We arrived at Benom which was our last tasting of the day. We came about 20 minutes before our reservation and were kindly asked if we could return at our exact time because the tasting room was full. So if you have a reservation at a certain time make sure you don't come early. When we came back we were seated at the couch, and greeted by our guide Esme. Turns out she is the wife of the guide that we had at L'Adventure that we had that morning!! What a small world! We loved how the Paso wine scene is such a small knit family where everybody knows each other and cares for one another. Anyways back to the wine! We enjoyed a very personal tasting that Esme brought to us including a few wines that were not on the initial menu. We never felt rushed throughout the duration of the tasting. We learned about the connection between this winery and others through the French Mafia and the lure of that was worth the tasting alone. Overall fantastic wine, fantastic people, and a fantastic experience in the Tin City. P.S. shoutout to Esme for putting in a good word for us and getting us a reservation at Clos Solène when we didn't have one!

Recommended from a friend of a friend, we had a blast at our Benom Wine tasting. My friends booked a reservation and we were all setup upon arrival. I loved our Wine tasting setup. Each setting was personalized with our names, (great touch) and a listing of the wines we were sampling during our time. 2021 Les Deux Freres - 65% Grenache 25% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Tempranillo - Digging that Tempranillo spicey taste at the end. 2021 Origin - 100% Cabernet - Fantastic. Cab and I purchased. 2021 Lapsus - 35% Graciano 26% Syrah 24% Cabernet Sauvignon 15% Mourvedre - Delightfully put together and I had to purchase. 2022 Contrast - Refreshing White and I'm not really a white wine guy at all. 2022 L'essor - Another great white wine that makes me think of Spring 2021 Muze - My personal favorite. It won't be available until Spring but I'll wait. Tristan was our educator and he was amazing. His story telling of the Benom story was entertaining and informative. He took us out back for a tour to see where the magic happens as well. Wow, we had a blast. The Benom group definitely has their craft down. My friends and I have just added Benom as a must visit every time we hit up Paso Robles. Cheers!

We had the most amazing time at Benom! The wine was pretty good, but the experience was absolutely STELLAR. We came in without a reservation, which we got very lucky for in retrospect because they literally have a few individual sommeliers who sit with you from start to finish of the tasting, as opposed to pouring for a bunch of people at once. It was a really beautiful wine tasting that felt almost curated for us. They put us with our sommelier in a large outdoor room and it was all just beautiful. The story behind the winery is super fun and funny at times and overall it was very informative. A REAL wine tasting experience. 10/10 would recommend, but make a reservation! A bunch of people got turned away as we sat there. I did see a few reviews about feeling pressured into joining the wine club. It is true that with 2 of the wines we tasted our sommelier stressed that we can only buy that bottle if we were club members, but when we said we'd consider it and maybe come back tomorrow, there was totally no pressure!

First and foremost I want to smack myself for failing to "check in" at Benom Wines. Second, I want to thank travel companion Yelper Issabella B from San Diego for introducing us to Benom. Third, I am a cabernet lover and this place has a vintage of 100% cabernet. Nuff said! No, there's more to share about this place. It is located in Tin City on Limestone Way. You need reservations to taste here. The are a small winery; 2000 cases per harvest I think that's what I heard. Their wines are not in any wine stores as I think you need to join their club to enjoy the bountiful taste of their wines and enjoy the perquisites as a club member. As a member and you fulfill your annual purchase requirements; your tasting fees are waived I loved their low keyed yet sophisticated manner of wine tasting and story to Benom and their relatives in the Paso region. Want to know more? Well, you're just going to have to get to Paso and check them out. (note- of the many tastings we did on this journey Benom is my #1)

We lucked out and got a last minute tasting at Benom Wines. Having just tried Clos Solène a couple days earlier, we were very excited to try Benom! The hosts were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable and the wines were delicious! My favorite was the Hoc! "Hoc introduces two new varietals onto Benom's Collection beginning in 2018. Meaning "to this" in Latin, "òc" (Hoc) pays tribute to the brothers' native region of Languedoc-Roussillon by showcasing Carignan. Seen in France and in Spain, Carignan brings an exciting addition to the brand along with Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, rounding out Benom's Collection with a full-bodied darkness."

This was a phenomenal tasting stop at Tin City in Paso Robles. My wife and I decided to make the stop after seeing all the stellar reviews about their operation and making small production Bordeaux style wines. We're so glad we did. From the very moment we arrived, the entire Benom team was on extremely welcoming, thoughtful, and proactive towards ensuring our visit was an enjoyable one. Their French inspired wines were out of this world and we also enjoyed their more experimental white wines. We enjoyed them so much we ended up joining their club and look forward to taking family and friends for tastings in the future. The Origin Cabernet and Lapsus were superb. The Le Vingt was easy drinking and was super approachable as a young wine just like their other staple reds we tried that were from the 2021 vintage. These will age incredibly. Happily swapped in this membership for another Paso Robles one that we had been looking to replace and don't envision leaving anytime soon. Thanks again to Tristan and Guillaume for hosting us and spending the dedicated time you did with us during the tasting. We look forward to coming back soon!

So sweet to do this for us. Thank you!!

Just started exploring Tin City and I'm so glad we found Benom Wines. Rachel helped us even before we made it out for our tasting. She's so knowledgeable of all the wines and such a sweetheart. Can wait to return with friends to taste these wines. They were amazing!

Excellent pairing with the beef cheek bourguignon at Les Petites Canailles.

[I'm visiting the wineries as mentioned in "The Definitive Paso Robles Wine Guide", as curated by Josh of Vinohead. This curated list is an excellent cross-section of the renowned wineries in Paso Robles.] When I discovered this list through the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance FB page I was very pleased that Benom made it on this list. This proves a few things: 1) Benom as a wine brand can stand on its own and doesn't need to follow on the coattails of Clos Solène (a sister winery also on the list) and 2) I kinda have a good track record for discovering awesome wine and wine tasting experiences in Paso (as this and 4 other "favorite" wineries made this list). So far Benom is one of my 2 most favorite wineries in Paso and I plan on keeping my membership for as long as I can. I'm also pretty familiar with Clos Solène's offerings (also wine club member); I prefer Benom's reds and Clos' white/rose to each other. On my 2nd visit they moved to a bigger space - their neighbors are fellow lister Levo Wine. This allows multiple parties to conduct tastings at once in both the indoor and outdoor space. This time Katie (also the wine club manager) conducted my tasting, with Arnaud dropping by to say hi at some point. Both run operations well yet treated me as if I was a part of the family. (As an aside, Katie recommended me 2 restaurants in SYV that were spot-on in another visit a few months later). As a wine club member my tasting was complimentary with two additional pours of their Spring Release, Muze and Hoc. I picked up 2 Muze and 2 Hoc as part of my allotment. So over the course of October-June I have cracked 2 bottles: - 2018 Les Deux Frères (59% Grenache, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Tempranillo). I broke this at Les Petites Canailles (aka Arnaud's brother-in-law's restaurant) over a braised beef cheek. Being a rich dish the wine managed to cut through the richness of the dish and enhanced the sauce. Compared to Origin it is also the more approachable wine. - 2018 Hoc (48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Syrah, 17% Carignan). The wine that made me join the wine club "on first sip" and one of my most favorite wines in Paso. It is unique in the sense that it is unusual to see a Cabernet/Syrah blend. Old World sensibilities don't recommend blending wines from totally different regions (ie Bordeaux and Rhône) yet the fruit-forward Syrah mellows out the tannins from the Cabernet. I broke this for a Father's Day lunch at a Brazilian churrascaria and it's certainly a good alternative to Malbec as a pairing for rich meats. BUT unlike Deux Frères it does need to breathe a bit before serving. I'm still waiting for the right time to crack 2018 Origin (100% cab) as when I tasted it in Feb 2021 it was still a bit too young. The approach to this wine is that the cab is made in the French style, so more subdued than typical California cab presentation. I'm still relatively new in the PR wine journey but Benom's been instrumental in helping me not only learn more about wine in general but also making me realize just how awesome Paso Robles wines can be. There's a reason why I consider Paso Robles my favorite wine region in the world - the winemaking in the premium market is just absolutely superb. Many thanks to Arnaud and Katie for providing a wonderful experience both visits - I look forward to future visits as well as future allocations.

Beautifully designed, welcoming, and so comfortable.

Beautiful, super-chic space. The staff was so friendly, and incredibly informative, and very attentive. They also had solid safety protocols in place so it felt very safe. The wines not only tastes great but were so unique which really set them apart from typical tastings. We are very glad we checked this place out. Thoroughly enjoying our experience here. Thank you!

Make a reservation and go see Katie! She is very knowledgeable about the wines, and the backstory on the French winemaker (making French wines in California) and his connection to other local businesses is fascinating. The outdoor seating area is covered to protect from the heat of the day, and if things get too toasty, they have a misting system to drop the air temp even further!

She was an awesome host on both visits and was extremely friendly and accommodating. Bret's wines were outstanding across the board. We especially loved the 2024 El Paso de Robles White, the 2021 Fasten Your Seatbelt Syrah (absolutely incredible), and the 2022 Willow Creek District red blend. Thoughtful, balanced, and beautifully made. The space is clean, modern, and vibrant, and their creative marketing really stands out across social, their website, merch, and overall brand presence. We are the type of members who always take great care of the staff and rarely leave without purchasing extra bottles, yet today we were treated like an inconvenience. Despite being told in the past that spontaneous visits were no problem for members, we were turned away on a gloomy Monday with plenty of open tables. The host at the entrance was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even let us finish our sentence before cutting us off. We were told our only options were to come back in an hour, a "limited" tasting, drive all the way downtown, or just pick up our shipment and leave. We asked for the Wine Club Manager to resolve the situation, but she wasn't on-site. To be offered a "partial" tasting as a favor after nearly ten years of support was the final straw. It feels as though they now prioritize "closing" new members over honoring the people who have supported them for years. They've gone mainstream and lost the personal touch that made them special.
