Rating a tasting room is an odd chore: are you rating the ambience, the people, or the wine? All of them I guess. The tasting room itself is "minimalisticly modern." There's not a ton of flash which some high end wineries use disguise mixed quality of wine. You'd be comfortable here dressed up or in sweats. Justin, the tasting room lead, is knowledgeable but far from snooty. On a quiet weekday afternoon, he spent a long time with us -- we explored a wide range of whites and red (and one rose). Some of our favorites: Chardonnay Napa Valley, Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard Carneros (I don't drink Chards and really enjoyed this one), Cabernet Angels Vista, Cabernet Lameraux. Excited to discover Alpha Omega (NAPA winery) has a tasting room in Downtown Paso! The same owners also own Tolosa Winery in Paso. The tasting room offers both wineries wines for tasting! Justin, the sales manager greeted us and checked in on us several times. Our tasting host was Michelle. She was excellent, knew the wines, lots of history about tasting years and the different vineyards. We had many different tastings. Honestly, they were all fantastic and hard to choose our favorites and what to purchase. We bought a few Tolosa Wines and some Alpha Omega. Two of the Alpha Omega's we plan to lay down to enjoyment in the future, Marston Cabernet 2021 and Proprietary Red 2021. We were also offered tastings of ERA (single sourced Cabernet), what an amazing wine! The tasting room is located in Downtown Paso, great location. We went to dinner after tasting! My wife and I spent a few days in Paso on our honeymoon and we happened to find ourselves in Alpha Omega the other day. It was a cold, rainy, off-season day, but the beautiful tasting room grabbed our attention as we walked by so we decided to check it out. We were greeted immediately by a nice young lady and offered still or sparking water. We had a seat at a small table next to the window and started looking over the menu. We opted to do a signature flight as well as a curated flight and decided we'd just try each others' wine. We were given a fantastic tour of all the wines offered by bother Alpha Omega as well as Tolosa as well as a couple that weren't on the menu. Having been drinking Paso Robles wine the past few days, it was nice getting to compare against some Napa wines as well as other wines from the region. We had a fantastic time at Alpha Omega and I would encourage anyone looking for some diversity to stop by and check them out. We had a great time and got to try some wine that I otherwise may never had an opportunity to try and even came home with a bottle of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. This was my first time visiting Paso Robles. I chose to do my first wine tasting here and I couldn't have made a better choice! The quality of the wine was, of course, excellent, but what I really want to highlight is the outstanding service from Justin. He shared so much knowledge about the wines and took such great care of us. Even though we were the only table there at the time, I could truly feel the warmth and friendliness of the experience. We came with some wine club members. The tasting room, located right in front of the town square and park gives a great opportunity to people watch while enjoying some great wines. The staff there were attentive and we really enjoyed being able to do some side by side comparisons. There's lots of street parking but I do recommend going when they open at 12pm to be able to walk around beforehand, perhaps enjoy brunch at a local restaurant before diving into the wines as there isn't much of food selection at the tasting room. read more

Came here for a quick tasting while waiting for a reservation at another tasting room. We didn't have a reservation here, but were promptly seated and able to begin tasting. They had two flight options, since we already had a pretty wine filled day, we opted to share one of their signature flights. Pours were big enough that we were both able to get a good taste of each wine. Chris led us through our tasting, he was enthusiastic, personable, and knew a lot about the wines and the vineyards they came from. It was cool to learn about their 3 different vineyards, one in Napa Valley, one in Edna Valley, and most recently one in Spain! We are long time Alpha Omega wine club members and were visiting from the Napa Valley over Christmas and were excited to visit the Collective on Christmas Eve. The space is right on the square and a nice spot to sit and people watch. Michelle served us and she was so friendly and pleasant to chat with. She took her time with us, despite it being Christmas Eve and I think we were the last reservation of the day. We enjoyed our experience so much we came back the day after Christmas. Michelle assisted us again and she and Justin were both great. We love the Alpha Omega Collective in downtown Napa as well and highly would recommend either if you find yourself in either Napa or Paso Robles. read more

My wife and I stopped into the Alpha Omega Collective tasting room for the first time on our last visit. In short, it was exceptional. While the focus downtown is (correctly) on local Paso wineries and varietals, Alpha Omega pours wine that range from the cooler central coast Edna Valley microclimate, to the warmer Napa Valley AVAs, in particular the Alpha Omega Cabernet's. The wines at Alpha Omega are outstanding, as was the experience. The tasting room is centrally located and the space is fantastic, large and comfortable. In addition to the excellent wine, extra credit to the hosts Justin and Michelle who were amazing. Both were friendly, helpful, and clearly knowledgeable and passionate about the wine. We got a recommendation from a coworker. What a recommendation! First of all, they are pet friendly which was awesome because we had our 10 month old (trained) Mal with us. From the start, The service was great! Water and snacks for us and mini dog treats and a water bowl for our dog. The pours were generous and took us on a tour of not only San Luis Obispo Vineyards but also Napa as well. This is definitely a hard pass for future visits to Paso Robles. The wines were all overpriced, and the quality did not meet up with the price. $75 for a bottle of chardonnay is outrageous, this is Paso, not Napa. I realize they do source many of their wines from Napa, but honestly I buy wines from Napa all the time and these are not up to par. I did not really find any wine that wowed me, so I walked out buying nothing. The tasting fee is outrageous too. The worst part, however, was after our tasting flight was finished, we were completely snuffed by the staff, which is what drove me to write this review. All our waters were empty and they didn't even bother to refill them. They need to learn some down to earth Paso hospitality if they want to survive in Paso. read more

I was so fortunate to try Alpha Omega on the soft opening! My friends and I had a wonderful tasting! The staff was very welcoming and Sue was super knowledgeable. We love that we had the opportunity to experience three brands in one place! Alpha Omega's Chardonnay was delicious. Tolosa's wines need no introduction and getting to know Perinet was awesome! I got a bottle of a red blend from Perinet and I'm definitely going back for more. The tasting room is simply beautiful and the location is the best. Super classy little tasting room! At first we were worried it would be stuffy, but the staff were super warm and welcoming and the tasting room was very comfortable and clean. I tried some of the best wines I've ever had and I liked every one I tried. They have some really amazing and unique reds! The staff were super knowledgeable about every wine and really made the experience informative. Also their amazing staff gave us some wonderful recs for other places to try in town. It is a little pricier than other tasting rooms, but if you're open to a little splurge I highly recommend it. read more
