The ladies at Sea Shell Cellars made my husband's and my rough day so much better. We ate lunch across the street and came back to our car to realize we had left our keys in the trunk. Between waiting for AAA and the locksmith, we were stuck outside Sea Shell Cellars for about five hours. The alarm would randomly go off, and I am sure it was annoying, but the ladies treated us with so much compassion. One of the ladies invited us in for a complimentary tasting because she knew we were having a rough time. We declined at first, but several hours later they invited us in again. Denise and Rosalie were so sweet to us. They gave us a tasting, a bottle of wine, water to hydrate, and even charged my phone so we could order an Uber. We were disappointed in the service. We were there and a group of 8 came in and took the full attention of the server. She clearly knew them and forgot about us. We did not even finish three tastings of wine and had to wait over five min for each. We decided to leave and she still proceeded to charge us $20 per person. They say a person makes or breaks an experience at a winery! Denise is no exception! She was so warm and friendly and fun and made our tasting experience a joy! If you're the owner and reading this, give that woman a raise! The wine is fantastic, we had the Viognier over at Jeffreys and that's what drew me in because I love a good Viognier but all of the wines were delicious and it was difficult to narrow down my selections as we already had 4 cases of wine from our trip back at the BNB. The reserve Cabernet is fabulous and stands up well on its own without food. The winner for me was the Mourvèdre at the end of our tasting, I am not a big fan of the M by itself without the G and the S but this has made me want to seek out other Mourvèdres to compare this one to! I appreciate that they are still offering that down to earth, approachable Paso hospitality when so many other wineries have gone high end. I believe that Sea Shell is on the right side of Paso History and will continue to do well while everyone else prices their wines and tasting fees outside of reach to the average consumer. 10 star experience at Sea Shell's tasting room because of the FANTASTIC service from Denise and the AMAZING wines! I've been wanting to come to this tasting room for a while, but never seem to make it in because I tend to frequent the vineyard tasting rooms when I'm in town. While passing through Paso earlier this month I decided it was finally time to experience Sea Shell! Let me tell you, you are missing out if you're only going to the vineyards because the wines here are unbelievable. We were the only ones in the tasting room and Denise gave us her full attention. She was extremely knowledgable about the wines and the vineyard. It was really cool to learn about Sea Shell and hear all the different wineries that purchase grapes from them. Denise was personable and even asked what kind of music I liked and started playing that for us. Now to the wines, usually when I have a tasting I'll like 1-2 of the wines enough to consider purchasing them. But here, I liked every single wine I tasted. It was tough to only pick two bottles to buy because I really wanted 4 of them! The reserve cab was one of the smoothest cabs I've ever had. The merlot had so much depth to it, it was smooth and rich and you were still able to taste the fruit on it. Those were the two I ended up taking home, but I gladly would've left with the syrah and regular cab had I had more room for wine. Popped in unannounced for a tasting on Saturday abs Denise welcomed us right away. The place had a really nice casual and inviting feel. Sat at the bar top and had our tasting, which was fabulous. would love to give this a 3.5 stars...but if i have to choose i'm rounding down. why? well -service was good -the place was cute - tasting price was reasonable (i think $14) ....................BUT.................... -wine not so good...in fact we just wanted to get through it. -we were stuffed in a hallway to taste...so weird! our other option was out front on the sidewalk but the music they had playing was really loud...so at least the hallway was quiet. -they had one (local) guy inside doing his tasting and club pickup (he was also at the previous tasting room we were at.) This was our first Paso trip after having 2 kids, we used to come here a lot before children and we were apprehensive if the wineries would be kid friendly. I stumbled into Sea Shell, and asked if we could bring our oversized stroller in because we noticed there was a stool blocking the door. The lady that was pouring jumped up and quickly moved the stool and welcomed us inside. She poured us a flight, the wine was amazing but the warm service was even better.
