This place looks so classy, cozy, and top-tier, especially from some of the reviews, but sadly, the service did not match my expectations. That's why I'm giving 3 stars. The food was just okay--not a "WOW, I'll definitely come back" kind of experience. For a place like this, I was surprised they had already run out of brisket. Considering the price, I honestly don't feel the food was worth what we paid. It wasn't bad, but it was just okay. The biggest issue for me was the service. They really need to work on being more attentive, especially with refilling drinks and water. Our salad, which came with our order, was served after our main meal, and I actually had to ask the waiter about it. There were also moments when I felt the waiitress could have been more mindful and courteous. We were still talking, and instead of waiting or politely excusing herself, she interrupted us and handed us the payment, while we were literally still eating and finishing our conversation. For a restaurant with this kind of atmosphere and pricing, I expected a much higher level of service. The setting definitely has potential, but unfortunately, the overall experience did not leave me wanting to come back.

My new favorite place!!! Here for work and found this gem! I orders the brisket with two sides ( elote and garlic smashed potatoes). Who would have ever have thought the elote was gonna be more than just a corn on the cob?? The sauce on there was so scrumptious! Good enough to pick off the fingers!! The brisket was so soft and melt in your mouth!! Keri is the nicest server ever!! She is so attentive, refilled my soda and had a great conversation!! I'm going back every time I have a work trip and for happy hour!

Had lunch today at Whiskey N' Rye Smokehouse. Kat the hostess seated us at a nice table inside the outdoor patio. Ruby was our server and provided quality service with a smile and Jake delivered our meals. My wife had the smokehouse burger and I had the chicken sandwich. Both meals were good. A nice day in Solvang. Recommended.

Stumbled into the town Sloving, CA--then accidentally found this gem! However, the crown jewel was the bartender, Riley--knowledgeable, energetic, and super friendly. She informed me about happy hour and half price appetizers--it was extremely easy to enjoy this place! The atmosphere was smoky and inviting, filet mignon tips were charred with deliciousness, but the sweet chili wings were phenomenal. Honestly-food was exquisite--the service and Riley's signature sense of humor solidified the place as a 14 out of 10. Definitely a be back spot!!!

We were really excited to try this place because it smelled amazing. We got there around 7pm and got seated with in 15 minutes. The hostess that sat us was very nice, the server was nice enough, but I wouldn't go to say she was friendly by any means. Possibly she was very busy all night and we were one of her last tables and she didn't have much left. I understand as being a server is a hard job. The restaurant itself was very farmhouse chic with bbq cookout touches here and there. My husband and daughter ordered burgers because they were out of brisket, and they said they were okay, but nothing to write home about. My chili however was amazing. I am a big chili person, and will now be adding pieces of brisket to my chili at home. My husband ordered a whiskey flight. We are big whiskey lovers, but it fell short of our expectations. The flavor wasn't there for most, but I do have to say the espresso old fashioned was a 5/5 and I would order that again! Overall I'd say the experience and meal was a 3/5, but we'd probably try a few other restaurants before returning back.

Got recommendations from the girl behind the ice cream counter that this was her favorite place for dinner. Kinda sounded like a bar to me but it was a popular restaurant with available parking behind the restaurant. Our server took our orders which arrived shortly after. We had an outdoor table that just escaped the strong late afternoon sun like some other tables who were squinting their eyes. I ordered a bit too much: half rack of ribs with cole slaw, sweet chili and salt and vinegar wings, Cesar salad.

Haiku: Whiskey N Rye Smokehouse Nice spot in Solvang Came for the Easter prix fixe The bar is a vibe. --- Staying in Solvang, I was craving some BBQ and found this place. However, the night that we came, they were only serving their Easter prix fixe dinner. I was at least hoping their popular baby back ribs or smoked beef brisket would be on the menu. (The ribs were only on the kids' menu). Despite not being able to order their BBQ, the star of the prix fixe meal items was the Grilled Salmon. It was perfectly cooked--moist, flaky, and tender. The seasoning was on point, too. The Coffee & Chili-Crusted Filet Medallions sounded good on paper, but it was quite dry. My kid loved her ribs and fries from the kids' menu. They were meaty, tender, and full of flavor. Their desserts were a treat. The Smoked S'mores Mousse was decadent. The Banana & Bourbon Bread Pudding was dense, but was moist and flavorful. The restaurant itself had a masculine and rustic interior. There's a full bar, and I bet it's a popular spot to watch sports games. Service was attentive at the beginning, then waned as the meal progressed. Maybe it was because she was ending her shift and wanted to go home? After that, everything we needed, like boxes or paying the bill, was handled at the bar.

Busy BBQ spot, but the service and food were both fantastic! Our hotel event coordinator recommended this place, and he definitely didn't disappoint. Everything was delicious and the recommendation was spot-on. Definitely worth a visit!

We came in on a Saturday night and grabbed a couple seats at the bar. Service was fantastic. It was attentive and fast. They have TVs, but we're unable to put the Dodgers game on for us. Which was fine. The decor is beautiful. I would say average noise and pretty busy on a Saturday night. They do close at nine though so it doesn't get crazy like everything else in Solvang. The food was good. We really enjoyed the cornbread and the fried pickles. We also tried the burnt ends and the Caesar salad salad. Both were good, but nothing amazing. The cocktails were my least favorite part. It seems like they pre-batch their Old Fashioneds. They were able to give my husband tastings of them and they were all extremely sweet. So I went with a boulevardier instead, which was also too sweet. I probably stick with beer or wine next time.

Our favorite place in Solvang! The food and service were phenomenal. Keri was an amazing waitress, she was very friendly, attentive and helpful. The brisket and wings were really tender and amazing. Would definitely come back and recommend anyone to come here!

My friend and I wanted to grab a bite to eat after zip lining in Buellton, CA before heading back to Santa Barbara. We were really not in the mood for wine and thought this would be a perfect stop based on reviews. The restaurant was very nice with indoor and patio seating. It was a gorgeous day so we sat at the high top on the patio. Ashleigh introduced herself, very nice and attentive. I ordered and Espresso Martini and my friend ordered beer. We shared a Smoked Beef Brisket with a side of Fries and a Caesar Salad. The plate came out fast along with our drinks. We both thought the salad was OK. The fries were delicious. The Beef Brisket tasted really good and was tender, but unfortunately the 3 pieces that we were served were very fatty at $37. didn't cut it... Sorry. Would we try again, not sure, though drinks were good, maybe try the burger. Judge for yourself. Atmosphere: very nice laid back feel. Service: excellent. Food: fatty for the price not a good value.

This is one of the most recommended places if you ask the locals in the town, and that's always a good sign. It's on the corner of Copenhagen Street, and outdoor seating had a nice cozy vibe with heaters in the patio setting. We chose to sit inside as it was a little chilly in the evening. The staff was super helpful and very patient, as we struggled to finalize an order. They even changed my order after I put it in. The ribs were great, and their homemade bbq sauce hits the spot. We ordered the seasoned fries and Mac n cheese as sides, and they were amazing too. The fries did have a spicy kick to it, and Mac n cheese were fresh and creamy. The only nitpicking I'd do with the ribs is they were slightly dryer on the outside, but no complaints other than that.

The dirty fries
Nataly A.

This place is always a chill spot to come to and have a quick drink at the bar or even dinning on the patio. Service was great. The waiter was on point with our order. The old fashioned flight was tasty the peachy was surprisingly a favorite, the local whiskey flight Is always a go too, the bamble berry was surprisingly refreshing and light, the zero proof spicy watermelon was fresh and not spicy at all. The dirty fries are so tasty, a lot of flavor slight spicy but not enough to over power the flavor. Definitely a top suggestion if you're out in Solvang.

Wish I got her name but she was the super sweet blonde with the two braids in her hair. This place seemed to be the hottest ticket in town. It stayed busy ALL night and for good reason-the friendly service and the delicious food. Started with 3 of their super fresh west coast oysters. Loved the pink peppercorn mignonette it came with. Loved the crunch and flavors and the sweet oysters. The wedge salad was probs the best I've had-pork belly lardons, smoked blue cheese, spicy pecans and an herby vinaigrette. 3 mini heads of lettuce was perfect. Cornbread is a must-try. Crisp exterior and hot, soft, corn mealy goodness inside, perfect touch of sweetness from the wildflower honey and a bit of heat. The Brussels sprouts had so much umami from the fish sauce and crunch from the crispy rice and sesame seeds. Another must-order. I know we're in Santa Barbara and should be eating seafood but their Jidori Fried Chicken with the house pickled veggies and the duck leg confit were outstanding. Seriously not one bad dish tonight. Def bookmark this spot and make resy's early (nothing between 5pm and 8:30pm on a busy Friday night), and a super central location with lots of wine bars and breweries nearby.

Maybe instead of acting like everyone should automatically know every bar's rules, a little basic communication would help. Overall: cheap-looking, weirdly childish atmosphere, ridiculous 2000s music, and an unnecessarily rude door experience. Honestly... save your money…read more I dropped by this Jordanian restaurant /hookah lounge to chill for a bit, have a beer, and enjoy some hookah. It looked like a cool vibe from the outside, but the whole experience left me super disappointed. When I walked in, the place was empty--just the owner and two staff. No greeting, no welcome, just awkward silence while the owner stayed on the phone trying to fix what sounded like a billing issue. The staff didn't speak much English (which is fine), but there was no real effort to help or explain anything either. Eventually, I got a hookah and a beer--$48.50 for one hookah and one beer. Yeah... nearly $50. No food, no extras. That's wild. Then I was told I had to smoke outside on the back patio, which turned out to be a tiny little corner--maybe 6 by 10 feet--with uncomfortable chairs and a random wood bench. It took 15 minutes to even get the hookah (remember, no one else was there), and when it arrived, it was totally burnt. Overpacked, harsh hits, and I ended up having to scrape it and fix it myself just to get it to smoke right. Wanna know the kicker? You only get three coals. That's it. No refills unless you pay for more. No one checked on us for almost an hour, and when I finally asked for more coals, they said (in broken English and mostly Spanish) that that's all you get unless you pay extra. I've smoked hookah all over the place--three coals is nothing, especially when you're charging $35+. No one came around, no vibe, no music, no nothing. Just me, my burnt hookah, and a beer that wasn't even cold. I really tried to find something redeeming about this place, but nothing hit. The service wasn't there, the product wasn't good, and it honestly felt like I was bothering them just by being there. Bottom line: for $50, you can do way better just about anywhere else--or even at home. Hope they turn it around, but for now, I wouldn't recommend it.
