this place is not very good my daughter got a poke bowl that was 24 dollars and when the poke came out it had grey edges around every piece the fish was clearly not fresh. The place looked exactly the same and we've always enjoyed the booth seating. It's been awhile and we thought we'd pop in for some fish and chips. Although it's been awhile since my family and I came back to this establishment, it's still just as amazing as ever. The ambience of the restaurant is a Homey-old town vibe. It's very clean on the inside, it's clear they always tidy up the place! Everytime we come into the place (we're not from here but we always come when we can), it's always delicious! The sourdough clam chowder bowl was creamy with no 'fishy taste' it just tasted exquisite and very easy to get full from! My mom got the coconut shrimp in which those were amazing as well!! You can CLEARLY taste the crispiness of the coconut! My dad got the fish n chips (we shared the sourdough bowl because well it's kinda big and fulfilling!) He loved his fish n chips, and I stole a bite as well, I do not like fish at all but when it comes to this restaurant, I'll eat the fish from here!! It's crispy on the outside, and when you bite into it there's a lot of flavor, especially with the tartar sauce!! This is our usual go to place whenever we are able to come down. Juan always gives us a happy greeting while seating us at our table, and the rest of the staff does an amazing service for everyone around us! Craving Fish and Chips so decided to try this place since it's their name. This is an old fashioned laid out place and gives the ambience its hometown vibe. We were greeted and our server was great. The fries a okay. We had their fresh house salads with a spring mix, carrots, cherry tomatoes topped with tortilla strips. This is a casual restaurant and the decor is warm cozy old school. This was our second time in, and we didn't stay to eat because of the service. The first time in, our food was great but the service was not. Our server (don't know her name) but she had bright purple lipstick. The server couldn't maintain a conversation or eye contact. Then she complained to another server about how horrible her tips were. This made us uncomfortable. She continued to discuss money and how poor people were tipping her, this ruined our experience because we didn't want to hear about someone's problems while treating ourselves to a dinner out. We decided to go back tonight and we didn't stay because the same server (bright purple lipstick again) was treating the hostess terribly. The server was packing an order and said to the hostess she can't work off the clock, the hostess replied that she was doing a shift review and a customer needed help, and the server was nowhere to be found, so the hostess helped the customer. The server got visibly upset and said no, they can wait. The hostess looked defeated because she was just trying to help customers and the business. Customer service is huge when going out and to see and hear this server be so disrespectful makes us not want to go to this restaurant. Went back to give this restaurant another chance. Fairly crowded and food being served looked good. My wife and I split the large fish and chips. Enough food for two IMO. We asked what the batter was they used and server said a water based. Also have cracker coated crust available . We mentioned we like beer battered and no cracker coating and our server said we can do that. So accommodating. We'll we had the cod and so delicious and a large portion. We also had a couple beers and now highly recommend this restaurant. Service was excellent and super friendly.
