Stopped by Nix Wine Tasting Room in Tin City and it was one of the highlights of our Paso trip. The space is beautiful with a really great vibe, but the best part was Nicole. She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and made the tasting really fun. The wines were excellent--honestly even better than we expected--and we ended up loving everything we tried. It's a one stop shop: at Tin city you can have wine, beer, distillery products and more. Plus there are places to eat: Italian food, ice cream and places to grab a burger. Tin City is an industrial makers' hub that celebrates the best of California's craft culture. It originally started off consisting of tin-sided warehouses and now has over 40 producers. There are dozens of wineries, breweries, cideries, restaurants, ice cream shops, olive oil shops, and even SLO County's first Michelin-starred restaurant. It encompasses 4 blocks but still has a small town feel that's walkable and has plenty of free parking. The noise is minimal other than music playing from shops but you can still see people flowing in to enjoy what the area produces. It's only 10 minutes from downtown Paso Robles making it a convenient area to check out if you're a local or a tourist. read more

We saw the documentary on Netflix and were already planning a trip to Paso. Put Tin City at the top of our list! Parking was easy ( it was a Thursday) Had fun walking around, the Italian place was super cute! Loved the brewery! Everyone was friendly ice cold beers & great micro brews. Their smash burger & fries .... So tastee! Nix winery was fun and friendly. The distillery was interesting. Our server didn't seem like he wanted to help us, but wanted to hang out with the group of regulars. Made us not really want to buy a bottle. On our road trip decided to stop here. This is a must see. I wish I had more time here but it was later in the day. Such a cute little town to visit. With wine on one side of the street and distillery's on the other. There are also a few shops to check out too. We walked around and there is a distillery on every corner. We didn't get to try any beer but we bought some to take home. I will definitely go back when I have a little more time but this is a must see if you are in the area and like distilleries and wine and such. I can't wait to go back! read more

Tin City is a small collection of breweries, a distillery, and a winery (I believe). I originally thought it would be a lot bigger with more breweries to check out, but after exploring this time around, I was a bit disappointed. It definitely has potential though -- if it grows, it could be such a fun spot for visitors to hop around and explore. Overall, still nice to have experienced it! read more

Atmosphere - Cool hip place to visit. A must visit when in the area. Service - Good, sales driven. Price - Fair, slightly above average, but you are paying for the atmosphere. What a neat place! Surprised to only discover this after many years of visiting here annually! Collection of around 25-30 wineries and other small businesses in what used to be a tire factory? We visited several days in a row checking out the restaurants, small shops (cheese, bread, pastas) and many wineries. Was not crowded at all on the weekdays that we visited and finding parking was no problem. Only thing missing is that their website shows there is EV charging and even Google maps shows 2-3 chargers in the vicinity but we could not locate and the 1 unit we found seemed like we were trespassing into a businesses' garage! read more

Had always gone to the brewery across the street and had missed out on this hidden Gem as we were always there too early. Finally got the opportunity to come here during a vacation last year and has become a regular destination. First off join the bootlegger club. A couple of weeks we got to attend their appreciation event and they do a really nice event for members. The bbq was top notch. The staff here is what sets this place apart. They really help with finding you the right drink. They turned me onto drink I never imagined I would like such as their Fig Brandy and Chocolate Vodka. I really love their old fashioned. If you want excellent service and a nice adult beverage it's worth a stop! read more

Tin City is an absolute must visit when in the Paso Robles area. There's a documentary on Tin City on Amazon Prime which is worth a watch after visiting. The area is a gathering of large Tin buildings housing: Wineries, Breweries and local food joints. This Tin City visit consisted of stops at: Benom Wine - See Yelp review =) Aaron Wine - See Yelp review =) Negranti Creamery - impromptu visit. We didn't care for the warehouse vibe but that's our fault. We expected something different. Didn't care for the atmosphere ( not cozy) hard to find parking, not a cute place. Jamie W. and I were tooling down to Paso Robles to see the Sensorio light display that evening. We had a lot of time to kill, and we discovered that unless you're a world-class wino, there wasn't that much to do unless you want to go to the coast or head to SLO. So that's how we ended up in Tin City. It's described on their website as an "evolving industrial makers market nestled amongst the oaks where friends, adventurers, and aficionados come together to partake in craft wine, beer and spirits". I'm not sure what that means, but I assumed that a bunch of people get drunk and what evolves is their lack of sobriety. When we arrived, it did look like an industrial park without an obvious parking lot. That wasn't a problem since there was plenty of street parking. It was desolate at 2PM. We walked around the buildings which had tasting rooms but no customers. We aren't connoisseurs, so ended up at Tin City Cider (review: https://bit.ly/3iETTDB). Not wine and not bad. I have been to tin city twice. The first time was with a big group of friends for a birthday event. The environment was highly social, there were lots of games to play and we took lots of great photos. I liked that the space was both Indoor and Outdoor. The second time I went, I went by myself. During the day, the location is really enjoyable for a casual walk. I found some of the locations to be difficult to find and parking was tight. I still could not find the pasta, so I settled for a hotdog and I thought that it was mediocre to pour quality but expensive. I really enjoyed the service that I received at the ice cream bar. They had a vegan flavor available and I was able to take my leftovers to go. I noticed that a lot of the locations were meant to be family friendly. I thought it was kind of a weird combination, considering the space is mostly tasting rooms for wine and cider. However, there was signage posted to make sure that the children behaved. read more

Tin City is one of the hottest new, up and coming places in Paso Robles. It's located in an industrial center with over 20 wineries, craft beer, cider, and local food produced in SLO County. You can find local food trucks at BarrelHouse Brewing Co and Tin City Cider. Almost all the tasting rooms are converted shipping containers or warehouses, giving it a fun and unique experience as you walk through the man-made "tin" city to visit the various vendors. Since the reopening post-COVID, most places are reservation only with some exceptions for walk-ins. There are a lot of different places to see and it can get a little overwhelming, so plan to spend a few days at Tin City alone if you're trying to hit every spot. Tin City was very cool! It was super cute and very fun. All walkable with a TON of wineries and breweries all next to each other. Some places have food and some don't, but there's definitely enough food in the area to stop in somewhere whenever you're hungry. read more

A place to learn of the MANY new wineries and wine producers in the Paso region. A Place! A Place! There are at least 40 entities housed in the Tin City Block. I'm guessing it's been named Tin City because most of the structures are made with tin sidings. Please know there are eateries (McPhea's and Negranti for starters) and the brewery with snacks and a pretzel place and much more. I would suggest you go in the early spring or autumn when the weather is more conducive to strolling and grazing. I can imagine in the triple digit degree days, it might be a bit overwhelming. Where can you find wine tasting rooms, breweries and a distillery all in one place? Tin City offers all of the above plus a few restaurants and an ice cream shop. Just park within the area and walk to the different places. We spent an afternoon there and found it very convenient to get tasters and food. Tin City is definitely family friendly with lots of parents pushing strollers. There were a couple of bachelorette parties there too. While most establishments were open, some were open by appointment only. You may want to check the hours of each on their own website beforehand. Some highlights include: - Tin City Cider: various flavor combos of ciders. Cans and liters are available for purchase and the Honest juice boxes are free for the kids! - McPhee's Canteen: good place to grab some food. Great customer service and we enjoyed eating near the waterfall in their courtyard. - Wine Shine / Tin City Distillery: There are a variety of cocktails you can get along with some tasters, but only one cocktail or one flight per person. read more

I suppose this would be a great place if you're into wine or beer. We found ourselves here while visiting Paso Robles and had some time to waste before lunch on a Monday. The ambiance is nice, as is the architecture. It was a nice walk around the "loop" before the restaurant opened for lunch. I respect what they did with the place and imagine it would really hopping (pun intended) on a Friday night -- though I cannot imagine where everyone would park. But coming here before lunch was a bit of a disappointment. Outside of beer and wine, there was an olive oil place, an ice cream place that was closed, and I think that was it except for Etto (our lunch). I would have loved to see more interesting shops (maybe a cheese place or bakery), something interactive, whatever. read more

I was told about this from a friend & was wowed at all the places; breweries, a creamery, winery etc. We enjoyed Barrel House Brewing & the food truck there (see my review) & Friends With Benifits Brewing. This review is for Friends With Benifits which brews cider & serves beer from a few third party colligues. I had an oatmeel staut & my aunt & uncle a Mexican logger & blond respectively. My mother enjoyed her cider. The bartender was very friendly & answered our questions; we got to try samples before ordering which is always a plus. It is a decent size shop with a couple bars & some tables to sit at. I will definitely be back next time I am in town. This is a must when you are in Paso Robles. Many breweries to choose from. Homemade Ice cream shop and food available. Everything is walking distance from each other in this area. my favorite local brewery, BarrelHouse Brewing Co. is there and the grounds are pretty great! Love the big rooster running around welcoming guests as they eat. Really enjoyed the homemade pasta & deli shop and look forward to checking out the new restaurant next door that will carry some of their homemade pasta and sauces. Absolutely LOVE going to the barrel house brewing company! It is such a great little area to hang out with friends and grab a few drinks. I wish there was maybe ONE more food truck, but really enjoy that spot. Additionally, the ice cream spot is cute. Not a big fan of ETTO, the food isn't great- but there are MANY other spots here that make it a great way to spend the weekend with friends and family. Barrelhouse also has live music and different events, if you go I'd suggest to stop there! read more

This place is awesome! Breweries, wineries, food, it's pretty much got it all. The brewery had a big outdoor area and was perfect for families or just drinking with an outside atmosphere. We kept reading online that it closed at 530, but there were still some things open. All the wineries were closed (Sunday at 5), but I think all else was open until 7. We ate at the food truck located at the brewery and it was so good. Had a couple beers that didn't disappoint and then finished at the Ice Cream shop. We're from out of town, but when we come back to Paso Robles we'll definitely visit Tin City again! read more
