We came to SeaVenture Restaurant to celebrate a Cal Poly graduate, and it couldn't have been a more perfect place for such a special occasion. The location is absolutely stunning, right along the beach with spectacular ocean views. We were lucky enough to catch the sunset during dinner, which made the entire experience even more memorable. Our server was amazing! I wish I could remember his name because he truly made our night. He had such a great personality, was friendly, attentive, answered all of our questions, and made us feel completely comfortable from start to finish. His drink recommendations were spot on, too! The food came out hot, and every dish at the table was delicious. The standout was definitely the fried chicken. The crispy coating was unreal--perfectly crunchy on the outside while staying juicy and flavorful on the inside. It was easily the star of the meal. Between the incredible service, beautiful beachfront setting, gorgeous sunset, and delicious food, this was the perfect place to celebrate such a big milestone. We went to SeaVenture Restaurant to celebrate our niece's graduation from Cal Poly, and we had a lovely experience. I use Yelp regularly when deciding where to eat and what dishes I'd like to try, so I was surprised to see that many of the photos listed for SeaVenture were quite old (some 8-12 years old). I'm happy to share some more recent photos of the menu items we enjoyed. We were seated in a large room that looked like it was designed for bigger parties and gatherings. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Our waiter, Chris, went above and beyond by turning on both big-screen TVs: one showing the World Cup and the other showing the Spurs and Knicks basketball game, which definitely made the guys in our party happy! Everyone enjoyed their food, the SeaVenture dish didn't come out to the table hot, the sauce was warm. The restaurant has a beautiful ocean view; unfortunately, the weather was overcast the weekend we visited, so we didn't get the full experience of the view. You go to a place like SeaVenture Beach Hotel in Pismo Beach with a certain level of trust. It's the kind of spot that usually delivers. Ocean out front, solid food, no real surprises. You walk in expecting a good time and most of the time, that's exactly what you get. Which is why this one stings a little. Mother's Day brunch. Prix fixe. Three courses. The kind of setup that should feel special but sometimes ends up feeling like a well-dressed assembly line. We went all in. Party of four, one of everything to start. The heirloom tomato and mozzarella bruschetta was fine. Fresh enough, pleasant enough. But it didn't feel like a celebration. It felt like something you've had before, somewhere else, done the same way. Safe. The ceviche tostadas were the high point early on. Bright, clean, refreshing. Exactly what you expect sitting on the Central Coast with the ocean a few steps away. No complaints there. The Cali deviled eggs were smooth, almost too easy to eat. Avocado mousse, a little jalapeño kick. Thoughtful, balanced. A small win. Then the fried pork belly tacos show up, and on paper, this is the one. This is the dish you circle before you even get there. But the promise doesn't quite land. The pickled onions, carrots, cabbage, all the things that are supposed to cut through that richness, barely show up. You're left wanting more contrast, more intention. Then the mains. My mom gets the shrimp and lobster risotto and suddenly things feel right again. Rich, comforting, the kind of dish that keeps you going back for another bite even when you're full. She loved it, and that matters. My dad goes with the stuffed baked eggplant and is completely happy. No notes, no complaints. Just quietly enjoying his plate, which honestly says a lot. I order the seared salmon, trying to be responsible, maybe even a little healthy. And it shows. Too much. It's clean, sure. But it's also forgettable. Somewhere along the way, someone decided that healthy means dialing everything back. It doesn't have to. It shouldn't. My fiancée gets the braised short rib, and this is where the kitchen reminds you what it can do. Tender meat, crispy potato, creamy polenta. Thought-out, satisfying, the kind of plate that feels finished. Dessert rolls in, and by now you're hoping for a strong close. Chocolate avocado mousse. Interesting idea, lands somewhere in the middle. Then, a huge slice of strawberry cheesecake that does exactly what it's supposed to do. Sweet, familiar, comforting. No risks, no regrets. And that's kind of the story of the whole meal. Nothing terrible. Plenty that's enjoyable. But for a place you trust, on a day that's supposed to feel a little more special, it never quite gets there. You leave full. You leave fine. Hard to find any issue at SeaVenture Restaurant. Celebrating my wife's birthday, we requested a window table and got it. Ordered a lovely bottle of local Paso Robles wine (Dusi, and we're able to bring the left over home). Dined on a split Caesar salad, the surf & turf entree (with mashers, grilled asparagus, a side of sauteed mushrooms), everything prepared to perfection. Service was light, friendly and just right. In the central area of California lies the perfect stay away vacation. You can get away for a few days by driving on the reliable 101 freeway and stay in the three small towns of Pismo Beach, Avila Beach, and Aroyyo Grande. No airport to hassle with mostly friendly people from all walks of life. This review is all in on the splendid Sea Adventure Hotel in Pismo Beach.In the heart of Pismo you park in an expansive free parking lot. A quick jaunt across the beach town street and into the Sea Adventure hotel. Up the elevator to the third floor you see the outdoor sitting to the left with many tables in the middle for the pleasure of looking off the wonderful sight of liquid gold. My lady and I were greeted by the very pleasant server named Jordan. He turned out to be a very helpful young man with a lot of information about this community. Mostly where to eat and what to do. My Lady and I started out with the hearty New England soup thick and superbly flavoured with the combination of sweet and a touch spicy. My lady had 3 beef sliders and two coconut tacos that were delicious . I had to try the large portion serving of a well marbled Prime ribeye so tender to the appreciative taste buds. A large baked potatoe with the works seemed appropriate and well worth the addition. Started out with a French 75 a smooth effervescent cocktail. My lady had a mock strawberry drink that was much to her liking. We decided to just have a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream with a ladled raspberry jam added. Oh for just fun. After a brief stroll on the beach we took a quick drive back to our hotel. The entire area is a three pointed triangle with plenty of room to travel all three during a brief visit. Let's start with the positives, the views are great and It was nice to have dinner at sunset. The bread and butter was delicious and so was the loaded baked potato. However the meat skewers appetizer were terrible and we didn't even finish them, between the flavor and texture not even the sauces could make them better. The steak was terrible. The flavor and texture were just so bad I had to ask for steak sauce to try and make it palatable. It helped but not much. Plus there was a lot of sneaky hard gristle on it. If the food was better I'd recommend this place for the views or maybe order something other than what we did. read more

This place is amazing! The service was extremely fast, friendly, and they were all super efficient. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, plus bar top seating. The best part? No matter where you are at, the view is absolutely breathtaking. We opted in for the surf and turf for two and the clam chowder. First time at this restaurant. It's hidden above the hotel, or in the hotel? Super fancy. I wasn't a fan of parking, they didn't seem to have a lot of spaces, or maybe I didn't see that they had more. I'm not sure. I ended up parking on the street. The restaurant has outdoor seating, a bar, and an amazing view. Unfortunately it was a foggy evening. My boyfriend's uncle is a regular there and knows the waiter so we had excellent service. The price is high but the food looked good. Small portions, but it is a fancy restaurant so that's expected. If you're a bougie seafood loving person, then this is the place to go. read more

One of the worst meals I've ever had. We ordered the "Surf and Turf for 2". The lobster was 3 oz, the same size as the one's on special for $5 at Vons. The filet mignon was the size of a hockey puck but thinner. I ordered medium with pink but the filet was well done. The sauce on top of it tasted like it came straight from a "Banquet TV Dinner"! I had the vol au vent because the baked puff pastry with lobster and shrimp sounded unique. The sauce was great. It didn't even need the potato's which took away from the pastry. The lobster and shrimp were well cooked. My friend enjoyed the pan seared filet mignon which was cooked perfectly. We wish both dishes had more sauce because they both were so enjoyable. I hardly ever leave a review, but I had to this was so bad. My wife and had dinner there yesterday 7/29/26, it was the second time in the last 2 weeks. Our friend wanted to take us to a nice dinner so we suggested this restaurant because the first time the food was decent but a little overpriced but you are getting a great view. This time the food was horrible, again the view is great! I ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell, they came and they looked like the size of clams in a oyster shell. The rest of the dinner was just as bad, I felt horrible for suggesting this place to our friend. I don't know if it was a different chef or what but this place is way over priced and the food is either horrible or just ok. They have a captive group of people staying at their hotel that probably have a meal there and are one and done. Certainly can't have a high return customer rate. There are a lot of great restaurants in Pismo beach and you should choose one of those over this bad restaurant. And as an added bonus they charge $58 for those horrible oysters. I owned two restaurants years ago, this chef would not have lasted long in my restaurant. Unfortunately it's the same old story that happens a lot when restaurants have a great view or ambience and rely on that and the food is secondary. Don't eat here, go elsewhere. read more

The view is gorgeous, our server was beyond amazing, dinner was great. We made the evening even more challenging for our server by having late-arriving family members join us at a nearby table. He was so lovely, accommodating and kind. We have a lot of fragile elderly in our group and he was so warm and awesome with them. Our drinks were fantastic- i definitely need to go back for another key lime martini! We LOVE dining here. There's a plethora of gluten free options. Clam chowder without croutons is delicious. Sesame lettuce wraps minus wontons. Pismettes , coconut shrimp tacos, beef tips, Mexican shrimp cocktail, the wedge salad, ahi salad without wontons, they have a lot of other options howevthose are my favorites. Went to the Sea Venture for dinner and drinks. It was on point, as always. We started out with a couple cocktails, which Craig made fantastically. Then moved on to the bar menu and tried the Steak Nachos. Steve smothered those in cheese and the filet on the top was so melt in your mouth wonderful. After that we had the Sliders, which hubby just loves, and the calamari. I enjoyed that they fried a few jalapeño chips in there, although it required a beer to cook down my mouth. Very attentive and gave us the heater when we had asked since we had patio seating around 7pm. However the wait for the food was longer than expected and our food was okay. I had brought my family here for my dad's birthday for a light dinner in mind. We had ordered the steak nachos, 2 calamari's, salad, shrimp linguine, 2 clam chowders and the salmon. The clam chowder, salad & calamari was really delicious. The steak nachos and salmon were good. However the lobster and shrimp linguine was disappointing. Doing a stroll through Pismo Beach and asking some of the locals what good places to eat in Pismo Beach, sea venture was mentioned numerous times as an amazing place to eat! For sure, I was not let down ! The filet mignon bites were off the page! Small end of a filet mignon sautéed with a light spicy brown mustard that gives you a slap of goodness on your tongue . The chicken, super juicy plump and a crispy outer skin. That biscuit in the picture oh man, oh man! Like Grandma used to make. Amazing service and super attentive to the table. We have a 2nd home in the Pismo area and have heard about the restaurant here at SV but had never tried it until last week. We were really happy with our overall experience here. The restaurant is on the third floor of the hotel so the view of the waterfront is great from up there! We decided to try the surf and turf for two for $99 and it was really good. Although you split the lobster tail, each person gets their own fillet cooked to order. The beet salad was amazing! Their wine list features mostly local wines, and they're all very reasonably priced even for a bottle.We ordered a local bottle of Chardonnay for $40! What I really want to rave about though is the service. Our server, Zackery was so personable & knowledgeable! He is from the area and had lots of other great suggestions for us. We had a little surprise party for an elderly friend who is moving. Our waitress Stephanie was fantastic in every way from friendly, professional, and knowledgeable to kind and helpful and cheerful. No problem with separate checks either. Too bad the ownership/management does not do something about the worn out, dreary ambiance. The place badly needs to be upgraded. Server was extremely helpful and nice. My only issue for the 3 stars is due to not having any options as a vegan. I ended up having this dish called "vegan hash" which was a bowl of vegetables. I feel in this day and age, we should be able to cater to multiple people's dietary restrictions such as "plant based" and "gluten free". I just hope there's more vegan options available at more places in the future read more

Celebrated my brother and his lovely wife's 45th Anniversary and had a wonderful evening. We all ordered the Surf & Turf for two and it did not disappoint! Each of us had a filet mignon and lobster tail with sides. My beautiful wife and my brothers wife started with cocktails that they said were delicious and we then preceded to have a great dinner that ended with 2 desserts that we all shared. The service by Chris was top tier as was everyone who attended to our needs. We sat inside right next to the window and had an excellent view of the sand, water and sunset. Just the perfect evening.
