Oldest bar in the area so we had to stop in. Cute western bar with plywood floors and an area for a band and a couple pool tables. Bartender was a really nice girl, pretty young and didn't seem to know too much about the history of the bar so when I ask a couple of questions, she walked over to an older gentleman who seemed to know everything about the bar, (he was instructing the bartender which lights to turn on and which lights to turn off, etc.,) but he was much more interested in doing shots with his friends so that was little disappointing, but we did get our questions answered. Apparently once a year, just to honor the old traditions, they allow people to ride their horses up to and even in the bar. Really fun. Google says it's haunted and the bartender said she never had any experiences with the old guy drinking with his friends didn't have anything to say about anything. It could be made into something very, very cute and nostalgic, but it's just a bar and I didn't think it was much worse going to. I come to Pine Street regularly and normally have a great experience with the bartenders, but unfortunately my experience with a bartender that I had never seen before last night was extremely disappointing. My friend and I ordered two simple canned drinks a Corona and a Suncruiser and were told the total was $13. I handed the bartender exactly $13 in cash and even counted it in front of her. When I asked, "Are we good?" she told me, "No, it's not good." Confused, I asked if I had given her the correct amount, and she confirmed that I had, but again said it "wasn't good." When I asked what the problem was, she responded, "You've never worked in the service industry before, have you?" The clear implication was that she was upset I had not immediately given her a tip. I found the entire interaction incredibly rude, condescending, and unprofessional. A tip is optional and should never be demanded or used as a reason to belittle a customer especially when all the bartender did was hand us two canned drinks. I have worked in customer facing jobs (bartending, serving etc.), and I would never speak to someone this way. I also want to emphasize that this has not been my experience with the other bartenders at Pine Street, who have always been kind and welcoming. I did bring the interaction to a manager's attention because this kind of behavior reflects poorly on an establishment that I otherwise really enjoy going to. Ok, so Wifey loves Ghost Adventures.... plus, we dont live far from Paso Robles and often visit. Wifey was compelled to visit the Saloon and as clunky-historic as it is, it won our hearts and is one of our local "go-to's" whenever we're in town. They typically have a no-nonsense bar tender that pours a quality drink, and if you're in the mood for checking out downtown/park area, all of that fun stuff is within walking distance. A friend and I stopped by for a couple drinks. It was hot as hell on our motorcycle ride, and we took a gamble on this spot. The gamble did not pay off, as what they tried to call service was a joke. We had our leathers on, but we were not clearly a couple OutLaw types. For it being 2026, I was shocked at the looks some of the staff gave our ink. The vibe I was getting is they don't like bikers of any kind here. We didn't stick around long before we took off. Total dive bar, was absolutely not expecting the vibe inside I was expecting a more quiet crowd, I felt old af because I never go to dive bars but it was a fun time. We decided to check out this place since it was the only karaoke bar in town. Let me start off by saying that the hospitable service was the only redeeming factor for this place. I could see how hard the bartenders were working behind the counter to put together drinks. As we were leaving, the gentleman at the door asked us if we were okay getting home. They also offer a car ride service to and from the venue for those who may have had one too many drinks to drink, which I thought was very thoughtful. Now on to the not so great... This is a cash only bar. We paid a $5 cover charge to enter and as we approached the bar, we saw the pro-Trump merchandise for sale lined up along the wall. In addition to the pro-Trump paraphernalia, something about their drinks, especially the lime-based ones, were off. Two of my friends didn't finish their drinks because of it. Never known my friends NOT to finish a drink. With regards to the karaoke, it was a Friday night, and KJ Darkman was hosting karaoke. Sound system was up to par, so that was a plus. The issue arose when we attempted to put in a group song under one of our friend's names who hadn't sung yet. We waited for about a hour when we finally heard our song come on (no queue to see who is coming up next). We were taken aback when some other person got called up instead. Apparently, this person had picked the same exact song, but we were not informed of the duplicate entry by the KJ. If there was a duplicate entry, it would have been nice to have been informed, so we could have the opportunity to pick another song. Needless to say, we immediately exited the bar. Service was great, but the selling of political merchandise, the drinks, and the lack of communication from the KJ left a sour taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. I've been working in town for about a month and started coming to this bar frequently because it's by far the funnest karaoke bar I've ever been to. There's all walks of people, they do not discriminate because of race, so please do not listen to people that have said so. If you are offended easily, just stay inside and don't go out. I have always had a great time here. They do get busy and it may take a minute to receive service, but it's busy! The bartenders are doing their best! They have open mic on Monday's where John and Dylan(father son duo) sing along with other talented artists. I love when they have Karaoke inside with a band on the patio, best of both worlds! Be careful. We were warned when having dinner around the corner that it might not be our scene. It was a nice way of saying they probably don't want a Black or Mexican girl in there. The signs on the walls are offensive and they actually let you know they the will offend you in the signage. At first, it didn't seem like much. But it was a very popular recommendation from pretty much all the locals we met at Paso Robles. So we gave it a shot. Wish we knew it was a 'Cash only' place. So make sure to carry cash with you, they do have a ATM as well. So my friend and I got a drink and hung out. The drinks are pretty standard, nothing too crazy. But you can ask for what you like. We met some people and had a good time. It started getting busier around 10ish. That's when the karaoke started. And wow the singers were soo talented, it even got people dancing. The whole vibe of the place changed pretty quickly. It was packed and a lot more people joined in. There was a lot of dancing, good drinks and so many lovely people. It wasn't quiet anymore, the singing and the music livened up the place. There was also a taco station that opened up later. We had such an amazing time here. read more

I ended up staying for at least an hour having an engaging conversation with the bartender, Lisa. I thoroughly enjoyed our talk and her wonderful welcoming hospitality. Worst bar in the county!!! if you're looking for obese and unattractive bartenders to yell at you and be rude and demand cash only while you're spending money, this is the place for you! After ordering multiple drinks for my party I was told I needed to pay immediately or I had to go with over six drinks in my hands though I did not have cash on me. I asked her to please wait till I got to the ATM which she replied. I don't know you and took my drinks back After I went to the ATM for the third time and paid her for the drinks. I told her I'm not gonna steal your drinks. It's just $40 in which case she said I had to leave for being rude then an obese large woman emerged from the back like a crypt keeper and began screaming at me and my friends for us to leave once she realized she had no real authority. She began calling on the patrons of the bar to get involved in which case we almost got into an altercation with multiple locals. Of course, the locals did nothing because this is Paso not LA. She tried to take our drinks to which we laughed in her face and walked out the side and began consuming them which to no surprise were not made well at all. Don't come to this bar nor any other bar in this town if you want my advice, horrible people horrible environment, and they don't take card. My friends and I quickly went to an Italian restaurant and spent $500 on dinner and laughed about how she'll probably have diabetes within three years based on her weight. Friendly staff and friendly crowd but overall experience can be summarized by: - this particular "gem" (photo) inconspicuously shoved behind the cash register - the bouncer's response to my question re: why wouldn't they put that "gem" above the place's entrance instead of cowardly hiding it in the very corner of the liquor shelves - "well if you don't like it then it's not a bar for you". No argument here yet since our party stayed at the corner of the bar opposite from cash register we hadn't have a chance to notice that "call for social unity" until it was time to close our tab. I fully support and honor Voltaire's "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it", just wish that whoever owns this place could have been more transparent with their "friendly attitude " and post the necessary warning at the entrance. Absolutely do not go here. What a waste of time. Cover charge to get in just to be harassed by the staff. Make sure you don't put your drinks down because staff will come around and pick it up and throw it away. Definitely recommend going to a different bar to have fun with your friends. Would never recommend going here if you're trying to have fun. maybe put a sign up to make it clear instead of having people come around and take your drink that we paid for. I usually rather not write a review than write a bad one but this place earned it and it's very unfortunate. Wife and I went to see a band, paid $10 to enter, no problem. The bartender purposely over charged me $80 for a vodka & soda and a double shot of tequila. Outside back patio, they had the band playing right next to portapottys. The portapottys must have been full because the stench was beyond disgusting. It stunk the whole patio, couldn't get away from the thick disgusting smell. Yuck! Inside they had karaoke, at the same time as the band. WTF?!? To the owner: 1) bartender over charging is a problem for you and customers especially at a cash place. 2) band AND karaoke. Come on. Band was good too, sucks for them. 3) Rancid portapotty. Disgusting, disrespectful to the band and paying customers. Don't matter if this was yesterday or 5 month ago. Thank you Pine Street Saloon! First off, one of the only nighttime party places in town. (Cash only). We had an awesome time, played pool, sang karaoke, and downed some Jell-O shots. The bartenders were fast and efficient on a busy Saturday night. Secondly, I list my wallet at the bar and did not realize it until late the next day, after I was home which was 6 hours away! I called the bar and they were so nice and sweet to tell me they had my wallet and would mail it back. I received it today with everything intact. Thank you!!! "Whoa" so a guy walks in a bar to find a horse leaving. I didn't see one but heard and saw pics of it happening. This is a dive bar with some history. Met the owner Ron and got a lil history lesson. He gave me all the options of how one could enjoy this place without leaving by driving. He was anti-DUI and has provided opportunities from a ride-share opportunity to and old school limo to get you safely to your destination. This was an afternoon trip but the clientele was casual and the music was on spot. Found they poured a above averaged drink with relative pricing. I see why this place is a main staple of regular bars downtown. You got to try a neighborhood bar that is surrounded by wanna be upscale crafty bars. If it ain't broken why fix it. Rumor has it the upstairs area is haunted due to being a brothel back in the early 1900's. Enough said there is definitely history and vibe here. read more

the mister and I were strolling past here one day....and whoa...i was beyond curious. I decided that we would end our day here with a nightcap. so after 3 different wineries and a fabulous dinner at Alchemist (up the street) we strolled on over here. Yes i like a perfectly curated cocktail that is instagram worthy...i love a grey goose & soda also. My tastes can be a bit snooty but there is nothing better than a vodka soda at a dive bar. We strolled in..and yup..not all people were wearing masks...but that's not only representative of this bar...it's the town in general. If you're someone who's not comfortable in this environment, I would suggest to go elsewhere. I would not have felt comfortable if I wasn't vaccinted, but I am so what the hell...roll with the locals. We went up to the bar to order and were promptly greeted by a very friendly and energentic lady. I was in the mood for a pear flavored vodka so i asked. she looked behind the bar and could not find any ...but she said would check in back. I told her to not bother and i would order something else but she insisted on looking. wow such amazing and friendly service, even when she had so many other people to tend to! she came back out with the vodka I requested and we both cheered. we got our drinks and found a spot at the end of the bar near the pool tables. There was karaoke going on and that was very entertaining. the people playing pool were even more entertaining. A very drunk cowboy came over and we had an extended conversation about the difference between SLO and Paso. What a hoot!!! We only stayed about 30 minutes b/c i was exhausted and we stumbled back to our hotel... ***NOTE: someone mentioned that this bar was all white folk...hmmm...not when i was there. even mix of races. I am brown...and i experienced great service and friendly conversation from the locals. ok...one female customer was way rude to me...but whatever that could happen anywhere If you're going to go into a bar in a small town...how about respect the bar. You might get better service. This isn't a tourist trap and I doubt they rely on tourism at all If you know Napa..this is the Pancha's of Paso, which equals awesome!!
