I really wanted to love this restaurant. I was excited to try this restaurant. Something missed during my visit. We made reservations through Open Table. Our reservation was at 6:30 so the restaurant wasn't fully crowded. We were seated and it took 15+ minutes for someone to come to our table (we almost walked out). The restaurant is contemporary and sheik. We quickly placed our order for both appetizers and main dishes. We asked that the dishes come out as it was prepared and ready. Three dishes came out pretty quickly. We waited another 20 minutes for our fourth dish (miso cod) to come to the table. There were some major misses with the food: Hamachi appetizer. This raw fish dish was served at room temperature / borderline warm. It seemed like they served us fish that was sitting out on the counter all afternoon. Seemed rather unsafe to eat. Grade: C Chicken wings: 6 pieces of chicken wings. 3 prepared with a Korean inspired sauce. 3 prepared with a Japanese soy style. Grade B Uni Sushi. One Uni sea urchin, 4 pieces, served on a bed of rice. Side sauce. The Uni was fresh. The rice was plain / unseasoned. Hence the dish lacked flavor other than the ponzu sauce that was poured on it. $25 for 1 piece of sushi. Grade: B- Miso Black Cod: this dish was unique. It was more like a heavy soy glazed marinated fish. The marinade wasn't what we were expecting but sufficed. It was served on a bed of blanched spinach. Grade: B Service was off. Our main waitress was scarce throughout our meal. However the backup staff (beverages / water refills, changing plates) were outstanding. The manager on shift that night was really nice. We paid our bill and you could tell there was tension in the air. Maybe this was an off night, but I'm not sure if I'd rush back to this restaurant. I really hope that this restaurant does well. It seems like it has a lot to offer the community.

Had a very nice first meal during restaurant week. Tried the prix fixe meal with coconut soup, gado gado, Bok choy with sweet bbq pork and chocolate mousse. All great! My hubby had the mussels which he liked. Very nice service from Tiffany and Tony- appreciated their friendliness and helpfulness. Also a nice interior too!

We stopped in Solvang for brunch and decided to give this spot a try after walking by, checking out the menu, and noticing Chef Budi Kazali's name. The French-Asian fusion cuisine caught our attention. It wasn't too busy so we had our choice of seating in the Parisian-style bistro. We shared the breakfast burrito and the pancakes, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. I especially loved the pico de gallo and the sauce on the side. The buttermilk pancakes had a great chewy texture and were topped with a strawberry yuzu compote. Overall, we were really happy with our meal as you can tell they source seasonal and locally sourced produce. The large patio is very dog-friendly and while there's plenty of indoor seating, most guests opted to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. There's also ample public parking conveniently located across the street.

Was looking for a place with vegetarian options and found this place. It's super cute outside, and the inside feels swanky. Everyone who worked with us were super nice and answered all our questions. Garlic Noodles (10/5 stars) - could use way more garlic but the taste was incredible. It's got a light creaminess to it. Poached Pear Salad (4.9/5) - this salad was almost perfect but the argula was dressed in an extremely sour dressing that almost ruined the salad, but all the other parts worked so perfectly together that you just gotta pretend the sour is not there. Housemade Scallion Focaccia with Garlic Chili Crisp (5/5) - the garlic chili crisp was addicting and had a good heat to it. I added a lil to the garlic noodles and wow that combo was amazing Overall, super nice restaurant which great vegetarian options.

The Gathering Table *December 13th, 2025 *12pm- Saturday *4 Stars Environment: *Located in Middle of Danish Town, Solvang *Indoor and Outdoor Seat *Quick Service *Street Parking Only Food/Drink: *Breakfast Burrito *Pancakes *The Burger *Nasi Goreng (Indonesian Fried Rice) We stopped by The Gathering Table while exploring Solvang, and its location right in the heart of Danish Town made it an easy and convenient choice. The staff was friendly, and our food came out quickly, which was appreciated during an extremely busy weekend during Christmas Jule Fest. The breakfast burrito was a standout with generous portions and great flavor. The burger and nasi goreng were both good, though a bit saltier than my personal preference. The pancakes were enjoyable, but the strawberry yuzu compote was definitely the highlight! It really made the dish different from any other pancake I've had before. Overall, a solid spot with a good variety of options, and I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Good experience here. We came for an early dinner. Our reservation was initially inside, but it was pretty loud inside, and my dad asked if we could sit outside with heaters. No problem (except they had high tops and my poor dad who has a smidge of mobility issues had some small challenges). They provided heaters aplenty. Tawni was our server and was friendly and helpful! We got the charred cabbage (probably my favorite of the night), some miso black cod (super tender but a bit on the salty side), roasted cauliflower, garlic noodles, and the lamb chops (lollies - I felt like these could have been bigger pieces, for the price). We ended with the Thai tea bread pudding, which was good. Ok, honestly, everything was a bit heavy-handed in terms of flavor - just this side of salty. Nice ambiance though, and there is a section with a firepit. And the service and management are on point here.

The fusion aspect of this restaurant is super fun! I would probably give 4.5 stars if I could. There were items I have never tried that I really enjoyed like the smoked eggplant that had a light breading on it and when you took a bite it melted in your mouth. This was part of the lamb entree served also with a curry type sauce and potatoes. This was a very unique twist on an entree that seems to served very similar ways at other restaurants. We also absolutely loved the mussels that had Thai flavors busting through. The roasted garlic noodles were also a top contender. The miso cod was also delicious just a little on the small side since they paired it with sautéed spinach only. There was not one item we did not enjoy. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Sunday evening so the service was great up until we got our last course and we never saw our server again who was in the kitchen. We did have two other workers come up to our table after we were done eating to see how we enjoyed everything. It just would have been nice to see our server again. Even when we were ready to pay I had to go find him.

Hands down the best dinner in Solvang. They came highly recommended from all of the locals and did not disappoint. The service was perfect from beginning to end. The food and drinks were excellent. We both shared our meals and couldn't decide who had the better dish because they were both so flavorful. The location is right in the middle of town, super clean, and relaxing. This will be my go to spot for dinner.

A pleasantly aesthetic ambiance. The restaurant has a beautiful patio and the interior is lovely as well. Friendly and knowledgeable service. When I asked about vegan options, the wait staff recommended the hash without egg and it was absolutely delicious.

Wonderful restaurant in Solvang. Our server was very attentive and the vibe is nice and casual. I had the Mussels, and they were delicious. I think there were 17 mussels in my bowl, and the broth was fantastic! I will be back one day (live on the east coast).

After walking in and passing the host stand, a server who was seated at the bar got up, walked us to a table, and suggested we sit on the loveseat. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the space itself seemed promising. We were excited to settle in, have a drink, and check the place out. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but shortly after we were seated, a larger group came in. From that point on, it felt like we were completely forgotten. The server focused on the larger party, taking drink orders and delivering beverages as more guests from their group arrived. Meanwhile, we sat waiting without any acknowledgment. Another group of ladies was seated nearby and appeared just as confused about who was helping them. We both work in the restaurant industry, so we understand that larger parties can demand attention and that things don't always go perfectly. We tried to be patient and give the team the benefit of the doubt. However, after waiting more than 15 minutes without anyone checking on us, taking a drink order, or even acknowledging our table, we decided to leave. What made the experience especially frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived. We never felt welcomed beyond being shown to our table, and ultimately it felt like our business wasn't valued. Hopefully this was just an off night, because the atmosphere and concept seemed like something we would have enjoyed. We'd be willing to give it another chance, but first impressions matter, and unfortunately this one missed the mark. Sadly, it looks like we definitely missed out on the famous Bowl for Two.

It is, in our opinion, the best restaurant in Solvang. Every meal was exceptional, and the service was consistently outstanding. At our first breakfast, Taylor provided friendly, attentive service that set the tone for the rest of our visits. That evening, we enjoyed the cauliflower appetizer, beet & burrata salad, short rib grilled cheese and black tie burger. Every dish was absolutely delicious. On our second breakfast visit, Sandra took wonderful care of us. She is such an asset to Craft House--knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely welcoming. Sophia, who brought out our food several times, always greeted us with the biggest smile. You can tell she truly loves what she does. Kelly seemed more focused on catering to a small group of guys in cowboy hats than maintaining the vibe that actually makes this spot stand out. Instead of reading the room, she and her May 1st bartender colleague locked into a single stream of country music that clearly wasn't resonating with most of the crowd. That's really the frustrating part, it wasn't just a music choice, it was the complete lack of awareness or willingness to adjust. People weren't being heard, requests were ignored, and the whole "records" concept felt pointless when it was treated so rigidly. If you're going to lean into vinyl as part of the experience, it should feel curated, responsive, and a little bit special, not like someone just putting on their personal playlist and tuning everyone else out. The drinks were genuinely great, which makes the situation even more disappointing. The potential is clearly there, but the execution on the atmosphere just didn't match. If the records are going to stay, they should actually be used to enhance the environment, not limit it. Otherwise, it might be better to ditch the gimmick entirely rather than let it drag down what could be an otherwise standout spot.

I was surprised that the bar at a Michelin-starred restaurant didn't have a blender, as it seemed to limit the cocktail options available to guests. My husband's friend asked for a lemon martini and then inquired about a lemon daiquiri. The response from the bartender, Monica, made the request seem unusual or overly complicated, which made the interaction feel less welcoming than expected. I'm sorry but Monica could sure use some tips on customer service and professionalism. I watched this interaction from where I was sitting nearby and it was cringy. If certain cocktails can't be prepared because of equipment or menu limitations, that's completely understandable. However, it would be helpful if those limitations were communicated in a more guest-friendly way and accompanied by alternative recommendations. At a restaurant of this caliber, I'd expect the bar experience to reflect the same level of hospitality as the dining room. Once we were seated, the dining room staff was attentive, welcoming, and accommodating, and the rest of our evening was enjoyable.
