    Worst whiskey sour ever

This place is a joke. First they think they are in Hollywood and being really selective, even though the bar is completely empty they turned away all of our party who came later bc we were a large party and didn't book thru their events coordinator to "guarantee their 20% gratuity". They are on the 4th floor and not even facing downtown park. We came and the rude young fake big lips girl literally came up and told us that we couldn't order bc we're part of a large party and needed to be in 1 tab so that they can guarantee their 20% gratuity. She was super rude and aggressive about it. She was like yelling at us at the end demanding a credit card now. Look, we don't mind paying the gratuity (and we did put 20% grat) but to be in 1 tab and the way she said it, was super rude. We are not kids or dashers. We are grown adults. There are better ways to come about that or present that to customers and no need to be rude about it. We'll pay! We did end up ordering waiting for the rest of the party. The drinks ARE NOT GOOD!. One of the worst whiskey sours I ever had. It was just all sour mix. The "bartenders" are not real or trained. We've been to some really good bars. We just came from the Alchemist Garden and they are real bartenders with well made cocktails. The bar manager blocked all the rest of our party from coming up, so we all left, and the place was empty. Their motto is they rather not service large party, be empty and turn away business who are willing to pay for a badly made $20 cocktail. We took our business to Pappis, who was happy to accommodate our large party. Oh even if you're not in the same party and sit with random people they will force you to have 1 tab. Bad business motto here. I would never recommend this place or come back!

We went for drinks before bedtime. I did find it odd that they did last call at 10:30ish for an 11PM close on a Friday night. Ordered a drink and my wife just wanted a water. Drink was pricy, but good. Was told by locals that were there, that they came for the entertainment but that night they had no one.

My husband and I finally tried out this rooftop bar. What a cool place!! It has many options (bar seating, high top tables and sectional groupings). There is at least one grouping around a fire-pit and there are many fixed and mobile heaters. The space can be completely covered, to keep the space dry and allow this bar to remain open all year, not seasonally. There happened to be very good live entertainment that night, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The views are quite nice as well. Service was very friendly, without being hovering. We really enjoyed our drinks, which included an Old Fashioned and the Twisted Hound (a vodka drink with St. Germain and grapefruit juice). They also have some good, like charcuterie and flatbread pizzas, though we did not have food on this occasion (but will definitely return to try it out). The drinks are on the pricey side, but they do have a happy hour that will make locals (like me) happy.

I've had some of the best experiences at this rooftop bar. The staff are amazing and so accommodating. My fiancé and I had our first date at this rooftop bar. We had a great experience then with some amazing drinks. Fast forward some time later and I ended up renting out the space to propose to my now fiancé. I have nothing but positive things to say about this place and service. This space is so unique for the area and is definitely one of a kind! Thank you to all of the staff for everything.

Drinks are good, not the best in the area. Atmosphere is incredible, has amazing views! Would return again! Service was good!

Okay! I did it and visited a "trendy" rooftop bar. I did not know what to expect, but what I didn't expect was to be ripped off. Sat at the bar so I was able to watch the drinks being made. The bartender was very entertaining mixing three drinks at a time and in very fancy shakers, with more mixer than liquor. Sooo not worth it. I'd rather stay home and make my own.

Came to this rooftop bar for our bar hopping night for our Bach/bachelorette weekend. It was gorgeous. Live music. Lots of good seating. Amazing views. The drinks were tasty, but a bit pricy. Loved the vibe and we will definitely be back. Good spot in downtown Paso.

Beautiful roof top bar. I had no idea this was here or that it is also a very nice hotel. It's nestled across from Downtown area. The view is beautiful. The enjoyment of drinks is enhanced by their out door fire pits. The ambience of this bar is definitely a vibe. I am sad I didn't get a picture of the view.

10:30 close, servers are not very personable. Significant wait time to get a drink with no one else in the bar.

Here's how your breakdown lines up: Burger (main miss) --frozen patty, no crust, unmelted cheese, weak sauce--usually means: * Pre-formed frozen beef puck (not fresh ground) * Cooked on a grill instead of a ripping-hot flat top (so no smash crust or Maillard flavor) * Cheese added too late or heat too low to melt it properly * Sauce under-portioned or used as a light spread instead of a flavor layer Result: bland, dry, and flat tasting burger Mac & cheese That "pasta + runny cheese water" texture is a classic sign of: * Pre-boiled pasta sitting in liquid * Cheese sauce broken or watered down * Very little actual cheese base (often just milk + starch + seasoning) So yeah--more "pasta dish" than mac & cheese. Salad (surprisingly the win) Good olive oil + vinaigrette can carry a salad hard. That's usually the only thing that doesn't rely on heavy kitchen execution, so it makes sense it stood out. Fries (another win) Crispy, salted fries usually come from: * Proper double fry or high-temp fry oil * Frozen fries done correctly (ironically, frozen can still be great if cooked right) Pulled pork Cheap BBQ sauce + pre-cooked pork is pretty standard for mid-tier spots. Not amazing, but at least it has flavor, unlike the burger. Beer Hard to mess up--good call there. Overall read of the place This is the vibe I'm getting: * Strengths: fryer, sauces (salad dressing), bar program * Weaknesses: grill station, mac & cheese, burger execution * Kitchen style: "assembly + reheating" more than scratch cooking

Fun atmosphere and good food!…read more Stopped here for a quick drink and bite to eat before heading back to the hotel for the night. The town was hosting live music at the plaza across the street so we sat outside facing the plaza. It was a great way to enjoy our meal! The place was pretty packed because of the World Cup going on (Mexico vs Korea) so I understand why our server was a bit slow. She was handling tables inside and outside but keep in mind when it gets busy you may wait a bit longer for things. I ordered "The Steak" which is a hangar steak with a compound butter on top and Brussels sprouts on the side, I subbed potatoes for coleslaw. The steak was cooked nicely and had a great crust on the outside, very flavorful with just the right amount of saltiness. The Brussels were some of the best I've had even though they were so simple. I ate every last one! The slaw was ok but not a ton of flavor, it was pretty light on the sauce. We also got an order of bacon wrapped jalapeños with cilantro ranch. They were so good! We destroyed them in seconds while burning our tongues on the lava-like cheese. Worth it!

November 2025 Since…read moreI gave such a stellar review of the Bacon Crusted Burger at Street Side Ale House, I must update the comments since people do go to restaurants based on other's reviews. And I am so embarrassed to have recommended this restaurant to dozens of people. We raved to our friends about this place and this burger in particular. So, when we traveled with them to Paso Robles this week, we took them there on Thursday night. We passed on having the Wagyu 8 oz. burger and fries at In Bloom (Michelin listed) the night before in anticipation of this burger. Service was abysmal. We sat for quite some time with no service. My wife went in and asked where our server was? Finally, a woman showed up and said our waiter would be with us shortly. Sometime later, a friendly waiter arrived. He was obviously new, under-trained, and spread too thin. He was very personable, but our drinks sat on the bar for a long time and my wife had to go in and ask if she could take then. "No, the waiter will bring them out." Meanwhile, our friends were sipping on their drinks. We got our appetizers and then ordered our meals. The food came quickly, maybe too quickly, and I noticed no egg yolk oozing out (it was halved for us in the kitchen) and the burger overall was much thinner than the last time and the arugula was so wet under the patty. So, we ate a couple bites of it and it just did not taste right. I opened it up to find a baked or boiled grey patty with no crispy bacon wrapping. The bacon was soft, I mean boiled soft and was a small lump on top of the burger patty, not even close to crispy. More like a damp towel. The avocado was sliced but not spread out, so stuck on the left side. The egg was hard cooked with a solid yolk. No pepper to be found. I showed the waiter who was stunned. He thought we were kidding. The manger came out, looked at it, asked what we wanted to do. I was a bit surprised given the wreck that this burger was and said I don't know, what do you want to do? He said the chef wasn't there but took the plate back to the kitchen. He came back and said the chef (wait, he wasn't there) was surprised and said it was not right. The chef (if he was there) should have headed straight out to us and apologized. So, the manager took the burger off the bill but left the same horrible burger ($22) on our friend's bill. I should not have to tell a manager how to fix such a mess and disaster of a meal and service. I hope they fix their kitchen, whoever is checking food at the pass, and the service or they will be another casualty to the restaurant business in Paso. Sorry I had to write this as I rarely post negative reviews in order to not hurt a business and their employees.

We stopped at Sabor Sazon while road-tripping up the coast and it did not disappoint! Our server Matthew was fantastic -- super knowledgeable and walked us through the menu in a way that made picking dishes easy (and honestly, made the whole experience feel special). We started with the corn soufflé, which was a great way to kick things off. For mains, we went with the chicken sandwich and the Lomo Saltado, and both were excellent -- flavorful, well-executed, and clearly made with care. If you're in Paso Robles, this one's worth a stop. Ask for Matthew if he's working -- he'll take great care.

Everyone was warm and friendly, our server was very attentive without being overbearing. The food was also excellent. I had the Lamb (medium rare) with potato mash and asparagus plus an Old Fashioned, while my wife had the filet (medium rare) with roasted potatoes and broccolini plus a Margarita. The only criticism I would make is regarding the bread (which was free). It kind of fell apart and wasn't great, but the sauce provided with the bread was excellent! I would suggest they find a local bread maker to supply their bread. Normally I'd say just remove that from service altogether but the sauce was so good that I'd hate to see it go. Again, we didn't pay for it and it wasn't a huge issue, but it was the only thing that stuck out. We would highly recommend to friends and will definitely be back!
