    Cold Brew
    Ivan Lawrence A.

Food Wife and I spent our last day in Solvang having brunch at Brekkies after having been recommended online. We weren't overly hungry so the wife and I just shared a 3 cheese Omelette with a side of danish sausage, and I ordered a cold brew for me. The cold brew came in a glass bottle and it was pretty good. I loved the smoothness of the coffee and would definitely recommend it. The 3 cheese Omelette was pretty good and a classic brunch order. The accompanying tater tots were crunchy and not overly greasy. The danish sausage itself was a nice side to the overall meal Service/Ambiance We had arrived at right around opening, and there was already a line out the door since you order your food at the counter and then you get assigned a seat. The wait wasn't too long probably around 10-15 minutes. The staff were really nice and accommodating and service for the food was reasonable. Overall our favorite brunch at solvang and we would definitely come back

Doc had researched this place for us to get breakfast. At check in we were told a table would be ready once they cleared one off for us. Enjoyed my waffles with additional fruit cup. Doc and hubs had their crepes. So funny the waitress tells us I saw you folks last night for dinner at Red Barn. Déjà vu! And here the very next morning here she was bright and early remembering us. Popular eatery. We arrived just before the crowd arrived and a long waiting line formed outside. Good place to have your first meal of the day. Coffee was refilled by Hannah too. Nice atmosphere, food arrived quickly.

Nice restaurant off Mission Dr. You take a menu from the front and order with the staff first, then get sat down either inside or outside. Workers were polite and answered one of my questions. For soft drinks, they have Coke products. It does not say specifically on their menu. Inside has a lot of room for customers and the ability to combine tables. Outside was nice as well, with umbrellas for shade and more room. Food and drinks came out fast. The cups were a bit smaller than normal. The food was delicious. We got Chilaquiles and Spicy & Hot Omlette that comes with Tator Tots and Toasted Bread. Everything tasted great with no issues. There is only 1 bathroom, so there will be a line. It was clean inside though. I would come back again!

Definitely loved the experience of coming to a brunch place right in Solvang. Expect an hour wait ish and then pay in front and get the danish pancakes!!! Cool interior as well and good service even though it was too busy for the waiter to come by. Skip the coffee.

Food at Brekkie in Solvang was great, and the service overall was good. Just be prepared for long lines -- we waited about 49 minutes to order. What really disappointed us was an interaction with one staff member regarding seating. We understand the policy about not saving tables, and normally that would be completely fine. However, we were next in line to order, there were still plenty of open tables at the time, and we were with 5 kids, a baby, and a senior citizen grandmother. While the parents were ordering, our grandma sat down with the children thinking it would be okay since we had already waited so long and were about to order. Unfortunately, a staff member came over yelling at us and aggressively shooing us away from the table. The way she spoke to our grandmother felt extremely rude and unnecessary. A little kindness and consideration would have gone a long way, especially with children and elderly family members involved. I don't want to make assumptions or turn this into a bigger issue, but the interaction left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was disappointing because the food itself was genuinely very good. Hopefully management can address how situations like this are handled in the future, because no customer should feel disrespected while dining with their family.

Brekkies was hands down the best food my family and I had while on our mini vacation in Solvang! We arrived around 8:30am on a Saturday to a small line, but it moved fairly quickly. You order at the counter and then they have you sit at a table - they do not allow you to sit before ordering which I liked. It allows for the kitchen and staff to stay on top of orders and to help everything run smoothly - plus it cuts down on allowing people to save tables. We ordered the Belgian Waffle, Corned Beef Hash, Biscuits and Gravy and Danish Pancake. Everything was fresh and delicious, including the coffee and fresh squeezed OJ! The inside has a decent amount of seating, I believe there might have been an additional room as well, plus outdoor seating. Staff were very friendly and personable! They came around and checked on us, refilled water/coffee and cleaned plates. Overall, we absolutely loved this place - we almost came back again on Sunday, but the line was really long and we needed to get on the road to head home! Fun fact: Brekkies is British slang for...breakfast! Also, the owner of Brekkies also owns 2 or 3 other businesses in town included Chomp Burgers which was also very good! If you're ever in Solvang and looking for a breakfast/brunch spot, I highly suggest checking out Brekkies!

Pretty solid breakfast for a reasonable price, although nothing worth waiting in line for. My mom and I shared their signature danish pancakes and a corned beef hash. The pancakes were reminiscent of a mix between a crepe and pancake with a subtle sweet eggy flavor. I enjoyed that it wasn't supper dense or overly sweet. Simple and plain. We also liked the corned beef hash but the portion for it wasn't great. Tater tots and bread helped to fill us up. We got here around 10:45AM and waited in line until around 11AM to order at the front, then got seated immediately after. Food came out at 11:15AM. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a very homey cozy looking spot that looks like a neighborhood favorite.

This place was AMAZING for breakfast! I went twice while I town. The spicy omelet with andouille was delicious and so fresh! It had a kick to it and you didn't even need to had a hot sauce! Great coffee as well. Loved sitting on the patio with great weather. Service was lovely. Highly recommend if you are in Solvang!!

My sister and I came here for breakfast. It did not disappoint. Great car of breakfast. I ordered chilaquiles with a Bellini and my sister had a veggie omelette with orange juice. I have to say my favorite was the beans. They were so flavorful, a nice surprise from never having to notice beans tasting so great. You come in order and pay. Then they will give you a number. The drinks and food came quick. Everything was good. This was one of my sister's favorite places to eat. Service was great. They came often to check, all staff were youngsters truly working. The ambiance is very cool. At the entrance there's several napkin drawings. So many talented artists. Some of my favorites were the Solvang town and yoda. Plenty of table and booth seating inside. There's also outdoor seating.

Best breakfast in Solavng. We came in on a Sunday around nine. You order at the register and then you get seated. Your food is brought to you. You get refills on your coffee and water from the servers. Food is delicious! I absolutely loved my omelette. It was huge too. I couldn't finish it and it still tasted good the next day. They have a great patio from the weather is nice. It is dog friendly.

They don't waste any time here. You order with the cashier, pay for your order and then you're seated. All the staff that came to our table were nice and happy. Your food arrives quickly. We ordered the eggs Benedict and the corned beef hash. Lived the crispy tots! They have indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoors needs a bit of a cleaning - but overall we enjoyed our breakfast and appreciated the efficiency with a smile.

The food and ambience was amazing. We dinned outside, with a beautiful view of the shop. We ordered the spicy & hot omelette & the pancakes with a danish. Everything was so delicious! We will be coming back the next time we are in town. The service was mid

Upon arrival in Solvang on a a Sunday afternoon, we were in desperate need of food and turned to Brekkies by Chomp to fill that need. It seemed only right and natural to order the Danish pancakes, with a side of Danish sausage. The Danish pancakes are thin, kind of in between a crepe and an American pancake. These had a slight lemon flavor and were sprinkled with powdered sugar. The sausage was a larger link type sausage with a mild flavor. Enjoyed the meal and it was definitely filling. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed eating outdoors. The surroundings are pretty stark/no-frills but, who needs frills when the food speaks for itself.

I hadn't tried aebleskiver before so I have no point of comparison, but it was a little ball of dough with jam and powdered sugar. I ordered 3 which was plenty to split with my boyfriend just to get a taste of it. It's personally not my favorite since I think I would prefer a slightly crispier fried dough ball but I'm guessing that would be less authentic. I was glad to try it out so easily! The service was quick. It would have been nice if there were some seating outside--there were 2 benches, but it was pretty limited. It made a lot of sense why everyone was walking around with it!

If you order it to-go, it comes in a little paper boat. The Æbleskiver have a pancake-like texture, and the jam and powdered sugar give it a nice sweetness. I just wish there was a little more jam to go with it! Fun to try, and I liked that an order comes with just three pieces, so it's just enough to sample!

Celebrating our nation's 250th birthday in beautiful Solvang!…read more We ate at Craft House four times during our visit--and for good reason! It is, in our opinion, the best restaurant in Solvang. Every meal was exceptional, and the service was consistently outstanding. From the moment we walked in, Daniel welcomed us with a warm smile that made us feel right at home. At our first breakfast, Taylor provided friendly, attentive service that set the tone for the rest of our visits. That evening, we enjoyed the cauliflower appetizer, beet & burrata salad, short rib grilled cheese and black tie burger. Every dish was absolutely delicious. On our second breakfast visit, Sandra took wonderful care of us. She is such an asset to Craft House--knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely welcoming. Sophia, who brought out our food several times, always greeted us with the biggest smile. You can tell she truly loves what she does. Lorenzo and Nora were also fantastic servers who helped make every visit memorable. Over four visits, we sampled several different entrées and breakfasts. The avocado toast and chorizo quesadilla were definite standouts, and every meal exceeded our expectations. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Craft House team for your incredible hospitality, exceptional service, and outstanding food. We can't wait to return!

The staff is very accommodating and gets us in as quickly as possible. It should be noted that at particularly busy times they will stop taking names for parties for an hour to an hour and a half until they get caught up. The staff members are engaging and efficient. It's difficult to recommend a specific dish because everything is good. On this particular occasion, the eggs in my eggs Benedict were over poached, but honestly out of a half dozen breakfasts, this is the only hiccup I've ever experienced. The buttermilk pancakes are very good, but if you've never tried them before, I recommend giving the Danish pancakes, a try; they're very flavorful. You can add fruit to them, typically cinnamon apples are enjoyed by my family, but you can also have them just with butter and syrup.

Unfortunately, my experience started off on the wrong foot. When my coffee arrived, I noticed what looked like lipstick on the rim of the cup. At first I thought it might just be a stain, but when I touched it, it smeared. Pretty gross, especially for a $4.50 cup of coffee that was very mediocre. The portion sizes were generous, but the food wasn't anything memorable. I ordered the Solvang Danish-style sausage with eggs, hash browns, and an English muffin. I did appreciate that the English muffin was buttered, but the sausage was underwhelming and didn't have anything special about it. My husband ordered Paula's Special with Danish pancakes and warm cinnamon apples. He usually loves pancakes, but he also thought they were just okay. I actually liked the thin Danish pancakes, but I'm not much of a sweets-for-breakfast person. The service also left something to be desired. I found it odd that I had to ask for a water refill instead of it being offered. When I asked for water, the server smiled and nodded but never brought any. I asked again, thinking maybe she hadn't heard me. She returned with a cup full of ice, so I had to ask a third time before I finally got water. Overall, while the restaurant is popular and serves large portions, I don't really understand the hype. Between the mediocre food, the lipstick on the coffee cup, and the inattentive service, it wasn't an experience I'd be eager to repeat.

Since our table wasn't quite ready, they invited us to grab a drink at the attached bar while we waited. This review is specifically about the bar. I was surprised that the bar at a Michelin-starred restaurant didn't have a blender, as it seemed to limit the cocktail options available to guests. My husband's friend asked for a lemon martini and then inquired about a lemon daiquiri. The response from the bartender, Monica, made the request seem unusual or overly complicated, which made the interaction feel less welcoming than expected. I'm sorry but Monica could sure use some tips on customer service and professionalism. I watched this interaction from where I was sitting nearby and it was cringy. If certain cocktails can't be prepared because of equipment or menu limitations, that's completely understandable. However, it would be helpful if those limitations were communicated in a more guest-friendly way and accompanied by alternative recommendations. At a restaurant of this caliber, I'd expect the bar experience to reflect the same level of hospitality as the dining room. Once we were seated, the dining room staff was attentive, welcoming, and accommodating, and the rest of our evening was enjoyable.
