The ambience can't get any better with being right on the ocean looking off a cliff. The service was good, nothing to complain about. We ordered mimosas, cappuccino's, and I ordered the eggs Benedict with homestyle fries. The mimosa was beautiful not too much orange juice, perfect balance. The cappuccino was delicious. Could've been a little hotter obviously it probably sat just for a little bit. Deep rich flavors, nice hint of cocoa and that deep rich coffee taste. And my eggs Benedict were just awesome. Perfectly cooked, with the yolk still runny, but not too runny in the middle. The hollandaise sauce was beautiful perfect consistency. Great taste. The homestyle fries/potatoes were perfectly cooked. We stayed at the Cliff's so we visited Marisol mainly for drinks each evening. The only meal we had there was for brunch on our way back to San francisco. Drinks/Ambiance: 5/5 Drinks were refreshing, cocktails were handmaid, and they all tasted delicious. The views and sunsets here are unbeatable along the pristine central coastline. Service was was top tier. I did enjoy we would have our drinks and walk around the cliffs or go outside and enjoy the impeccable grounds. Brunch: was more of a pop in and out and sit at the bar moment but I ordered the biscuits and gravy. Service was great again but the actual biscuits were a bit dry and I wish they had more gravy to make up for it. But overall, not bad. Everything else tasted great! Would recommend. read more

On our way to Cambria my family and I stopped by to have a light lunch. What a beautiful place. The view is incredible overlooking the ocean. Seating outside on the patio was perfect on this sunny day in Pismo Beach. We walked in and were greeted with a smile. The hostess seated us within ten minutes. The waiter was friendly and attentive. I ordered an iced cold spritz which was so delicious. I enjoyed every sip. We ordered three starters to share with our drinks. Wings, ahi tuna and guacamole. Very average food. Our lunch experience at Marísol was fantastic. If you're unsure what to order, a phenomenal server like Andrew S is always valuable. I was very impressed with the Shell Beach Spritz cocktail that Andrew S recommended. It was not only beautiful to look at, but also delicious. We tried the Cliff's prime burger, the garden omelet, the lamb, the bagel & smoked salmon, and the French toast with three drinks. Each dish was wonderful. My husband and I particularly enjoyed the lamb lollipops and the brûléed banana French toast the most. The bacon accompaniment with the French toast is probably the best in the world. It was crisp and the high-quality meat was perfectly cooked. My husband praised it highly. All in all, this restaurant offers a stunning ocean view and excellent food. Don't come here unless you're staying at the Cliffs and want to pay a lot for subpar food. We got the fish tacos and the quinoa avocado salad with chicken. The battered fish in the tacos seemed previously frozen and had no flavor. The breading was soggy and did not have that satisfying crunch. The toppings on the tacos were very tasty and helped cover up the blandness of the fish. The tortillas were also a bit cold and broke easily. The quinoa avocado salad was decent, but the upcharge for chicken isn't worth it. The chicken was dry and we didn't get very much for a ten dollar upcharge. I did enjoy the dressing on the salad though, and the salad was plated nicely. The service was a bit slow and nothing great. We often felt forgot about. The ambiance was really nice. There's a beautiful view of the ocean from the patio. Pick this place if you care more about views than your dining experience. read more

Marisol has been our go to restaurant for family occasions for several years and has always been an excellent experience. Today, not so much. The host told us to just "walk around" to find our group instead of walking us to the table. Our wait staff was not as attentive as we have had in the past. The restaurant was not crowded or busy so I was surprised. The food! Disappointing is a polite word. I ordered "waffles". I received ONE round waffle which was barely warm, not crispy and had a texture like a frozen waffle that had been reheated. $16.00! It was accompanied by two sausages! The avocado "toast" ordered by one of our guest was a large uncut overly toasted flat bread with the toppings piled on which was not a pleasant experience. She had to request TOAST! I don't know if the kitchen staff is trained to think about how the plated meal would be received as a guest who is dining; I would think that the chef, cooks and wait staff would ensure that the food is hot, not over cooked or undercooked and have training sessions weekly or regularly that would cue them to think about the foods they are preparing and serving. On the positive side the weather was nice and we enjoyed the great view as always. read more

They also originally brought out fish tacos when she ordered fish and chips so the fiancé had to wait for her food to be fixed. The drinks were forgot about, I asked for them after the food finally came out. The Bloody Mary was a 4/10, not good. Our server came once every 20 minutes, if that. They give you some delicious corn nuts with Tajín and lime. So yummy! For dinner we had lettuce wraps which were pretty good. The chicken tinga flautas were ok. When I saw Tinga for me I was expecting a chipotle flavored chicken but it was just chicken not bad just not what tinga I know is. Good portion and nice addition with the pickled onions. It is a bit on the pricier side for the food. They have some happy hour items we didn't get to try but looked good. We will deff try other items when we come back. The spritzer was the best drink. The margarita didn't have a lot of flavor just strong alcohol which not complaining just not what I was expecting. Service was good at the bar and in the dining area. On a recent staycation, we went in search of dig friendly breakfast places. Not only does Marisol have a dog friendly patio, they have a menu of items for your furry friends. Our pups thoroughly enjoyed sharing a beef & rice dish. I am a lover of sweet breakfast options and they have a French toast dish reminiscent of bananas Foster, with bruleed bananas. The dish came with sausage--it was all delicious!! My husband loved his traditional egg and bacon breakfast, and commented on really liking getting a side dish of condiments (jam, butter, catsup, etc). Came here for the Valentine's dinner special. It was $125 per person for a five course meal (but it really felt like it was 3.5 course meal). For the first course, I got the oysters (disappointed that it was only 3 pieces and they were really small). Next was a small bite to enhance the taste of the entrée meal which was a filet mignon. The filet mignon was really good, I've got to give them that. Then we were given sorbet which was delicious but again small portion. The last course was a dessert buffet, that was great. I was here on a work trip, and we stayed here. The restaurant is situated on the cliffs and is part of the Cliff's hotel. So the views here are absolutely breathtaking. We ordered carnitas tacos and steak chilaquiles and both dishes were absolutely delicious and bursting with flavors. The steak was cooked to perfection and the carnitas were moist and tender! Highly recommend these dishes! Our waiter was amazing, he was helpful, tentative, and efficient. He suggested the steak versus the shrimp that comes with the chilaquiles. He also brought us a side of jalapeños, salsa, and hot sauce without us requesting for it which was pretty impressive because that was very thoughtful. As a Spa member, I dine here often. Most of my experiences have been great. Food is always exceptional. My burger always comes med rare and fries crispy. I love their calamari and seafood dishes. I try to avoid dinner times because they do get busy and service is much slower. The blonde bartender is amazing and makes my drinks just the way I like it. The waitress in passing, with hosting abilities, went catatonic and was unable to find us a table on the computer, giving us no response. The hostess finally found us, did not introduce herself, rudely stated we could not sit at the table, stated we had to check in with the hostess, provided zero customer service and walked away without waiting for a response from us. I would have given Marisol 4 stars - but the food was subpar. Pros: wait staff is incredible - very personable and attentive. Beverages were cold, water topped up frequently. Garlic fries were incredible - I could have made a meal just with them. However - cons: I had the turkey sandwich with avocado and bacon. Unfortunately, the bread was too thick and it tasted sort of like wonderbread - sweet with a soft texture. Bacon was undercooked. The turkey was folded up and only filled half of the bun, so as you bit into it, the tomato and avocado squeezed out the side and end of the sandwich. It was also very dry, with only a small smear of what could have been mayo on one side of the bun. It would have been great on sliced whole wheat sourdough, if the filling had been arranged to fit the whole sandwich. For $19, that was pretty disappointing. read more

Everything we ate was delicious! The ate the special of the day which was a pan roasted halibut with white beans. It was so flavorful and well cooked. I ate the pesto crusted halibut with mushroom risotto. It was nutty, creamy and seasoned perfectly. We also tried the breakfast burrito, the clam chowder and burger with fries. Everything was excellent! I especially enjoyed the clam chowder. The service was very fast and we were able to get a table overlooking the ocean on a Friday night. Very poor customer service. I'd avoid. Booked an anniversary weekend at the Cliffs Hotel. Decided to try Marisol as the Hotel front desk recommended it. We enter in, no one greeted us. After waiting a few minutes, someone finally acknowledged my husband waiting there. We asked for a table outside. A blonde hostess (Didn't catch her name) lead us to the outside patio table that was tucked in a corner with a large group next to it. Very tight and uncomfortable. My husband asked for a table across from it that was open and instead of seeing if it was available for us she said, this is the first table available in a rude tone and wouldn't consider us moving to it. So I told her that we will have to pass as that table was a little too crowded for our liking and left and went to Lidos next door where we were very pleased. read more
