We book a table as we wanted to try it out. We had dined at the restaurant at our hotel and it was NOT a great experience so we were hoping to have at least one great restaurant experience in the area... Marisol did not disappoint! The food, service and ambiance were spot on, 5 stars! It was also very child and family friendly, great for a family of five! AMBIANCE- 5 STARS It's the restaurant that's nestled in the Cliffs Hotel right by the cliffs overlooking the beach. It has a European flair to it which I appreciate as the colors are so vibrant and also lots of flowers and plants around! The views are impeccable, right by the ocean and you can smell the ocean air and feel the wind around you. They also have heaters in case you get cold, but I would make sure to bring a sweater just in case as it gets chilly! We booked a table for brunch- which was super easy and simple to do. You go online and book a reservation. SERVICE - 5 Stars We arrived there and immediately were impressed by the people working there. They made sure we had a nice view and we're all set up with the high chairs we needed. Our server was really sweet, had great recommendations and checked in on us often if we needed anything. He even brought us complimentary fruit because he saw the kids were super hot and famished. The food came out quickly and we were able to enjoy with the beautiful view! FOOD- 5 stars The food was delicious! They have plenty of options for kids, not just fried junk but actual decent food like pancakes, grill cheese, etc. We got the pancakes for my oldest and for our twins they shared the chicken tenders and fries with a salad. Hubby ordered the fish tacos and they were devoured in minutes. I had the ahi rice bowl that was also delicious! If only we had room for dessert, next time! Had a cousin reunion lunch at Marisol on a beautiful, perfect weather California day, September 2nd. We sat out on the patio; the view was spectacular and the food was delicious. I had the Bloody Mary and Thai chicken lettuce wraps - each terrific. My husband and I came here for our anniversary. We put on the reservation we would like indoor and what we were celebrating. When we arrived for our reservation at 7:15 we were just asked to have a seat. 25 minutes later we were escorted to an outdoor table. We were brought water, but still no waiter after 10 minutes. Finally he arrives and we asked for an appetizer and ice bucket since we brought our own bottle. 10 more minutes. He sets the bottle on ice and still doesn't open it. 10 more minutes he brings our appetizer and opens the bottle. Still doesn't pour it. I'm over it and pour for my husband and I. It starts to get cold, and we ask for a heater. They give our table neighbors one but not us. My husband orders some food and I tell him eat and let's go I'm cold. Food is taking forever and I overhear the waitress next to us say the kitchen is backed up. I say to my husband I am NOT waiting for your food to come in the cold, I'm going inside to wait. The waiter hears us and says we can go inside into the lounge. He will move our things. Thanks! We move inside and 10 minutes later comes food. Yay. I think that's quick let's just get dessert and leave, we have now been here two hours. Nope- 30 minutes wait for panna cotta and terrible inedible creme brûlée and I don't finish my dessert I just get up and go to the bathroom and wait for my husband to get the check and pay. We did not leave that place until 9:55. I don't care how backed up you are, how shorthanded you are, none of this was acceptable. While the lamb lollipops were good- I would have loved to actually order dinner but we might have never received our food. I was literally scared to order dinner here because the wait for small things was so atrocious. Don't eat here. Please just let my tale be a warning. read more

I am usually pretty tolerant of some delays in drink and food orders being served, but it was excessive today and the wine served was not what was ordered. It was replaced after I pointed it out but then took another 30 minutes to get another drink order. The restaurant wasn't crowded but it took forever to get our food and even though the restaurant and server knew we were celebrating an 80th birthday, nothing special, not even a cup of ice cream was offered. When we mentioned to the hostess on the way out at our disappointed of the service, she responded that she hoped it would be better the next time. There won't be a next time as there are plenty of restaurants in Pismo Beach to choose from. read more

Located next door to the Cliffs Hotel, this was my first meal in Pismo Beach. This place sits right on the cliffs with the patio view overlooking the ocean. It's gorgeous! A sunny day, but a bit chilly, the patio offers heaters throughout, so pick a seat in the sun with a heater and you got it together! Lunch for this day, Turkey Club with Fries. It's HUGE! So much meat! The turkey is real off the bone turkey, similar to what you get for the holidays and very flavorful! The fries were amazing! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. These aren't skinny fries by any means and I certainly could not finish my order. Between the meal and the view, this is a must visit. Get here! read more

Not to mention it arrived cold to our table. The tartar Sauce had a glaze sitting in the window, the Fish and Shrimp were served cold and soggy. The fries were the same. Zero follow up from the server of whom literally vanished after taking our initial order. Par for the course there now. - The Views there are incredible however the poor service and food quality negated that. We went back after seeing an ad for a new menu on Facebook. The pictures vs what we received were quite different and not in a positive way. We are locals and can say we have made our final visit to the Cliffs. Definitely not what it used to be. During our visit, the ambiance was spectacular, the food luxurious, the prices reasonable, and the service from the staff excellent, but... Simple eggs and bacon. How could they screw that up? Totally generic / like you'd get at an ordinary diner, but $33 with the automatic gratuity. Eggs ok. Bacon greasy. Hash browns undercooked. And cold. English muffin had been toasted hours ago. Also cold. Didn't bother sending it back. Just paid. Left it sitting. Walked next door to the Lido restaurant (part of Dolphin Bay resort. Had a perfect eggs Benedict. So if you're staying at the cliffs, do yourself a favor and go next door to eat. This kind of food should embarrass the Cliffs hotel. read more

My friends and I used to frequent Marisol and their Sunday brunch often the last few years but when we attended the first day of 2025 it was a huge disappointment. First off it was not that busy and our drinks from coffee to Bloody Mary took over 10-15 minutes and to add drinks weren't made correctly and the coffee tasted bitter and cold. 50/50 with the food, half of my party was satisfied with their meal. Really nice restaurant. Great food. Staff was pleasant and helpful but the reason I'm leaving the review is because of Eric the server. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and expedient. His service and care was extraordinary. We had a baby that was fussy but when my wife had to go to the bathroom to change a diaper after her food arrived, he put her dish under the salamander to keep it hot. When my baby was crying and we didn't bring the hot water, he brought us some hot water. He was quick to help us with other needs we had and it made our experience a lot more enjoyable. He had a great attitude and his service and care left me and my wife feeling we had a great experience. I will come back here for sure if this is the caliber of service I can expect. read more

Nice place. Most restaurants pride themselves on their food but their music is always canned. Places like this should have an inexpensive musician entertaining everyone. We are lunch here while we were staying at The Cliffs. Beautiful location overlooking the Bluffs. We sat on the patio because it was such a beautiful November day. Our waiter was Johnny and he was very charming but a bit slow with service. He may have had a lot of tables not sure. The food was very good. I had the acia bowl Which had fresh berries, mango and bananas. My husband had the hash brown omelet which quite large. He loved it. My daughter had the club sandwich which was also excellent. All the portions were quite large and presented beautifully. I would definitely eat here again. The slowness of the service is the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. read more

Only my husbands choice from the Pre-fix, he chose beet salad ( wish we could've had it too) Osso Bucco and a sorbet. He said everything was pretty good. My friend had the Salmon with the Halibut sides. I guess there was a hair on her side plate that she didn't notice until she took some of the beet salad and was eating. We were told we would get a discount, but when the bill came, there wasn't one so my husband mentioned it. They gave him 15% off of his meal. I know things like this can happen and none of us were freaked out. I had the halibut and I've had better. It was a little dry and the macadamia nuts on top were so so. I had an old-fashioned which was pretty good but I thought the menu said it was $15 and then we were charged 17 and I didn't notice it until later. So unfortunately, I really don't know which is right. Our server was Andrew and we had to ask for him a few times. He was taking care of a big party Around the corner and behind us so I understand that but we were customers also. The other wait staff kept our water glasses full. What an amazing choice! We made a reservation as a party of 9 on a Friday evening about a week prior. We were all celebrating our anniversary's and noted that when making our reservation. We arrived a little early and were seated early. Our waiter AJ was phenomenal & checked in with us multiple times throughout the evening as well as acknowledged we were all celebrating our anniversary's. Sheri, who I presume is a manager, also came and checked in on us during the beginning of our meal also and acknowledged our celebration. The food was delicious. Everyone at the table got something different, from filet mignon, chicken, to pork Tomahawk and salads...and there were no complaints. All the staff were so kind. 100/10 recommend! read more

We hoped this would be a wonderful way to spend our Valentine's Day. It was a "prix fixe" menu at $120 per person. They called it a five course meal, but it was really a two courses with a dessert bar (a teaspoon of sorbet in between and a little cube of lobster at the beginning which they considered a course). My Kobe steak was very fatty & my asparagus was nearly raw (uncooked), my husband's Chilean Sea Bass was bland with very little flavor. The service was terrible. I went for brunch on Saturday morning. Parking is a bit tricky because now the majority of parking lot is for valet parking and the far and few for the beach/public parking are limited. We parked next to the employee parking lot which also has limited parking, so just be patient when looking for parking. We walked in and were greeted by the hostess. We had the choice to sit inside or outside but the problem with sitting outside was that there was a tent for a venue that was blocking the ocean view. We decided to sit inside instead. We ordered two bumblebees, fresh OJ, peaches and cream smoothie, french toast with bananas and a side of bacon and a fillet mingnon burrito. The food was yummy and satisfying! The portion sizes were good for us but we still had leftovers and took some home. Went to Marisol at the Cliffs for Valentines Day for their 5 course dinner and dessert buffet. It took almost 45 minutes for our first dish to arrive. Was rather disappointed with the food quantity and quality for such a steep price. The oysters were the smallest I've ever seen, and were nothing special in terms of taste, similar issue with the prawns. The ribeye on the 2nd course however was quite good, but again if comparing price to quantity and quality, it didn't make up for the rest of it. Staff was nice and accommodating though. We did have a nice experience with them. But overall I don't see us returning to there as the price to quality/quantity was easily not worth it. read more
