Stopped in on a Friday afternoon for a quick tasting and sat on the outdoor covered deck. Tasting consisted of 1 white and 4 reds. Our tasting associate/wine tender, Makayla, was super nice, personable, and knowledgeable about the wines. Each wine was brought out one at a time and she went over the vineyard that the grapes came from and the wine's flavor profile. While tasting we saw some others drinking rosé and asked if it was possible to get a splash of that, she was nice enough to open a new bottle for us to have a taste! Though this is more of an industrial tasting room they did a good job of making the deck feel nice and fun. Additional picnic table seating with umbrellas was available next to the deck and near the stage that they said would be having live music that night. They also have a pizza vendor that's stationed there and offers pies until sellout. Unfortunately we had just eaten so we didn't get one this time, but we'd definitely grab one next time we're in tin city. Unfortunately none of the wines really did it for us so we didn't end up going home with any bottles. But, as I always say when reviewing wineries, everyone's taste is different, so this could be the wine for you. Overall a cool place to stop in at Tin City for a nice casual tasting and potentially some stellar pizza and live music. read more

Grab a delicious pizza from Lebbers Pizza in the parking lot. My boyfriend and I randomly came across Hubba Wines while searching out the best pizza for lunch. We were directed to this tiny outdoor pop-up called Lebbers Pizza in Tin City behind Hubba. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, who immediately made us feel so fun and welcomed! It was a million degrees out, so she gave us a table under cover and a fan gently blowing on us while we had a glass of Mushroomhead wine. Wow! What a nice wine! She let us know that they were certified organic with sustainability grown grapes, with no additives! what a bonus! The wine of course paid great with the pizza. Due to the heat, an early harvest was taking place and we got to see the all woman staff hard at work. We met winemaker Riley Roddick and let her know what we thought. This is a hidden gem! Hubba is tucked in the far far far corner of Tin City. Walk to Jacob Toft and keep going (have faith) and you will find it in the left corner. Tasting is done on the back patio, which is surprisingly spacious. We arrived too late for a tasting (past 4) so my group bought a few bottles and chowed on the scrumptious pizzas scooped out of Lebber's Pizza mobile clay oven. We had no idea what was back here in Tin City, this venue was a little hidden and we just ventured over and I am so glad we did, this was one of the funniest parts of our day. We get here and there is a pizza guy in front making pizzas, then when we walked up they were busy, so we waited, no worries, they were working fast to catch up and the host was hilarious. He gave us a drink to just keep us there and occupied while he settled others and then he had friends there so we sat with them, which was soo nice because they were getting ready to leave, and it was soo beautiful. Outside seating, with vintage umbrellas and picnic tables, the little plastic carafes with the glasses that clicked together, genius, we looked them up on Amazon LOL, next to the farming fields and train, it was just such a cute simple spot. Expected really good things from this winery as we were referred by a friend who's a club member but it was quite lacking. The venue is super cute and owner is friendly. However, we got a woman who I believe is new and very unwelcoming she barely described the wines during the tasting and gave off a harsh vibe. She didn't tell us her name so I can't include that here. The wines in the tasting were not good, neither was the rosé they have by the glass. My dad got the chilled red by the glass and that was the only half decent thing. Definitely wouldn't recommend for those that enjoy good wine. What a lovely addition to Tin City. Probably one of the best outdoor spaces in the area, the (very covid safe/socially distanced) patio opens up to views of the rolling hills of Paso Robles with the occasional passing train or if you're lucky- some motocross people popping wheelies. A seriously cool vibe. The wines are much more refined and elegant than most Paso area wines and we love the diverse fruit sources used. The Butch Zinfandel was a real standout for me as it is a very refreshing take on the varietal. The blends are all standouts and very food-friendly for sure. Had to buy the Chardonnay because it's one of the more balanced California Chardonnays I've had in a while. The winemaker/owner Riley is usually pouring and the venture is truly a family affair with the wines named for her friends and family and when we were there her sister was also pouring. Loved these wines! The outdoor seating area is very cute and we were thoroughly amused by the antics of Pancho, the winery dog. Riley was pouring the afternoon we visited and it was super cool to hear about everything first hand from the winemaker. She was so likeable and down to earth. I loved hearing about her wine resume as she has worked at many of my favorites. Her wine is uniquely hers and very delicious. read more

I swore to myself on my visit to Paso last week that no matter what, I was NOT going to join another wine club. I was doing so good! I really was. Then I went to Hubba and broke that promise quickly! Fresh wines - varietals that you don't see much - if at all - in Paso. Unique flavors that work really well for deliciously balanced wines. The venue itself is cute and comfortable with friendly, knowledgeable staff and then there's the bloody pizza joint sharing the lot that is some of the best damn pizza - I digress. Just go. We really enjoyed all of the wines we sampled from Hubba! The natural wines were all refreshing and delicious, the hardest part was deciding which bottle to take home. Very knowledgeable and passionate staff were excited to share details about all the wines. I thought it was a cute touch that the varietals are named after the winemaker's family. Beautiful surprise: natural wines in Paso? Yes. And so good. None or little intervention, this winery offers a wonderful lineup of refreshing, crisp and vibrant reds. All their wines have medium-high acidity that makes them special and interesting from the beginning to the end, without being overwhelming, and extremely drinkable. We have visited dozens of wineries in Paso and this stop was like getting back to the roots of winemaking: the fruit and the soil speak here, and you can taste them. Young and very promising winery. I concur with the other reviewer: a break from all the fruit bombs, high-extracted and alcoholic wines all around the area. Our host, the winemaker herself, was simply amazing.
