The food, amazing! Wine, top notch. Service, like no other. Steven always makes everyone feel like royalty. The scenery is breathtaking. Took our daughter and friends today to celebrate their 21st birthday and they left in awe.
Opolo is wonderful, as always. We arrived for lunch and were greeted by Sienna and Zoren(big hugs). Jeremy was our waiter and treated us extremely well and encouraged us to try the housemade sausage charcuterie board - WOW & Yum - Great service and knowledge from Jeremy. Tiffany came out and welcomed us (big hugs, so cute - baby due in August). Inside for wine tasting with Jeff(love Jeff's sense of humor) - so much fun & great tasting. Jeff has an incredible knowledge of the wines and remembered some of our likes with previous tastings. Tiffany & Ryan both are fantastic with customer service and wonderful to always talk to when making reservations or with questions. We LOVE Opolo and the staff at Opolo.
We are enthusiastic supporters of Opolo Vineyards due to their enduring support of the Cancer Support Community in Westlake Village (Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara Chapter). Dear Hubby prefers beer when he's imbibing alcoholic beverages, and I no longer drink any kind of spirits, so we aren't their target demographic any longer. That being said, other family members of ours do drink and enjoy good wines. We were on a family vacation in Paso Robles a little while ago and the wine lovers booked a tasting at Opolo. That left DH, our Sweet Granddaughter, and my niece's boyfriend to hang out together while the rest of the crew were ushered into the winery building for their tasting session. It was mid-to-late afternoon, and the four us took a large table out on the patio while we waited for the group to do their tasting. We didn't initially understand that when you order from the menu at the bistro, a glass of wine comes with an entree, i.e., a pizza. We thought the prices were on the high side, so we just split a pizza and ordered something small on the side. The waiter did offer us wine, but we all declined. It wasn't until the rest of our group joined us that we realized that we were owed a glass of wine. That worked out for the tasters, because one of them ordered a full portion of their favorite wine from the sampling. Either we didn't read the menu correctly, or the way that it was worded didn't make it clear that wine was included in the price. Live and learn. Meanwhile, we soaked up the ambiance of the expansive outdoor dining space, which is under a massive roof structure with open sides. It looks out over a pretty tiered garden space, punctuated by a large water feature. It's mesmerizing to sit out there and relax in the afternoon. The reason that I'm not giving five stars is that the menu was limited, and not that flexible for those who weren't there 100% for the wine tasting experience. Granted, they are a winery, but they are also operating the casual restaurant. There weren't many options for SG to eat, either. Service was great, and I would happily return again, armed with the knowledge of what to expect. One additional note - if you had been to the Opolo property years ago, as DH and I had been, back in 2009, this incarnation is much different. They are all grown up with the sophistication of expanded facilities. Back in our previous visit I recall a cute little farmhouse area for tasting and a modest gift shop. Great for them to have expanded and thrived!
Nice grounds and friendly service. Wines are a little on the high side but still solid. I bought a couple bottles of their Zin. Most everything else was not worth the price (for Paso Robles fruit) My only complaint is that you can't have a wine tasting outside, even when the weather is absolutely beautiful! They make you go inside, away from the beautiful grounds. Why? Because outside is reserved for food!!. Really? Why can't I have a wine tasting while I'm having pizza? The ~$35 small personal pizza comes with a glass of wine. Not bad unless you're not drinking wine, then it becomes the most expensive (mediocre at best ) pizza I've ever had. Advice: 1. Allow wine tastings outside. 2. Advertise a less expensive pizza option.
I had the pleasure of attending one of the most beautiful weddings at Opolo Vineyards, and it's one that I will never forget. The venue was a gorgeous place for the two lovebirds to tie the knot and have their loved ones join in a celebrate with them. The parking lot is unpaved, but space is plentiful. We had to catch shuttles to the ceremony area which would've been a bit of a walk to the beautiful green field overlooking the hills and vineyards that went on for miles. After the ceremony, we enjoyed light bites and drinks. The wine? Best I've ever had, as this was my first visit to a winery/vineyard. Both the reds and whites were good, nothing like I've had from bottles purchased from a grocery store. The indoor reception area is large. The bar is located at the entrance and the dining area is surrounded by walls of wine barrels. Dinner was delicious. It started with a strawberry balsamic salad. For my entree, I chose the braised short ribs, and it came with mashed potatoes and broccolini. The beef was tender, juicy, and seasoned well. The meal was overall rich and paired well with my cabernet. No complaints at all. My kiddos enjoyed their kids' meals: chicken nuggets with mac and cheese. It came with a side of sauteed veggies, which they didn't enjoy so much. Go figure. Customer service was great. All the bartenders and servers were warm and friendly. The event was unforgettable, the view was amazing, the food was wonderful, and the wine was extraordinary. I hope to return to Opolo someday!
If you are disabled, this is not the vineyard for you. They only have one parking designated for a disabled person, considering the size of the seating areas, outside and inside. Would I come back.. hell NO. Service was ok, nothing to brag about but I must say that the Wow Platter was worth the $75 charge. They also don't have dessert which some wines are better for pairing .. You are better off at Calcarious for the food, wine and dessert.

Opolo's flagship wine is their signature Mountain Zinfandel. The B&B is an unforgettable experience. A luxurious, very romantic inn located in the Willow creek district with intimate vineyard views. It is three-suite boutique B&B that offers a quiet, couples-only escape. The staff is super friendly. A bottle of wine and a platter of appetizer are served everyday. In the morning, you will have made-to-order breakfast. Overnight guests receive complimentary tastings. A very picturesque grounds dotted with oak trees. Watch the sunset on the hilltop or play a bocce ball game.
The staff introduced Opolo's story and history spanning 25 years! The indoor tasting room is refreshingly cool--perfect for escaping scorching summer days. The outdoor dining area features beautiful landscaping. Each dish is thoughtfully paired with a specific wine, introduced by the staff. The vineyard stretches over 500 acres, with wine selections divided into Classic and Reserve categories. Mountain Zinfandel stands as Opolo's signature red wine, which is a must- try! They also serve several stone-oven baked pizzas in the outside dinning area!
We visited this winery and decided to do lunch instead of traditional tastings since tastings are located in a different room so you can't do both at the same time. However, each food item comes with a free glass of wine, which we thought was a great deal and a nice way to still experience their wines. The pizza was just okay for the price--not bad, but not a standout for the price. That said, the winery itself is beautiful, and they had everything decorated so nicely for the holidays, which really added to the experience. Our favorite wine was definitely the Zinfandel. Overall, a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the ambiance with a larger group.

We had a chicken pesto pizza and a mixed green feta salad that each included a wine. Pizza was $34 with a glass of wine. Salad was $25 with a glass of wine. Pretty vines to look at. A wine tasting is $30.
Came here and booked the vineyard tour, and all I can say as that if you enjoy Opolo wines and you haven't done this, you are missing out. We booked this a couple days before, for the Memorial Day holiday, and it was amazing. Learning about the wines and vines with Brad was great. We were able to tour the vineyard on a golf cart and visit some of the buildings on property, while being poured wines. It was amazing after the tour we went back to the tasting room where Ty took over. The tour came with a charcuterie board and amazing comparison tastings of a number of wines. We left with so much wine and as members. All of the employees were great and my husband and I had an amazing morning at Opolo (which also happened to be our anniversary!)
I went back to Opolo for a tasting and lunch and, again, had a great experience. The wine tastings are conducted inside the tasting room and to dine you need to relocate outside which was no problem. The chicken pesto and the pepperoni pizzas were great. I especially like the thin crust. There's plenty of seating outside so you don't feel cramped. The service both inside and outside were attentive and pleasant. Let's not forget their excellent wines which were balanced and well structured. Highly recommended!
We really enjoy their pizzas and Zinfandels. There's a huge outdoor space, only for food and glasses of wine or bottle. The tasting is done inside and cannot be done on the patio. Which stinks. And kids or anyone under 21 cannot go into tasting room, which is understandable. We really came for the pizza. They don't start serving until 11am. We got the three little pig pizza, came with pepperoni, Italian sausage and bacon. For a meat lover style pizza, it wasn't salty like other places. It can feed 2, but you won't get full, more of a light meal. All entrees come with a glass of wine. We opted for the mountain zin bc it's simply the best zin. Not sure if the wine glass is an actual 5oz pour, it looks more like a 4oz pour. But still good. Wish they would allow tastings on the patio. Or have a section or something so we can enjoy the beautiful Paso weather.

Unfortunately, we had to end our family's 20-year membership with this winery. Very disappointed with the experience. We were told we could no longer do wine tasting outside unless we ordered food, which felt more like a way to increase sales than accommodate guests. What made it more frustrating is that not long ago we were able to enjoy wine tasting outside without any issue. On a beautiful day like today, we were instead seated in the back bar area, not even at a proper table, despite having an infant with us. After 20 years of loyalty, this was really disappointing and not the experience we expected. read more
Our visit to Opolo was a tough one to review. We were a party of 7 and as much as we wanted to stay together, they had very strict and strange rules. Those who were doing a flight could only do so inside. If you only wanted a glass of wine or a cocktail, you had to sit outside. Mind you, this was one of many wineries we went to and 1. Some of us wanted to just have a glass and 2. No other wineries had such stringent rules. We're here to have fun, not be restricted where and how we have to sit. Now, what made this review so tough was that our experience with the host just pouring our flights for those of who did do a tasting, Jeremy, was a delight and wonderful. He kept us engaged, informed and welcomed. Opolo, maybe loosen up and bit and rethink how to welcome your guests. read more

We revisited this place and it was such a good decision! Wine is absolutely subjective, and it truly feels like it depends on the vibes. If you are not feeling it, it could be the wine, but it could also be your overall experience. That said, we loved our experience! The sommelier was nice, helpful, and genuine. He was not pretentious at all. He joked with us, carried on a great conversation, and was polite and friendly. We ended up purchasing two bottles. We used a buy one get one tasting with our Priority Wine Pass, and for this place alone, the pass is worth it. We will definitely add this winery back into our Paso rotation. read more

WOW. We were running a bit behind but we had to stop by this spot from all the great reviews we've heard. We were originally was going to do a tasting but the hostess recommended the following champagne and it was to DIE for. So delicious, lightly sweetened but not too much, notes of fruitiness but your tongue can't quite pinpoint the exact one. We ended up buying 4 bottles of this and will definitely be coming back so we can spend more dedicated time read more
Our first trip to a tasting at a winery. Opolo is nestled in the hills north of Paso Robles. It is a pretty drive about 4 miles off Hwy 46. We were seated at the bar and met Jeff. He told us about the Opolo vineyard and flight options. We decided on trying the classic flight and the reserve flight. We enjoyed the majority of them and decided to become club members. We were able to order our first shipment and take them with us. We both LOVED the Malbec, we also enjoyed the Mountain Zinfandel, Rhapsody, and the Pinot Noir. After our tasting, we enjoyed some wood fired pizza and salad both included a glass of wine. The pizza was delicious!! We sat at an outdoor table and enjoyed the beautiful weather. As club members we are able to return for 4 'free' tastings. Looking forward to our next visit. read more
Reserved an 11 am tasting on Sunday Jan 5th for 3 plus a driver. We ordered chicken pesto pizza, pig pizza, and the $35 cheese platter. I posted photos. All were very good. I especially liked the pesto pizza. I had a whites tasting. Amber had the classic and Jeanette had the reserve tasting. We were there from. 11 am to 230 pm. The patio has lots of heaters. It gets warm when the sun moves and isn't blocked by the patio cover. They give you ester to drink and refilled it which was great. We enjoyed our time and we all thought we would come back just for pizza and a glass of wine. We all bought 2 bottles of wine so we didn't have to pay the tasting fee. Basic class or or white is $30. Reserve is $50. Or buy any 2 bottles of wine. Jorge was our tasting server. They only had 2 guys working and one was making the pizzas and good so I feel they were kinda short handed. Jorge was very helpful and friendly but we were waiting a lot for more wine A note to Opolo. Patio chairs need nylon glides in the chair legs. They don't want to slide in the concrete patio and the chairs DLL gave loose legs from people trying to drag them in and out from table. Wobbly legs don't make for a good experience. Another note to Opolo. One of the 2 close bathrooms outside closest to patio has a door that won't allow the lock to engage. My daughter had a drunk woman try to open it and she pulled it closed and said occupies and the woman was cussing and threatening. Fix the door. She thought weatherstripping or something was making it impossible to lock. read more

Tastings are completed in the tasting room only. You can have lunch and drinks on their large patio area. Depending on when you go, reservations are probably a good idea. We started our visit off with tastings inside ($30 regular tasting flights/ $50 reserve tasting flights). If you buy a couple bottles, your tasting fees are waived. After we had lunch and to our surprise it came with a glass of wine. The food was delicious! read more

Score: 3.5. We came by this past Saturday around 2 pm with no reservation. No problem with parking. We were directed to the Barrel Room. I noticed they have a distillery. I tried a tasting of 4 liquors/liqueurs (3 whiskeys and a dark chocolate liqueur). Tastings were very good. Others ordered wine. We also ordered a few pizzas (Three Little Pigs $34 and Margherita $31). Each pizza comes with one non-reserve glass of wine. Pizzas are 8" and have a very thin crust. Pizzas were good but a bit pricy for what you get. Service was okay. Staff wasn't particularly friendly or welcoming but efficient. read more

As long time club members at Opolo i want to recognize two outstanding staff members we met on 5/7/2025. We ate in the restaurant and our server from Croatia or Seria was so interesting! He really was wonderful . Then in the tasting room we met Jeff who gave us the best experience ever! He was so funny and informative about the wine. We found a new favorite- Willow Zin. Jeff really is an asset to this company and I would also guess he has the best sales. We also met the owner of the Bren seasoning they sell. Truly a perfect day. Thank you for your beautiful property and OUTSTANDING service. read more

Since our last visit, the facility has undergone a terrific upgrade and we thoroughly enjoyed a tasting in the upgraded tasting room. our wines were excellent and we received a very nice flight of reds, along with a couple of extra sips from our server. I wish I could remember his name (maybe Jeff?), but he was terrific! Back to the overall facility - they have done a great job of creating a really special place for a light bite as well as the tasting room itself. On our last visit we were greeted by a large room with cases of wine stacked all around. Not a bad look but the new room totally eclipses the old room. We will defintely return during our next visit to the area - hopefully this year. read more

4.5 Stars Classic Tasting Flight: $30/tasting for 5 pours (fee waived with two bottle purchase, and excludes Sparkling and Flirtations). One of our favorite wineries in the Paso Robles area. This was our second visit to the winery, and we had a fantastic time on both occasions. We've also participated in an online tasting event they held during Covid, and a recent tasting event at a local wine bar, which were also wonderful experiences. Opolo has a large outdoor, covered tasting patio, as well as an indoor tasting room. The outdoor patio also holds the "kitchen" where you can purchase pizzas, cheese plates, sausage plates, and salads. Each item comes with a glass of non-reserve wine included in the price. WINES: In general, we like wines made from grapes grown on the west side of Paso, and IMO, Opolo's are some of the best. Our tasting flight included a '22 Viognier, and four reds ('21 Sangiovese, '20 Tempranillo, '18 Reserve Petite Sirah, and a '21 Mountain Zinfandel). Wink-wink, we may have received an extra pour or two, tailored to our specific likes. As usual, we loved them all and ended up taking home several bottles. On our recent search for Zinfandels in Paso Robles, and after numerous recommendations to visit Opolo, we finally drove up to their beautiful vineyard space and thoroughly enjoyed our day of wine and food. As hot as it was up in those mountains, the outside dining and tasting patio was very comfortable. We were greeted by server Jeff, who took very good care of us and made sure we knew absolutely everything about what we were tasting. As we settled in to their delicious Charcuterie platter, the wines started coming, and Jeff kept the flow comfortably easy. Even with a very busy patio, he made sure we had everything we needed. Along with the Classic Flight, we complimented it with the Zinfandel Flight, and thoroughly enjoyed each one. Pairing them with their Charcuterie platter was ideal, and on our next visit we are excited to pair those with their other delicious menu items. I am also anticipating their brick oven Pizza selections. We are excited to get our supply of Zinfandels stocked again, and looking forward to sharing our Mountain Zin, Beckwith Vineyards, Zin Forte, and their Santa Margarita Ranch Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon with family and wine-loving friends. read more

This was an amazing tasting experience. Although I was familiar with Opolo's Mountain Zinfandel (which is a great food friendly Zin), we were open to try their wide variety of wines. We did our tasting in the Barrel Room, which was visually very cool. We tasted a number of terrific wines, but especially enjoyed their Roussanne (a very drinkable white) and their Reserve Petite Sirah. Our host walked us through each wine and quickly figured out the kinds of wine we would likely like best. After our tasting, we stayed for some food, which was outstanding. They have an outdoor pizza oven that cooked us three delicious pizzas (our favorite was the bacon and brussel sprouts - it had a drizzle of balsamic - wow). We also had the cheese platter and the sausage platter. The sausages paired perfectly with the Zin. It also came with picked veggies and some dips (all delicious). This is a must visit winery in Paso. read more
With so many wineries in Paso I always try to include a new one with each visit. We were pleasantly surprised when tasting the reds. We bought 3 bottles after tasting. Then had lunch. It was so hot and we were so hungry we toughed it out and had a pizza. There were better things on the menu but with the heat it was tough. They have a distillery on-site and make some liqueurs as well. We came back the next day and grabbed another couple bottles of sangiovese and tempranillo. We tasted in the distillery and grabbed a bottle of Amaro a liqueur. We had a good time and enjoyed the reds! read more

Yes. Outdoor covered seating. Be sure to keep children contained.
Is this winery Dog friendly?
Yes it is. They got great outside tables for them to hang out on the patio as you eat and they said that you can walk them around. I have to say that I didn't find many places for them to relieve themselves but they are welcomed.
