttery warmness with a slight tang enhancing the eggs, the juicy ham layer, and the crunchy English muffin. The home fries were crispy on the outside with a gentle moist texture on the inside and nicely seasoned with every bite ! Our bacon was hand sliced having a perfectly tender and smokey flavour throughout . My coffee cup was never empty, thanks to our attentive coffee server! Our waitress, Chelsea, was so sweet and accommodating to our every request !! We just may make this spot our goto when we're in town! Thanks guys ! Cheers !

Disappointing Service & Order Mix-Up…read more Upon arrival, I asked if I could sit outside. The table I was seated at was dusty and sticky, which wasn't a great first impression. I then waited about 10 minutes before my waitress came to take my order. I ordered the corned beef hash with country potatoes, eggs over easy, sourdough toast, and a coffee. When my food arrived, I was given hash browns instead of country potatoes. I didn't notice right away as I was reading, but once I did, I let the waitress know. Before that, I had asked for mustard on the side, which took about 5 minutes to arrive--even though my table had a clear view of the kitchen. When I mentioned the incorrect potatoes, the waitress paused, said "oh yeah," and walked away without much acknowledgment or urgency. Knowing it might take a while for her to return, I asked for a coffee refill and water at the same time. Overall, there was very little check-in, and the service felt inattentive and slow. When I received the check, it appeared the item had been altered to reflect the change, but by that point, the experience had already been disappointing. I understand places can get busy, but the lack of attentiveness and follow-through made this visit frustrating. I'm not sure I would return.
