Folks are calling them out in their Instagram comments, but they passed the blame to "the host," whatever that means. And then they use it for a hiring flyer. The effort level displayed here is probably reflective of other parts of the business, and their refusal to pay an artist is probably indicative of how they treat their staff. the location is great, i love the back area by the trees. though i feel like they should have outside games like darts or cornhole. some other tables other than the small ones between chairs would be nice when ordering more than one thing. we ordered a salad, fish/chips, mini corn dogs, burger and two beers. the server came and tried to squeeze it all on one tiny table instead of offering another small end table from the completely empty back patio lol. my fork and knife fell on the ground because it was all cramped. they had a large group and let us know food would be about an hour, and it literally was an hour. would have been nice if they had something to snack on while waiting an hour for food. their "fish & chips" are not standard size - they're like fish sticks.... so yeah i feel like it should have a name that communicates the size of the fish pieces. i'd never order that again but the salad was huge and pretty good. read more

Somebody here really knows beers. Had the same beer again at the other location and didn't enjoy it as much, being served in a standard pint glass. This location on Higuera serves beer in a Pilsener glass, which left me with a memorable experience. So, lesson learned. While typically not a big fan of brewery's -more of a Tavern dive bar guy- I truly enjoyed Central Coast Brewery. George the owner is a class act and really enjoyed and appreciates his customers. I felt like I knew him forever after a few minutes. His staff was responsive and cheerful and really made this old fart and his wife feel appreciated. I don't get into SLO often leaving it to the Polly students but I will come back to visit George and staff. Thank you for the excellent Cerventas (sp) beer. They've got some pretty good beers too, the El Hefe was one of the best Hefs I've had in a while and their Golden Glow blonde was a perfect thirst quencher after a long morning of running. The restaurant/brewery itself is pretty big too. Outdoor seating in the front and back, some big tables inside that hold a groups of 8-10 people. And arcade room near the back outdoor seating area. Such a fun place to hangout! I used to go to the smaller CCB which I still love, but this larger spot is great for big groups. There are different seating areas and the beer and food selection is great, I also love that there is an arcade room. I've come here for celebrations, after work outings, or just a quiet Sunday afternoon and it's always fun! This was our last stop of the day before we checked into our hotel and it was a great experience. Plenty of space, nice staff, we got a taster of various beers that were all good, we wound up taking some growlers home with us. It seemed cool with the families to bring their kids if they wanted, they had games and an outdoor area to chill at. The TV's in the bar were all showing various channels for anyone who was there, which is nice, instead of only have two that are usually just sports. We had a great experience here. Oh man! I fell in love with the beer I got at Central Coast Brewing! I got their coconut Schwarzbier that was simply out of this world! Coconut can easily have too much of a presence in certain things but this was balanced out absolutely perfectly! I simply must try some of their other beer options in future. Huge brewery on the outskirts of town. We arrived just after they opened so it was pretty quiet. Dog friendly patio in front and also in back if it's after 2pm for some reason. As for the beer, we liked the Raspberry Sour and the Peanut Butter Stout. Lots of different sizes which we like so you taste more beer! Oh, they have a total of three patio spaces to choose from and a HUGE indoors with games in the back (foosball, air hockey, etc). I love this place! It's located down Higuera street so it's in a quieter part of town and they have a large parking lot. I have been here just to hang out and have a few beers, been here for a party, come for a meal, and even came to play pool in their back game room. SUMMARY: One of many brew pubs in the area with a large indoor (closed due to covid at the time we visited) dining area and a smaller outdoor patio area. Food was not to our liking, beers were good, and the service was excellent. While I believe this should be a 3, the service pushed this over the hump to a 4. BACKGROUND We decided after a few months of Newsom confinement, that we needed to get out of town. We camped in the area and came to this brew pub for dinner and drinks. DRINKS - 4/5 We both got beers, wife got dark beer while I got a lighter beer. As we didn't know what to order and wanted to know what they recommended, the waiter recommended two brews which we both enjoyed. I can't recall exactly what I ordered, but I ordered from their many pilsner choices and the waiter chose well for me. FOOD - 2/5 We were in a steak / beef mood and so we ordered two things to split. Steak tacos and steak salad. They looked delicious when they brought it out, but the steak was cold and tough. Since we ate the salad first, we were surprised that the steak was cold...and tough. While I know that some places serve cold steak on salads, we were a bit aghast that the taco meat was cold. I don't know if they just simply took some of the cold tough steak from the salad and dished it on the tacos, but it sure did taste like it. We were so hungry though that we ate it nonetheless, but we weren't happy after we left. SERVICE - 5/5 We were sat in on part of the patio on the high stools/counter area, but my wife wasn't very comfy (she's short), so we asked the server if we could move to the chairs in front of the restaurant. He was more than accomodating and moved us with no fuss. He was also very attentive. We should've let him know about the cold tough steak, but that would've meant we would've had to have both meals replaced---and we were just happy to have food and ate about ¼ of it by the time he came back to check on us. RETURN VISIT? Hmmmm tough call. If we were in the area, we'd come back for the drinks but definitely not for the food. Never had a taco with cold, tough meat. read more
