If you're not a regular don't expect them to treat you well. If the regulars don't like you, they will make it uncomfortable. While we were there, someone peed in the hallway to the bathroom and the bartender didn't care. We are locals but refuse to step foot in this bar again. They also allow smoking inside so it does stink. read more

Great local dive bar to visit with friends, nothing fancy, all the bartenders have fast hands and serve you very fast. There's a juke box for you and your friends to pay and choose songs to dance too or enjoy a couple rounds of pool. A really good spot to just hang out and get a decent drink. read more

It's a dive bar. Went in on a Tuesday afternoon. There's a patio out back to share a drink if the weather's nice. The inside is a little depressing. The bartender, and bar patrons weren't particularly friendly, but certainly not hostile. Beer was $7 for a pint of draft, so not great, but not terrible. There's pool tables, and a jukebox, and no food service, so it's straight down the middle, average. I guess, if you live in another part of the state, or country and didn't know Atascadero you could romanticize it, but I live here, and like most places here, this just misses. read more

Was here locally visiting friends when we brought over here. Probably one of my favorite bars I've been too in a very long time. Locals were super friendly and open and very talkative and a great atmosphere to have some drinks play a few games of pool and make some new friends. Who is June? I have never met her. But I have met her co-owner, Whiskey, and it is good. Probably one of the only places in the Central Coast where you can get a wide variety of whiskeys. One of my favorite "dive" bars. The staff is always friendly and the patrons are usually friendly and open for a conversation. There are a lot of regulars that you see here if you visit often. They have a juke box and pool tables making it fun for everyone that wants to stay a while. The drinks are reasonable and usually have decent pours. Warning...do not set foot in here if you aren't a local. Rudest people ever working there and the local patrons. My friend & walked in on a Sunday evening and decided to shoot some pool. There was no one at either table. I put in 4 quarters to release the balls. As soon as I started racking the balls two local guys came in from out back and started yelling at us saying that was their pool table! HUH? There was no one there and we put our $ in to play. We were visiting from Ohio and stopped in for a cocktail after hearing about it on YouTube. This place is an old, local bar, with most people drinking beer and watching TV. But, ask for a cocktail menu so you don't miss the fabulous drinks. My husband and I had an Old Fashioned--made with Buffalo Trace bourbon! My state borders the bourbon state and we can barely get Buffalo Trace, and here we were drinking it in these tasty Old Fashioneds. The Negronis were equally as good. We ordered 2 drinks and this was the highest bill we have ever gotten at Whiskey June's.(38) We were just there a few days ago and ordered the exact same drinks and it was so much cheaper ??? Not sure what is happening, but she was not as friendly and took forever to make our drinks and they weren't as good as normal. What's with the prices? They are all over the place?? I was there on Feb 10 th. Fabulous music. Great food. Really lovely people. Drove several hours to see this quartet and it was worth it.

This is a dive bar to the fullest! And we loved it! Nothing is updated, but it's totally charming. A rougher crowd of locals but everyone was friendly with us. The bartender she was fabulous and poured stiff drinks and was fun to watch her easily handle a large rowdy crowd all on her own with a smile on her face. Big outdoor seating area out back. We came in on Friday night after passing by it for months. We're fairly new here, and we have missed being able to go out for drinks at night. We don't need fancy, just somewhere that feels fairly comfortable and serves good cocktails. Here's the truth: I loved it. Yes, it's a local bar. I think it might look like a dive from the outside, but that's ok. Inside is welcoming, friendly, an comfortable. Yes, you can show up in jeans and a t-shirt and no one is going to care! There was one moment for about the first 30 seconds we were in the place that I felt a little intimidated and out of sorts by the men playing pool in the back, but that didn't last long. We found freshly cleared spots at the bar, settled in, and ordered. It is weird being the new people, sometimes...especially here in Atascadero where everyone seems to know everyone else. We definitely felt the side-eye from a few people when we first arrived who apparently aren't used to 40-something newcomers, but whatever. The drinks were good, even great when we're talking about the whiskey sour we ordered for the second round. I didn't catch the bartenders names, but they were both fantastic, friendly and efficient. I liked the atmosphere, and we even got to chat with some other local people while we were there, which was great. We'll definitely come back. It's nice knowing there's a place like this that is actually open until 2am right in our town! read more

This would be a great bar if someone didn't get into a fight nearly every time I've been there. It's a dive, and in any civilized town, that would mean an eclectic collection of characters sharing a drink and a bit of conversation . But this is Atascadero, so it means that this is happening, but there's generally a faint aura of desperation and menace hanging in the air. Sometimes this bubbles over and there's violence. 2-11-2023 Kayla the bartender committed alcohol fraud. She changed the amount she charged for the drinks over and over last night. People's totals went from 26-38 without explanation. She is taking advantage of patrons. Most importantly Kayla committed an assault/battery last night and she wasn't arrested. She literally threw an entire drink in a woman's face and then grabbed the phone and dialed 911. We could hear her tell the dispatch lies that she was in need of emergency assistance as she had a disgruntled customer. Of course the women attacked by her actions were furious, we all were. Kayla is a toxic person on any working day and she's a fat lawsuit waiting to happen. She was only nice to the 3-4 guys that came to the end of the bar throughout the night. Love it. This place is so local that all the dudes in this place want to kick your *ss as soon as you walk in. Shuffle board, a couple pool tables, strong drinks and low lights.
