We stopped by Blast & Brew for dinner with four people and our Goldendoodle, Bailey, and had an overall great experience. We were seated outside immediately, and the staff even rearranged tables to comfortably accommodate our group. Our server was friendly, checked on us frequently throughout the meal, happily brought to-go boxes when we were finished, and was very accommodating to both us and Bailey. She also brought Bailey a water bowl after we asked, which we appreciated. One thing that stood out was that we weren't initially offered waters for the table. It felt a little unusual that each of us had to ask individually before receiving water, especially since that's typically one of the first things brought to the table. My mom and aunt enjoyed using the self-pour beer wall, where you load a beer card and pay by the ounce, my brother ordered a soda, and I had a cocktail. It just seemed like a missed opportunity to make a better first impression. The food was definitely the highlight. We started with the giant Bavarian pretzel, which was a great appetizer for sharing. The only thing we would have changed was having a little more cheese sauce because the pretzel is so large. My brother and I split the Cowboy Mac & Cheese, and paired with the pretzel it ended up being the perfect amount of food for both of us. My mom enjoyed her burger and fries, and my aunt's birria tacos looked incredible with the consommé for dipping. Everything we ordered was flavorful, well prepared, and generously portioned. After dinner, we loved being able to take Bailey for a walk thanks to the nearby beach access, which made for a really nice way to end the evening. My only real disappointment was the patio layout. The ocean views are mostly reserved for the indoor dining room, while the main patio faces Highway 101. There are only a couple of outdoor tables with an ocean view, but they don't have umbrellas. Since it was a warm afternoon, we had to choose between sitting in the sun with a view or sitting in the shade without one, so we opted for comfort. It feels like adding a few umbrellas to those ocean-facing tables would make a huge difference and allow more guests to actually enjoy the coastal setting. Overall, we had a great meal with friendly service, good food, and a welcoming atmosphere for Bailey. With a few small improvements to the patio and a stronger first impression by offering waters to the table, this would easily be a 5-star experience. read more

What a great place! Mom and I were staying at the Seacrest hotel just below the restaurant. We decided to give it a try on our first night after we arrived and we weren't disappointed. This is definitely a sports bar and it's huge with TVs everywhere which was awesome because the World Cup was on and the place was packed. We lucked out and got a table next to the window which overlooked our hotel but also the ocean. Service was great and the food was delicious. Here's what we had... Giant soft pretzel - soft, salty and warm. Both the cheese sauce and the mustard were perfect pairings. Love this carbie goodness. Coconut shrimp - this was a little disappointing simply because neither one of us could taste the coconut. It was more like a fried shrimp, which was fine, but nothing memorable. Ahi tuna nachos - this was absolutely the star of the show and the one dish we kept talking about all weekend and would come back for in a heartbeat. The tuna was fresh and delicious. The smoky drizzle on top brought out all of the beautiful flavors piled up on top of crispy wonton chips. This is 100 out of 10 in our book and we will definitely be back to get this again and again. read more

We had the chicken Alfredo pasta and the kids' meal of chicken strips with fries, ordered for delivery to SeaCrest's poolside. The ordering itself took place in the app, and it was rather straightforward. We waited for about 10 minutes before I encountered the delivery staff just outside of the pool. I signed off on the delivery and enjoyed the meal poolside. My only gripe with the whole encounter was that there weren't any extra utensils for us, but I appreciate the ranch for the kid's meal. The food had decent portions and tasted great! It was a nice experience, enjoying the meal by the pool after a morning of swimming and enjoying Pismo Beach. read more

i had fish tacos for the first time here. the experience was life-changing. the fish tacos were amazing. you can tell by the taste that it is all very fresh. the tacos are very packed with everything from fish to veggies and seasonings and sauces, all so yummy! my boyfriend kail said that everything they put on the fish tacos is good. especially the sauces like it has very good chipotle aioli, pico de gallo, and lemons on the side!!! we also got the 5-piece chicken tenders. they were cooooked perfectly and were nice and crispy and tasty. the tenders are giant!!!!! the ranch was spectacular and they gave a lot of it!!! the taproom/house fries were also very good. they were warm and seasoned well. they're small and skinny which i like. they gave a lot of them too which was awesome :) we did a pick-up order but the ambiance on the deck and the inside of the restaraunt was decorated very cutely and with a cohesive black and red aesthetic. it was a nice social setting. there was a bar, billiards, and it seemed like there was a large downstairs area. we ordered online through the website and the food was ready exactly when it said it would be (exactly 20 minutes). getting the food inside the restaraunt was quick and easy. the employees were incredibly helpful in helping us get our food. we noticed they placed our food in insulated containers while they waited for us to arrive. it was very nice. definitely come here if you're hungry or looking for a fun spot in pismo! read more

We come here often when we're in Pismo. It's usually easy to get a table, even on a weekend. I got the Asian chicken salad and a watermelon martini, husband got steak frites and everything came out good. We always been a good experience here! I do wish they had a seltzer on their tap wall. Parking is mixed with the Sea Crest hotel, so in a busy weekend parking can be difficult. But weeknights are usually fine! read more

Kate was a real pro. We rolled in with our family and the kiddos made quite a mess. She handled it all with a smile and the food was really solid for the price. It was taco Tuesday! I snagged 5 tacos at $3 a pop and really enjoyed the pollo asada with fresh salsa on the side. We also made a friend at the next table over who split his bread pudding with us, and it was dynamite! We really like the decor with the exposed beams and large windows looking out to the Pacific Ocean. For being in a tourist area I didn't feel like the prices were too out of control. Service was pretty mid. We had a rough time at the start. There was about a 30 minute wait before our waitress came back to put in our order. Felt neglected. We even saw our waitress go to other tables multiple times before checking in on us. Once we ordered our food the food came out quick and was not bad. The fish tacos had a good flavor and the fish was very fresh. The blast wrap was okay. It had a lot of lettuce and was a bit dry. The ranch helped. Had great bbq sauce and the tri tip was good too but there was not much in there. Would I order it again, probably not. However, great portion sizes all around. Kind of expensive but makes sense for the area (~$20 a meal). The ambiance was great. We had a nice ocean view. Lots of TVs available to watch baseball or other sporting games. read more

Let's start with Sarah-the server that made our night (and got us to come back the next!) We were staying next door and had a long drive in so we wanted something easy and close. My husband had shrimp fettuccine and it was delicious! My Mexican chicken salad was great as well. We had yummy cocktails too, and a wonderful time with Sarah. She was warm and friendly and super good at her job. Really fun, so fun we asked when she worked over the days we were in town and she told us to come back the next night for Taco Tuesday. We went in and made sure to sit in her section again :) Tacos were good and so were the chips; salsa was a little bit plain for me but my husband loved it. Just stopped at Blast Brew for a quick nice lunch as we were passing through town. Ran to the woman's restroom and only one stall was workable. And over all bathroom looked as if it hadn't been serviced in a while. Ordered lunch and drinks, the ice tea was the worst. My husbands beer mug was cracked along the rim. We laughed and thought the rest would be ok. Lunch came. My chicken veggie bowl was covered in butter (I asked no butter) and two of the broccoli pieces were completely rotten. We have tried to lunch at Blast Brew a couple other times and really we are giving up on them, mediocre food isn't worth it. read more

It's amazing what new management can do for a restaurant. Since my initial review, things have change and all for the better. The crew is fun, the menu constantly evolving and the desserts...heavenly! My favorite menu item is the Chili Verde Bowl. Now, somebody's mom gave up this recipe because it is soooooo good and authentic. At first it was a seasonal item, but it was so popular they put it on the menu to stay. Well deserved too!!! The building sits atop the parking lot for The Seacrest Hotel. There are tables inside and outside, an open front of the building faces the streetcar you can watch the cars go by and multiple TVs give you the sports fix. So happy to say they've really turned around this location and it's now one of the best places in town to sip a beverage, eat great food and watch baseball. Enjoy!! read more

We were actually recommended this place from our hotel so we decided to try it. Between 2 adults and a child we ordered the nachos, fish and chips, ceasar salad, and kids mac n cheese. The staff was nice but they forgot that we wanted the refried beans on the side. The fish and chips were ok, as well as the kids mac n cheese. The Nachos were probably the best thing - and probably could have fed a family of 5. We had some to bring home and eat by the pool at least. The ceasar salad.. was blah. I actually had to throw it away. I think we were underwhelmed overall unfortunately. Looks like they have a DIY beer pour wall.. Super fun place to go with a big group as they have variety on their menu. They have pizza, wings, appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and more. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo and it was better than I expected. The atmosphere of this restaurant is fun, there are sports games displayed on the TVs. The service was good, we felt like they were really trying to upsell because they asked if we wanted more drinks multiple times. They only have Pepsi products, but their other drinks are good. I will begin with the most positive. The place is a fun looking typical bar/ pub. Lots of tables low, high and bar area. Lots of TV. Mounted on walls. Lots of staff walking around some with smiles. This was our first visit on Wednesday, July 1. My husband had researched the area for a place to watch the USA World Cup match. He chose this place of all the places we could have gone. We walked in early to get seats. I told the hostess we intended to eat, get drinks, and stay awhile to watch the game. She was friendly. The disappointment came from the food and the waitress we ended up with. She was not the least bit friendly. Not rude but definitely not at all friendly I don't know her name she had no name tag on nor did she introduce herself. It became a game of "is she capable of smiling". The answer is yes, just not towards us. Or really any other patrons. Just to one male co worker, once, that I noticed during the duration of our visit. Maybe she was having a bad day. Being greeted with a smile is overrated anyhow. We ordered a pretzel it was a nice big size but cheese was lukewarm and got colder as we ate it. Chili cheese fries-chili was spicy and runny, all served separate with fries in a plate, chili in a bowl, grated cheese, sour cream and green onions all served individually. So nothing was melted or mixed together. I guess we were supposed to dump it all together ourselves. A pizza it was ok. We had no plates to eat our food on. I had espresso martini. It was not good in my opinion. I told her and got no response so the next time she came back I ordered a shot of Baileys to see if adding that would help. It didn't. So the full drink sat there for 3 hours before a different waitress walked by and asked if we were done with it. Our waitress never asked if I wanted to order a different drink she never refilled our waters. It was also a missed opportunity on the restaurants part to have maybe sold some patriotic colored drinks/shots maybe employees be a bit festive in some way with head bands/hats or something fun. It was a dud just like our waitress. We visit Pismo often and stay in nearby hotels but unfortunately we will not be coming back to this place. I can see why they do not have very high ratings. This time, it wasn't Sarah or Serah lighting up our table--it was Tre, and let me tell you, he brought the heat. Attentive, funny, and made our third round feel like the first time (cue romantic taco music). We came ready for Taco Tuesday like champs. Carnitas, tri-tip, and chicken? Yes, we ordered all three, because moderation is for Wednesdays. Flavor-packed, bigger than expected, and frankly, taco perfection. We wrapped it up with a Cosmo--because nothing says "responsible adulting" like cocktails before 4 PM. Don't worry, this was just our halftime show.
