We went here to check it out mostly because I just enjoy cool historic locations in general. Total dive bar, was absolutely not expecting the vibe inside I was expecting a more quiet crowd, I felt old af because I never go to dive bars but it was a fun time. We listened to the karaoke singers and enjoyed a beer. I wanted to come back during the day just to look at the inside when it was less insane but we didn't get to do that - maybe next time!

We decided to check out this place since it was the only karaoke bar in town. Let me start off by saying that the hospitable service was the only redeeming factor for this place. I could see how hard the bartenders were working behind the counter to put together drinks. As we were leaving, the gentleman at the door asked us if we were okay getting home. They also offer a car ride service to and from the venue for those who may have had one too many drinks to drink, which I thought was very thoughtful. Now on to the not so great... This is a cash only bar. We paid a $5 cover charge to enter and as we approached the bar, we saw the pro-Trump merchandise for sale lined up along the wall. In addition to the pro-Trump paraphernalia, something about their drinks, especially the lime-based ones, were off. Two of my friends didn't finish their drinks because of it. Never known my friends NOT to finish a drink. With regards to the karaoke, it was a Friday night, and KJ Darkman was hosting karaoke. Sound system was up to par, so that was a plus. The issue arose when we attempted to put in a group song under one of our friend's names who hadn't sung yet. We waited for about a hour when we finally heard our song come on (no queue to see who is coming up next). We were taken aback when some other person got called up instead. Apparently, this person had picked the same exact song, but we were not informed of the duplicate entry by the KJ. If there was a duplicate entry, it would have been nice to have been informed, so we could have the opportunity to pick another song. Needless to say, we immediately exited the bar. Service was great, but the selling of political merchandise, the drinks, and the lack of communication from the KJ left a sour taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. I don't see myself coming back.

I've been working in town for about a month and started coming to this bar frequently because it's by far the funnest karaoke bar I've ever been to. There's all walks of people, they do not discriminate because of race, so please do not listen to people that have said so. If you are offended easily, just stay inside and don't go out. I have always had a great time here. They do get busy and it may take a minute to receive service, but it's busy! The bartenders are doing their best! They have open mic on Monday's where John and Dylan(father son duo) sing along with other talented artists. I love when they have Karaoke inside with a band on the patio, best of both worlds! I have met amazing locals and have new friends when I am in town for work! Entertainment seems to start around 9pm and gets busy around 10pm. If you show up before it will seem very calm...but the storm comes so hold your hats! Fun fun Oh...and they have 2 pool tables if you're into that kind of thing! They are always being occupied, so you may have to wait your turn during the busy times.

What a dive bar should be! They have 'oke and reasonably priced drinks. Pool tables to pass the time.

Be careful. We were warned when having dinner around the corner that it might not be our scene. It was a nice way of saying they probably don't want a Black or Mexican girl in there. The signs on the walls are offensive and they actually let you know they the will offend you in the signage. The native depictions are horrible and the trump hats all over the walls really MAGA hats... sigh. We looked around and waited for a few minutes.... No one asked us to order which was probably by choice. We found a cool spot a couple blocks away called the Rodeo.

At first, it didn't seem like much. But it was a very popular recommendation from pretty much all the locals we met at Paso Robles. So we gave it a shot. Wish we knew it was a 'Cash only' place. So make sure to carry cash with you, they do have a ATM as well. So my friend and I got a drink and hung out. The drinks are pretty standard, nothing too crazy. But you can ask for what you like. We met some people and had a good time. It started getting busier around 10ish. That's when the karaoke started. And wow the singers were soo talented, it even got people dancing. The whole vibe of the place changed pretty quickly. It was packed and a lot more people joined in. There was a lot of dancing, good drinks and so many lovely people. It wasn't quiet anymore, the singing and the music livened up the place. There was also a taco station that opened up later. We had such an amazing time here.

What a fun and cool place to stop and have a drink but the bartender Roxy was the best ! She knows how to make a great cocktail especially the lemon drops. We will definitely come back !!!

2 pm Sun 1/28. Easy free street parking for first 2 hrs (metered parking, just type in license plate). $6 for the can of beer was a good deal. Friendly staff.

    Arthur S.

Friendly staff and friendly crowd but overall experience can be summarized by: - this particular "gem" (photo) inconspicuously shoved behind the cash register - the bouncer's response to my question re: why wouldn't they put that "gem" above the place's entrance instead of cowardly hiding it in the very corner of the liquor shelves - "well if you don't like it then it's not a bar for you". No argument here yet since our party stayed at the corner of the bar opposite from cash register we hadn't have a chance to notice that "call for social unity" until it was time to close our tab. I fully support and honor Voltaire's "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it", just wish that whoever owns this place could have been more transparent with their "friendly attitude " and post the necessary warning at the entrance. Seems like the owner is one money-hungry hypocrite.

Everyone from the hostess, the servers, and the bartenders were super kind. We both got the Short Rib Jalapeño burger, hers was lettuce wrapped. We got side salads instead of fries, she got french onion soup and I got the chili. To start off the salads were good, nothing special but not bad at all. The chili was exceptional, very good flavor, meaty with chunks of ribeye, and a ton of cheese and red onions just how I like it. The French Onion soup was delicious, covered in cheese, and very rich. Now the burgers.....they were phenomenal tbh. The cheese was so melty and mixed with the aioli so nicely plus a little kick from the jalapeño. The patty was cooked nicely leaving it juicy, and the short rib on top was perfect. I would come back for this burger! They have some fun cocktails too, we both got a smoked maple old fashioned. They bring it out with smoke in the glass, you can certainly taste it!

On my first visit (evening), we walked in without a reservation and were quickly seated at the last available table. The place had a lively atmosphere, and it looked like part of the space turns into more of a dance floor later in the night. I had the French onion soup, raw oysters, and the pot pie, all of which were good. The pot pie in particular is something I would recommend. This most recent visit was for lunch on a weekday. There were plenty of open tables, and we were seated right away. Parking was easy, which is typical outside of busy weekends. The experience this time around was more mixed. We wanted to order oysters Rockefeller, but they were completely out of oysters, which was disappointing. I ordered a black and tan, which tasted fine, but it came with a design on top that I wasn't expecting. Not a big deal, just different from what I had in mind. For food, my girlfriend ordered the blackened salmon and said it was good. I went with the corned beef and cabbage. The corned beef itself was flavorful and served over mashed potatoes, which were well done. The cabbage, though, wasn't what I expected. Instead of a more traditional preparation, it was grilled with char marks and topped with au jus. The texture came out a bit rubbery and didn't really absorb the flavor well, which made that part of the dish underwhelming. Service was okay but not great. My water ran empty at one point, and I had to ask for a refill. We also ordered boneless wings as an appetizer and asked for extra ranch, which didn't come out until we reminded the server. The biggest issue, though, was something I noticed from our table with a partial view into the kitchen. An employee had their shoe up on a shelf that appeared to be holding clean dishes, which didn't come across as sanitary. I also saw food being adjusted on a plate by someone who didn't appear to be the cook. I can't speak to what's happening behind the scenes in terms of handwashing or procedures, but visually, it raised concerns. That part of the experience honestly left a bad impression. Between that, the missed items, and some inconsistencies with the food, it changed how I feel about coming back. My first visit had me excited to return, but after this one, I'm not sure I would.

This restaurant came highly recommended, and it absolutely lived up to the praise. When we arrived, the setting was lovely, and we were warmly welcomed by Michelle. She was gracious, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We especially appreciated the personalized place card waiting for us with our reservation. At first, my wife and her friend were a bit unsure as they reviewed the menu, as they didn't immediately see options that appealed to them. However, that quickly changed. Our friend ordered the asparagus salad and croquettes, while my wife chose the rosemary garlic grilled prawns and roasted heirloom carrots. Both dishes completely exceeded expectations--they were blown away by how flavorful and well-prepared everything was. Over the course of our trip, we visited many wineries and enjoyed several excellent meals throughout the Central Coast. Yet by the end of it, both my wife and her friend agreed that this dinner stood out as the most memorable--truly the highlight among many great experiences. Of note, we were never given an option for indoor seating when making our reservation nor when we were seated. After ordering, we received our starter (shishito peppers) within 10 minutes. However once we finished the starter we waited an additional 30-40 minutes for our entrees. There was no communication from the wait staff at all, no refills on water, nothing. In fact in the patio dining area I saw three plates of food (including our peppers) delivered to tables in the hour we had been sitting there. Interestingly the wait staff all seemed very busy and moved around the restaurant but not much appeared to get done. Having worked in hospitality previously I have a lot of empathy for the staff as they seemed to lack direction and management support. My husband ordered the mushroom and scallop pasta. It was okay. Overpriced, but was tasty. I ordered the chile relleno and steak. The chile relleno was filled with a large amount of corn that tasted freezer burnt. My steak was thin and grey and overcooked. It was nearly all grey inside with a couple spots of pink. It wasn't seasoned either. The sauces on the plate were good. Our server was polite and did take it off the menu. However, no manager ever came by to check on us or any other table on the patio in the time we were there. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews. It was a real let down to have a lackluster food and service experience at "one of the nicest places" in Paso.
