We tried Wooly's for the first time last night and unfortunately, it will probably be our last. We usually go to Cool Cat Café or Splash Café for their clam chowder, but since we visit Pismo often, we wanted to try something new. The photos online (and even how the food looked in person) were really appealing, but the taste didn't match. The food was very bland overall. I ordered the asada fries they weren't terrible, but they weren't good either. It just felt like a mix of ingredients thrown together without much flavor or thought behind it. My husband ordered the calamari and chips, and his experience was similar very bland, and the fries were cold. My kids said their meals were just okay. My son had the fish and chips and mentioned that at least the fish tasted fresh. The atmosphere was decent. We did have to ask for our table to be cleaned, but the staff took care of it quickly once we mentioned it. Overall, I think the biggest improvement would be focusing on adding more flavor to the food.

The vibes at this place especially during sunset are amazing. The outdoor seating is first come first serve so if it's busy you'll have to awkwardly standby waiting for people to leave. It's probably best to wait until you have a table before ordering because the food is pretty quick. The food was good, the chowder was a little cold and thick for my son's liking but my salad and a cold beer were good.

Wooly's fish & chips was expertly prepared to be served hot and fresh. The fish is cooked to a crispy perfection and paired with our signature waffle fries.

We go to woollies a lot we're from out of town so when I see a lot meaning about once or twice a year.. it's nice because you can take your dog and they have dog water for them. This time I got a wedge salad and it was really good. We also ordered fish tacos. Everything was good and refreshing. There's always more people eating than there is seating. So it's good to find a seat first before you go up and order. If that's a possibility.

Great place to hang out with friends, the vibes are chill and the views are great. The food was pretty good definitely not the best, but for the price and the ambiance it's worth it.

This is a great casual spot right on the beach in the center of Pismo Beach by the pier. My family enjoyed it so much during our stay that we went twice in 2 days! It's very casual, you order at the counter and then pickup your food when it's ready. You can order drinks at a separate counter and they have nice selection of beers on draft. We ordered a variety of items on both visits and everything was delicious. The stand outs were the Seafood Roll and the Fisherman sandwiches. Highly recommend for anyone swinging through Pismo, I would go back on my next visit.

We were at the pier during lunch time and saw this place. Found a table easily and placed the order. They have counter service here. Fish and chips were ok. The fries were the better of the two. Onion rings were nice and crunchy. Chicken Sandwich was good. Cauliflower bites were also surprisingly good. Service was friendly. Overall a good option if you are at the pier.

Stopped in for breakfast before walking on pier & beach. When you get there- order food on one side and drinks on other side. You get a vibrating caller and find a seat . There's a window to pick up your food. I got a breakfast burrito so did hubs and they were huge, kids got a dish to share- breakfast nachos, & granddaughter got classic cheese crisp. Great food and place to eat.

Every single time it's always delicious! Love sitting at the bar. Great service. Food is always hot. Beautiful views.

Highly recommended spot at Pismo Pier so we came by @5 for dinner. Counter service & find a table - we ordered the clam chowder in bread bowl which was outstanding (they even toasted the top of the bread bowl) & fish n chips w/waffle fries- delicious! Food came out quick, Portions were great & reasonable prices. Great location too! We will be back.

Great Food, Sunset Views & Extremely Dog-Friendly! We had a fantastic experience at Wooly's in Pismo Beach. The restaurant is located right on the pier with beautiful ocean views, making it an absolutely perfect spot to enjoy a meal--especially at sunset. Wooly's has a great happy hour, and we loved that they are very dog-friendly, allowing dogs on the patio and even offering a dog menu. That alone earns big points in our book! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming--not just to us, but to our dogs as well. While our pups can get a little excited and bark occasionally when they see other dogs, the staff was kind, understanding, and genuinely happy to have them there. We always do our best to make sure they don't disturb other guests, and the team handled everything with warmth and professionalism. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. We ordered burgers, chips with salsa and guacamole, plus beer and wine--and everything hit the spot. Of course, we also ordered beef patties from the dog menu, and our dogs were absolutely in heaven. Between the delicious food, friendly service, dog-friendly atmosphere, and watching the sun set over the ocean, this was a truly enjoyable experience. Perfect location, great vibes, and a wonderful time overall. We will definitely be back!

We had a great lunch here on the patio on a Wednesday. Since it was a weekday it was not hard to get a table, and we were able to have our dog on the patio with us! If you sit on the patio, you do have to go inside to order and pickup your food, so one of us had to stay with the dog while the other ordered. They had water bowls available on the patio for dogs and even a dog menu! We got our dog a pup patty. For lunch I had the side salad with blue cheese and a cup of clam chowder. The side salad is a large portion, but I wasn't a huge fan of their blue cheese. The clam chowder portion was a bit small, and it was okay clam chowder, maybe a bit light on the seasoning. My husband had the Fisherman sandwich, which he found to be a little too sweet. Overall not the best food, but a great view!

Decent for a quick drink and dessert, they do have a happy hour here. You order everything at the counter and food and drink counters are separate. Indoor and outdoor seating available, no heat lamps outdoors but there is clear paneling to shield you from the wind.

I forget. Fruit cocktail with banana and other stuff

    Yes.

Can someone confirm Wooly's seating hours? I work in fire and we finish shift around dark. I'd made reservations at Oyster Loft a while ago and realized upon seating that Wooly's was still open at almost 8 PM. Yelp says 11-6, site says 11-close?

We originally made our reservation for 7:30 p.m.... we then decided we wanted to perhaps change it to 6:30. We called ahead and hopes that they could accommodate us. They said they couldn't promise anything but they would try. We showed up around 6:15. And they sat us down around 6:35. We had a beautiful window seat overlooking the ocean and had a perfect view of the sunset. I forgot our server's name but he was amazing. This place sounds fancy and bougie but it's really not. The food might be, but the vibe is not. There's no dress code. Everything we ordered was soooo tasty and delicious! We ordered fish and chips, baked clams, a wedge salad, and seafood pasta. For drinks we had two mocktails that were just okay. We also got a couple of flour tortillas with some cinnamon butter and a salsa trio. Our server suggested we spread butter inside the tortilla and drizzle our favorite salsa inside. So good. After dinner we decided to walk around the restaurant and appreciate the views. Noticed when checking in the biz cards for vista, ada fish house, rosa. I knew ada from long ago had opened rosa next to them, but did not realize vista was as well! No wonder I chose Vista for the fancy dinner, wanted to try the sand dabs that looked good on the menu and photos. But we actually had 2 sand dabs at Ada's for lunch and it was good to realize I didn't need to eat sand dabs here to see if better, lol!!! Knowing the ada/rosa/vista link, I made sure to try a pasta here, since didn't get to try Rosa's yet, so it was perfect to get a taste of their pasta here! Basically a higher priced Ada's and Rosa's, but I think it's worth it with the fine dining experience and service and the window side table to watch the sunset (reserved ~30 min before day's sunset). Plus the steak here was excellent as well. Did a tasting at Halter Ranch, so it was a pleasure to find their cab here. Brussels Sprouts appetizer was well prepared with playful mix of flavors that made it extra enjoyable. Calamari was incredible, maybe the best I've had. The sauces, oh man... It was my boy's first calamari experience and he was addicted and looking for calamari at every restaurant after this place. It was fantastic Shrimp n crab pasta. Wow that pappardelle was excellent pasta. Was expecting the typical thick dense pasta, but this was thin and delicately delicious papperdelle, very special. I assume Rosa's will be a great place for Italian based on this here! Went for the ribeye medium rare. It came out looking perfectly grilled! And perfectly medium rare. I go to steakhouses almost every time I travel, it's kind of my thing, so I know what a solid experience should look like. We started with the coconut shrimp special, and unfortunately it was undercooked. The shrimp were large and butterflied, but some pieces weren't fully pink inside and still had raw batter, which was a big miss. I also ordered a virgin piña colada with strawberry purée, expecting a blended drink, but it came out over ice and tasted more like a watered-down juice. I don't drink alcohol, so I was really looking forward to something refreshing, and it would've been nice if the server mentioned they don't offer blended drinks. The steak itself was actually not bad--tender, nicely seared, and the sauce on it was really good. That was definitely the highlight. But the sides didn't hold up. The potatoes tasted like they came straight out of a box, and the vegetables were under-seasoned and overcooked. For a place that markets itself as a steakhouse, it just didn't deliver.
