Very clean place! We each had one glass on a Monday and thought their wines were okay. They're also very dog friendly. My only issue is that the lady serving us was not attentive. I believe she had a friend sitting at the bar area so she just kept talking and talking. So her friend kept her occupied the entire time. Would definitely not come back. read more

Perfectly situated in Downtown Paso Robles, this tasting room was our first wine tasting experience in the area. It's $20-30 per wine tasting depending on whether or not you go for the regular tasting or reserve and you get to pick any five wines. Unfortunately, we went back in September for our Paso Robles trip, and I did a terrible job documenting which wines we tasted, so can't speak to specifics, but knowing me I would have picked a sparkling, two whites, and two reds to balance it all out. Plenty of options to choose from! Service was excellent and the interior is well lit with photos of their actual winery on the walls. They also had live music playing on Friday evenings. If you're in Downtown Paso Robles, highly recommend stopping by Calipaso Tasting Room. We had a great time! read more

This is a nice little Tasting Room in the heart of Paso Robles. It is basically next-door to a ramen restaurant (805 Ramen) that we really like to go to, so sometimes we'll go have ramen and then walk next door and have a glass of wine- or vice versa. You can call ahead of time to the tasting room and see if they have any live music in the evening. They often do on the weekends :) read more

We had a great time at Cali Paso tasting room! Our first time trying our wines and the ladies there were amazing at recommending wines for us to tase. We stayed at the Villas so we headed out to the tasting room while waiting for our room. So happy we did because we got their early enough to start day drinking with no crowds. . There was plenty of room and space, indoor, outdoor and in between seating, loved the pourers taste in music and she was very friendly and accommodating. Very knowledgeable of wines and had a ton of patience for us newbies. Tasting room was clean and had some clean bathrooms. Long bar/tasting area and a nice variety of wines. very first tasting in paso! our room wasn't ready to check in so we ventured into town to have a taste at Justin. They were closed!! so it got on Yelp and found this spot a block away from Justin. we were seated on a couch facing the front door ...i got to see everyone coming in. The coffee table in front of us was so super cute! I generally prefer a winery vs tasting room since that adds so much to the overall experience, but i was so happy with this location. Our host tried to give us wine knowledge....it was just ok but i really appreciated it. She was so friendly. The wine was really good! We shared one premium tasting and we bought a couple bottles to take home (2 bottle minimum to get tasting compd). Don't think i'll be back soon...only b/c there are so many other places to try...but it's not out of the question. actually...if they do tastings at their winery (not sure where this is or anything about it)...i would want to check that out for sure read more

Friend and I were enjoying the early evening walk, we have passed by CaliPaso so many times but never ventured in, well last night we did. First off Bobbie, being new to the area herself she was absolutely awesome with her knowledge of the wines and the Paso area The wine was amazing. Had a great time here. We sat on a coach at the end of their tasting room with our two dogs. They had dog beds we pulled out for them to sit on. With a TV and friendly owners the vibe is more like a welcoming hometown bar than a tasting room: and there seems to be some regulars that emphasize that. The wine is good. We stayed at their resort and they offered complimentary tasting so we Uber it down and absolutely loved their tasting room. It was all indoors but we found a spot to sit. All their wine is good couldn't decide what wine to take back to our room. The service was amazing MADISON was our server she was pouring our wine and was so friendly. She was on top of it her customer service was above and beyond. They had live music we ended up purchasing a bottle and she recommended a place to go eat in the area. I've been to the tasting room twice, once for a full tasting and just recently, for a glass of wine. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere (mid week more so than weekends, obviously). Their wines are delicious, reasonably priced and the people who work here are great. Central to all the restaurants and shops of downtown, it's definitely worth a stop. read more

Located in the Downtown area. There's 2 types of tastings available. $15 for their regular pours of 5 wines. Their $25 premium flight includes their reserve wines. Our server Bobbi was such a joy to converse with. She was very knowledgeable and informative with all of the wine we selected. Definitely would come back here for Bobbi and also their wines. Extremely friendly bartender (Jamie maybe?) who was not only genuine but doing a phenomenal job attending to a decently full tasting room by herself and doing it well. The wines are wonderful- we dis a regular and premium tasting and ended up walking out with 6 bottles, mostly of the Sauvignon Blanc (wonderful aroma, outstanding taste and highly rated recently). She recommended we try the actual winery (15min away) for lunch or dinner which we did (will post separate review). read more

Taking a day trip with 2 young daughters in the middle of the pandemic was not easy. Calipaso Tasting Room made my day! There was no one there except for us so my daughters got to have a lot of fun while I had my tasting. Wine was amazing (took home 3 bottles) and I had such a relaxing time while the kids were playing on their own! Thank you so much for hosting me and my 2 daughters. Stopped by paso for a quick sip and a bite and we were so happy to find this perfect spot. Parking was easy downtown. Lots of metered spots w/ paystations. Not expensive. After going for a stroll, we happened upon this place and were able to snag a spot outside for social distancing. Service was amazing and we were able to order pizzas from next door that they brought over for us. And they were bomb! The wine was great and I ended up taking 2 bottles of the Calipaso cab home. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't very busy, maybe 2 other couples. The gal working the bar was very sweet, but didn't know anything about the wines. She was very new and probably shouldn't have been left alone. We had a hiccup on our receipt and reached out via email, but never got a response. Me and my wife were looking for a wine night cap and we were so happy to have stepped into this place. Live entertainment was great. Customer service was perfect. Wines were very good. Wonderful experience at their tasting room downtown. I highly recommend the Rosè, it's full bodied and not too sweet, has a great finish. Emily took care of me and she was very knowledgeable and sooo friendly! Nice to share great wine and and delightful conversation. I came here once before and loved it both times! We have passed by this place many times during our evening walks around paso, but this time we decided to stop in and we are so glad we did. Amber served us and she is so personable and comfortable, we felt like we were family immediately. The wines are all very good and we had our choice of what we wanted to taste. The ambience is super clean and very comfortable and felt like we wanted to just hang out the rest of the night. I don't know why we waited so long! Come in and try it. Friendly staff, this review is solely about the wine which we barely found to be drinkable. We didn't finish several of the tastes. Most of the reds smelled and tasted like brandy and had a brownish tint. We opted for both levels of tasting and ended up spending $45 then left shaking our heads not understanding why it was so busy in the tasting room. We drink quite a bit of red wine and have only had one other experience when the wine was so awful. I don't like leaving bad reviews but we were completely disappointed with the wine and thought others may want to know. read more

Established in 2012.

Established in 2012 CaliPaso Winery & Villa is a family owned and operated winery making estate grown and produced wines. CaliPaso Inn offers a 7 rooms as well as a Winemakers residence all with vineyard views. CaliPaso has just expanded to downtown on 13th street, the Tasting Room is surrounded by amazing restaurants and shopping. Come checkout our new location and try Calipaso wines.

Meet the Manager: Jamee F.

Jamee runs the Tasting rooms day to day, and all things WineClub. As a Paso Robles native Jamee loves her small town and wants everyone who comes into CaliPaso feel like part of the family. After college her and her high school sweet heart got married and moved back to the area ready to start a family, two boys later they are proud that there boys to grow up in the same town that her husband and herself grew up in. We couldn’t be happy with her as CaliPaso Tasting room Manager!

Justin, the tasting room lead, is knowledgeable but far from snooty. On a quiet weekday afternoon, he spent a long time with us -- we explored a wide range of whites and red (and one rose). Some of our favorites: Chardonnay Napa Valley, Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard Carneros (I don't drink Chards and really enjoyed this one), Cabernet Angels Vista, Cabernet Lameraux. But my friends were intent on having a good time so we pressed on with conversation and laughter and eventually Bobbi warmed up to us. (Perhaps she was just tired). The wine was amazing. We had good tastings and bought several bottles in the end. I do wish Ray was around but we hope to catch him next time. I think it's important that staff remember they are repping a brand and shitty attitude will cost your business money. In the end she was chill with us but it took a lot of effort on our part. Great wine, highly recommend you stop in the alley for some gooood wine

We were immediately seated by a very friendly man who said they are always open on Christmas and find it's a really busy day for them - and within the time we were there he ended up completely full. He was very friendly, the space itself quirky but cute and the wines were nice. They allow you to order food from the Thai restaurant next door and enjoy it while doing your tasting. He definitely got busy and could have used an extra hand so it took a bit to close out but we get it - a holiday and one of the only spots open in town.

The wines were all excellent. Left purchasing several bottles and glasses. Unlike most tasting rooms in Paso, including many of the downtown ones, they are open nice and late - 8pm most nights and 9pm on Friday and Saturday. They primarily serve reds (with a rosé available for tasting while we were in, and a white available by the bottle only) and specialize in Spanish varietals. I really liked the educational sheets they had about the Paso Robles AVA, and the map of the different districts. Wines weren't our absolute favorite, but we did end up getting a bottle of one of their garnacha's to bring home! Hope to come back and try their Albariño sometime and maybe do a glass/bottle over a tasting.

Where do I start? It was probably two years after hearing about this winery while sitting at a…read moretasting with Ray at Indigene Cellars located "in the alley" next to Jeffry's Wine County BBQ. I heard him mention this tasting room in downtown Paso to a couple sitting a few seats down, but never got there, opting for other "larger" wineries. However, since walking through the door in June 2025, I feel Bushong is one of the best Paso Robles has to offer and really like what Jason says, "We're not focused on making more and more, but making better and better." The tasting room is located half a block off the square at 12th St & Spring St. a very easy walk across Spring, if you are visiting other tasting rooms in town. Jason, the winemaker and Mike, mister "does everything else" serve up some great wines! Walking through the door it feels as if you are walking into someone's living room. The wall opposite the entrance is a wall full of vinyl (that's records, Gen Z). Willing to spin whatever you are in the mood to listen to. The wine names are all music related, as are the labels. Specializing in red blends, Jason does an excellent job getting the most out of each varietal used to create a symphony of flavor in each bottle. The tasting run $25 per person, but is waved with the purchase of two bottles. You taste your way through the lighter offerings, a white and rose before moving on to the red blends and possible the 23 year old cream sherry. So lovely! Everything he bottles has been excellent. I've been very impressed with the quality considering the size of his boutique winery, but really becoming a fan of these smaller operations because of what they produce time after time. When in Paso, make a reservation with Jason or Mike and get into Bushong. Some of the best wine I have tasted in Paso. I highly recommend it!
