Robert Hall is a stunning winery up on a hill in Paso Robles. We were warmly greeted and walked through a magnificent wine tasting room and then to a spacious outside patio. The wines were delicious. Our favorite was the Grenache. So good. We also went on a cavern tour, tasting straight from a barrel! Super fun and different. Overall fabulous service from our Sommelier Richard. Really a beautiful spot to enjoy wine and a meal What I ate: - I've had their tasting menu twice. Both times the meals were great, but not perfect. Some dishes stood out more than others. But what I can say is that each course perfectly matched with the wine pairing. I believe both tastings were about 5 courses, and you definitely left feeling satiated. Portions were just right. - Cheese plate was pretty amazing Pros: - Staff have always been super friendly. The first time I had the tasting menu the chef came out to say hello. - Generous. I remember after my meal they offered me extra tastings of wines I liked best. Every glass of wine was fantastic! So good , I joined the club!!! Dog friendly as well:) I took this picture of the wine glass with sun coming through . Every single glass was so layered with different flavors and easy to drink. I bought a case, joined the club , as I said before. I went back three straight days after trying other wineries, that just could not compare . We did their cave tour which was amazing.!! Kelly served us every day and she was awesome. The charcuterie was great , so good that they sent us to where the cheese is sold. Has anybody ever had black cheese that taste like lemon meringue? Well, they have it and it goes great with the wine. I now have two bricks of it. The tasting room is beautiful and comfortable very inviting. Here on Easter Sunday. Not very busy, but I don't know know what it is like in a non-holiday. there were three different tastings you could choose from. My group all did the classic which was $25 per person. There were two whites and three reds. We also purchased a charcuterie board which was very nice. The charcuterie board had two kinds of cheese, dried mangoes, cranberries, oranges, and olives. It said there were nuts, but there were no nuts today. I enjoyed all the wines but the least expensive bottle was $35. If it had been a $25 bottle I might have bought some, but it wasn't, so I didn't. The grounds were beautiful. Inside the tasting room was more upscale than many other wineries. Probably why they need to charge $35 for their least expensive bottle of wine. read more

Kelli was great on the visit this weekend. Kiel takes good care of us as club members. But Jackie makes the entire visit. We walked in without reservations but was taken care off. Well there was literally no one there but a couple sitting outside. The lady who took care of us was sweet. The whole property is pretty big with the tasting room inside, an outdoor area that overlooks the property and a back side area. All with covered umbrellas if needed. It would have been nice to sit in the main area overlooking the vineyard but was allowed as we had our dog with us. Mind you, there was no one there but another couple. Could have just allowed us to utilized so we could enjoy the view with our tasting. Instead we sat in the back area, just us. They did offer a good selection of wine to start off. The tasting menu was reasonable compared to others that was double or even triple the price. The lady that took care of us did explain with each pour and quite friendly. We've done our fair share of tasting all over but it always nice to get the full details of everything. Wine was great. Beautiful property but major downfall with the pet situation. Understand how some places with the food situation and all but when there's literally no one there and your outside, pets was still not allowed. read more

There's something about the 10am tasting spot. It's such a peaceful experience. I originally had a reservation at a different winery, but I had to make a pivot because of the rain to an indoor tasting. Excellent tasting experience at Robert Hall yesterday. We were greeted right away and seated at the patio among the vineyard. This was a stop on our way home back up to nor cal. So we decided to share a tasting and opted for the reserve tasting. Stared with a sparkling wine made of Grenache, very nice an refreshing, purchased a bottle. Then tasted four reds, purchased the petite Syrah and a Cabernet Sauvignon. The $50 tasting was waived when you spend $100 or more on wine purchase. Our server was a young women, very pleasant and knowledgeable about the wine she was pouring. We also had the reserve cheese plate that was delicious. The setting is beautiful and serene, good wine should be enjoyed in a beautiful setting and Robert Hall delivers on a gorgeous setting and delicious wine. A must stop on the Paseo Robles wine tasting trip. read more

Amazing wines! Service was great too and they weren't stingy on pours. I hate places were they are so stingy you can't really taste. We did the both tastings (select and reserve). This is a very nice and friendly place, we had a great experience tasting outside a little over a month ago. Our server was really attentive and she spent time with us, not only about the wine, but just being sociable and friendly. Stopping by some of the local tasting rooms without a reservation you can get treated like you are unwanted. This was my first visit to this location and after being treated poorly at a neighboring winery this was the next stop on the way back to the hotel. Wow, what a difference! Very friendly people, the wine selection was so much better and did I mention how amazing the people were? We were helped by an amazingly knowledgeable woman who made us feel valued, appreciated and welcomed into their beautiful and comfortable tasting room. Not being interested in White wine they had a tasting menu just for our needs. The care, presentation, progression of wines and just every detail was amazing. We wanted to do one food pairing while in town and this is where we chose. it was a sweltering HOT day and we had a 1:00 reservation, so we were very relieved that our table was indoors. Check in was easy they had live music on the patio (which i would have preferred if it wasn't so hot)... we had a nice big table. **forgive me...i cant find the menu...will update when i do*** first sip and bite came out...rockfish tostada then bite 2, 3 & 4 came out together with the accompanying wines 2- duck pate 3- duck 4 - mini sandwich #5 - was a chocolate truffle with a cab! although i don't recall the details...i do have nice pictures and i would absolutely recommend doing this food pairing! Absolutely loved this place! During Covid they had last minute reservation for tasting and food pairing. We made our reservation at 10:30am and enjoyed our self some nice wine and the delicious food. Okay so this review is for the whole experience of the wine tasting. Now this was my first experience to wine tasting in Paso Robles. I have done Temecula and Santa Barbara before, but never Paso Robles. So I was very excited! Initial Impression: Wow! When you drive on and enter the small parking lot it will definitely make you say WOW. It is beautiful from the outside. Wine Tasting: So for the tasting you are seated outside on a couch where the host/hostess will prepare you a flight of wine. You will be given all the wine right away. There is pros and cons to this. Pro: You can ultimately decide what order you want to drink them in. Con: If you take to long to drink one of the whites then the other white may get a tad warm. I wish we got them one at a time with a little explanation about the wine we were about to taste. The hostess was nice to tell us her favorites, but it adds a nice touch when they pour it and tell you what makes that wine special. View: Now I know I said I was WOWed upon entering. However the area for the tasting was in a corner area. So my table had not much of a view. I did walk around a little bit, but honestly the best view is the initial drive onto the lot. Wine Review: We tried 5 wines, but only 2 of them we liked. Personally I do not think I will buy any of the wines in the future. There are over 250 wineries in Paso Robles. It is very hard to pick just one. I recommend you try multiple places because some are better than others. read more

A friend was recalling the time we visited Robert Hall Winery the other day and I realized no review was ever left. Which I am definitely rectifying now. I first visited Robert Hall Winery as a guest during the Fishing Pig Festival back in 2018. If one ever has a chance to attend this event don't think twice. At sunset we noshed on beautifully curated charcuterie boards, tasted dozens of wines and roamed the gorgeous grounds of Robert Hall. The highlight of the evening, besides the delicious wines, was the BBQ. The food was absolutely phenomenal. BBQ was catered by Morro Bay's finest, Tognazzini's. There was oysters, shrimp, crab cakes, as well as smoked ribs, pork tacos, pulled pork sliders, and sausages - it was the most delicious array of meats ever put on my plate. And what a treat to have grilled oysters. Truly, the event was a masterpiece and one I definitely look forward to attending again. After that event, we visited again for a wine tasting the following spring of 2019. It was a pleasant experience even with the large bus of guests in attendance. Typically I tend to avoid larger wineries because of issues with large number of people, but I never felt rushed or crowded. In fact, it was quite the opposite. We were warmly welcomed. I especially liked the many seating areas inside and out to taste in case standing at the bar isn't for you. Robert Hall also has a few electric vehicle charging stations in the parking lot - perfect if you're headed back to Bakersfield or Fresno after a weekend at the coast. I highly recommend wine tasting while charging, of course. Robert Hall remains a solid winery choice while in Paso. Especially for larger groups. But it's the private events that really make it amazing. read more

They had the tasting menu preselected for you , which kind of sucks because all the wines on it - weren't my favorites at all. I wish they had a few other options to serve others palates. Price is $20 per tasting, pretty high for not very good wine (at least for us) Ambience was great inside and outside. We prefer inside with the AC because it was hot out. It's also nice that they have a food pairing option. We didn't like the wines much...out of the 6 wines we tasted we only liked the last one (it was the shirah) and the very first one we tasted was actually really nasty (i forgot what it was, it was white in a blueish bottle i think).
