    Clam Chowder

This place is amazing! The service was extremely fast, friendly, and they were all super efficient. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, plus bar top seating. The best part? No matter where you are at, the view is absolutely breathtaking. We opted in for the surf and turf for two and the clam chowder. The chowder was to die for and the dinner plates were delicious as well. This was a dinner we will remember, that is for sure.

Sweet views of the sunset sitting on the patio. Killer service. Elevated and fun takes of classic American food. The whole menu looked great. I had the vol au vent because the baked puff pastry with lobster and shrimp sounded unique. The sauce was great. It didn't even need the potato's which took away from the pastry. The lobster and shrimp were well cooked. My friend enjoyed the pan seared filet mignon which was cooked perfectly. We wish both dishes had more sauce because they both were so enjoyable. Lava cake was fresh, hot, gooey I should've ordered 10. Can't wait to visit again!

This place was great starting with the view. The staff were great as well. Super attentive. As for the food, the calamari appetizer tasted fresh and not rubbery. The vol au vent with the puff pastry was excellent. The gravy on it made the dish and wasn't too rich. The halibut with shrimp and lobster risotto was very good but rich. All of their drinks were made to perfection. All in all, this place was great!

Went to the Sea Venture for dinner and drinks. It was on point, as always. We started out with a couple cocktails, which Craig made fantastically. Then moved on to the bar menu and tried the Steak Nachos. Steve smothered those in cheese and the filet on the top was so melt in your mouth wonderful. After that we had the Sliders, which hubby just loves, and the calamari. I enjoyed that they fried a few jalapeño chips in there, although it required a beer to cook down my mouth. Overall, the Sea Venture is wonderful with great food, drinks and impeccable views

We LOVE dining here. There's a plethora of gluten free options. Clam chowder without croutons is delicious. Sesame lettuce wraps minus wontons. Pismettes , coconut shrimp tacos, beef tips, Mexican shrimp cocktail, the wedge salad, ahi salad without wontons, they have a lot of other options howevthose are my favorites. They have a clearly labeled menu with all GF or GFO which is amazing.

Such a wonderful experience! It was our first time and no regrets for choosing this place to celebrate a special day. The ambiance was calm and understated, the food delivered rich, beach inspired flavors, and the service was exceptional. Special thanks to Jim for taking such great care of us!

Omg so good!!! Food was absolutely incredible, so tasty and quick to come out. While service was a little bit slow with our server, we understood as she seemed super busy. Our drinks were fantastic- i definitely need to go back for another key lime martini! You don't need to stay at the hotel to dine but I would definitely make a reservation at the restaurant just to be safe! The views are amazing- definitely ask to sit outside. They have heaters so you'll be okay. This is definitely getting added to my go to places in pismo! Food and drinks were 10/10

My favorite breakfast spot in Pismo. View is beautiful. Service took a while but our waiter was attentive on checking on us regularly and brining more water.

    View from outdoor patio.

Stopped in for a quick drink at the Sea Venture Restaurant bar. Guys! Hidden gem in Pismo. Bartender Stephanie was absolutely amazing. She knew the menu inside outside and had recommendations. Made me a killer Mango Tango, blended. I decided to try the Ceviche Tostadas. Chef Eddie ... these are da bomb! The ceviche was delicious and tasty. For me personally, I like spicier foods so I added some Scirachia. Great service. Clean. Small outdoor patio over looking the beach. I will be back for dinner soon. Stay tuned.

I was super excited to try this place since the reviews were so good. I will say the staff was overall great. Very attentive and gave us the heater when we had asked since we had patio seating around 7pm. However the wait for the food was longer than expected and our food was okay. I had brought my family here for my dad's birthday for a light dinner in mind. We had ordered the steak nachos, 2 calamari's, salad, shrimp linguine, 2 clam chowders and the salmon. The clam chowder, salad & calamari was really delicious. The steak nachos and salmon were good. However the lobster and shrimp linguine was disappointing. The pasta was super chewy & the lobster was nowhere close to the pictures we had seen.

We have a 2nd home in the Pismo area and have heard about the restaurant here at SV but had never tried it until last week. We were really happy with our overall experience here. The restaurant is on the third floor of the hotel so the view of the waterfront is great from up there! We decided to try the surf and turf for two for $99 and it was really good. Although you split the lobster tail, each person gets their own fillet cooked to order. The beet salad was amazing! Their wine list features mostly local wines, and they're all very reasonably priced even for a bottle. We ordered a local bottle of Chardonnay for $40! What I really want to rave about though is the service. Our server, Zackery was so personable & knowledgeable! He is from the area and had lots of other great suggestions for us. He went above and beyond to make all of his customers feel special, including us. Thank you, Zackery for making our experience amazing! We will be back!

We wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary with an extra treat in service and food. This place truly delivered. We arrived a few minutes early and our table was ready. It been a year or so since we were here, yet Simon Kovesdi (Food and Beverage Director) remembered us. Haven't even sat down and already feeling special. Service, ambiance and outstanding, food delicious. Thank you for the Anniversary Dessert!

These were amazing filet mignon steak bites!

Noticed when checking in the biz cards for vista, ada fish house, rosa. I knew ada from long ago had opened rosa next to them, but did not realize vista was as well! No wonder I chose Vista for the fancy dinner, wanted to try the sand dabs that looked good on the menu and photos. But we actually had 2 sand dabs at Ada's for lunch and it was good to realize I didn't need to eat sand dabs here to see if better, lol!!! Knowing the ada/rosa/vista link, I made sure to try a pasta here, since didn't get to try Rosa's yet, so it was perfect to get a taste of their pasta here! Basically a higher priced Ada's and Rosa's, but I think it's worth it with the fine dining experience and service and the window side table to watch the sunset (reserved ~30 min before day's sunset). Plus the steak here was excellent as well. Did a tasting at Halter Ranch, so it was a pleasure to find their cab here. Brussels Sprouts appetizer was well prepared with playful mix of flavors that made it extra enjoyable. Calamari was incredible, maybe the best I've had. The sauces, oh man... It was my boy's first calamari experience and he was addicted and looking for calamari at every restaurant after this place. It was fantastic Shrimp n crab pasta. Wow that pappardelle was excellent pasta. Was expecting the typical thick dense pasta, but this was thin and delicately delicious papperdelle, very special. I assume Rosa's will be a great place for Italian based on this here! Went for the ribeye medium rare. It came out looking perfectly grilled! And perfectly medium rare. So delicious and flavorful, why does my ribeyes in my backyard ever turn out like this!?!?! I need to find the secrets to the great restaurant steaks some how... :( Even enjoyed the rice, I think same as what we had during lunch with the sand dabs, delicious rice... Overall, a perfect special occasion restaurant for the area I think. Pricey dinner, but the food and views and experience was memorable.

I go to steakhouses almost every time I travel, it's kind of my thing, so I know what a solid experience should look like. We started with the coconut shrimp special, and unfortunately it was undercooked. The shrimp were large and butterflied, but some pieces weren't fully pink inside and still had raw batter, which was a big miss. I also ordered a virgin piña colada with strawberry purée, expecting a blended drink, but it came out over ice and tasted more like a watered-down juice. I don't drink alcohol, so I was really looking forward to something refreshing, and it would've been nice if the server mentioned they don't offer blended drinks. The steak itself was actually not bad--tender, nicely seared, and the sauce on it was really good. That was definitely the highlight. But the sides didn't hold up. The potatoes tasted like they came straight out of a box, and the vegetables were under-seasoned and overcooked. For a place that markets itself as a steakhouse, it just didn't deliver.

Octopus Appetizer (4.5/5) Large octopus tentacles served with a combination of vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, roasted peppers) toasted with garlic and olive oil. The vegetables and octopus were all cooked very well. The octopus was fresh and melts in your mouth. 2. Grilled Asparagus (2.5/5) Large asparagus that's seasoned lightly, but it was not cooked correctly. It had a very stringy-fibery texture. 3. Philly cheesesteak (2/5) The hoagie bread was grocery store quality at best. We were sad that it wasn't even toasted or warmed up, so ended up ditching the bread/bun and just ate the inside. The cheese was at least nicely melted. The onion and bell peppers were fresh, but the steak was "meh." Definitely not quality beef. The beef itself was also not seasoned enough, so was bland and dry. 4. Onion rings (5/5) Fried to perfection. Loved that the onions were fresh and it was easy to pull apart with each bite. The aioli sauce that its served with is plain and bland though. 5. Crab cake (4/5): Crabby patty anyone? All I tasted was fried Panko batter. Wish the patty itself had more flavor and spice. The garlic aioli sauce that came with it though was good. 6. Dr. Marquis Salad (4/5): Fresh spring mix lettuce topped with ground beef and crispy bacon, tomato, sliced avocado and tossed with their house-made olive oil, salt and pepper dressing. Overall, it was a hearty salad with plentiful flavor. It was just a bit weird to have ground beef in salad, but I guess that's what makes this salad dish unique

I asked a question about the menu because the happy hour menu I had and had selected a drink off, differed from the other three that my husband and our friends had. The waiter flatly stated that my menu was wrong and the drink I wanted to order was not available and suggested a different drink that was nothing like the one I wanted to order. There was no apology and he didn't even take the incorrect menu, it was as if he didn't care. We placed an order for two appetizers and four drinks, three of which were the same cocktail off the happy hour menu. At the same time, we inquired about a more extensive dinner menu and the waiter stated they didn't serv dinner until 5pm but it was already 4:45pm and so we requested dinner menus. The waiter asked us how many menus we wanted, which seemed strange as none of us have ever eaten at a restaurant where each individual person wasn't provided their own menu and so we had to state we wanted four menus. When the four menus arrived, one for each person, one of the three was incorrect just like the happy hour one, showing cocktails that were no longer available. The drinks and appetizers eventually came, they took at least 15 minutes with the food arriving before any of the drinks. While the food was okay, the three cocktails were pretty awful, mine being the worst of the three. They were all the same drink made with grapefruit but my personal drink was far more bitter than the other two, it wasn't palatable at all. The other two who ordered the same drink, my husband and friend drank the drinks since we were paying for them. At this point, the experience was so bad between the waiter who seemed to have no desire to serve people and the terrible cocktails that we decided we should cut our loses and leave to eat dinner elsewhere. We left one full cocktail, and two partial cocktails on the table. The bill was paid and as my husband and I brought up the rear of our group. As we were leaving the waiter remarked that he, "hoped we have a better day." This was rude, unprofessional and confirmed leaving Lido was the right choice. This was a terrible experience both with the waiter and cocktails. A place could have the most amazing food but if the customer service is lacking, the quality of food is irrelevant. I would rather have mediocre food and friendly, welcoming and engaging customer service.

Everyone raved about the food and asked where it was from. They literally went out of their way to make it perfect! I'm local and will be coming back and telling friends! Thank you!
