For being in a tourist area and you have to order at the bar yourself and hope you find a table that is the only complaint I had. It was well keep and staff was friendly. the food was really Good. The nachos are huge. The burgers are huge. Let me tell you that if you are looking for a place that will help you get the best bang for your buck, then look no further and come here. My wife and I were walking on the beach and we saw this place. The minute we walked up to the Restaurant there were lots of things on the board but we couldnt find a menu. It wasnt until I walked into the Restaurant that I was able to find a menu. After walking out to the Lanai I gave the menu to my wife and we began looking over it to see if there was anything on it that looked interesting. After about 5 minutes we found food that looked appetizing. We went with the Shrimp Po-Boy and the (O.M.G) Clam Chowder Waffle Fries Skillet. I went up to the front and placed my order and let me tell you that the Staff were very friendly and when I said that I was going to order the Clam Chowder Waffle Fries the cashier said "That IS a great choice" I said I know and I can't wait to eat it. So I got my drinks and walked back out to the Lanai and just waited until the Buzzer vibrated and then it let me know My food is ready. Okay now when I tell you about the OMG Clam Chowder Waffle Fries I really mean it. Well 1, when I got the Skillet the my eyes got really big and my mouth dropped because I couldnt believe how big it was. I brought it out to my wife and she was like, wow, that looks delicious. We ate the Shrimp Po-Boy first and then afterwards we started on the Skillet and just like we thought, it was delicious. Thank you Woolys for a great experience, wonderful staff and Delicious food. My family and I loved visiting Pismo Beach a few weeks ago and decided to stop again on the way home to check out Wooly's for lunch! It's a little beachfront restaurant that offers a little bit of everything! They offer burgers, sandwiches, tacos, salads and plenty of seafood items like steamed clams, Shrimp Po Boy sandwich and Clam Chowder! We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak with Fries, Kids Quesadilla with Fries, Baja Fish Tacos and a side of Veggie Sticks (which were real veggies). Everything was really good - I loved my tacos. They were flavorful and fresh! Wooly's also offers great drinks as well with a giant bar inside! We really loved sitting outside on the patio - it had great views of the boardwalk and ocean! We couldn't have picked a better day to go too - the weather was beautiful! Wooly's is the type of place where you order at the counter and then they bring you your food - staff were still attentive and helpful even after we received our food. DO NOT FEED THE BIRDS! The vibes at this place especially during sunset are amazing. The outdoor seating is first come first serve so if it's busy you'll have to awkwardly standby waiting for people to leave. It's probably best to wait until you have a table before ordering because the food is pretty quick. This is a great casual spot right on the beach in the center of Pismo Beach by the pier. My family enjoyed it so much during our stay that we went twice in 2 days! It's very casual, you order at the counter and then pickup your food when it's ready. You can order drinks at a separate counter and they have nice selection of beers on draft. We ordered a variety of items on both visits and everything was delicious. The stand outs were the Seafood Roll and the Fisherman sandwiches. The restaurant is located right on the pier with beautiful ocean views, making it an absolutely perfect spot to enjoy a meal--especially at sunset. Wooly's has a great happy hour, and we loved that they are very dog-friendly, allowing dogs on the patio and even offering a dog menu. That alone earns big points in our book! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming--not just to us, but to our dogs as well. While our pups can get a little excited and bark occasionally when they see other dogs, the staff was kind, understanding, and genuinely happy to have them there. We always do our best to make sure they don't disturb other guests, and the team handled everything with warmth and professionalism. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. We ordered burgers, chips with salsa and guacamole, plus beer and wine--and everything hit the spot. Of course, we also ordered beef patties from the dog menu, and our dogs were absolutely in heaven. We go to woollies a lot we're from out of town so when I see a lot meaning about once or twice a year.. it's nice because you can take your dog and they have dog water for them. We tried Wooly's for the first time last night and unfortunately, it will probably be our last. We usually go to Cool Cat Café or Splash Café for their clam chowder, but since we visit Pismo often, we wanted to try something new. The photos online (and even how the food looked in person) were really appealing, but the taste didn't match. The food was very bland overall. I ordered the asada fries they weren't terrible, but they weren't good either. It just felt like a mix of ingredients thrown together without much flavor or thought behind it. My husband ordered the calamari and chips, and his experience was similar very bland, and the fries were cold. My kids said their meals were just okay. My son had the fish and chips and mentioned that at least the fish tasted fresh. The atmosphere was decent. We did have to ask for our table to be cleaned, but the staff took care of it quickly once we mentioned it. Overall, I think the biggest improvement would be focusing on adding more flavor to the food. read more

We had a great lunch here on the patio on a Wednesday. Since it was a weekday it was not hard to get a table, and we were able to have our dog on the patio with us! If you sit on the patio, you do have to go inside to order and pickup your food, so one of us had to stay with the dog while the other ordered. They had water bowls available on the patio for dogs and even a dog menu! We got our dog a pup patty. For lunch I had the side salad with blue cheese and a cup of clam chowder. The side salad is a large portion, but I wasn't a huge fan of their blue cheese. The clam chowder portion was a bit small, and it was okay clam chowder, maybe a bit light on the seasoning. Excellent view of the pier and ocean. We decided to stop after seeing the menu. This is a walk up to order and food is separate from the bar. Our food came out quickly and our margaritas were on point. The bartender was quick and generous. I had the clam chowder in a bread bowl and my wife had the chilaquiles with an egg. My chowder had a good amount of chunky clams and vegetables, nice and thick and creamy. The chilaquiles were absolutely the most tasty I've had. ~Food/Drinks~ Clam Chowder Bowl: Can also do cup or bread bowl. Being in Pismo Beach, I was expecting delicious clam chowder and I think Wooly's hit the mark! It was creamy and chunky with the potatoes and clams. A bowl is the perfect amount for sharing. Each order also comes with a bag of oyster crackers. Wedge Salad: Obligatory salad dish to offset all the fried food. I liked that the dressing was on the side because I find most places tend to drown their wedge salad. The candied walnuts were a nice touch too. Cheese Curds: This is a whole pound so it's definitely meant for sharing. I was hoping for the squeaky cheese but it was more like bite-sized pieces of mozzarella sticks. Still good though and I really liked the thick chipotle aioli it came with. You can also ask for ranch when you pick up your food. Philly Cheesesteak: I wasn't expecting much but when it came out, wow, did it look and smell delicious. It was this scramble of rib eye chunks, onions, and bell peppers...all held together by melted cheese. Pretty good! Very messy to eat because everything falls out of the sandwich so get some utensils to finish up. Alaskan Cod Fish n' Chips: Comes with 3 pieces, fried to golden perfection. It's crispy with a flaky, moist middle. So good but I wish the pieces were a little bigger for the price we paid. Each order comes with waffle fries but for $4, you can upgrade to garlic parmesan. Highly recommend and you'll understand why once you smell the garlic! ~Service~ Very little service interaction between ordering and leaving. You line-up at the counter and receive a buzzer for your order. If you have a larger party, I recommend having half of the group start scoping tables because it's first come, first served. When your food is ready, you can pick it up from a window across the room, along with utensils, napkins, and various condiments. At the end of your meal, you can help yourself to to-go boxes on either side of the room. ~Atmosphere~ Located right along the beach and within walking distance from the Pier, Wooly's has a tourist feel to it. Looking at the reviews, it seems like it's mostly tourists that dine-in but it makes sense because who wouldn't want to eat on the patio with such an amazing view of the ocean? The indoor dining is open-air so you can feel the nice sea breeze but there were a lot of flies and some even landed on our food. Kind of gives it a dive bar feel...but the food was delicious so it didn't matter to me. ~Logistics~ Located right next to the beach, there doesn't seem to be any dedicated parking for the restaurant. I honestly wouldn't even try to drive down towards the restaurant and you'll be better of trying your luck in one of the paid lots a couple of blocks away. We only had to pay $6 an hour, which was more than enough time for our lunch. ~Conclusion~ Overall, I enjoyed pretty much everything we ordered. Highly recommend if you're in the area for something quick and easy! read more

Fish and chips were great! I really enjoyed the tartar sauce and the waffle fries too. I feel like you don't usually come across waffle fries when ordering fish and chips, so this was a fun twist! Employees were really nice and helpful (I had a hard time finding where to pick up my order, but it's right across from where you order.) You can choose to sit inside or outside as well, since you need to order your food first and then find your own spot to sit. As this restaurant is right by the pier, it can get pretty crowded. We saw several kids running around loose and bumping into people, which got quite annoying. read more

You go on in the restaurant & order at the counter, then pick up your food when ready. In the mean time, you look for a table on your own, and the views are breathtaking! Stopped by here on Memorial Day for a quick bite and was surprised at how good it was and reasonably priced. You order first and pay then someone brings your order to you. Beef quesadillas 9/10 it was really good and I would definitely order it again. I was surprised at how full it was and that it had a lot of flavor, I wasn't expecting much but it definitely surprised me. Downside is they don't have hot salsa. Waffle fries 4/10 not the most amazing waffle fries and lacking salt but okay enough if you have a craving, I dipped mine in ranch.
