Hidden gem! Tbh we went looking for it last night but the whole area looked empty so we wouldn't find it in the dark. I'm thankful we found it today. It's tucked into the Fine shops & Restaurant behind the park. The sign for the Kunafa peeves my interested so much I had to Google it. We came inside, were greeted by a super kind employee. I asked her what it was but mispronounced the name. She smilled & politely corrected me then told me what it was. The guy behind us in line told us it was amazing so we ordered it. My hubby got yhr Arabic coffee (made in sand) I got a salted Carmel latte. It cost $44. The Kunafa was absolutely to die for! We shared 1 & in thankful because it's too much for me. The sweet sauce with the salty cheese & crunch of the philo are a perfect combination. Our coffee was strong, just how we like it. We had great service & food. Definitely coming back for icecream. Wanted a sweet treat after dinner, so we walked over to Cafe Dolce. You can't see it from the street and it's a bit hidden in the back, so you might miss it unless you're looking for it. Cafe Dolce offers breakfast and lunch items, acai bowls, drinks, and more. They also have a huge selection of Lebanese Baklawa, as well as ice cream. They serve a variety of McConnell's ice creams, as well as an additional case of flavors. I noticed they have a baklava gelato, so I decided to get this! This is a hidden gem in Solvang. The food was great, service was wonderful but what stood love and quality you can see was put into this Bakery. The most memorable item was the Grandpa's Cookie, a family recipe. Yes it's a $10 cookie and honestly worth so much more for the taste, texture and love in each bite. Everything is handmade by the owner and delicious. That item alone should be the one thing you don't miss out on when visiting Solvang. Managed to find this gem while a couple in my group were enjoying their shopping experience. It was a treat to get a warm latte and baklava. The coffee was on point and was enjoyable on a day with a little cool drizzle of rain. To be honest I wanted to eat something, but a small piece of baklava was so tasty and my family enjoyed the pieces I saved for them. I ordered an affogato and they poured hot espresso directly into a thin plastic cold drink cup. It tasted like melted plastic and chemicals, didn't finish it. When I offered to pay for a paper coffee cup to fix it, the staff was confrontational, made excuses they were low in stock, and argued with me. They also charged steeply for the coffee, punching in the $7 Americano versus the $5/$6 Drip. The baklava was good but nothing particularly memorable compared to others we've had before. The Turkish coffee was very grainy for my taste, which I know can be typical, but it wasn't something I personally enjoyed. Stopped by Café Dolce in Solvang and really enjoyed it! My wife ordered a macchiato, and I went with a double shot of espresso - both were smooth, rich, and well made. We also tried a few different assortments of baklava, and they were delicious. There are so many varieties to choose from, which made it fun to sample a few. The guy working behind the counter was friendly, quick, and efficient, which made the whole experience even better. Found out his name the next day when we returned again - Sam! He remembered us which felt great because you know he sees tons of customers in a day. The café has a nice, relaxed vibe and plenty of tempting options on the menu. I noticed they also offer breakfast bagel sandwiches, which looked great. So, my wife and I went back a second day and got breakfast. She got a bacon and egg panini and I got the Sam bagel. My wife and I found a great spot in the pain with our small dog. The sandwiches arrived quickly and were still hot, with a wonderful aroma. Both were thick with their choice of meat. My turkey and bacon sandwich was delicious with ample amounts of bacon and avocado. My wife absolutely loved her mortadella sandwich. Portions were good-sized as I barely was able to eat all of my sandwich and my wife had to get a to go box. I came here with my three friends, and I was the last to order. I noticed that all of my friends in front of me were pressured into ordering an additional item they didn't really want, that was more expensive than what they were originally purchasing. The baklava I ordered was OK. I've definitely had better elsewhere. The managers attitude was the real problem. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Needed some coffee after dinner and the first cafe had too long of line so we try our luck here. The line was shorter and once we got inside we saw Dubai chocolate! They also offer many Mediterranean desserts such as Baklava. We just got a latte and a bar of Dubai chocolate ($32.92 for the chocolate and one latte). Yes we didn't know how much was the chocolate but we know they can be pricey . The chocolate was indeed good! The latte was good and definitely needed to tame the sweetness of the chocolate. Rude owner or employee. Not sure if he worked there or he owned it. Asked for a cup of water with my $55 three sandwiches. He refused. I kind of thought that was required by law.
