    Stellar beer!
    Kevin K.

Super friendly beertender, knew the product very well. Really enjoyed her suggestion - Feather, Bones, Chimes & Eternal Rest (Vanilla). I am not normally a fan of vanilla but in this one, it brought a subtle sweetness and lightened the body. Very delicious! Art work on the walls was as cool as their usual can art. I will need to come back next trip to see whats new! Already looking forward to it.

This place is so cool. I love all the dark art that's in such a beautiful building. The server was really nice and greeted us as soon as we walked in. They don't have a huge selection but what they have is absolutely amazing.

Hands down one of the best breweries in SLO County. TDNE has phenomenal beers all around, but their lagers, pilsners, and farmhouse ales are really the stars of the show. Every time we're in town, we're greeted by friendly & knowledgeable staff, chill tunes, and a nice modern environment to relax with good conversation and even better beer. I like that they offer full pours or half pours and also have a decent to-go selection on site. If you haven't been, stop in, you'll be happy you did!

There Does Not Exist is an absolute labor of love for craft beer fans to enjoy on the Central Coast. I've tried many fantastic beers made in this county over many years, but since trying TDNE for the first time in 2020, they absolutely take the cake when it comes to the best varietal beers top to bottom in this county. Max's talent as brewmaker shines with every sip. Whether it's a low ABV Kolsch, a higher ABV IPA, a middle of the road Pale Ale, or even a strong dark ale like Feathers, Bone Chimes & Eternal Rest - everything made here is easily drinkable & enjoyable. Max spent several years earlier in his career within the industry brewing for the county heavyweight at Firestone Walker before starting this brewery where he & his team are now showcasing phenomenal smaller batch craft beers. They have an unassuming micro brewery persona to the naked eye, yet they've collaborated with some large scale breweries in the industry including Cellarmaker, Humble Sea, Green Cheek, Cloudburst, Altamont, Horus Aged Ales, Firestone Walker, Casa Agria, Riip, Everywhere, and Liquid Gravity (another SLO favorite). I personally am a hazy fanatic (I know - eye roll) and I'd argue (biases aside as a big fan & SLO resident) that several of their Hazy IPA's hold a candle to other elite CA breweries known for Hazies. DDH Light Lost, Star God, and Star & Stone are hazy IPA's that I'd put in the same realm + weight class of flavor/balance/velvety mouthfeel as breweries like North Park, Green Cheek, Moonraker, Alvarado Street, Fieldwork, Monkish, and others. It's nice to have the luxury as a SLO resident and to be able to grab fresh IPA's on a draft system of this caliber by just driving 5 minutes from our home. My wife & I also rave about their mastery of simpler, easier drinking beers like their Sowing the Sun Kolsch ($3 on Sunday's!) and their Stag West Coast Pale Ale. Their location on Earthwood Ln matches the unorthodox nature of their name which I find symbolic of their mystique. This is also evident in their branding + marketing approaches. The taproom is perched away from Downtown SLO behind the Trader Joe's parking lot without a formal entry sign. When you enter the taproom it's modern, sleek, minimal, and has it's own simple/refined personality. It trades some cliche items you see at other breweries such as TV's on the wall & trades these items for large murals that match the detailed art you see displayed on their cans. These illustrations to me personally are reminiscent of the upside down in Stranger Things - dark, detailed, and portray elements of the unknown. This is not your average brewery footprint, and I think many local's here have come to love it that way. It's a one of a kind experience where the beer and the purveyors behind it speak for itself. As a local, I couldn't be more thrilled to have discovered TDNE when I did. Many SLO friends of mine share the same sentiment that we're extremely fortunate to have a talented SLO native like Max behind this concept. This is especially true given the lack of this level of operation being available before their existence without having to drive up the Cuesta Grade or down the 101 South. We are extremely thankful for their consistently gracious staff over the years (Mitch, Kelly, so many others) that have poured us (+ our friends & family) many amazing beers with plenty of pillowtops over the years. The welcoming nature of the staff keeps us coming back as much as anything else over the years and speaks volumes to the people they choose to bring in & work behind the counters as part of their family. TDNE has quickly become the gold standard for beer made right here in SLO Proper, and I'm so glad they do exist in this town. I look forward to them carrying forward their well respected flag that they've earned within the craft beer industry as they continue push forward, innovate, and do things their way. Thank you for being the incredible asset + representative that you are for San Luis Obispo.

TNDE is ALWAYS killing it. The beer here is phenomenal. The space is so clean and relaxing with great music. The staff are always so friendly and knowledgeable on beer. The only thing I've ever been bummed about is that they opened right after we moved from the area. We would have been here all the time, but now we always make them a stop when passing through or staying in town. I'm a big fan of their lagers, saison and mixed-ferm beers, but I've had a few of their IPA's over our visits and they are solid too. I will say the list was pretty IPA heavy overall (5/30/24), but the Magick Makes The Circle saison and 11.5° pilsner were quite solid. Caution: Crushing Hazard was so good, we had to take some home. If you're looking for good beer in SLO, this is a must stop.

I'm in the area for a week and this was my first stop. I've been drinking their Memory Machine IPA on tap at The Bistro in Hayward and it's one of my favorites. It's a beautiful looking brew pub. Classy. The beer tender was super friendly and fun to chat with. I got a pint of their Infinite End Cold IPA. It's a lighter, easy drinking style; very tasty. I was a little disappointed that this was the only IPA they had in a 4-pack, as I was looking forward to trying some of the other IPA's. Guess I'll be forced to make another visit, ha, ha...

Is it a library or a brewery? My friend P and I (plus another pal) were doing a tour of beer spots around his new home town and we hit TDNE next-to-last. We found a quiet, clean, modern space at the edge of a little industrial park. There was a study group in one corner and several scattered people on laptops and books in another corner. Quietness. We spotted four kinds of wood inlay on the walls and giant murals of modern, black/white psychedelic art. I also caught a European vibe, though I can't pinpoint why. So far so great. There's no food here. But that is advertised up front. It's doesn't feel like a place you hang all afternoon anyway; Just a place to grab one and chat, which is what we did. (Though I wondered if the study group was imbibing; I couldn't do it). As for the beer, I've been a big fan since I discovered them a few years ago. Fantastic. My draft IPA (Two Moon Ritual) was delicious and dank - easily my best beer of the day. I actually stopped by the next day to get some 4-packs to go home with me. The beer i had from the previous day was not a choice, but the cans I bought have been great too; I've been slowly savoring them since.

Best local beer in town!!! Love their hazys and just about everything else they make is done with precision and care! Haven't tried a beer of theirs I don't like! Very cool spot and great place to hang out.

Stopped by yesterday making the trek back from the Firestone Walker Invite. Have been buying TDNE cans locally for quite a while now, followed the various brewing related podcasts they've been on and knew it was a must stop if we had the chance. The tasting room area is beautiful with all the artwork and openness. There was a pretty good sized crowd and everyone was having a great time. 100% will be back

We arrived at 6:30 pm, which was a good time since the food and drink lines grew from 6:50 pm onwards. I recommend heading out 10 minutes early in case you get lost. Our rideshare drove past the alleyway entrance twice lol. They didn't see the small printed sign for Bang The Drum Brewery on the metal fence. Go down the alley and turn left, following the signs for Bang the Drum at Suite 160 (not 130). Then, walk up the ramp towards the foresty tree area; there will be another sign for the brewery. We saw an outdoor patio and several indoor tables with names printed on them for trivia night. No one checked our tickets, but the staff we interacted with were nice. Walk-ins for trivia night can claim any unmarked table. Luckily, our table was far back so I didn't need to use my ear plugs. It would have been too loud for me if we were next to the speakers. I enjoyed the event and didn't have problems with the logistics. My only complaint would be that questions were much harder than I thought. Many references were geared towards the older millennial generation. DRINKS ORDERED - Pinot Noir ($12 - Stephen Ross). It was good. Normally I don't like dry wines, but I appreciated the light body without tannins. The wine had dark cherry notes. - Rose ($10). It was just okay; I preferred the pinot over this. - Kelsey Blood Orange Cider ($9). It had a good balance of fruit and bitterness with a savory taste. The cider was dryer than I expected, but I enjoyed it more than the other one. - Kelsey Pineapple Cider ($9). It was just ok. I didn't taste the pineapple, but it was slightly sweeter than the blood orange. My bf seemed to enjoy his Lucky Day IPA ($8) and also went for the pinot. FOOD ORDERED - Soft Pretzel with Beer Cheese ($6.50). Chewy pretzel with a dark crust and big sprinkles of salt (but not too salty). The beer cheese tasted great; we ate it all up! - Spicy Veggie Curry Pot Pie ($10). The pie was ultra flaky and soft. I enjoyed the mild curry filling inside. Delicious! DESSERT ORDERED - Blueberry Mascarpone Pie ($5.50). It tasted alright. The blueberries were not so flavorful, and neither was the mascarpone cheese. There was too much moisture in the filling. While parts of the crust managed to stay crumbly, it also lacked flavor.

I don't know if it was because of the soccer game or if it's always this busy, but that's usually a good sign. Even with the crowd, our party of six was seated almost immediately. The menu was excellent--not one of those places with ten pages of random items. It was well thought out and made it easy to choose. My wife and I both ordered the jalapeño burger (I can't remember the official name) with a side of tater tots. My son ordered the tuna, my daughter had the chicken tenders, and my nephew and niece both went with the barbecue burger. The food came out surprisingly fast, and then it was time to eat. Wow. This was easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. My wife would not stop talking about hers. Her exact words were, "This burger tastes beefy." I'm still not exactly sure what that means, but judging by how fast she finished it, I'd say she absolutely loved it. To top it all off, our amazing waitress surprised my wife with a complimentary cookie sundae for her birthday. I really wish I had caught her name. She had curly hair and glasses, and she was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I was not impressed with their margarita flight but who cares, it was about the food. If you're looking for an incredible burger, great service, and a fun atmosphere in San Luis Obispo, Finney's Crafthouse is definitely worth the visit. Before even getting the drink, I got the check and closed out since I was waiting for a table. After waiting a couple of minutes, I finally got a table so I decided to close out while my drink was still getting prepared. When it came out, I took it to my table but it was not good. I told the waitress that it wasn't good and ordered a different drink and she delivered it but didn't tell me that I was going to get charged for it (and that was after I had asked if I was getting charged for it). After I told the waitress, she said she had to talk to her manager and luckily they took it off the bill. In terms of the food, it was okay. The lights were really dim so I felt as if I was eating in the dark.
