The loaded mac and cheese was the perfect amount of seasoning. The entrees were good. I'm not a big fan of ribeye, but I enjoyed it so much! It was tender and cooked perfectly. This is one of the most recommended places if you ask the locals in the town, and that's always a good sign. It's on the corner of Copenhagen Street, and outdoor seating had a nice cozy vibe with heaters in the patio setting. We chose to sit inside as it was a little chilly in the evening. The staff was super helpful and very patient, as we struggled to finalize an order. They even changed my order after I put it in. The ribs were great, and their homemade bbq sauce hits the spot. Stopped in with my wife and family just after their opening on Tuesday. Believe we might have been first in the door. Though my wife and I have visited Solvang many times in the past, this place was not around. We were all very happy with our visit! We opened with cocktails, mine was the Maple Bacon Old Fashioned. Note, went during restaurant week. Restaurant week option ($30) for 3 course meal, and additional $20 for drinks flight. Great spot if you're in the Solvang area. Can't believe I've missed it before. Happened to be Restaurant Week so I was able to get the special for $30 that included a Farm Salad, half rack of baby back ribs and a side, plus a chocolate smoked S'mores Mousse. All yummy! Came here on MLK and made reservations on Open Table but since we were there at opening -- we were good. They have a nice patio as well as indoor seating. Very good service and they didn't mind our small dog -- very accommodating. We both split the brisket sandwich which was good. Though I thought it would have been more like slices then pulled but still good. They gratefully split it for us and we also had a side ceasar salad and a beer. First, they don't take reservations on the weekend. What? Upon arrival, the hostess greeted us warmly. She informed us that the wait was about 20-minutes. There were a couple of seats open at the bar so we opted to grab them. Turns out the menu at the bar is the same as dining seating. This place is so cute and amazing! It's nestled in the hills of solvang with so much charm. The food is great and not overly salty like most bbq spots. The young waiter was unable to answer questions about the drinks, seeming bothered by questions, and finally said "they just all come pre-made". So that made us wonder about everything else. Food was pretty good overall. Burnt ends, while fabulous, were just pieces of meat cut and cooked, not "burnt" by any means. Salad had Ceasar dressing with minimal flavor. We were fortunate enough to walk in and get a table despite not having a reservations with no wait but had to sit a the short counter at the bar. We lucked out after grabbing our seats with an open spot at the high bar before we even had a chance to order a drink. There were lots of tables filled with very happy patrons so we were glad to find a quick and easy spot to grab dinner for the night. Both of our bartenders were wonderfully friendly and very attentive. They answered all our questions and made great suggestions. We peeked around at other tables to see what was most popular and we saw everything on the menu around us. Everyone seemed very happy with their food and lots of empty plates going back to the kitchen so we were very confident we'd be happy with our meals. We got the brisket w elote corn quarters and seasoned fries and the brisket chili and it was all very delicious. The portions were generously sized but not overly so which was perfect for us. Our meals came out so quickly and everything was just perfect. We walked there from our room so I don't remember seeing if there was any parking. I do know that there are tons of parking areas and street parking. I don't expect that parking would be an issue for anyone wanting to come in. They give you 2 large slabs of brisket. Its smoked well. So tender and juicy. Just fall apart goodness. We'll seasoned and flavored. We got their sides of elote and seasoned fries. Both were amazing. I squeezed the lime garnish into it, but unfortunately that drowned out the other flavors. My next choice was the peach old fashioned, which was delicious. My +1 tried an espresso variety that was a lot stronger and had notes of butterscotch in addition to the coffee flavor. We both tried brisket, hers in a sandwich and mine straight. It was well cooked and delicious. We also enjoyed our sides. We also ordered a "children's" cheeseburger, but that was a full-sized slab of meat that was well cooked. Aw man, I hate to put in a low rating but my husband and I didn't have the best experience with the food! The burger my husband got was 6 out of 10 and overpriced for the size. I asked for a non-dairy (I'm lactose intolerant!) salad (no blue cheese/ranch), then I found clumps of blue cheese toward the bottom of the salad - which makes me speculate that the chefs may have added it and then saw the ticket that says "no cheese" then scooped out as much as they could instead of making a fresh batch. I didn't want to be "that gal" and make a fuss, and I didn't get to finish the salad at the restaurant anyway so I picked out as much as I could during the sit down part -- however upon returning home to finish the meal, I found even more blue cheese hiding that I had to just throw out the entire meal we did come on a rainy day (which made it even more disappointing as we wanted to escape the rain with a delicious meal!) If you're looking for something familiar and more in Solvang, then this is the spot. Negatives: -price, it's a little pricey though they do allow you to split portion without an additional charge. After walking by and seeing the people enjoying the outdoor seating for years we finally decided to give them a try, but we sat indoors. The service was very good. The atmosphere inside is somewhat like a higher end sports bar crossed with a higher mid range steak house. There is loud music playing and TVs with games on. There is a lot of public parking in the area but the closest lot behind the restaurant can get full during the tourist season in Summer and the holidays. There is street parking also available near by. If you are staying in Solvang everything in the main tourist area is within walking distance--just how far you want to walk. Even though a BBQ-steak place, we both got salads. One salad had filet mignon and the other chicken as toppings. Both meats were well seasoned but dry. The filet was not their fault as I forgot it should always be ordered rare or medium rare and never more than that. However, the chicken was cooked to the same level of dryness. The rest of the salad items were fresh tasted good. We got a rum & Diet Coke with the shot on the side and they did not skimp on the shot.
