We had such an incredible experience at Alchemists' Garden celebrating my husband's birthday! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. Our server, Danny, truly made the evening special. He was welcoming, friendly, attentive, and had such positive energy throughout the night. We had our little ones with us, and he was incredibly accommodating and patient, making sure everyone at the table felt taken care of. It's rare to find service that feels so genuine, and Danny absolutely knocked it out of the park. The food was phenomenal from start to finish. We started with the bone marrow appetizer and turned it into a luge--which was such a fun experience! We also ordered a basket of fries with the goat cheese ranch for the kids, and even those were amazing. For our entrées, we had the Pork Chop Milanese, the Wagyu steak, and the Etto Truffle Pasta. Every single dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. It's hard to pick a favorite because they were all outstanding. The cocktails deserve a special mention because they were an experience all on their own. We ordered the whiskey-forward cocktails, with one arriving in a smoke-filled box and the other presented in a lit, smoke-filled chest. The presentation was theatrical, creative, and so much fun while still delivering incredible flavor. To top it all off, Danny surprised us with sparkling wine to celebrate my husband's birthday, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. From the exceptional service to the unforgettable food, creative cocktails, and warm hospitality, this was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. Thank you, Danny, and the entire Alchemists' Garden team, for helping make my husband's birthday so special. We can't wait to come back!

We got there a little early for our reservation and they weren't quite ready for us yet, so they offered us a glass of bubbles while we waited. Such a sweet touch right off the bat. Our server was incredible, so friendly and made sure we wanted for nothing the entire time. The manager even came by to check in on us personally. And the sommelier was kind enough to put together a non alcoholic wine tasting for our pregnant friends in the group, which I thought was such a thoughtful touch. I ordered the cabbage and it was delicious. The sauce was amazing and the textures from all the different ingredients worked so well together. It was surprisingly filling too. I'd order it again in a heartbeat. One person in our group ordered the steak and a few pieces came out more rare than she would have liked. She still ate most of it and was genuinely fine with it, but when the manager checked in and asked about it, he sent out two desserts to make up for it anyway. Such a thoughtful gesture and it really did not go unnoticed. They were delicious too. Overall such a wonderful experience all around. Highly recommend.

Honestly, the best food I've ever had. Ingredients are high quality, well balanced and elevated. I rarely eat land meat and the vegetarian dishes were so good, I ended up trying the duck and the steak and both were EXCELLENT. Cocktails were delicious fantastic and the service was incredible. We had Keeli the first night how was so sweet and took her time to explain dishes and make recommendations. Everything was so good that we went back the next night and our server was Kat C, who was just as sweet and friendly and helpful. I have already highly recommended this place to multiple people.

I can only review on drinks since that's the only reason why I went. We got a walk in and sat at the bar. My first drink was the garden spear (coffee cup picture) and for $17 of a premixed cocktail, I was disappointed. You get very little drink specially because they added a large ice cube. I then tried the "Know your kava roots" which is Al alternative drink meaning you get a numbing sensation from drinking it. I've had kava before and this drink just numbed the mouth for maybe 5mins then it was done. There are better, cheaper places around downtown. The ambiance was chill but that's it.

Our expectations for this restaurant were honestly pretty high. Overall, the service was good, and the drinks were well-made and nicely balanced. My only issue was with the menu. I actually love small and simple menus, but unfortunately several items listed were unavailable, which made the selection feel very limited and left us with fewer options to choose from. That was really my only complaint. For the price, I think there are other places that offer more variety and, in my opinion, better overall value.

Update: Removing a star because they do not refund the table free, even for the patrons who show up. Typically, this fee is a safeguard against no-shows, but we were charged $100 to have the privilege of spending money at their restaurant. I've never experienced this before - very disappointing. Great for cocktails, but less so for dinner. My friend booked The Alchemists' Garden for her birthday dinner. She had originally made the reservation for 9 people, but 2 of our friends were unable to make it on the trip. We contacted the restaurant as soon as they opened for the day, but they were unwilling to refund the deposit for those 2 people and offered to send over prosecco and popcorn instead. Personally, I found that to be inflexible, considering we were still planning to dine as a large party and spend a significant amount of money. When we arrived, we were seated on the (dog-friendly) patio. The ambiance was a bit cooler inside, but it had a nice calm vibe. I was the designated driver, but my friends all ordered cocktails. This was the best part of our experience! The best ones I tasted were the Aires and Theory of Forms, but my friends absolutely loved the Nicolas Flamel and Alchemists Gold. For food, we got an order of the Deviled Eggs to start with, but these were not my favorite. However, the Hamachi Sashimi was phenomenal. I wish the portion size was a bit more substantial, but the flavor and texture were perfect. I also really liked the Bone Marrow appetizer. Opinions were extremely mixed on our other food items. The Waygu New York Strip, Skirt Steak, and Truffled Cacio e Pepe were the winners, but the Croquettes, Pesto Vegetable Lasagna, and Pan Seared Halibut were not. Service was friendly but slow-paced, and the meal really dragged on for me. We also expressed that we were celebrating a birthday both in the booking and during the dinner, but they did not send over a birthday dessert. All my friend got was a postcard with the check. Overall, I would say The Alchemists' Garden is worth the visit for drinks, but I would skip dinner.

We went here to grab a cocktail and enjoy their patio bar top. Deszi was our server. She was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu options, and helped us make a very difficult decision between a savory and sweet option. The cocktails were delicious and so was the dessert we chose.

Cute place! Dessert was good . The customer service was ok. My first experience of a drink not being absolutely great and it not offered to be remade. One sip was taken and the drink was left. The waiter even asked if the drink was good as he noticed it had been left basically untouched. My friend said no and he said, "oh sorry." That's it. There was no offer to remake the drink. Oh well at least the dessert was really good! Note- they don't split checks. Not a huge deal just an observation:) Overall an ok experience:) Check it out for yourself. It's a popular place as the wait to get in was over 30mins. Def a fave in Paso.

First time visiting Paso Robles and while I was excited for the vineyards, I definitely needed a break from wine - and The Alchemist's Garden was exactly what I was looking for. This place was recommended by the group I was with (they've done this trip a few times), and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We ended up coming back three separate times during our trip... which pretty much says everything. The vibe is perfect - cozy, speakeasy-ish, and the kind of place you can just post up belly-up at the bar and stay awhile. Great energy without being over the top. From the moment we walked in, the service stood out. Aubrey set the tone right away - super welcoming and made us feel like regulars from the start. Behind the bar, Matt and Justice were incredible. You can tell they take pride in what they're doing, and it shows in every drink. Honestly, the entire crew is a big reason we kept coming back. Drinks were top-tier: * Bourbon Flip * Espresso Martini * Old Fashioned * Sazerac * And a specialty cocktail with honey cold foam that was so good we literally came back just for it Everything was well-balanced, creative, and consistently on point across all three visits. If you're in Paso Robles and want a break from wine or just appreciate a really well-crafted cocktail in a great atmosphere, this place is a must. Definitely on my "always stop here" list moving forward.

A hidden gem. Doug was our server and was beyond attentive. Very helpful with recommendations and refills. If you can request him you will not be disappointed. All the food was delicious and very well balanced. Can't wait to come back!

Played hookie and took a 4 hour drive to Paso. Thrle Alchemists was always on my list and they did not disappoint. I came for dinner and brunch and wowwww. Sky B was so amazing. Thank you for taking care of us. Everything was delicious

We stopped in at The Alchemist's Garden and had a wonderful dinner. The prawns with lentils and oysters were standouts. The wines by the glass list was well thought out with beautiful reds by Alta Colinaand McPrice Myers. The service was excellent and attentive as well. Very popular spot with a key corner location next to the downtown Paso city park. Stop in, you won't be disappointed!

First, you line up at the entrance, then you ring the doorbell, but only once as the sign warns. You are greeted through a peekaboo window in the door where they ask your party size. You are then taken in groups of three or less to a vestibule where they lock down your phones so you can't take any pictures and then you are seated in the dark and moody atmosphere. They don't split checks, so be ready to order as a group. There's a 90 minute time limit as well, so don't dawdle. Highlights of our order included the Butter Pecan Old Fashioned (so good!) and the Banana Daiquiri. We stayed for the full 90 minutes and when we left there was a long line waiting to get in. Go early if you want to get one of the few seats inside or be prepared to wait. We loved our experience.

We arrived just minutes after 5pm on a Thursday, with only one group ahead of us -- about a 5-minute wait before we were ushered in. They do check IDs, so bring one, or find somewhere else to drink. After the secret knock and moving a book in the entryway library, the door opens into a 1920s-style bar: heavy, dark wood, and very limited seating, with just 8 seats at the bar and two larger seating areas for groups. I believe our bartender's name was Matt -- the last of the original employees since Eleven Twenty-Two opened eight years ago. He was great, walking my girlfriend through the menu when she asked for recommendations, and sharing some great insight when we asked about the bar's history and the mixology behind the drinks. She started the evening with a Mexican Firing Squad -- very margarita-like, with tequila, lime, house-made grenadine, and Angostura. I wasn't quite as adventurous and wanted to keep things simple, so my first round was a martini, stirred and dry. The fun didn't stop there, since we had 90 minutes to relax before our dinner reservation. Round two was a Slow and Foamy -- a lemongrass- and fennel-infused vodka with egg white. It was an interesting drink; flavors you wouldn't expect to work together, worked together beautifully. It's an in-house creation by the female bartender, whose name I didn't catch. Torn between a Sidecar and a Manhattan, I went with the Sidecar, since I hadn't found a good one anywhere else in Paso. Matt poured a really nice one -- not too sweet, with a sugar-rimmed glass and well-balanced simple syrup. Like every drink that night, it was beautifully balanced. We finished with a Banana Daiquiri -- their unique take on the drink, without the slushy ice or fake banana flavor. This was probably the best drink of the night for both of us, and we shared it. It's not cheap, but a night out for drinks never is. That wouldn't stop me from bringing out-of-town guests here -- they'd love this kind of historical, speakeasy-style setting. I really appreciated the staff's attention and professionalism. We had a great time. Thanks, Eleven Twenty-Two!
