Wooly's is an oceanfront restaurant, so it can get pretty busy, especially during the summer. My family and I had to wait a while for a table, and when we finally got seated, the sun was hitting our table directly. It was a really hot day, so I definitely wished we had chosen a restaurant with more indoor seating. That's not the restaurant's fault, but it's something to keep in mind if you visit on a warm summer day. I had the clam chowder bread bowl and a margarita. The clam chowder was good, although I've definitely had better. The margarita, on the other hand, was perfect--especially on such a warm day! My kids had the fish and chips and a cheeseburger with fries, and they both really enjoyed their meals, so that was a win. There are so many restaurants to choose from in Pismo, but if you're looking for something affordable with a nice ocean view, I'd definitely consider stopping here.

Beers are served in plastic cups. Calamari are stick shaped and includes crisscut fries. Wings are a bit dry and includes veggie sticks (celery & carrots). Outstanding view of the beach. Can get a bit windy but manageable. Great selection of beers! Not looking for a full service experience and need to dine with your pups? Worth giving a try.
One of the few dog friendly options in pismo that has a little menu for the fur babies! This is the main reason we chose this restaurant Food was good and fresh, leaning more on the simple side as far as flavor goes but sometimes less is more. I wanted to share a tip especially if you have a big group, the line to the street is an ordering line, there is only 1 kiosk to order food and you go to another line to pick up. They give you buzzers. So I suggest if you're in line to have a few people from your group grab a table while others wait in line to order everyone's foods. Because the last thing you want after waiting in a 20 min line and then waiting to pick up your food is waiting for a table. Also the bar has a separate line in a separate section so keep that in mind as well
Great view, great service, great spot. It's counter service with a big indoor area, a bar, and an outdoor patio. We got our food quickly. The whole patio was full. The parking lot is next door, so that's easy.
The Drunken Sailor cocktail was sweet and refreshing. The pineapple, citrus, and rum were all distinct and came through smoothly without overpowering one another. Indoor and outdoor seating are available, but I recommend sitting outside for the beach views!
I had a club and it was delicious!! Juicy but not wet! Beautiful outside seating, order at counter and they bring your food. Good service. We will be back!!
After a long walk on the beach, we found ourselves sooooo hungry. Wooly's is located right by the pier. Arrived Saturday at 3pm, just in time for happy hour. The line was 6 people deep and went quickly. We ordered a crispy chicken sandwiche , wings, & garlic fries. Our buzzer buzzed about 15 minutes after ordering. Everything came out hot and delicious. Considering how busy it was they got our food out quickly. The place has seating, indoors and out. We were able to find seats indoors, away from the sun. They can definitely have more umbrellas out there. Inside was nice and cool with a bar and sports playing on the tv. I would recommend Wooly's for awesome beachside food.
Great views of Pismo Beach and great food !! Fish tacos were huge and delicious , 3 monster tacos loaded with fish, crunchy slaw and a tasty sauce. Cobb salad was spot on , chicken was warm and freshly grilled and tasty. I eat a lot of cobb salads and hate chilly pre cooked chicken that doesn't taste fresh. Woolys was awesome, we ended up coming back for breakfast burritos when we left town and they were really good also. Can't beat the views and the food is legit, well done !!
My family and I loved visiting Pismo Beach a few weeks ago and decided to stop again on the way home to check out Wooly's for lunch! It's a little beachfront restaurant that offers a little bit of everything! They offer burgers, sandwiches, tacos, salads and plenty of seafood items like steamed clams, Shrimp Po Boy sandwich and Clam Chowder! We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak with Fries, Kids Quesadilla with Fries, Baja Fish Tacos and a side of Veggie Sticks (which were real veggies). Everything was really good - I loved my tacos. They were flavorful and fresh! Wooly's also offers great drinks as well with a giant bar inside! We really loved sitting outside on the patio - it had great views of the boardwalk and ocean! We couldn't have picked a better day to go too - the weather was beautiful! Wooly's is the type of place where you order at the counter and then they bring you your food - staff were still attentive and helpful even after we received our food. DO NOT FEED THE BIRDS! Overall, it was a good meal with good views! I would absolutely come back the next time we are visiting Pismo Beach! Check them out!
Decent burgers and tacos. Pretty much what you would expect from a place like this but it's done well. We enjoyed the meal and even though it was really busy, the food came out in good time and the tables were clean.

Wifey went with the chicken nachos. Fish tacos were not bad. I prefer grilled over battered so personal preference. But the Nachos were fiya! Had to sacrifice my body and help the wifey with the nachos since it is way too much for one person . Outdoor seating is nice but can be a bit warm sometimes and don't feed the birds lol
It was definitely hard to beat the gorgeous view - easy sunset from seating on the deck! Ordering was easy, and the Cobb salad was everything it needed to be. I'm picky, but my substitutions were easy and they got my order correct. So glad we stopped in for dinner while in town!!
At the end of the street just before your toes hit the sand, there's a place called Wooly's! We were craving fish and chips, and from what we saw other people eating, looked pretty good. Place your order at the counter and they will give you a pager to let you know when your food will be ready at the pick up window. We grabbed two cold beers at the bar and took them to a table outside while we waited for our food. The patio deck is big with plenty of tables looking out towards the beach and ocean. I got the fish and chips while my wife got the calamari strips and chips. They were both perfectly cooked and crispy, as fish and chips should be! This is the perfect spot to end your day at the beach! read more

Come on Wooly's--you really could do better with your fries. You have the amazing view and deck to draw people in, your fish was fried well , sauces are obviously homemade and good, but the fries are terrible. Year after year! read more

At first we we're not gonna go to Wooly's because the line look like it was out the door. We went around 4 PM and it wasn't too crowded. We ordered at the cashier and the food was ready pretty quickly. We had been eating a lot of seafood so we went for the Carne Asada tacos and my husband got the carne asada burrito. He couldn't resist trying the clam chowder though. Everything was delicious. After our food, we decided to have a cocktail and sit on the patio. It's a very lively atmosphere. We enjoyed ourselves and we enjoyed the food here. read more
This is a great casual spot right on the beach in the center of Pismo Beach by the pier. My family enjoyed it so much during our stay that we went twice in 2 days! It's very casual, you order at the counter and then pickup your food when it's ready. You can order drinks at a separate counter and they have nice selection of beers on draft. We ordered a variety of items on both visits and everything was delicious. The stand outs were the Seafood Roll and the Fisherman sandwiches. Highly recommend for anyone swinging through Pismo, I would go back on my next visit. read more

We were at the pier during lunch time and saw this place. Found a table easily and placed the order. They have counter service here. Fish and chips were ok. The fries were the better of the two. Onion rings were nice and crunchy. Chicken Sandwich was good. Cauliflower bites were also surprisingly good. Service was friendly. Overall a good option if you are at the pier. read more

Stopped in for breakfast before walking on pier & beach. When you get there- order food on one side and drinks on other side. You get a vibrating caller and find a seat . There's a window to pick up your food. I got a breakfast burrito so did hubs and they were huge, kids got a dish to share- breakfast nachos, & granddaughter got classic cheese crisp. Great food and place to eat. read more

Great Food, Sunset Views & Extremely Dog-Friendly! We had a fantastic experience at Wooly's in Pismo Beach. The restaurant is located right on the pier with beautiful ocean views, making it an absolutely perfect spot to enjoy a meal--especially at sunset. Wooly's has a great happy hour, and we loved that they are very dog-friendly, allowing dogs on the patio and even offering a dog menu. That alone earns big points in our book! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming--not just to us, but to our dogs as well. While our pups can get a little excited and bark occasionally when they see other dogs, the staff was kind, understanding, and genuinely happy to have them there. We always do our best to make sure they don't disturb other guests, and the team handled everything with warmth and professionalism. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. We ordered burgers, chips with salsa and guacamole, plus beer and wine--and everything hit the spot. Of course, we also ordered beef patties from the dog menu, and our dogs were absolutely in heaven. Between the delicious food, friendly service, dog-friendly atmosphere, and watching the sun set over the ocean, this was a truly enjoyable experience. Perfect location, great vibes, and a wonderful time overall. We will definitely be back! read more

If you are visiting Pismo Beach, put Wooly's on your list.The view is fantastic. The shrimp po' boy was perfectly prepared and hit the spot. Make sure you load up on sides because both the waffle fries and the onion rings are amazing--crispy, seasoned well, and addictive. Highly recommend! read more

The food was great! I had the fish tacos and my husband had the Chilaquiles. At Woolley's you go to the counter and order your food and they bring it to you. As soon as we were done eating they came immediately to gather the dirty dishes and clean the table. read more

Haven't been here in a while. It's been at least several years and we stopped going here because the quality of the food went down and the service was horrible. Tried it again today and loving the new counter service approach. The food was really good and the atmosphere was great. I'll definitely be back. read more

We stopped in for dinner and the prices and food were good! Staff was friendly and helpful but the seating situation was like the Wild West...I love a pet friendly when the pets are...well...friendly? Beautiful location and I won't let the couple with absolutely no clue that if their dog bites them it is probably not safe around strangers ruin the review. Excellent view of the pier and ocean. We decided to stop after seeing the menu. This is a walk up to order and food is separate from the bar. Our food came out quickly and our margaritas were on point. The bartender was quick and generous. I had the clam chowder in a bread bowl and my wife had the chilaquiles with an egg. My chowder had a good amount of chunky clams and vegetables, nice and thick and creamy. The chilaquiles were absolutely the most tasty I've had. Big chunks of chilis, spicy but tasty sauce and the egg was perfect. No need to go anywhere else! read more
The vibes at this place especially during sunset are amazing. The outdoor seating is first come first serve so if it's busy you'll have to awkwardly standby waiting for people to leave. It's probably best to wait until you have a table before ordering because the food is pretty quick. I love their outside patio! You put your order inside, when it's ready your buzzer buzzes and you get up and get your order. I love the view of the ocean and the people. And of course the outside patio is dog friendly. I love their food, I think it all is delicious!!!! My husband loves their clam chowder and their fish tacos had a Chipotle sauce which was delicious! This restaurant is a must for us when we visit Pismo Beach. read more
~Food/Drinks~ Clam Chowder Bowl: Can also do cup or bread bowl. Being in Pismo Beach, I was expecting delicious clam chowder and I think Wooly's hit the mark! It was creamy and chunky with the potatoes and clams. A bowl is the perfect amount for sharing. Each order also comes with a bag of oyster crackers. Wedge Salad: Obligatory salad dish to offset all the fried food. I liked that the dressing was on the side because I find most places tend to drown their wedge salad. The candied walnuts were a nice touch too. Cheese Curds: This is a whole pound so it's definitely meant for sharing. I was hoping for the squeaky cheese but it was more like bite-sized pieces of mozzarella sticks. Still good though and I really liked the thick chipotle aioli it came with. You can also ask for ranch when you pick up your food. Philly Cheesesteak: I wasn't expecting much but when it came out, wow, did it look and smell delicious. It was this scramble of rib eye chunks, onions, and bell peppers...all held together by melted cheese. Pretty good! Very messy to eat because everything falls out of the sandwich so get some utensils to finish up. Alaskan Cod Fish n' Chips: Comes with 3 pieces, fried to golden perfection. It's crispy with a flaky, moist middle. So good but I wish the pieces were a little bigger for the price we paid. Each order comes with waffle fries but for $4, you can upgrade to garlic parmesan. Highly recommend and you'll understand why once you smell the garlic! ~Service~ Very little service interaction between ordering and leaving. You line-up at the counter and receive a buzzer for your order. If you have a larger party, I recommend having half of the group start scoping tables because it's first come, first served. When your food is ready, you can pick it up from a window across the room, along with utensils, napkins, and various condiments. At the end of your meal, you can help yourself to to-go boxes on either side of the room. ~Atmosphere~ Located right along the beach and within walking distance from the Pier, Wooly's has a tourist feel to it. Looking at the reviews, it seems like it's mostly tourists that dine-in but it makes sense because who wouldn't want to eat on the patio with such an amazing view of the ocean? The indoor dining is open-air so you can feel the nice sea breeze but there were a lot of flies and some even landed on our food. Kind of gives it a dive bar feel...but the food was delicious so it didn't matter to me. ~Logistics~ Located right next to the beach, there doesn't seem to be any dedicated parking for the restaurant. I honestly wouldn't even try to drive down towards the restaurant and you'll be better of trying your luck in one of the paid lots a couple of blocks away. We only had to pay $6 an hour, which was more than enough time for our lunch. ~Conclusion~ Overall, I enjoyed pretty much everything we ordered. Highly recommend if you're in the area for something quick and easy! read more
We loved dining at Wooly's! The food was so delicious! Our family had: the chicken sandwich, fried cheese curds, burgers, wedge salad, and onion rings. Everything was bomb! We go to woollies a lot we're from out of town so when I see a lot meaning about once or twice a year.. it's nice because you can take your dog and they have dog water for them. This time I got a wedge salad and it was really good. We also ordered fish tacos. Everything was good and refreshing. There's always more people eating than there is seating. So it's good to find a seat first before you go up and order. If that's a possibility. read more
Fish and chips were great! I really enjoyed the tartar sauce and the waffle fries too. I feel like you don't usually come across waffle fries when ordering fish and chips, so this was a fun twist! Employees were really nice and helpful (I had a hard time finding where to pick up my order, but it's right across from where you order.) You can choose to sit inside or outside as well, since you need to order your food first and then find your own spot to sit. As this restaurant is right by the pier, it can get pretty crowded. We saw several kids running around loose and bumping into people, which got quite annoying. read more

Is it pet friendly?
Yes! We go here with our Doberman. There is usually water bowls for the dogs and they even have a menu for the dogs.
Can someone post the gluten free menu? I took a picture of it a few months back and can't find it.
They changed the menu and the only gluten free things are the salads

Yes, kale salad, wedge salad, cauliflower appetizer.

No Heated as far as I Know- but we were seated indoors with a great view.
Can someone confirm Wooly's seating hours? I work in fire and we finish shift around dark. I'd made reservations at Oyster Loft a while ago and realized upon seating that Wooly's was still open at almost 8 PM. Yelp says 11-6, site says 11-close?
