    Baklava Gelato

Wanted a sweet treat after dinner, so we walked over to Cafe Dolce. You can't see it from the street and it's a bit hidden in the back, so you might miss it unless you're looking for it. Cafe Dolce offers breakfast and lunch items, acai bowls, drinks, and more. They also have a huge selection of Lebanese Baklawa, as well as ice cream. They serve a variety of McConnell's ice creams, as well as an additional case of flavors. I noticed they have a baklava gelato, so I decided to get this! It was pretty good, but I will say the prices are a bit steep for the amount of gelato I received. Fun to try this unique flavor regardless!

10/10!! Sooo good and such great service! Saw some comments mentioning some staff being rude and I didn't see that at all. The family that owns it was so welcoming and fast with their service. They do a great job keeping the tables clean and presenting each item beautifully with nice plates and cups. Food look delicious so definitely trying that next time. My daughter was running all around and the staff was so sweet interacting making us feel comfortable so thanks again!

This is a hidden gem in Solvang. The food was great, service was wonderful but what stood love and quality you can see was put into this Bakery. The most memorable item was the Grandpa's Cookie, a family recipe. Yes it's a $10 cookie and honestly worth so much more for the taste, texture and love in each bite. Everything is handmade by the owner and delicious. That item alone should be the one thing you don't miss out on when visiting Solvang. I own a bakery as well and this by far is one of the best cookies I have EVER had as a cookie connoisseur.

Tried the Arabic coffee. Get something sweet because it's real strong. Make sure you swirl the pot before you pour to get full flavor

Great baklava and smoothie but it was pretty overpriced ($20+ for both). Would return again if I was craving baklava and if I'm in the area though

Hot espresso served directly in a cold plastic cup. Tasted like chemicals.

Pros: Great ice cream for kids (McConnell's), accepts Apple Pay. Cons: Chaotic layout, rude service, and unsafe serving practices. I ordered an affogato and they poured hot espresso directly into a thin plastic cold drink cup. It tasted like melted plastic and chemicals, didn't finish it. When I offered to pay for a paper coffee cup to fix it, the staff was confrontational, made excuses they were low in stock, and argued with me. They also charged steeply for the coffee, punching in the $7 Americano versus the $5/$6 Drip. Overall, hits the spot for a kid's treat, but I would avoid ordering coffee or espresso here until they figure out their inventory and safety standards.

Cafe Dolce *December 13th, 2025 *2pm- Saturday *2 Stars Environment: *Located in Middle of Danish Town, Solvang *Indoor and Outdoor Seating *Forceful Staff Food/Drink: *Turkish Coffee *Baklava Dessert Assortment (4 pieces) I was really excited to try Cafe Dolce after seeing so many photos and videos online highlighting their Turkish coffee. I stopped in with my mom and sister, and we took our time looking over the menu and trying to understand the different coffee options available. Unfortunately, the experience felt rushed. The barista came off a bit abrasive and pushy, making us feel pressured to order before we had fully decided what we wanted. We ended up ordering a Turkish coffee and a four-piece baklava assortment, though I'm not even sure it was exactly what we wanted since the interaction felt so rushed. The baklava was good but nothing particularly memorable compared to others we've had before. The Turkish coffee was very grainy for my taste, which I know can be typical, but it wasn't something I personally enjoyed. While Turkish coffee is traditionally served in a small portion (around 2-4 oz), the $15 price felt steep. That said, watching the coffee being prepared was definitely the highlight of the visit. I'm glad I finally got to try Turkish coffee here, but overall, the experience didn't quite live up to my expectations, and I don't see myself returning anytime soon.

    Cut The Drama

Walking in you are greeted by the BRIGHT atmosphere which is warm, cheery, and boastful of Turkish coffee aromas. An absolutely gorgeous assortment of baked goods includes stunning pistachio treats which - in all transparency I did not try - must be astoundingly delicious. The man who took our order welcomed us before we even made our order and the food came out FAST. The smoked salmon toast was beautifully crafted and the avocado toast presented a citrusy take which worked out just SO well. The flurona latte (espresso + turmeric + oat milk) is AMAZING AMAZING and so is the "Cut The Drama" fresh-made juice. The COVERED outdoor patio area has ample seating, is perfect for families/kids, and provided a chic ambience complete with string lighting. Would recommend a million times over and cannot wait to come back. Make Cafe Dolce your breakfast/brunch/coffee spot on Solvang!

Stopped by Café Dolce in Solvang and really enjoyed it! My wife ordered a macchiato, and I went with a double shot of espresso - both were smooth, rich, and well made. We also tried a few different assortments of baklava, and they were delicious. There are so many varieties to choose from, which made it fun to sample a few. The guy working behind the counter was friendly, quick, and efficient, which made the whole experience even better. Found out his name the next day when we returned again - Sam! He remembered us which felt great because you know he sees tons of customers in a day. The café has a nice, relaxed vibe and plenty of tempting options on the menu. I noticed they also offer breakfast bagel sandwiches, which looked great. So, my wife and I went back a second day and got breakfast. She got a bacon and egg panini and I got the Sam bagel. The Sam bagel was no lie, life changing! I would come back to Solvang just for this meal and the coffee!! Overall, a great little spot for coffee, breakfast, and sweets in Solvang. Sam is the man! Highly recommend for a mid-morning stop or afternoon pick-me-up!

Very friendly. The atmosphere was very quiet and made you feel like home. I tried the Arabic coffee, I've never had it before and it was amazing. We tried the kunafa which w was also a first. Very delicious. Cheesy and sweet all at the same time. Absolutely a must have if your in the area. We're going to come back for the baklava , they had a great variety so we're going to stop back later and grab some for dessertl

I hadn't tried aebleskiver before so I have no point of comparison, but it was a little ball of dough with jam and powdered sugar. I ordered 3 which was plenty to split with my boyfriend just to get a taste of it. It's personally not my favorite since I think I would prefer a slightly crispier fried dough ball but I'm guessing that would be less authentic. I was glad to try it out so easily! The service was quick. It would have been nice if there were some seating outside--there were 2 benches, but it was pretty limited. It made a lot of sense why everyone was walking around with it!

If you order it to-go, it comes in a little paper boat. The Æbleskiver have a pancake-like texture, and the jam and powdered sugar give it a nice sweetness. I just wish there was a little more jam to go with it! Fun to try, and I liked that an order comes with just three pieces, so it's just enough to sample!

Celebrating our nation's 250th birthday in beautiful Solvang!…read more We ate at Craft House four times during our visit--and for good reason! It is, in our opinion, the best restaurant in Solvang. Every meal was exceptional, and the service was consistently outstanding. From the moment we walked in, Daniel welcomed us with a warm smile that made us feel right at home. At our first breakfast, Taylor provided friendly, attentive service that set the tone for the rest of our visits. That evening, we enjoyed the cauliflower appetizer, beet & burrata salad, short rib grilled cheese and black tie burger. Every dish was absolutely delicious. On our second breakfast visit, Sandra took wonderful care of us. She is such an asset to Craft House--knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely welcoming. Sophia, who brought out our food several times, always greeted us with the biggest smile. You can tell she truly loves what she does. Lorenzo and Nora were also fantastic servers who helped make every visit memorable. Over four visits, we sampled several different entrées and breakfasts. The avocado toast and chorizo quesadilla were definite standouts, and every meal exceeded our expectations. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Craft House team for your incredible hospitality, exceptional service, and outstanding food. We can't wait to return!

Since we used to own and run a small business ourselves, we know exactly what that feels like. We had the protein bowl, the pancake combo with Danish pancakes, the Monte Cristo, and the flaky toast. Keep in mind, this was for only two and a half people, and we still had plenty left to take home because the portions are generous. The Monte Cristo was probably the best I've ever had. The flaky toast was incredible and had me wishing I had room for another order. The Danish pancakes were also excellent and definitely worth trying. Another big plus was how family-friendly the restaurant was. We visited on a weekday morning during the summer and only had a short wait, though I can't speak to weekend wait times. The only downside is the service after you're seated. You order at the front counter before being shown to your table, and once your food is delivered, it's not very likely that anyone will check on you. If you need a refill or anything else, you'll probably have to flag someone down. Even with that minor drawback, the food more than made up for it. Fantastic food, generous portions, a welcoming atmosphere, and a great spot for families. I'd happily come back the next time I'm in Solvang.

The staff is very accommodating and gets us in as quickly as possible. It should be noted that at particularly busy times they will stop taking names for parties for an hour to an hour and a half until they get caught up. The staff members are engaging and efficient. It's difficult to recommend a specific dish because everything is good. On this particular occasion, the eggs in my eggs Benedict were over poached, but honestly out of a half dozen breakfasts, this is the only hiccup I've ever experienced. The buttermilk pancakes are very good, but if you've never tried them before, I recommend giving the Danish pancakes, a try; they're very flavorful. Unfortunately, my experience started off on the wrong foot. When my coffee arrived, I noticed what looked like lipstick on the rim of the cup. At first I thought it might just be a stain, but when I touched it, it smeared. Pretty gross, especially for a $4.50 cup of coffee that was very mediocre. The portion sizes were generous, but the food wasn't anything memorable. I ordered the Solvang Danish-style sausage with eggs, hash browns, and an English muffin. I did appreciate that the English muffin was buttered, but the sausage was underwhelming and didn't have anything special about it. My husband ordered Paula's Special with Danish pancakes and warm cinnamon apples. He usually loves pancakes, but he also thought they were just okay. I actually liked the thin Danish pancakes, but I'm not much of a sweets-for-breakfast person. The service also left something to be desired. I found it odd that I had to ask for a water refill instead of it being offered. When I asked for water, the server smiled and nodded but never brought any. I asked again, thinking maybe she hadn't heard me. She returned with a cup full of ice, so I had to ask a third time before I finally got water. Overall, while the restaurant is popular and serves large portions, I don't really understand the hype. Between the mediocre food, the lipstick on the coffee cup, and the inattentive service, it wasn't an experience I'd be eager to repeat.

Since our table wasn't quite ready, they invited us to grab a drink at the attached bar while we waited. This review is specifically about the bar. I was surprised that the bar at a Michelin-starred restaurant didn't have a blender, as it seemed to limit the cocktail options available to guests. My husband's friend asked for a lemon martini and then inquired about a lemon daiquiri. The response from the bartender, Monica, made the request seem unusual or overly complicated, which made the interaction feel less welcoming than expected. I'm sorry but Monica could sure use some tips on customer service and professionalism. I watched this interaction from where I was sitting nearby and it was cringy. If certain cocktails can't be prepared because of equipment or menu limitations, that's completely understandable. However, it would be helpful if those limitations were communicated in a more guest-friendly way and accompanied by alternative recommendations. At a restaurant of this caliber, I'd expect the bar experience to reflect the same level of hospitality as the dining room. Once we were seated, the dining room staff was attentive, welcoming, and accommodating, and the rest of our evening was enjoyable.
