Loved this place, the vibe, energy, weather were all perfect. To include the sunset that just happened to be perfect timing with me and my date. The food was wonderful! The scallops were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. Paired nicely with the corn and potatoes. Personally, didn't think it needed the bits of bacon. The oysters... love! The grassy bar and Kumamoto oysters are the best in my opinion. I prefer smaller oyster compared to the larger meatier ones. The waiter knew his stuff and menu really well.

Pismo Beach and Oyster Loft was a great combination for my first time! We booked reservations in advance. The establishment offered a beautiful ocean view. Watching the sunset was fantastic. The charbroiled oysters, scallops, and roasted chicken were great choices.

This place is absolutely amazing. Sashimi app was so fresh and delicious. Matthew is one of, if not the it the best server I have ever had. Gave very Candid opinions and suggestions and was spot on every time. Kindly forced the pork chop special on me, and I was beyond blown away. Beautiful view and ambiance overlooking the water. If you want a wonderful meal and evening, go in, and for Matthew and let him choose everything for you.

The service was great! Our server, Michel, was very attentive and answered all of our menu questions. The ambiance was relaxing--we sat outside and had a beautiful view of the ocean. Our appetizers were amazing. My partner ordered raw oysters, and they were serving four different kinds. Michel did a great job explaining the origin and flavor profile of each one. I ordered the beef tataki, which melted in my mouth. The scallions paired perfectly with the beef, both in flavor and contrasting textures. For our entrées, we had the Roasted Sea Bass and Mussels and the Kurobuta Pork Chop. My partner devoured the sea bass and mussels. My pork chop, however, was more on the well-done side, so it ended up a bit dry. The bread pudding served with it was slightly salty, but it did pair well with the pork. The apple and black truffle sauce was delicious. For dessert, we received a complimentary scoop of caramel ice cream for my birthday. We also ordered bread pudding and the caramel basket. Our favorite was the bread pudding--the warm bread with the scoop of butterscotch ice cream was perfect. I would skip the caramel basket next time; it wasn't as satisfying as the bread pudding.

Food: 5* Ambiance: 5* Service: 5* Enjoyed an anniversary celebration dinner here. We ordered the seafood tower and a couple drinks. The seafood was ample, shrimp, langoustines, crab legs, small oysters, ahi tuna, and various sauces. Everything was chilled and cooked to perfection. The amount of seafood and was perfect for us. At $190 it is steep, but how many 27th anniversary's are you having? We sat outside and it was great. The heat lamps kept the cool at bay and the sound of the waves lulled us into a very satisfied fullness and contentment. Service was impeccable. Attentive, helpful, but not overly hovering. We would return and try the other fare.

We enjoyed a fantastic evening with beautifully plated delicious food and top notch cocktails. The ambience was just right, high end dining but not stuffy. We had an incredible waiter that added to our enjoyment of the evening. It was such a treat!

Ocean view at the outside seat above the beach was unforgettable! The panoramic vista of waves crashing against the shoreline created a serene backdrop for our dining experience. Fresh out of ocean taste of oysters, sashimi and scollops were the taste of the ocean. Each bite delivered the pure essence of the sea--briny, sweet, and delicately textured--reminding us of the pristine waters just steps away from our table. The staff are friendly and attentive as well. Their genuine warmth and knowledgeable recommendations enhanced our meal significantly. Great to take a walk around the beach after the meal to wrap up the memorable dinning experience!

First of all beautiful view of the ocean and the pier. Unparallel.. We started with some cocktails and some Fanny Bay Oysters! Delicious we ordered their beet salad it was very eclectic but sadly super small. The butterfish called (Sabel fish) was Devine! Miso glazed with rice savory soft buttery and delicious! A must try 5 stars for great food, excellent service and great atmosphere!

This is an upscale restaurant with a beautiful view of the ocean! We sat outside, which had the stunning view, but came with lots of noise from the people below - people who were enjoying the restaurant that sits below this one and those walking along the boardwalk. If you want a quieter experience, I suggest that you request a spot indoors. I came here with my boyfriend on a Saturday night to celebrate his birthday. Our server was attentive and checked on us multiple times throughout the evening. We opted to order a variety of small plates and shareables instead of entrées, and I think we made the right choice! We went with a dozen raw oysters from Morro Bay, a half dozen charbroiled oysters, the tuna tartar, the jalapeño poppers with tuna on top, and the Caesar salad. The only item I think I would skip is the tuna jalapeño poppers because it just didn't do it for us - you only get time on half the popper. Everything else was phenomenal and we would re-order in a heartbeat! We both ordered a cocktail and a beer/glass of champagne. The birthday celebration comes with a complimentary scoop of ice cream, but we also ordered the crème brûlée to share. That crème brûlée is definitely worth the purchase! It had Yuzu citrus and a strawberry compote on top and completely balanced everything out with the sweetness from the vanilla in the crème brûlée. 10 out of 10 would come back again!

This must be my lucky month because this is the third restaurant I've been to this month where everything we tried was absolutely delicious in a year where this hadn't happened yet. Lovely setting and the interior decor was really nicely done with plenty of cool deco nautical elements. Our server (Hailey? ) was wonderful- knowledgeable, helpful and honestly one of the best we've had all year. And all of the bus staff were just as amazing. This is a place that works really well together! Great menu options! The chef apparently is both French and Japanese trained and it results in a lovely menu with some pretty awesome food. Decent wine list with some creative drink options including a smoked old fashioned. We decided to sample many of the amazing starters. First off, there is an off menu Manhattan style fish chowder that is perhaps the best we've ever had...and I grew up with this and this is my preferred style. The fish was so fresh and generously portioned but the broth was out of this world! I think the French training had a lot to do with this perfect soup. Next time we are in the area, we are coming here just for that! We also tried the crudo sampler with 3 good sized portions each of salmon, hamachi, ahi and albacore. Loved it. The ahi sesame chips were so good! The wasabi Cole slaw put it over the top. It was appetizer sized but I could have just had two plates of these and called it a night! We shared the grassy bay oysters from Morro Bay but there were plenty of good east and west coast oyster options from the raw bar. I usually get Kumamoto oysters but we were encouraged to try the local Grassy Bay ones and they were wonderful! Another great find. We had the Charbroiled oysters also and my partner loved them so much. I really liked them too but I really was lukewarm on the melted cheese on them. So for me personally, I will just stick with the raw bar next time. We parked down the street easily and there is also a lot across the street. You are right off the pier which is a great venue as well. What a wonderful dinner in Pismo Beach!

Great location by the pier, this restaurant was on the second floor and had a really good view. They were not super busy when we walked in but were told that for a party of three the wait would be an hour and a half. They did offer the bar seating which you can also access the full menu. The bar stools were a bit uncomfortable but doable. Our server was pleasant. He went over and described the different types of fresh oysters choices. We went with the Kumamoto and Oishi oysters and they were fresh, smooth, and very good! The Octopus small plate was very well prepared! It was excellent!! Our entrees were delicious! Though the scallops dish was not as buttery and flavorful, it was still enjoyable. The grilled salmon entree was very good! Loved that crispy and salty salmon skin that added texture and flavor to the nicely cooked salmon. The pasta linguine was very flavorful and savory. Except for the uncomfortable bar stools seating, the whole dinner experience was excellent. Looking forward to visiting this restaurant again, next time with reservations!

Incredible dining experience! Our server, Matthew was wonderful and his suggestions were spot on. Staff was super friendly and accommodating as we brought our 7 month old with us. The oysters were delicious, sashimi was so fresh and yummy and our main courses were out of this world! The pork chop was so juicy and tender and scallops were perfect. Also, hard to beat the views.

    Where is the elevator located?

I believe its on the back. We took the stairs.

    Is this place kid friendly?

I saw a family of four. It's very quiet 5-6pm. But gets louder. No reason not to take kids but it's sort of loud as it gets later.

Do they still do happy hour for oysters?

My advise would simply be to call them. Because of changing times, seasonal tourist town environment, etc., things change all the time.

Is this restaurant currently open? Have not been able to reach anyone on the phone and online reservations appear to be full all through the end of this year (not sure if that is accurate). Thanks for any help.

Open Table almost never works for me, advising there's nothing available. I always call, and most tines there are available reservations. Same here. Nothing on Open Table, so called and left a message as nobody picked up (even though it was… Read more

Is there outdoor seating available or just take out?

    Outdoor seating is available.

Is oyster hour bar area only?

It was when I got there. They sell out of the special very quickly. The bar is open 1 hour before the restaurant. Bartender is a mixologist so I would recommend going and having a cocktail and oysters.

Stay far, far away from this place. What my family and…read morefriends witnessed at Hot Shots Billiards this past weekend was one of the most disturbing displays of behavior I've ever seen from someone working in a business open to the public. The manager completely lost control screaming, swearing, and behaving aggressively toward a grandfather and his two young grandchildren in front of everyone inside. We saw this with our own eyes. After the outburst, I spoke with the grandfather to understand what triggered this. He explained that the boys had been there the day before playing pool with family and friends and had returned for another visit. Their grandmother had brought them each a small bowl of soup because they didn't want the food offered there. Without any calm discussion or warning, the manager suddenly rushed over, yelling for them to "get their food out of here right this GD minute." Then, in a way that shocked everyone standing nearby, he snatched the soup from one of the kids and forcefully pulled a bag out of the child's hands as they were trying to leave. He continued shouting profanity including multiple F-bombs directly at the grandfather, all while the two young children stood there visibly upset. The entire place went silent. People looked stunned and uncomfortable. I've never seen anything like this in a place that's supposed to be family-friendly. In my opinion, the grandfather showed incredible restraint by not involving law enforcement. We had just walked in to play a few games with friends, but after witnessing that level of hostility and unprofessionalism, we turned around and left immediately. Outside, the grandfather told me the manager still refused to return one of their personal bags, which added to the concern. Later, when I mentioned the incident to a few nearby business owners and locals, several of them said they were unfortunately not surprised. They shared that they had heard of issues involving this manager in the past. I can't personally verify those claims, but hearing the same thing from multiple unrelated people definitely raises concerns. And sure enough, other online reviews describe behavior similar to what we witnessed firsthand. My strong recommendation: avoid this place entirely. No customer especially a child should ever be subjected to that kind of behavior from a manager. The grandfather later sent me a photo of the individual involved so that we could make our local friends in the Pismo area aware of who he was.
