The food was delicious, we stopped here because we had a large RV and another truck with a large trailer. There was plenty of parking on the street on a Sunday afternoon so that was easy. The young lady at the register was extremely sweet and welcoming. Service was fast and tasted very fresh. If you're looking to skip the hassle of going into the pier, try this spot. The clam chowder is waaaaay better than Splash. read more

We stopped by Pier 101 for an early dinner while visiting Grover Beach, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. My wife and I both ordered their halibut taco special with fries and an 805 beer. We were amazed at how generous the portions were! Each taco was loaded with fresh, flaky halibut--not just a few small pieces like you get at many places. Everything tasted fresh, hot, and delicious. Our waitress was also wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and took the time to answer our questions and make sure we had a great dining experience without ever making us feel rushed. The combination of excellent food, generous portions, cold beer, and outstanding service made this a memorable meal. We will definitely return the next time we're in the Grover Beach/Pismo Beach area. Highly recommended! Five Stars! read more

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on a trip to San Luis Obispo. We came for lunch around 1 pm on a Thursday. The place was quiet so there was no wait to order at the counter. The hostess was super friendly. Ambiance is no-frills, and there is no seating inside, only outdoor. In addition to the listed things on the menu, they also had some daily specials, one of which I ordered. The food didn't take long to come out. My husband got the shrimp and chips, which he enjoyed a lot. My lobster tacos were great, fresh and full of flavor and with a generous serving of lobster. They were served with a side salad. I'd definitely recommend getting these if you see them on the menu. Would highly recommend trying this place if you're after seafood in San Luis Obispo county. read more

I'm so glad I found this place! We were looking for a place to get oysters and were so happy to have found this hidden gem!! It's a really tiny, to-go type restaurant. You order in the front and you take whatever seat you can find. There's also outdoor seating as well, but it does get a little chilly! This is our second visit, and we never had issues with the service. They're very friendly and they help clear the table if it's not that busy. The oysters are really tasty. We usually order 36(?) between the two of us and we finish it every time! The shrimp ceviche is also really tasty, and probably the best in this general area. We ended up ordering the carne tacos this time and it was surprisingly really flavorful!! I took one look at it and I thought it would be really bland, but it was nicely seasoned and the meat was moist and soft. Can't wait to come back! read more

It is a pretty small place where you walk up and order and then bring it to you. There are about fuve tables inside and a bunch of outdoor seating. We had the grilled fish tacos with a cup of clam chowder and the octopus cocktail. They all were quite good and big enough! The fries were not great. It is run by a family and the lady at the counter was very nice and attentive. read more

Wow. What a cool hole-in-the-wall gem. The service was friendly and quick. Clam chowder was seasoned well, creamy and full of flavor. Well done. Both halibut fish tacos and Cabo tacos were great. I feel like the sauce masked some of the natural flavors of the delicious fish, but the rest of the fresh topping worked well lighten the taco up. Go here, if you're in the area. read more

I've ate here over a dozen times since they've opened. Every single time I've had great service and even better food. I genuinely think they have the best sea food in town. At the very least you have to try the shrimp empanadas and the chipotle seafood pasta. But everything here is great! read more

Highly recommend this place! It may look small, but it has more seating than you'd expect. The restaurant was clean, the food was delicious, and the customer service was excellent. I'll definitely be returning! read more

Great local seafood spot! The oysters were super fresh and the octopus cocktail had amazing flavor. The tacos were delicious (especially the lobster one) . Everything tasted fresh and well made. I was surprised with their seafood clams chowder, not too salty but the flavor is pretty unique (in my opinion they are tasted better than the one in Pismo, iykyk). Friendly staffs also. Definitely recommend! read more

Stopped by because we wanted to try a lesser known spot than the usual spots by the beach. We were greeted with a friendly smile and given a menu to browse. They also have daily specials. I ordered a three piece fish & chips while my eye ordered the shrimp & chips. The fish was cooked perfectly. The prawns were a good quality and size. The fries were very lightly seasoned. Maybe ask for some more seasoning if that's your thing. They have a few alcohol choices and a self serve soda machine. We sat outside under the umbrellas and enjoyed the fresh breeze coming off the Pacific. I would definitely like to come back and try a different item next time. Keep up the good work. read more

Great seafood addition to town! Has outdoor casual seating and indoor limited seating. Staff were super friendly and service was fast after ordering. We stopped here for a late lunch and it was very good! Friendly staff in this quaint small seafood restaurant. Outdoor seating for pets! I had the clam chowder it was decent. Not the best but a solid chowder. My husband had the halibut tacos which he rated a 10. We also had garlic fries very good! Not a big place for alcohol drinks. They did have some beer and not great wine options. I would suggest they get more options for the wine for sure or offer seltzers or cider. Only reason Im giving a 4 I was so hoping they would have better wine after our drive. The servers are awesome and very friendly . read more

Found this spot on Yelp while out with my family in Pismo. We hadn't been to Pismo in a long time (we used to live here) and were surprised how busy and congested the streets were. We aren't big on heavy traffic or touristy crowded restaurants, especially since the food typically ends up being mediocre. We did consider Splash Cafe but it was set to close soon. I told my family to head to Grover Beach instead...to this place. They drove while I took their order and I placed it online for pick up. It was 838 when we arrived. The family working was warm and welcoming and the food was GREAT. We ordered fish and chips (with garlic parm fries), shrimp tacos and lobster tacos. Everyone loved what they got. Thank you for feeding us! read more

Came here after seeing how busy it was. We had the fish and chips. So fresh and tasty. About the best we have ever had. Light beer battered. Also had the clam chowder. Very good not to heavy with perfect texture and taste. Service was outstanding. Not a fancy place but great selection of seafood. Everything looked amazing. This will be our new go to seafood restaurant. They don't have a large dining area inside but ample outdoor seating. read more

The aguachiles were ON POINT. A refreshing, bright salsa covering the plump tender shrimp. It wasn't too spicy so it was very enjoyable. The chicken tenders were surprisingly juicy and well fried. The regular fries were nice and crisp on the outside with a fluffy inside but the garlic fries were unsalted and thus lacked flavor. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will be back! read more

The first time I went I had the halibut fish and chips! It was delicious. They serve a generous portion of coleslaw as well as a generous portion of fries with your order. They also have generous seating inside and outside. read more

Great little spot for lunch. We sat outside because every table inside was taken. It's a popular place!! We surprisingly didn't wait too long for food. We ordered fish tacos. I had one fried fish and one shrimp taco with a salad. I liked the fried one better. The salad was nice and fresh. I was going to comment that it was a bit pricy for lunch,($18) but that was a lot of food. I've had fish tacos from Baja all the way up to Vancouver. I'd rate this an 8 out of 10. The ratio of toppings and the large fish piece made it a little hard to eat. The shrimp taco needed more flavor I think. Overall, I was impressed and will be back. read more

So we just found our new seafood spot‼ If you are searching for some delicious seafood you have to try this place. We drove to Grover Beach and we were feeling hungry so we decided to try this spot. A family ran business opened just a few months. But they go it down right. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but it has a very nice patio area with shaded umbrellas. The restaurant was very clean and you could see the cooks working their magic in the kitchen. We had the Cabo Fish tacos and the shrimp tostadas. Both dishes were fresh and so delicious. My husband said the battery on the fish tacos were even tastier than Cape Cod in Shell Beach!! The food was priced appropriately, not over priced at all, we hope it stays that way. Very helpful staff and very kind. We shall return‼ read more

Food & service here is great for such a tiny little place. We ordered the sampler platter which included fish, shrimp, calamari & fries. The shrimp were huge, calamari was tender but the batter on the fish was quite greasy & thick. The fish itself was delicious after removing most of the batter & we suggested they consider offering a finer, breadcrumb like coating as an option. We will definitely return. read more

I was pleasantly surprised how delicious the seafood was! I ordered the daily special fried oysters and chips and the batter was amazing! It was crispy, airy, and tasty. They also had fresh raw oysters on their daily special when I came, but I decided to try the fried instead. My Brother has been telling me for months that I have got to try this place. He visits from Oregon and I live in Morro Bay. We had lunch yesterday and we both ordered halibut fish, and chips. It was absolutely perfect. The batter was light not too overbearing very crunchy and a fish was super tender. Coleslaw excellent! Very friendly, outstanding service. Even though we ate outside on a picnic table, they came out twice to ask us how everything was! If you're in the Grover Beach area you must check this place out. Restaurant Start-Up Makes An Impression..... Pros: Big portions. Low prices. Very friendly people. Cons: It's like an expanded food truck Suggestion: Call ahead and get takeout food since the place is small Star Ratings: - Overall: 3 - Location: 3 - Ambiance: 2 - Menu: 3 - Food Quality: 3 - Food Quantity: 5 - Service: 5 - Price: 5 - Value: 4 - Parking: 5 Word-of-mouth about Pier 101 since it opened in March 2025 was so good my wife and I...along with another couple...felt we absolutely needed to try it. So we went for dinner at 430 PM on a Monday to make sure we got a seat. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: - Location: It depends. Pier 101 is at the corner of Grand Avenue and 8th Street so that's great if you're near Highway 1, but not as good if you're coming from 101. Plus there's still road construction on that part of Grand (see cons). - Food Quantity: Big portions everywhere! - Service: Exceptional. Although you order at the cash register, the young women walking around were very friendly and helpful. Lots of smiles! - Price: Tough to beat. Almost everything was below $20...with most things $10-15. They must be operating on a low margin. - Parking: No problem. There's a big lot across 8th Street with a ton of spaces. Cons: - Food Quality: Disappointing. All the reviews raved about the food...and while it wasn't bad...it reminded us of what you get from a food truck. My Shrimp Tacos ($17) had an "unusual" aftertaste and the accompanying garlic fries were mighty light on garlic. My wife had Steamed Clams and Mussels ($17) and said the "clams were fine, but the mussels were dry and tough". One friend had Fish and Chips (3 pieces for $16) while her husband had Seafood Penne Pasta ($20). He really liked his dish while she said her's was "pretty good". - Ambiance: Like a beach shack. Pier 101 is small with 5 tables for 4 people each plus a few picnic tables outside. It's clean, but basic. Utensils were plastic. The restaurant version of a "start-up". - Location: Construction on Grand Avenue drags on after 2 years and the turn onto 8th Street was blocked on the day we ate. - Menu: Kind of limited. They're probably doing everything possible with the kitchen space. There's no beer or wine, but they might be waiting for a license. With Pier 101, you need to set proper expectations. Given all the rave reviews, we expected to be blown away. And you will....if big quantities of okay food at low prices are most important. read more

Pier 101 is a new spot that is getting a lot of well deserved hype from locals. We tried the rockfish tacos and the 3pc fish & chips - both were delicious, cooked fresh to order, neither overly oily or salty. The fish and sides were also decently portioned for the prices. It's so refreshing to have a local seafood option that is more reasonably priced than the beachside tourist traps. I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu items! read more
