Boozy root beer and a taster
Eric F.

Came by for some drinks on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered their boozy root beer. This is made with their own nonalcoholic root beer and grape based liquor. Drink tasted great and I'll definitely order it again. Weird thing is their pricing. $14.53+tax for their boozy root beer. $9.29+tax for a pint of their IPA. Strange before tax pricing. Staff was friendly and welcoming. This is a small place with most of the seating outside.

We came here after a morning of ATVing and all of the staff were so great! They loved our pup and even brought him a treat! I had a flight so I could try a variety of options. We also shared the pepperoni and cheese stuffed soft pretzel and the fried pickles. The pretzel is one of their top sellers for a reason! It was nice and cheesy and came with a marinara for a dip. The pickles were spears, but sliced extra thin - I think this is my new way of enjoying fried pickles because it stays crispy!

We had just arrived to Pismo after a good 3.5 hour drive. We went in thinking the place would be busy, but it was pretty dead. The staff were nice, but when taking order the waitress was literally walking away before we were even done ordering. My husband had the IPA but said it tasted watered down and not the very best beer he had. I had a hard cider which was poured straight out of a can. The food was okay. The pretzel sticks were really good though. But if you're looking for a brewery type ambience with good drinks, this ain't it.

Where is the 6th and 7th star? Gabe is a great beertender. Knew his products well. Was able to point me to the beer that aligned with my preferred style. Great conversations while I enjoyed my beer (and then a 2nd!). Walked out with a bag of beers to bring home and enjoy. For a beach area, I thought the pricing was fair, more of a locals hangout than a tourist trap.

Stopped by this brewery on walk. Cute cozy friendly place. Cathy was amazing and knows her stuff. We had the house special and it didn't disappoint. GF likes IPA so she had the special that included peanut butter but you could not taste it at all. She totally enjoyed it. I had the Hard Root beer which had a mixture of cinnamon, whisky, and root beer. It's was a bit on sweet side but good. It's a sneak up on you drink. Thanks Cathy for the liquid lunch. Will be back for that Orange beer special.

Really loved this place. From the moment we walked in the staff was helpful and friendly. They are dog friendly. Thanks to the staff for being so nice to our dog and even giving her a blanket to lay on. Parking might be a little tricky since it's street parking and it gets crowded. We had some fish and chips to snack on and they were delicious. We will definitely be returning if we are in town.

My girlfriend and I stopped by Pismo Brewery, and Valerie was our awesome bartender! She was incredibly friendly, and filled us in on all the best spots in the area. When we asked about ciders, she suggested trying their delicious selection - the lemon ginger and rosé were perfect choices based on our preferences. We definitely plan on returning to visit her again. Valerie was the best!

Who puts whole cut cherry tomatoes and red onions?!? If you love watered down beer, or you love water, or you love beer that taste like water then you would love the beer here. The only good beer was the whiskey barrel beer cause it tasted like whiskey. Lastly the nachos were bad, just plain cold nacho cheese. It was very sad. I wouldn't come here again even if I was paid. This place gets a -6

Valerie and Sonya were the best. So friendly and entertaining. Can't wait to come here again. Thank you for a great time

So, I'm typically pretty generous with my ratings/reviews so I think 3 stars is about right here. The place is very small with just a couple of tables indoors and maybe 5-6 seats at the bar. The outdoor seating is better and it's Pismo so the weather is great for outdoor dining. It was clean with some music pumping from the bar area. The menu is about what you'd expect from a brewery but it's almost entirely frozen food as far as I can tell. There were 7 of us and we all ordered something different. My son ordered a "flatbread pizza" which looked and tasted like something out of a microwave or a bad school lunch. My daughter ordered chicken strips and they were so tough she only at 1. She shared a couple with my son since his pizza was gross and he o it at the breading off one of them because the chicken was so tough to chew. I ordered a burger and I swear it was a generic frozen patty from the freezer aisle at Walmart. Tasteless, bland, and just mediocre. The best thing ordered was my wife's nacho plate. The pulled pork was a bit salty but the nacho cheese tamed that a bit and the chips were fresh and crispy even with the toppings. Would order these again for sure. Service was good but we were the only table seated the entire time we were there while other businesses around us were heavy with traffic. This should have been a sign when we walked up but the overall ratings from other guests made it sound like a great spot. Most breweries have at least average food to pair with their beer offerings but Pismo Brewery was below my expectations.

I don't recommend if you're like me and only like light beers

Customer service was amazing! Great little whole in the wall to still people watch without an insane crowd. Food and drink were worth the stop!

Papi enjoying the patio & fun times at Pismo Brewing!

Wow, what an excellent local brewery! Looking for some…read moreevening bite after a late lunch and this place was nearby where we were staying, so gave it a walk to try it. Seemed to close early, 8pm, for a brewery, but I guess it's a quieter area. Arrived past 7, hoping we can still get food and we were still good for food and beer! Ms. Kristie was so efficient and friendly and awesome, hustling back and forth from reception to seating and dropping by to check on all the patrons. Like a one woman show! I went for the Peanut butter falcon since I like a good brown beer. The peanut butter was initially nice, but it kinda became tiring as the sips went along, since peanut butter seemed a bit much over the beer. Got wife the German Pilsner and that was excellent! Smooth with a hint of malty sweetness too! I am thinking maybe the Lawn Order blonde ale is probably going to be great as well, but too full from late lunch to consume more than one. For food, went with the birria melt and the salmon salad. Birria melt had some awesome authentic flavors to it! Kid devoured it with the consomme. I enjoyed a quarter of it, but too full, so worked out perfect since kid didn't want to share more either, lol. Salmon salad was perfect! Pan seared on both side for that wonderful crust yet tender goodness. Salad dressing with cherry and almond slices made this salad so enjoyable while staying lighter. Was not expecting such salmon from a brewery, excellent food here! Locals seem to love this place too until closing time I guess, since a group that seemed to be bar hopping arrived exceited when we got there too:)

My daughter had the Fish & Chips (yep, same amazing fries) and loved it, and my other daughter went for the cheeseburger. Everything was delicious and the portions were HUGE. We ate outside, and there's a ton of seating which made it super chill. Service was quick, prices were fair, and the menu has so many appetizers and tasty-looking dishes that I'm already planning what to try next. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to!

First time at this restaurant. It's hidden above the hotel, or in the hotel? Super fancy. I wasn't…read morea fan of parking, they didn't seem to have a lot of spaces, or maybe I didn't see that they had more. I'm not sure. I ended up parking on the street. The restaurant has outdoor seating, a bar, and an amazing view. Unfortunately it was a foggy evening. My boyfriend's uncle is a regular there and knows the waiter so we had excellent service. The price is high but the food looked good. Small portions, but it is a fancy restaurant so that's expected. If you're a bougie seafood loving person, then this is the place to go.

You go to a place like SeaVenture Beach Hotel in Pismo Beach with a certain level of trust…read more It's the kind of spot that usually delivers. Ocean out front, solid food, no real surprises. You walk in expecting a good time and most of the time, that's exactly what you get. Which is why this one stings a little. Mother's Day brunch. Prix fixe. Three courses. The kind of setup that should feel special but sometimes ends up feeling like a well-dressed assembly line. We went all in. Party of four, one of everything to start. The heirloom tomato and mozzarella bruschetta was fine. Fresh enough, pleasant enough. But it didn't feel like a celebration. It felt like something you've had before, somewhere else, done the same way. Safe. The ceviche tostadas were the high point early on. Bright, clean, refreshing. Exactly what you expect sitting on the Central Coast with the ocean a few steps away. No complaints there. The Cali deviled eggs were smooth, almost too easy to eat. Avocado mousse, a little jalapeño kick. Thoughtful, balanced. A small win. Then the fried pork belly tacos show up, and on paper, this is the one. This is the dish you circle before you even get there. But the promise doesn't quite land. The pickled onions, carrots, cabbage, all the things that are supposed to cut through that richness, barely show up. You're left wanting more contrast, more intention. Then the mains. My mom gets the shrimp and lobster risotto and suddenly things feel right again. Rich, comforting, the kind of dish that keeps you going back for another bite even when you're full. She loved it, and that matters. My dad goes with the stuffed baked eggplant and is completely happy. No notes, no complaints. Just quietly enjoying his plate, which honestly says a lot. I order the seared salmon, trying to be responsible, maybe even a little healthy. And it shows. Too much. It's clean, sure. But it's also forgettable. Somewhere along the way, someone decided that healthy means dialing everything back. It doesn't have to. It shouldn't. My fiancée gets the braised short rib, and this is where the kitchen reminds you what it can do. Tender meat, crispy potato, creamy polenta. Thought-out, satisfying, the kind of plate that feels finished. Dessert rolls in, and by now you're hoping for a strong close. Chocolate avocado mousse. Interesting idea, lands somewhere in the middle. Then, a huge slice of strawberry cheesecake that does exactly what it's supposed to do. Sweet, familiar, comforting. No risks, no regrets. And that's kind of the story of the whole meal. Nothing terrible. Plenty that's enjoyable. But for a place you trust, on a day that's supposed to feel a little more special, it never quite gets there. You leave full. You leave fine. But for the first time in a while, you also leave thinking you might have been happier somewhere else. And that's not something you expect to feel walking out of Sea Venture
