We discovered HolyBelly while visiting Pismo and absolutely loved it. The huevos rancheros were out of this world. I've had them at plenty of places, and these were honestly some of the best I've ever had. The beans, pico de gallo and chorizo sauce were so good together. I ordered mine with soft corn tortillas instead of crispy ones and scrambled eggs, which I definitely preferred. My husband and I also shared the tiramisu French toast, which was delicious and a HUGE portion, so come hungry! The kids' menu is very generous, maybe even a little too generous if your kids have smaller appetites. My 11-year-old got the $12 pancake meal with eggs and sausage but could really only finish the pancake. We took the eggs and sausage back to the hotel, but honestly they'll probably end up getting thrown out. For my 5-year-old, we just ordered a pancake by itself for about $4, and he only ate about a quarter of that. So if your kids don't eat a lot, I'd definitely recommend ordering the $4 pancake by itself instead of the full kids' breakfast. In hindsight, I would've done that for both of mine. Overall, the food was excellent and the portions were very generous. We'd absolutely come back the next time we're in the area. Highly recommend!
My family was really looking forward to eating here and had been studying the menu for weeks. Unfortunately, we won't be back. Pros: Short wait time and a nice server. Cons: The restaurant was VERY loud. It was a Sunday morning so the restaurant was full. Efforts were made to mitigate the noise, but it just wasn't enough. The food was pretty bland and breakfast plates do not include normal offerings like toast. I ordered the breakfast burger. I was expecting a thick homemade beef patty, but it seemed to be a previously frozen patty that was smaller than an In-and-Out burger patty. The description of the burger seemed promising with the jalapeño aioli, but overall it was flavorless. My at-home burger efforts would have been far more satisfying. My daughter ordered the Belgian waffle with whipped cream and fruit and gave it 2/5. My son ordered the churro pancakes and said that there was "too much going on" with it (2/5). I tasted the pancakes and agreed that there wasn't a winning flavor combination. My husband ordered the western omelette and gave it 2/5. The ham in the omelette was deli sliced ham! When we order an omelette that includes ham from a restaurant we're expecting ham cubes. Lastly, there's an additional charge for using your credit or debit card to pay for your meal. We wanted to love it, but unfortunately we will not be returning.
I went there this morning for breakfast at 8:30. I got the steak with the spicy french fries. I ordered it medium rare, and it was definitely well done. I'm only guessing they did it well done because of the extremely gamey flavor of the steak, suggests that it was past its due date. I hope I don't get sick. I definitely do not recommend this place at all for the food. On top of that there was zero service and the ambience was a hospital cafeteria environment. Will never come back. they should make zero stars a thing on this platform. Honestly, if I wasn't on a road trip already in the next town, I would have asked for my money back. Lastly, they say their dog friendly, but they are definitely not.
Back at the 'Belly for the first time in a while. Everything was just as good as ever. Enjoyed the Benedict Verde. The pork was lean and tender, soaked in a spicy verde sauce. Pickled onions added a nice tanginess. The hashed browns were crispy and fluffy. Friendly, attentive service and a warm ambiance make for a relaxing meal. Can't recommend this place enough!
Update 2/15/26 Still great service and happy to see this place is still busy. I had the chorizo Benedict this time around. The poached egg was a little over poached (not runny at all), but still good. We order our hash browns extra crispy and they came out perfect. My wife had the Golden Flame Chicken Sandwich and is was good, but not spicy at all. She was hoping for more spicy, so she added Cholula hot sauce to the chicken. Still looking forward to trying other options on the menu. Next time. Cheers!
We went there on a Monday and it was still pretty packed. We got seated and served pretty quickly. my holybelly omelette was solid, with all kinds of meat inside and potatoes that were good, but not great. My wife got the garden omelette and she loved the option of fruit. All in all, it was a solid breakfast.
Food was good, coffee was nice and hot. The place was busy, the staff seemed to be a little disorganized. You are supposed to sign yourself in but there is no sign directing you to, lots of empty tables and people in the lobby waiting for them, staff comes into work and starts working without washing their hands and continues to touch their hair as they are working. Hopefully they get it together, the food is worth it.
Cute little local diner with great customer service food was good. And the hash browns made it worth it. Soft inside crispy on the outside. My husband had the classic Benedict hollandaise sauce was executed perfectly. I had the holy belly omelette its was good but I like more veggies with my meat and less egg but still good.
If you love chilaquiles I recommend you taste them here. This is one of the closest sauces to the one my mom makes at home. I usually always get green but these were very tasty. A little spice and good flavor crispy tortilla chips and a nice side of avocado. My bf got the chorizo Benedict big portion and good flavor. My only complaint overall with both dishes are eggs not fully cooked when I order over medium I can't have the egg white still runny and this was the case with both our eggs. Maybe to some it's not a big deal but it is for us. The service was quick and everyone was friendly. We went early so it was pretty quiet when we arrived but it slowly started to get busy. I would come back here for the chilaquiles again for sure!
We had the Steak and Eggs and the California Benedict. The California Benedict was really fresh and bright with spinach, avocado and tomato instead of the regular ham. Ordered the steak medium but can well done but it was still really yummy. Also able to sub fruit for the hash browns. All in all food and service was really good and the coastal boho ambiance made for a relaxed breakfast.
We recently tried this place in the space of the former Persian restaurant for breakfast. The service was very sweet. The menu is varied. I had my go-to brekkie item, Huevos Rancheros. It was presented beautifully. The tortillas they use are hard. The components of the dish are layered one on top of the other. This makes it a little hard to cut and eat. The sauce appeared house made. It had a hint of smoke, probably from chipotles. It did lack some acid, but some salsa picosa helped. We will definitely return.
Second time here and it was just as good as the first time. The food was fresh and delicious. The service is always fast. It was a little on the loud side today but it's to be expected when everyone is enjoying their time and food.
Watch out Grover Beach! An absolutely delicious local Hispanic owned Brunch spot is here!! We got the sunrise crisp and the tiramisu French toast - 10/10 for both! The home fries with the chicken fried steak were perfectly seasoned and crispy The tiramisu butter was delicious and the bread was fluffy and soft On a side note.. the ambiance was welcoming with beautiful plants hanging from the walls and cute light fixtures It was pretty packed when we went around 1 pm - Expect a wait (about 30-40 min for us) but it's totally worth it! Only thing I can think of for improvement would be using real maple syrup to enhance the already delicious flavors I highly recommend HolyBelly for your next brunch!
Stopped by Holy Belly on a Friday morning--more brunch time than breakfast--but we still went with breakfast, and I'm glad we did. I had the La Royale, which I'd describe as a decadent French toast sandwich loaded with thinly sliced grilled ham and gooey Swiss cheese. It was excellent. We also tried the ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote, which were equally delicious--light, flavorful, and a great complement to the savory La Royale. Prices were very reasonable, service was friendly and attentive, and the location was convenient with easy parking. Holy Belly is definitely going on our list of go-to breakfast and brunch spots the next time we're in town. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu! read more

Me and my family really wanted to enjoy this. We love eating at local breakfasts spots and trying new things but this was honestly one of the not best experiences here in Arroyo Grande. THERE WAS HAIR AND SPOILED SALMON served to us in the salmon bagel. As well the bagel itself was not toasted and it was so PLAIN. That itself was the worst part. As well, we are a party of 6, and all parties of 6 are forced to do 20% tip but for not the best service. We expected to have good service but it was just not the best, they wouldn't check up on us, and they didn't welcome us in. The staff itself did not check up on us, and the food took a long time and the time to get seated took a long time as well. It took more than 30 minutes to get seated and it took 20 minutes to receive food. The steak and eggs were good, they were actually seasoned, but the portion was so small for $24 dollars. The american breakfast was extremely plain, and the bacon was burnt and the eggs were unseasoned. As well, the portion of everything was extremely small. The breakfast burrito was good, and it was a good portion. The eggs benedict was just very plain, and has no flavor. As well, the muffins were not toasted. The chicken sandwich was very plain, the chicken was practically white and only seasoned with pepper. It has slamdown on the name and it was not flavorful at all. Very good place, huge plates, delicious taste, they serve pretty fast, service is very good also, i just want to mention that over the weekends they are very full and may not have the best details attention in all the orders so keep that in mind when you have an specific request, coffee is delicious and they do refills,also their prices were very good also, I like that. read more

Recently had the opportunity to have a wonderful breakfast at this quaint little café. Service was quick and very efficient and although there's a wait for your table it goes quickly. I have the eggs Benedict, which is very classic and deliciously made my friend had the garden omelette which as you can see was delightful. Can't wait to come back and try something new. read more
We had heard great things about this new restaurant in Grover Beach but frankly it was just average. Other reviewers have talked about beautiful presentation but there was nothing on ours. Out of four people one person thought his meal was excellent and would return. He had the chorizo eggs Benedict. I had an egg and biscuit sandwich which was tasty enough but no presentation and too much salty Canadian bacon. Just a sandwich on a white plate. The biscuit was toasted which I do not care for. One person had the tamale and it was again white food on a white plate. She ate half of it. One person had a Denver omelette and hash-browns. Just OK. To top it off the sound was obnoxious. The voices of the staff visiting at the front desk carried loudly. Plus they had a mixer going that drowned out all conversation in the restaurant for several minutes at a time. We mentioned it and they could have closed the door to the back but they did not. read more
Food was great. We ordered tiramisu french toast and holy belly omelette. But the service is meh. Staff wasn't pretty nice. Vibe was awkward. Ask for what we want to drink right at the second we just sat down, it was our first time here. We ordered food then in the middle of eating like 15mins in they gave us a check. They close at 2pm but we got our check at 1:10pm. Not sure if they treat all of the customers the same way or just us. Just not as happy as I was expected to come here to eat on my day off. read more

We stopped by on the way home from Pismo Beach. We found HollyBelly which is a small restaurant in Grover City. I ordered the Chilaquiles with red sauce and over medium eggs. I usually rate a restaurant on how good their chilaquiles are and they passed my test. They were flavorful and with the right spicy kick to it. My wife had the La Royal which was similar to a Monte Christo sandwich. Everything was delicious and our server was excellent! We are glad we found this spot. read more

Food was amazing! I had a chili verde Benedict and as you can see, the presentation is beautiful and the flavor is perfect. Totally unique. The service is attentive and kind. The ambiance is cozy. I would highly recommend this place. I am definitely coming again when I am in the area. read more

My partner came here on a late Saturday morning around 10am. There was no wait and the staff were attentive the moment we walked through the door. We were immediately sat and they took our drink order. My partner and I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo and all American breakfast with fruit instead of bacon. The food came in good timing. The food was delicious and I particularly liked how the burrito has bell peppers, it gave it a nice crunch and flavor. House potatoes were made yummy with red skin potatoes. It was a nice morning breakfast! Got slightly more busier within the next hour. read more
Holy Belly has a nice name and is quaint! The inside is tastefully decorated. I felt that the menu had decent breakfast and lunch options. I tried the Ahi Tartare and it filled me up! The presentation was wonderful! My kids ordered breakfast and they were nice portions! The kid's meal comes with a fountain drink with their meal so keep a note of that. It was quite busy so we had a wait a bit for the food. However the delicious food made up for it! read more
Great experience for breakfast. Stopped in here a few times and have enjoyed the waffles and pancakes. The service is always really nice, and was able to be seated quickly. Parking is available on the street and usually isn't too busy. Enjoy your food for dine in or carry out. read more

The place is large and clean and so are the bathrooms. We were seated promptly and brought coffee and water. I was excited because they have raw sugar which sometimes I have to bring for coffee. I had a western omelette and it was tasty with fruit. My husband had the holy belly omelette and it was pretty good with hashbrowns. If you want toast or anything, it's extra. Our server was Shelia and she was just OK. I wanted more coffee and it seemed like everybody else was getting it but me. I felt like we were kind of in a black hole. Then I had to flag down the waitress for our Bill as everybody else was getting theirs and we were not. We were just sitting there Already done. I think if the service was better I might've made the four. There were four people in the place and maybe our server was new who knows. read more

Great ambiance and delicious food. We ordered the chorizo benedict, chilaquiles, and the hibiscus iced tea. The egg on the benedict was cooked perfectly with a luscious runny egg. The chipotle hollandaise with a nice flavor profile. The home potatoes were perfectly seasoned, slightly crispy on the outside, with a warm fluffy inside. The hibiscus iced tea was delicious after adding a sugar packet. My husband really enjoyed his chilaquiles stating they were crispy and well-sauced. The sauce was chili-forward without being overpowering. Everything tasted hot and fresh. The servers were courteous overall but didn't check in to refill our drinks until we got the check. Well worth a try! We will be back to try more. read more
